Feeling a need for a break from the skating and sledding and food? Or maybe just not into all the physical activities in general? Either way, you’re covered. Tucked in a corner near the treats but far enough away from the fire to make sure everything stays intact (especially without magic to protect it all) is a collection of tables liberally decorated with all sorts of wintry artwork. Setting the mood and also demonstrating the area’s purposes.
For, laid out on the tables are a collection of paper bags, sheets of white and colored paper, jars, Muggle scissors, candles (and matches), and all sorts of little things to try your hand at making some wintery crafts. Examples of snow globes, snowflakes, and luminaries are sprinkled throughout, as well, in case you need any ideas. But feel free to create to your hearts content, and there are prefects around to assist if necessary.

Nina had very quickly decided that she wanted to stay as far away from sledding and skating as possible. The last time she had skated was during an astronomy lesson and despite Professor Sandhu's wishes, it was a terrible time. For Nina, anyway. She preferred her two feet on the ground and STABLE, thank you very much. Perhaps when the boyfriend swung by she could be persuaded to go for a round of sledding. But for now? She was quite content to sit at the crafts table. Safe and sound. And under the red sky with translucent arms (which she LOATHED).
She hadn't decided what she wanted to make just yet, but she did reach over to grab one of the smaller jars. Maybe she could do something with this?

Oh, what fun crafts were. This event was the cutest and Cassie couldn't get enough of it. The sledding was fun, the hot coca was brilliant, and now crafts to top it off. As she made her way over she saw that some students were already getting to work. 'What is everyone making?" She knew exactly what she wanted to make, but maybe someone would have a better idea.
Walking up near Nina she gave the seventh year some snaps. 'Happy Prefect event, are you having fun?" She hoped the young lady was. I want to make my jar a snowman. I have always found they look so cute on jars. What do you think?"[/b]
Now what supplies were around for her to use?

It wasn’t exactly a surprise that more people seemed drawn to the physical activities or the food. Carys had rather expected that, even as she had fought for the crafts table to be included as part of their event. She knew there were others who were attracted to the arts at Hogwarts, even if right now it was a little bit more difficult to remember who exactly those people were. Cup of cocoa near at hand, she’d merely occupied her time making sure there were enough examples laying around on the odd chance people needed their ideas piqued.
At the moment, she had been using a small pair of scissors borrowed from Muggle Studies to cut out a rather elaborate snowflake from a sheet of snowy paper, occasionally pausing for a sip of peppermint cocoa. Yet she had looked up from her work once Nina had arrived, followed by the Divination professor, giving them both a smile. “Let me know if you need help finding anything,” she added, blue eyes scanning the tables to make sure everything was where it ought to be. She was there to help, and it really would be nice if all the little decorations and tools stayed where she thought she remembered they were.

Something else Nina loathed? Their divinations professor. Not only was divinations a useless subject founded upon baseless theories and speculation, but their professor left something to be desired. She was awfully too happy for Nina's liking. The snapping was also very distracted and her energy levels were even worse than those of Professor Rainwater. So when she heard the shrill voice approaching, it took all of Nina's might not to roll her eyes.
"Mhm," was all she had to say in reply to the question. Fun was one way of putting it. She also wondered just why Professor Kittridge was going on about her choice of crafts as Nina hadn't exactly asked her about it. "Sounds nice. I'm making a snowglobe." She had just decided now. Seeing as buying Christmas gifts wasn't a plausible thing anymore, she'd slip a photo into the jar and tag it onto her other gift for Calyx, perhaps. "Thanks," she looked over at the Hufflepuff prefect briefly before turning back to reach for some supplies that she needed. Carys was far more tolerable than her twin sister.

oooooh a snow globe sounded fun too. Maybe she should be making one of those, but Cassie was already set on..... What was she set on? Her eyes scanned the table and she set down the jar she picked up and picked up another. "I think I'll make a snowman. I love snowman and they always look so cute on jars." Grabbing some eyes and some glue she went to a table that was empty to get ready to work.
Hearing the prefect Cassie turned to her, "Thank you, this all is so cute." She always thought the cup of hot chocolate looked yummy as well and would have to remember to get some when she was done. Turning back to her jar she looked at it and blinked a bit, "Now what to make? Nina what are you making?" Maybe she could get some ideas off the students.

Instead of voicing any of her less than kind thoughts the Slytherin simply gave the woman a polite smile. "You're welcome." She didn't mind taking credit for a brilliant idea, as her ideas were usually brilliant anyway.
.................. What she did NOT like, however, was that her idea was suddenly being claimed as Professor Kittridge's idea. "Yes. That's the plan." Her smile even tighter now. "That sounds even nicer than a snowglobe."
She was going to lose her MIND.
