You have been escorted from the waiting area by Healer Miller to one of the beds. This particular one is made of a soft shade of wood and has a matching night stand right beside it for your things should you find yourself having to spend some time here. The bedding if soft and warm in various shades of different colors depending on the room (feel free to decide which color on your own). If you happen to not like the look of the area Healer Miller might just change it for you if you ask her nicely. There is also an overstuffed arm chair close by should you have a visitor stop by. The curtains are usually left open unless the area is occupied in which the curtains are drawn closed. OOC: Please do not post here unless you have been directed here by Healer Miller! |

The sound was connected to a bracelet which she always had on her wrist. So as it was the moment Art filled out his name she knew. Filing away another potion in her book room Joy made her way out into her waiting room. "Art, hello. Is everything alright?" she asked at the same time picking up the notebook and reading it over. "Right this way, lets see what we can do." She gestured towards the area where the first bed was located. OOC: You can now post here "Hello Joy," Art said, as the school healer arrived. "Err... w-well more or less, I just keep having increasing pain in my knees. Wake up with stiff, sore joints and go to bed the same. I've been using a menthol rub which usually helps... it's been going on for about 10 years but just recently getting worse. The cream doesn't work as well currently, I thought you might have more ideas."
He stood up to follow her to Bed 1 and took a seat on the bed. It was nice and comfortable.

He stood up to follow her to Bed 1 and took a seat on the bed. It was nice and comfortable. There was something more important to Joy then just reading from her carts. That was hearing what the patient had to say straight from the patient. Sometimes you could hear the pain or illness in their voice making it just the little bit easier to diagnose them. Other times there was no hints at all and you had to listen, observe and figure things out.
Today was no different. Listening to Art and simply watching him make his way to the bed she knew the difficulty he was having. Actually she had heard from the man himself weeks earlier about his knees troubling him. It saddened her that he was having this problem but it also made her happy that he was coming to see her. "That's the trouble with a lot of creams. Your body tends to grow used to them over time forcing you to use more and more or switch to something much strong." It was the same with many things really. "I do have a different rub you can try. It's more of a gel and made with healing herbs. There's also herbs that you can add into a morning cup of tea." If he was interested in either or both of these remedies she would glad get some ready for him to test out. "Does either of those appeal to you?" |

There went the dinging around the office again. Healer Joy set down the container of fish food she had in her hand and exited her office. Her eyes fell upon the young boy cradling his arm close to his chest. Broken wrist possibly was the first thought that entered the women's head. Glancing at the sign-in book it was easily confirmed that the child was injured. "Let's get you into a room and fix that arm, yeah?" she spoke softly giving him a warm smile. Joy gestured towards one of the empty rooms. "Go on and get yourself comfortable, lay down if you like and I'll be right in." She was just going to go get a potion or two for him first.
OOC: You can now post here Quickly finding a bed to lay on, Jonas sat up in the bed. At least until Joy came. It looked like she was getting some potions or something when he was in the waiting room. Why. Why did his broom have to fly off course? Sure he was no quiditch player but he was a third year! He should be better at flying! Now that he was stuck in here,he would have to catch up on lessons....
"Oh well," he muttered cradling his arm close to his chest.

"Oh well," he muttered cradling his arm close to his chest. "I'm sorry to keep you waiting I just went to get you this," Joy replied with a soft gentle smile showing him what appeared to be a light colored potion. "I'll need you to drink this down first. It will help you get some rest." She held out the small vial for him to take and knowing that it wasn't going to taste very nice at all she turned to pour him some water from a jug on the bedside table. "Once you have taken that I will take a look at your arm and heal it up for you quickly." A simple charm or two should easily do the trick. |

He took the vial from her hand and muttered a thanks before pintching hia noae and downing it.
Once he did though, the liquid left a horrible taste in his mouth making his face scruntch up. Oooh he hated taking medicine. Reaching quickly,he took the glass of water she had pored for him. He took a couple drinks of that and sighed. Setting it down, he yawned slightly. The warmth of the hospital wing made him tired along with the seditive.
"Thanks" he said again. "I mean you probably have a lot of other patients that need more help than me."
Jonas sat back down his back propped up against the pillow in front of the headboard.

"Thanks" he said again. "I mean you probably have a lot of other patients that need more help than me."
Jonas sat back down his back propped up against the pillow in front of the headboard. The red headed Healer watched Jonas quickly drink the potion and then the cup of water. He had done it without any complaints as well. Good for him! She smiled softly seeing him already yawn. "You're very welcome. No patient is more important then anyone else here," she assured him gently taking hold of his injured arm. Running a hand over the injured area she nodded once to herself humming quietly in confirmation. "Mhmm, yes that is indeed a break. A small one but a break none-the-less my dear. That's alright there I can have it fixed right now." With that said she pulled out her wand and touched the tip of it to the area of his arm where the break was. A very quiet spell was said to instantly bring down the swelling caused by the break before another charm was then cast. This one effectively healing the break and possibly causing a warm feeling in his arm where it was just healed.
With the use of her wand and a non-verbal accio a small jar of bruise cream floated into the room. Catching it out of the air Joy twisted it open and gently rubbed some onto the bruised area of Jonas' arm. "There you are. All finished. I'd like you to stay here for you a little bit and get some rest though, you can leave once you wake up if you feel ready." She gave him another warm smile and fixed one of the blankets over his lap. She would let him rest now. |

Jonas nodded and yawned slightly. He wondered if he could move his wrist. Though before he could try, he gave up as his eyes got drawsey. Jonas turned on his side and closed his eyes pulling the covers up to his chin. Sleep came to him quicker then he expected.
-------
The next morning, Jonas woke up with the sun blared brightly in his eyes.
"Thanks for helping me nurse joy." he said not sure if she was there and walked out of the hospital wing.

He'd been using it for a while now, and the relieving effects were wearing off quicker and quicker. Art had a quick think. The cream he was using was more like a moisturiser, and a muggle cream that he got from the pharmacist. It had worked until now, and a new, wizarding gel might do the trick. He was also very fond of tea. "P-perhaps I could try both? Or would you not recommend that?"

He was also very fond of tea. "P-perhaps I could try both? Or would you not recommend that?" "Yes, it's horrible how that works but that's how it is." Sad but true. It shouldn't be that way. With any luck what she had to offer Art in forms of healing teas and herbal gels would help the mans aches and pains. A wizarding remedy would surely work much better then a muggle one would hopefully, especially if it was the same one being used over many years time.
Joy smiled warmly at her colleague. "You certainly can give both a try. I myself am very fond of the tea and use it from time to time." Healing herbs weren't only effective on those in their older years they could be helpful to anyone if used in the proper dosage. "If you just give me one moment I'll go and get everything for you."
She was gone but a few short moments never liking to leave anyone alone for to long. Thankfully she kept everything very organized and never had much trouble finding what she needed. Returning to the room she gave Art a small bag containing a small tub of a light blue gel and a little container of herbs. "All you need to use is a small amount of gel rubbed into the sore areas and it should work very quickly depending on the amount of pain you are already in." So best not to wait until you can't walk! "The tea herbs is just a small pinch added. Sadly I only have enough for about a week and a half worth but I will get you more shortly." As soon as she had a free moment she would get another batch together for him. "Let me know how these work for you?" |
