Unspeakables Lounge and "BREAK"room Off to the right side of the Department is a room that is dedicated to informal chit chat and breaks. This room is for employees to relax, and take a break from their work which can be rather stressful. Rather than a formal dining area, this room is more like a lounge, where comfy couches surround a small coffee table. Whereas the department is sort of dim and dark the lounge is decorated in light blue and greens, which are supposed to promote relaxation. The previous department head had also had a “break room” as part of this lounge. A room where people were able to hit stuff to vent their frustration. The new department head found this room pretty amusing, but also quite interesting, and decided to keep it. It might come in useful, seeing as she tended to have a little bit of frustration and angry. A semi – opaque, charmed barrier separates the break room from the rest of the lounge, protecting those who are relaxing in the lounge from harm. Any member of the Department of Mysteries of staff are able to come and use this room, which has been sound proofed, just to make sure any commotion doesn’t disturb the important work that is going on in other areas of the department. In all her time as an Unspeakable, Jade had never really fully seen their lounge and "Break" room. All her time was usually spent at her workstation or in the lab. She really didn't see a need for her to use the "Break" room, but it did still strike her interest all the same. She was never one to really want to break anything, well not anymore at least. Glancing down at her left hand, she smiled and head over to one of the comfy couches and took a seat. Maybe a moment or two of lounging around wouldn't hurt and then it would be back to work for her. Perhaps if she was lucky, she might see one of her colleagues come by and make use of their "Break" room. |
Only one post in here? Up for grabs! Ohhh, they should've decorated this place in different colors rather than green and blue. As pretty as it was, it was making it more difficult to keep her eyelids open. The new place she lived in was making it hard to sleep. One just can't adjust to going from a city to the countryside without having trouble sleeping, right? Or was it just her? Nah, couldn't be just her. Nevertheless, she'd made herself a cup of coffee, extra sugar, to wake herself up. Resulting to coffee, what was this? It was tough luck though when her back hit the couch as she sat down. Oh, nooooooo. Had this always been this comfortable? Was she actually laying down or was the room just turning at a weird angle? Were the lights going out or were her eyes shutting? Did she remember to put her coffee on the table or was it now spilling all of the floor? Good Merlin, she was too tired for these questions. |
what? No one replied? :O Quote:
Pushing the door open to the breakroom, Alex wondered immediately why she hadn't visited this room more frequently. It was LOVELY in here and they had coffee! But just as she was about to pour herself a cup, she caught a glimpse of her colleague .... on the couch .... her own coffee now on the floor... Oh, she knew her! That was the girl who got hired about the same time as herself. "Ev? Evelyn? What are you doing? Your coffee!" |

Oh, that was her name again. Forcing her eyes open, she peered up at whoever it was, brain half processing what was going on and the other half was, just, not there at the present time. No, wait. There it was. What? WHAT?! Fully realizing what was going on now and her surroundings, Evelyn sat up, a little less than half a cup of coffee left. "Bugger." she muttered, placing the cup on the table. Standing up, she glanced to the person again, wand already in hand to clean the...mess. Oh. Alex. Well... "Sorry." Ahem. Cleaning the coffee! |
Though this will prolly be closed for posting when i get back tonight :'-( Quote:
She waited patiently to see if she needed to do anything else, but like most mysteries employees, she was independent and self-sufficient. "No, it's fine, but maybe ...." she paused, hesitant to suggest such a thing. But the holidays were approaching, so it was possible that the girl was just overwhelmed. "... maybe you should just get some sleep?" And then she wouldn't need to rely so heavily on caffeinated beverages. |
with permission Not wanting to stink up the day care room, or the entire Atrium for that matter, Zoe needed a place to eat her lunch. It was the first lunch she had made herself in some time and had been looking forward to it all day. Entering the room with her lunch bag in hand, Zoe scanned the room for a comfy seat. "Yes, that one will do." She headed towards the chair towards the back. The table was clean and had lots of room for her to spread out her lunch. Placing her brown paper lunch sack on the table, Zoe hummed. Carefully unfolding the top of the sack, she was blasted with the smell of her sandwich. Sure, Limburger cheese was not a favorite for everyone, but she loved it. She carefully took the parchment wrapped layers of heaven out of the brown bag and placed it in front of her. "Mmmmm" she hummed again after inhaling the glorious aroma. The smell was so strong, she could almost see it rising off her sandwich. Gently holding the sandwich with both hands, being extra careful to not drop any of the Limburger, she took a large scrumptious bite. Her mouth suddenly danced in Limburger bliss. It was amazing. Sure, the entire room smelled of Limburger now, but if anyone had any idea how wonderful it was...well, they would be begging her for a taste. Wondering if she should find a way to lessen the odor, Zoe decided the only way that would happen was to simply finish her lunch and try to sneak away before someone saw her. |
because we can't resist and we need to play more *whistles* Quote:
Whistling joyfully, she made her way to the breakroom for her mid-morning cup of tea. That was when it hit her. A powerful odorous smell infiltrated her nostrils. Along with a young female just sitting there innocently, as if nothing was wrong with that. Zoe. Yes, she knew that female. And that stench. Pinching her nostrils, she frowned at the younger girl. "Seriously? Limburger at work?! The young ones that bad that you're trying to keep them from clinging to you during afternoon naptime?" Still pinching her nostrils, Alex strode over to the cupboard and rummaged through it one-handedly, until she dug out a lavender-chamomile candle at the back. Removing her wand from its holster she mustered a non-verbal and lit the wick, before turning back to Zoe. "So what brings you down this way anyway? Need more potion?" Cause she knew where it was stocked, if that was the case. |

Not knowing if Alex was making fun of her or not, she decided to ignore the nap time comment. Working in the day care was a much harder job than most thought. Sure, she wasn't going to be killed, but that didn't make her job any less important. Heck, people were getting paid to work in Magical games and sports. Seriously, paid to plan sporting events and such. Merlin, she was keeping kids safe. "I know. Not the best smelling sandwich, but it's wonderful." Zoe finished up the last bite and pulled a little container of fresh vegetables out. Taking a bite of crisp carrot, she slid the container towards the woman. "Would you like some? Fresh from the garden." "I'm fine on potion. Well, I think so. I don't think mine worked. Although, I haven't seen even one guy since taking it. I actually came down here for lunch hoping to meet someone." She sighed. Working in the day care was going to be the end of her already non existent love life. How was she supposed to meet anyone if the only guys she ever came into contact with were under the age of five?? "Sorry my lunch stunk up the place." Zoe thought a moment more "Alex! Right? I'm horrible with names. Unless you are a child. For some reason I can remember their names. But, adults, I'm horrible with names." She took another bite of carrot and felt around in her bag again. She knew she brought a dessert. With fingers landing on another container, she pulled it out. "Yes, chocolate fudge cookies." |
