Please note that these actions take away from the Fatigue Points section. Also note that these are only taken into account if you're attacking or avoiding a spell. If you're simply moving around the hall, these points don't need to be considered.

Rula was PRETTY excited to be scheduled to duel a sixth year, a whole year ahead of her. She'd been scheduled to battle someone year older before, of course, but this seemed even more impressive to her since now it meant someone who had completed the OWLs. Since she was in the midst of studying for and stressing over them, she knew how tough they could be - or at least, they felt like they'd be tough - so Colt probably knew lots of things, including spells.

At least, that was her assumption. So if she could win this duel, she felt like that'd be a good sign that she was practicing and studying well so far.

Plus it'd just be awesome to beat an older student anyway.

Taking her place in the arena, she bowed as usual to her opponent, took the appropriate number of steps away, and then launched her first spell right at him. "Melofors!" Followed by, "Levicorpus!"

When Colt found his way to the dueling arena, he saw his opponent and she seemed to be a year younger. Well then...kudos to her dealing with a guy who was experienced in dueling. He was not phased by anything. He kept his guard up though. He walked to the center of the room and bowed to his opponent. He grinned and gave her a kind smile. Then resumed his position and held his wand at the ready. In Durmstrang they taught him never to keep your guard down and keep your wand up. He smirked when he heard the spell the girl tried to cast. Aww cute. A little pumpkin spell. He used his reflexes and jumped out of the way. Reflexes he was born with from quidditch. That was pretty easy. Then he heard her other spell and was taken off guard. He did NOT expect that. He was levitating upside down. He should have know she would use Levicorpus. He rolled his eyes and thought of the counter charm quickly. "Liberacorpus!" and then he fell onto his feet again.

He shook himself off and thought of a spell quickly. He said clearly, "Langlock!" and let's see if she could mutter any spells with that one.

Her first spell didn't hit, but at least the second one had. She thought about casting another spell to disarm him while he was up there, but her opponent had already cast the counterspell, so that plan went out the window for now.

Rula readied herself to cast a Protego for whatever spell he decided to throw her way, but once he did, instinct instead made her quickly step to the side instead, dodging the spell that way. That worked too, she figured, though deflecting with Protego would've been cooler.

But anyway.

Sticking with her current strategy of trying to disorient him, she cast a quick "Obscuro!" and "Flipendo!" at him. The Flipendo was intended to simply knock him back, not knock him out.

Colt had no idea why Rula was shooting out two spells at once. I mean yeah it was effective the first time but now that he knew her technique, she was wasting her magic. Now he was better prepared and tactful. He ducked out of the way for her first spell then he heard the second one and sprung back up was going to deflect that one back with "Protego!" Nice try sister. Reflexes born at quidditch usually helped and plus he had worse spells casted at him at Durmstrang. He thought of another spell to hit her with and it clicked, he uttered a fun one, "Colloshoo!" and he hoped her feet would stick the ground.

Since he'd mostly been moving around to avoid spells, Rula hadn't expected him to use a Shield Charm now, let alone deflect it back. So she wasn't totally prepared to block her deflected Knockback Jinx, which sent her flying back several feet.

She landed with an "oof!" but quickly scrambled back onto her feet - just in time to get hit with another spell, only this time it stuck her feet to the floor.

She'd fix that in a moment, but first, she sent another spell his way. "Orbis!"

The reason for this pairing? To give the two a challenge. Miss Botros needed a challenge in the form of someone who was older and more experienced with dueling and Mr Winchester needed a challenge from someone who was beyond her years. So, to the man, this was a good pairing.

And he wasn't disappointed in the duel, either. While some contact was made, both duellers seemed to have good reflexes in terms of dodging the spell thrown at them and then reacting quickly enough. Huh. Maybe this was more challenging for the two of them than he'd thought.

When the time had come for the duel to close, that familiar shield was struck up between the two participants. "Excellent!" he said, approaching the pair, "I have to say, that was a really close duel. You both have great reflex skills and it really showed here." Important skill, that was. "But there can only be one winner so congratulations, Miss Botros, and a very well done, Mr Winchester." Here's hoping it didn't bruise any ego he might have.
