Training and Trial Room
|
Emily stood outside the door to the training room. Now what exactly did she want it to look like? ... she had used the Room of Requirement on a number of occasions when she was at Hogwarts, so she was familiar with how it all worked. Thinking hard, she imagined the room beyond the door to be spacious, with low lighting, not so that it would be dark, but not so that it was too light either, sort of in between. Emily also imagined ... obstacles, pillars and stairs, with a small arena in the middle. There were also dummies and old suits of armour, with red and white targets painted on their critical points... the head and heart. Content with the image she imagined, Emily knocked on the door three times, and it opened..... It looked incredible, exactly as she had pictured it. For a room that looked small on the outside it was super spacious on the inside. Looking back to make sure the... what's his name guy was following behind her. Taking to steps at a time, Emily descended to the arena. "This is perfect," she said in a low voice. Turning back to the gentleman she had managed to recruit to help her with her task, "Sorry... I didn't catch your name," she said, holding out her hand. |
Like the Tardis :P Quote:
He turned to smile at her as she spoke to him and took her hand in his to shake, "I'm Bradley. Nice to meet you" He told her as he dropped her hand and stepped back to look around the room again. He spent a few minutes admiring the various sides and objects of the room before suddenly having a thought. "What was it you wanted me to do?" He asked turning back to her. A good question right? |
Quote:
But now they she was here... and she had enlisted Brad to help... what were they going to do exaclty? He seemed to be thinking the same thing as he asked her the same thing only moments after she had thought it. Turning, she looked back at him. "Well... I suppose we have a couple of options." Especially in a room like this, they could ahve some fun. "We could duel..." always a good option, fun and challenging. It had been a little while since she'd had the opportunity. "...Or, you could just hex me and curse me and I'll try to block, dodge and deflect them." Again another sound option, and this way she was less likely to hurt someone else in the process- meaning less likely to hurt Brad. Though he looked as though he could stand his ground. "You're choice...What do you think?" |
Quote:
He was looking towards Emily while he thought, this was going to help both him and her. Hell why not? He though as he took a step towards his dueling partner so to say. "Dueling sounds fun, i need a good practice" He said as he shrugged before turning to find the right position to start it. It didn't take him long to find it and when he did he raising his wand towards Emily. "You going to stand there all day or shall we duel?" He asked, feeling the adrenaline running through his veins |
Quote:
"Brilliant," she replied making her way to her starting possition. But now which wand would she use? ... Her trusty Oak?... or her Inherited Ebony. She whisked out her Ebony from its wrist holster. It was slightly longer than her own, and it was sturdy, definitely not as flexible as her own. She knew from experience that it was powerful, but controling it wasn't the easiest. Yes, it was time to get familiar with the Ebony. Emily smiled, dipping her head and bending at the knee in a graceful bow. Game on. |
Quote:
He had to admire though how Emily seemed to hold herself, as if she wasn't new at this and had much practice. He felt rather....well he had a feeling this was going to be a very challenging match. Taking a deep breath and shouted; "Stupefy" He shouted suddenly, ready for battle. He started off small, ready at any time to use more advanced spells. Game on. |
Quote:
She took a deep breath. Brad was... going to be challenging. He was older than her, more experienced than her. As long as she lasted ten minutes, she would consider it a mild victory. Practice is as practice does. Holding her "Protego!", she said casting her shield which colided with his spell, sending the flashes of red light in various directions. She was quick on her feet, her mind racing...prepared. "Reducto!" |
Quote:
Still with his wand pointed at Emily he took a few steps to the right, moving position to try and get a different angle at her, then again it would all still be the same outcome no matter where he stood. But nevertheless it was good to move and not just be a statue in this duel. "Silencio" That would stop her from talking for a while. Give him a good head start. |
Quote:
Merlin! She side stepped- well ... leapt... but was still hit with the silencing charm. Not that it mattered all that much, she could still do non-verbals... and then reverse it. Thrusting her wand in his direction she sent a jet of green light much like a lightening bolt from her wand.. a non-verbal Verdimillious. She wasn't going to back down yet. She could still hold her own... for now. Fool, keep moving!... sounded the all too familiar memory of her father in her mind. |
