Entrance

The Great Hall is flanked by two large, thick, wooden doors that often make a BANG! sound when flung open by dramatic students and/or staff. There are large, beautiful glass windows at the end of the Hall above the staff dais, the usual enchanted ceiling over everyone, and the four regular house tables lined up neatly in the middle.

Whether you make an entrance or choose to simply enter the Great Hall, you'll still be wowed by its size and architecture every time. You might also be pleased to notice the general upgrade in cleanliness, and perhaps a light, pleasantly clean scent from the candles floating above all the tables. Isn't it nice, what money can do for a school?

Even though it was a weekend Hady had woken up early as usual. It was alright though being as she had finally gotten a good nights sleep and was in a great mood. With her hair tied back and in a loose french braid and dressed in sweats and a loose shirt along with her sneakers she had headed down for an early breakfast.

Now though the small third year was leaning against one of the walls near the entrance to the castle and the Great Hall. Dropping her bag beside her at her feet she went about waiting for a certain lion having decided that this was the best place to spot the boy rather then wait for him in the corridor on the seventh floor. Hopefully her bestie didn't have any plans for the day cause she needed to speak with him.

Resting her head against the wall she appeared quite relaxed with one of her hands tucked into the pocket of her sweats. Now where was this boy?

Foooooooood... he needed it.

He had already decided that today was going to be a lazy day, cause really, what else was he supposed to do on a perfectly good Saturday? Study? HA!... though... he supposed he did need to go and check on his lake-tide-stick-flag thing... whoops. Ahem. He could make things up, right?

...

He hadn't even bothered to take much care with getting dressed this morning it seemed, he wore black denim and sneakers, a black undershirt which happened to be inside out, and an unbuttoned flannel button-down to offer him some comfy snugness. To make his appearance even less put-together, his hair was sticking up at odd ends and he had the strangest crimp in his fringe that he couldn't for the life of him fix - not that he really tried.

Pausing in the entrance, he cast a glance over the tables to see where the hash browns were. He had cravings.

Where was he?

Hady was slowly growing restless having taken to lightly bouncing on the balls of her feet to remain in one place. Normally she had no trouble at all with waiting but this morning she was in just such a good mood that she was finding it almost near impossible. And it didn't help that he was taking forever!

Though she couldn't exactly be upset with that fact since he had no idea she was even waiting on him. Oops?

Still bouncing about slightly she swept her gaze around as she noticed people coming down for breakfast. Her eyes followed each one until she spotted who she had been looking for. With a bright grin spreading across her face she grabbed her bag from the floor, swung the strap over her shoulder and quickly followed behind Zeke. Upon reaching him she kept behind him and like normal set her hands lightly over his eyes.

She wouldn't keep him guessing for long as she knew how much he liked his food, plus he'd know it was her anyhow.

There really wasn't much of a need to scope out todays offerings, the supply of the crispy potato treat was plenty, so there was no choice to be made. It was just as he was about to make off to a table when a pair of hands obscured his vision.

...

He smirked to himself for a second before grabbing them, holding them around his waist and dragging her along with him. It was always a good day when you had a Hady in tow... literally.

"You can breakfast at my table for a change," he informed her over his shoulder and he continued to lead them to an empty spot a the end.

The third year was going to move her hands from her friends eyes but before given the chance they were grabbed in the boys own. Having her hands held about his waist was different to say the least but she didn't mind it even as she was lead towards the tables. It was slightly harder to walk this way which made her laugh quietly.

"If you say so," she agreed without any fuss a grin still in place. "However after you've eaten I wanna talk to you about something from awhile back." Hady gave no hint as to what she was talking about but there was a playful happiness in her eyes that clearly showed it was nothing bad.

Toby wasn't sure if it was his Charms homework that had drawn him to the Great Hall or simply the smell of food. He was hungry, starving, and was ready to eat... well... everything. Just a break, then he'd get back to his homework. Maybe he'd even find something to use the charm on in the Great Hall. That room was filled with stuff.

Except he hadn't even reached the middle of the entrance hall before he had another idea. Toby eyed the doors as he approached them and craned his neck back to look at them at their full height. It was strange how many things you didn't really notice in the caste as you went about your day. Like these doors. But Toby was noticing them now. Most of all, he was noticing that they were still their original colour.

He hurried the last few steps, a smile spreading over his face. This was great! He'd just take one of the doors, the left one, and then call it a day. And eat. Because hungry.

Bouncing on his toes slightly, Toby pointed his wand at the doors and said, "Colovaria!"

Once again, Toby watched as the yellow began taking over, encompassing the brown-ish colour of the door until it was completely yellow. The Hufflepuff pushed the door open and stepped through to check the other side. And... oh. On the inside, the yellow was patchier, like someone had taken a paintbrush and some yellow paint and half-heartedly splotched it on. But he could fix that. No big. Probably was just a lapse in concentration.

"Colovaria!" Toby said again, with another point of his wand.

And... ta-daaaaaa. One yellow door, a very cheery entrance. And a job well done? Toby hoped so. He was smiling to himself as he left the door alone and headed off to his house table, to write the things down that he needed to write down, and maybe (definitely) stuff his face with food.
