[Nordic Witch]

When you are well into the common room you’ll see that some new furniture has popped up near the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the grounds and the surrounding landscape. Two shiny new easels complete with paint add-ons are standing on the floor, ready to use. If your fingers are starting to itch to paint, then choose the size of paper or canvas you want from the new shelves put up on the wall nearby, clip paper/canvas onto one of the easels, and start painting! The view seen through the windows will hopefully inspire some magnificent masterpieces.

If painting on an easel isn't your cup of tea or just not something you're in the mood for, Mr Kitridge and Mrs Tanner have also provided a good stack of sketch books, ink, eagle quills, parchments and coloured pencils for drawing or story writing. Any other crafts are of course welcome, too! If you get thirsty from letting your creative juices loose and just don't have the energy to go to the kitchens or the Great Hall, then Mr Kitridge has provided a small magically-run hot cocoa maker, mugs, and a big can of cookies - all supplied with a Refilling Charm for your convenience.

Rooney was enjoying being at Hogwarts and only a few weeks had passed here. Every day wasn't something new, but it was something that bewildered him. The notebook he had travelled to school with had been filled with his questions and answers, and so had a second. A third notebook, only six of it's pages filled, was stuffed into his back pocket as he sat preparing to colour something. Aunt Elsy had sent both he and Calliope to Hogwarts with a few colouring books to "rid the boredom", but Roo hadn't yet gotten bored and was just using some of his free time to have a look through the pages of the first one.

Here was a tree.

Then a cat.

Did Aunt Elsy really think his brain would be stimulated by a basic children's colouring book?

Since arriving at Hogwarts, Odette had taken it upon herself to run off whenever she pleased and sometimes it took a while for Whyttyr to find the little feline. This time, though, it was quite easy since the little white cat was affectionately nuzzling against the leg of a boy. He was a pretty cute little boy, actually, if you know, you were able to deal with that.

Whyttyr didn't mind.

"I think she likes you." It really seemed so, since the cat was purring at him. Hopefully he wasn't allergic. Oops.

Rooney had already became so used to Pomegranate making contact with his leg that he didn't notice to begin with when a DIFFERENT cat began to. He lifted his little blonde head to look at the girl and nodded, before looking until the table and running his hand along the cat. "She's very nice looking, Miss Whyttyr." Roo smiled again and reached an arm out to pull a chair out for her.

"I'm not very good at painting, so I chose my colouring books. Would you choose to share a page with me?"

"She is very pretty, isn't she?" Whyttyr smiled at the little cat who was very much more interested in the boy than she was in her at the moment, "And she's very cuddly as well." She added, just in time for Odette to pounce onto the boy's lap and rub her face against his arm, purring. Rooney looked like he was good at giving cuddles to animals, so Whyttyr was pretty sure he wasn't going to mind it.

She sat down and looked over at the book. It had been ages since she'd had one of her own and it definitely brought up a little of nostalgia. "I would like that very much." She looked at him and smiled. "You pick a page, though."

He already knew that it would be something as nice as her owners name, but that was because he expected nothing less from the older Ravenclaw. He kissed the top of her head, and thought about his own cat, and the other animals that he had encountered during his time at Hogwarts so far. Like Glinda. Catie's cat that he had named on the train here. "We should let her meet my cat at some point.." He thought aloud, and then looked overt the colouring book before them.

Roo flicked through a few pages and thought it was ironic for two kitties to be on one of the pages. "How about this one?"

"What is your cat's name?" She asked curiously as she regarded the picture he had chosen. Pretty fitting, wasn't it? Cute, too. "We can have one look like yours and one look like mine!"

Well, if they did that, he would have to tell her how to color his cat since she'd never met the feline and had no idea what kind of markings Pomegranate had.

Rooney smiled. "I like her too. I think I'll much enjoy having her around this year." When Pomegranate was off doing whatever Pomegranates got up to. He passed over a few pencils in different shades of orange and another of the white ones for the tip of his tail. "Definitely. I can even use Odette right now as reference. I hope I can colour her eyes as pretty as they are in reality, Miss Whyttyr." And he gave the seventh year's cat a kiss on the top of her head and whispered just how pretty her eyes were.

Maybe his sisters were right. Maybe his only female attention would come from the feline species.