Quote:
She was good, he gave her that, but he'd been doing this for far longer. And he had a trick up his sleeve.....for much later. Now he was just warming up, he was beginning to have fun. He smiled quickly before shouting a spell that Emily had already cast towards him many moments before. "Reducto!" |
Quote:
Still on high alert, she felt the air around them intensify as Brad sent his next shot. He was reducto'ing her?!... BAH! There wasn't enough time for her to cast her shield, so instinctively she dove for cover behind one of the pillars which was erected on the side of the arena. It hit... leaving a crator where it had once been solid. Lucky it wasn't her face... that could have been awkward. Within seconds she was on her feet again... running along the outskirts of the arena, at least here the pilars would offer her some protection. Directing her wand to her vocal cords she lifted the silencing charm... still behind the cover of the pillars. She made a dash, down the line to hide behind the next one, "Alarte Ascendare," she bellowed in Brads direction before getting out of his line of sight... She'd have to come back out soon... she couldn't hide forever.. all she needed was one hit.. something to get her back in the game... back in the fight. |
Few hours early... Quote:
Smiling to himself he looked down at his feet to position them again, he had time Emily wouldn't be able to send a spell his way for a while but he heard a shout. Someone shouting from the other side of the room. Bradley whipped his head up and went to shield himself from the upcoming spell - which he'd failed to catch - but was too late. The spell hit him square in the chest sending him flying into a pillar not far behind him. With a groan he slide to the floor and breathed. A heavy blow for an experienced wizard, and now his back hurt. Brad stayed on the floor for a few moments getting over the fact the spell had winded him before turning to the side and painfully lifting himself to his feet. It took him a mare two minutes to get over the fact his back hurt like hell and turn towards Emily. With a strained grin from him he lifted his wand towards her once more and shouted; "Confringo!" |
Thats what I was going to use!!! >_< lol Quote:
She watched as Brad went flying back into a pillar with a sickening thud. Whoops... still no time to sit around feeling sorry for him. Returning to her strarting position on the main arena, Emily held her wand in front of her, she was focused, poised. She already had the spell on the tip of her tongue, but Brad got his out first, sending the fireball right at her. She was slow.. it wasn't the spell she was going to use. "Protego!" Her shield softened the blow, but it wasn't strong enough to withstand the attack, the hem of her robe caught alight briefly before she put it out. Childs play. Though her skin was slightly scorched now, nothing a little dittany wouldn't cure. Time to fight fire.. with anything other than fire... "Impedimenta!" |
Ha, beat you to it ^_^ Quote:
He thought as he slowly moved to the right, his back causing him pain and slowing his foot movement. Not his mind or arm movement though, a simple back pain would not make his stop this duel. Oh no. Watching his spell somewhat hit it's mark - well if you called scorching Emily's leg a direct hit - and began to quickly think of another. One set spell popped into his head, dark magic. He pushed it away, he didn't want to use that sorta spell unless need be, or well later in the duel. Let his back sort itself out a bit first. "Protego!" He shouted waving his wand in front of him. He watched as a shield built it's self in front of him but it wasn't good enough. No idea what Emily intended the spell to do it nevertheless sent him back a few paces. Breathing he let his shield go and stepped forward waving his wand around. Oh what the heck... "Sectumsempra!" |
haha naww Brad wins. Bully :P Quote:
FOCUS! .. Looking back ip at Brad they raised their wands in unison.. Maybe it was time to fight fire with fire. "Confringo" ... as she said it, she heard Brad cast his... Sectumsempra... she was in for it now. This was it... he had her beat. There was no time for her to react... the spell hit , slashing away at her. The searing pain engulfed her. But she remained standing.. swaying slightly, but standing, wand still clutched in her hand. She could feel the blood dripping, staining her clothes. It was warm, and sort of sticky but at least the pain was numbing. She raised her wand to retaliate. But all she could do was send sparks at him. Nothing critical... ........ ....... She clutched at her side. Not daring to look down because she could feel it. And that was enough to know she needed help.... she needed dittany. |
Sorry If i added any actions Emily did that you didn't like... Quote:
