The Hot Springs

Spent too long watching the northern lights in the Igloo? Starting to feel your toes go numb? Not to worry, next to the Igloo are the Hot Springs. There's no need to travel to Iceland to visit the famous Blue Lagoon anymore since Mr. Baldvinsson has brought some of that magic to Hogwarts.

Its vivid, translucent blue water is at just the right temperature for your muscles to relax and for your toes to regain their former color. This mineral-rich water will cleanse your skin and your mind from all thoughts of OWLs and NEWTs.

Not a big fan of the rotten egg smell? The Groundskeeper would like to state that the smell of sulphur is authentic but to avoid complaints from the students (and the staff): Mr. Baldvinsson has agreed to conceal the sulphur fumes.

This is a place to relax. Too much water splashing, running around or yelling will result in a grumpy Groundskeeper. Best to check if he's around before starting that water fight. Also; swimwear is required.

It was never too early to spend time out here.. year wise, of course. Mornings were at best tolerate with Kirk. It was close to the afternoon when he and Mel agreed to chillax out by the springs with some food. Nice food with some sandwiches and sweets and other goodies of their favorites.

It was pretty calm out with the skies partially cloudy so it wasn't too bright out when Kirk arrived. He carried a bag with some of the treats and cards. "What do you think? Here's good?" His light-blue eyes gazed at Mel. He was more taller than her from last year, slightly. They were on the grass close enough to the dock incase they wanted to soak their feet in or not.

Pffffffff…Mel huffed and blew a section of her hair out of her face before turning to look over to Kirk again. Over, heck, she was going to have to get a step-stool just to look him in the eyes one of these days.

This was getting ridiculous.

He needed to stop growing…or well, he didn’t. She just needed to grow a few more inches maybe just one. Really, just once more inch would be great. She didn’t want to be a pipsqueak anymore. ”Here’s great,” she grinned up at her prefect boyfriend…really, it was strange to her that not one but two of the most important boy men…boys? in her life had become prefects. She was just, happy for them.

”this place is just so, enchanting. One day, I’m going to visit a real non-magic’d hot spring…maybe on some wild world adventures after graduation…” she paused and looked at him but this time she was lazy. She didn’t glance up at his eyes she sort of just made eye contact with his shoulder. ”you know before deciding what to do with the rest of my life?” she paused for a moment wanting to ad more – like how it could be a stop of the whirlwind adventures she and Hadley had talked about over the years…or maybe, maybe it could be something she and Kirk could do together on summer? She wasn't going to say that - not right now...it was, she jsut had all the time in the world to figure that out now didn't she?

Harriet had been feeling a bit low since she had returned back to school from seeing her new baby niece. It wasn't as if she was unhappy, she just felt low. Things has been a bit rocky over the summer, and she hadn't really been herself. It had been getting better, but now she was back at school, when all of her family were happy at home with the baby. She felt a bit left out. It was hard, but hopefully she'd jump out of this funk soon.

She needed somewhere to escape, so that she relax for a little. The hot springs were the best place. It was nice and relaxing down there, and she could almost pretend she was way from the world. She sighed, relaxing in the hot water. It was just the right temperature and she loved it. Hopefully she would feel a bit better after having some quiet time to herself.

Flynn was typically not the one out searching for any kind of lake or swimming hole or anything type of body of water where his foot could not touch the ground; however, he had a rough day of classes and needed to get away. He had attempted to hide away in the astronomy tower, but there were too many eager students there.

Eager students = loud, unwanted noises = unhappy Flynn.

So here he was, heading down to the hot springs. He did not bring any sort of swimwear with him because he was not planning on swimming. All he wanted to do was relax his feet, enjoy the quietness, before his next class.

Upon arrival, he spotted a familiar Hufflepuff, who he went to stand beside. "Are you having a rough day too?" He asked as sat down on the edge of the spring, rolled the ends of his pants up, and dipped his feet into the water.

Harriet closed her eyes, just enjoying the water. It wasn't usual to get this kind of temperature of water in England, so she was going to enjoy the hot spring. She knew the lake wouldn't be so comforting, and therefore she was glad that she had chosen to come here. She had a feeling the lake would have been pretty busy too, so she was glad to have chosen here. She didn't feel very social at the moment. So it was a good choice on her behalf.

