Gobstones Championship match: Hufflepuff vs. Gryffindor!

The building used for the Gobstones matches had had its doors ajar for the early summer air to get in. Its surfaces magically dusted by Professor Botros and Mr. Kitridge, the school's Gobstones sponsors, and made ready for the championship game for this term.

The yellow and red marbles were set out and the playing 'field' had been marked. Chairs were set out on each side of the arena creating a Viewing Area for those not playing to watch.

OOC: Remember only members sorted into Hufflepuff and Gryffindor Houses can post in this thread, it is not a chat thread and there is no rping.

Leo stood on the edge of the court, clad in favourite navy robes. Everything was set for the championship match. The balls and shooters were ready and waiting for the teams. No fires were lit in the fireplaces since the doors to the Gobstones building were open to the budding summer air. Leo didn't have to wait long before a steady line of spectators made their way up to take their seats in the viewing area.

When the two house teams had assembled around him Leo said amplyfiying his voice with the use of his wand. "Welcome, let's begin this terms championship match between Hufflepuff and Gryffindor!"

To cheers and claps the teams chose their first players that walked out with their respective shooter and stones.

Prefects Aditya Rehman and Zander Adair took to the court with their stones and shooters. The two boys swung their shooters and kicked their stones forward on Mr Kitridge's signal. The red stone rolled past a series of obstacles before it lost speed and stopped, narrowly missing to crash into a new obstacle. The yellow stone surpassed it's opponent and cleared two more obstacles before it too stopped.

"The first point of the championship match and round one goes to Hufflepuff!" Leo declared from the sideline.

Advisor note: I've googled about dinosaurs and found that both asteroid and/or meteorites can be considered a correct answer because nobody can be 100% certain what caused the dinosaurs to go extinct and die out. So the points go to Hufflepuff.

Adi left the court to hand over the yellow shooter to fourth year Leah Abbot who walked out to join Zander. The two swung their shooters and watched their stone rolled off. The red stone rolled past two obstacles before it stopped abruptly in the court spewing out a cloud of foul smelling gob. The yellow stone surpassed its opponent and a series of obstacles before it stopped.

"2 points to Hufflepuff!" Leo declared from the sideline.

She was getting her house's stone closer and closer to the Gryffindor's stone, and the goal in extension. "3 points to Hufflepuff at the end of the first round. Hufflepuff leads 5-0 as we head into the second round!" Leo declared.

Advisor note: After a second consideration, the first question of the first round and the match about dinosaurs will be tossed for fairness to both teams. A new easy question will be asked at the end of the match. The points have been adjusted to reflect this too.

The red stone picked up speed and rolled past 2 series of obstacles before it came to an abrupt stop. Luckily for the spectators no gob was exerted. The yellow stone surpassed it's opponent and another obstacle before it came to a halt.

The yellow stone maneuvered around it opponent and carefully around another 6 or so obstacles before it stopped.

The red stone rolled past a few obstacles before it stopped. The yellow stone surpassed it's opponent and continued further ahead past an extra two obstacles before it stopped.