To be honest, she was having to fight to not fall asleep. She didn't want to drown, and so falling asleep would be a bad idea. Luckily, she heard a familiar voice, and knew that company was going to stop her from falling asleep. she smiled when she saw who it was. She might not have been feeling social, but she would never pass upon having Flynn for company

"Yep." She murmured, knowing it wasn't a bad thing to let him. "Just feeling a bit meh." Hopefully some time out in the Hot Springs would make her feel better

Swimwear required? OKAY SURE. Beau had a WET SUIT that he had brought with him JUST in case he wanted to go exploring the lake and meeting the squid and ALL of the things. But because he had been exploring the grounds a whole THREE days ago, he KNEW that this was HERE and had come PREPARED. It wasn't December yet, so he wasn't going to FREEEEZE to death walking from the castle to the HOT HOT HOT SPRINGZZZ.

He could already SMELL the heat -- could someone smell heat? Was that normal? Or was he MORE SPECIAL than his Mum told him he was?

PROBABLY THE LAST ONE.

Kirk's smile nearly matched Mel's when their eyes met. A calm wave appeared to cloud over him as they relaxed by the Spring. Whether it was from this area alone, from being with his girlfriend or both made things seem just right. Which gave him the opportunity to lay a soft reminder from his lips onto her.

As he unpacked some of the food onto their nice little blanket mat, he listened. With the mention of said wild adventures, Kirk assumed she was speaking of her and Hadley's plan that was occasionally mentioned. "Sounds neat, there's plenty of time for that before we have to be old and responsible." He casually mentioned. Though he could feel the zen encroaching, there was a bit of a silver lining. He didn't think too much of it when it came to their class year difference, after all they only had a few months age difference. But still, it was there. Before he knew it she would be graduating and he'll be experiencing a year without her... But that was too far ahead for him to even mull over at this point.

Instead he considered over what else they would be experiencing together, "How's Darcy adjusting with her new friend?" It was wicked how she had the little beauty for care.

Flynn could already feel himself relaxing as his feet warmed up in the hot springs. Could he possibly just skip his next class? Honestly, the idea of staying here sounded better and better instead of going to his History of Magic class where he would possibly fall asleep. He did not know WHY he was having a hard time sleeping lately. His insomnia was getting worse, it seemed, and he probably needed to go talk with Professor Reed about it, who he already needed to talk to about refilling his allergy potion.

"I feel you," he said. "It's been a long week." And the week WAS NOT EVEN OVER YET! He was so behind in homework this week too, but he was not about to tell her that. "What's got you feeling all meh though?" He asked out of curiosity and partly because he did care too.

The hot springs were pretty relaxing. Hattie didn't come down here too often. It wasn't really compatible with art, unless she wanted to get her paper wet. But she had decided that she was actually going to spend more time like this. It would be relaxing during her stressful exams. Not that she was trying to think about them too much. She was glad Flynn was here though. It was nice to have some company. She liked company, especially Flynn. He was fast becoming one of her closest friends, and she kind of liked it.

"It has....and many more to come" They had many more stressful weeks to come. Hattie was really not looking forward to it at all. She just hoped the year would go fast so she could get her exam over and done with. "Just feeling a bit homesick" She murmured with a sad smile.

Melbourne leaned closer to him and pressed a small soft kiss against his cheek before sitting down on their blanket mat. ”This looks great,” she smiled just as he kissed her.

”It will be…” she smiled at him before resolving not to bring up the fact that she was going to graduate before him – no. All Mel wanted to bring up was the fact that she was happy here with him, here at school with him. ”Kirk, thank you for this” she smiled softly at him and looked at the spread before them. ”This, everything here – its great and I just…thank you,” she smiled softly adoringly even.

No one EVER told Emma that there were HOT SPRINGS on the grounds!! Not in any of the letter or in response to any of the million and one questions she had asked every single person who walked the grounds, BUT THAT WAS OKAY. She had found them NOW and that was all that had mattered.

It was also okay that she had to go back for her swimsuit cause when she FIRST saw the hot springs they were empty but NOW someone was there! That meant new friends!!!

Emma let out a MIGHTY warrior woman cry as she followed behind him with a BIG SPLASH of her own. This was so warm and ALREADY THE BEST EVER.