Without a moments pause he rushed over and took his limp body in his arms, slowly moving her to the floor. He rested her head on his chest and he tried frantically to stop the bleeding both with his hands and with magic but nothing worked. The blood just kept pouring. "I'm sorry..." He kept saying over and over again before even he had to admit defeat...Her face was getting paler and paler. Looking up he looked left and right from some that could help when an idea popped in his head. Of course she wouldn't have made the room without having some help at hand. Raising his wand he cried; "Accio Dittany" and watched as a small bottle began to zoom his way. He dropped his wand and grabbed the bottle to put over Emily's wounds still saying sorry. With a few drops he watched as her wounds began to heal, letting him breath again. |
Quote:
.......... .......... Emily was aware that something was going on, she could feel movement... she could hear a muffled sound.. and something else. But what it was she had no idea. It wasn't until it felt as if she was falling, did she realise what had happened. Expecting to hit the hard, cool surface of the ground Emily braced herself. But it didn't come.. instead she felt, warmth, and something soft. No, it wasn't something. It was someone. It was Brad. He was holding her? The pain was intense, her whole body ached and burned in pain. She felt like curling up into a ball and just laying there. But she needed to get up. Slowly she opened her eyes. Batting her lashes so that she could see more clearly, her vision had gone a bit hazy. She groaned a little as she felt something touch her skin... her wounds. It burned, but the pain didn't linger... instead it subsided. Emily blinked a little more, looking up she saw Brad looking down at her, dittany in hand... "Th--thh-Thank y-you," she managed to choke out between gasps of air, her voice was a little raspy, but she would get over it. The embarassment however... well she wouldn't live that down any time soon. |
Quote:
"Don't move" He said to a response on later actions. She needed her strength, that was important. Brad noticed that she still looked a little pale and he had the feeling she might feel cold. "Cold?" He asked without waiting for an answer, moving slightly so that he didn't drop Emily on the floor or jult her too much he took off his jacket and placed it on top of her, wrapping it round to that she'd stay warm. He smiled down at her once more. |
Quote:
It was awkward.. she barely knew the guy. This was not how she expected things to go. But it just made her more determined to succeed the next time... if there would be a next time. Though right now her main concern was getting back to the office without raising suspicion from Damien... he would probably kill her if he knew she had failed. "Mmm I'm fine... I think I'm ok," she said after a short while. She wasn't cold, just a little shaken, and still quite sore. But she could deal with that, the pain wasn't severe. She would manage. She'd experienced worse.. he he. Emily put her arms out to the floor, trying to steady herself and sit up without Brad's help. |
Quote:
"You fought brilliantly" He told her smiling, Brad turned his head to pick up his wand and stowed it in his jumper pocket. Turning back he adjusted the jacket so it covered more of Emily and looked in her eyes to see if there was any lasting damage. He was stalling for time, after a pause he sat back and sighed. Suppose it was time to talk... "Sorry again..." He said quietly looking at the floor. He picked up a piece of rubble and bounced it in his hand. "I suppose this gives cause for a drink?" He asked stopping the rock and looking up again. |
Quote:
"No... I didn't," she said in a resigned voice, she wasn't happy with her efforts, she had failed. And in real life... on the job... out there, if she failed, that was it. No one would be able to save her. Something stirred in her, some deep emotion... it wasn't anger, but it was powerful... and it wasn't happiness, but it was pure... it was grattitude. "Don't be sorry... this is what I need... I needed this..." she brushed some of her hair of her face. "This is exactly... what I needed. Its the only way I'll learn..." She was really eternally grateful, sort of. Though she wasn't about to go handing out balloons to everyone that decided to curse her. A drink? Merlin she could go for a firewhiskey. "Don't happen to have any on you now do you?" she asked... it would help with the pain relief. |
*ahem* Quote:
He knew he shouldn't say sorry again, well he didn't, but that didn't stop him from thinking it. Even after Emily had told him it was alright, saying it was the way to learn. Didn't help his thoughts though, they were going round in a whirlwind...Thinking about what he could say he noticed the women before him tuck some hair behind her ear. Without thinking he extended his arm and brushed the strands of hair she had missed, with a gentle stroke her placed them behind her ear before saying, "You sure your alright?" He hand stayed where it was a moment longer before he let it drop... |
ROFLMAO hehehe....oh dear. Quote:
"Mmm I have to get my revenge somehow don't I." Though she couldn't see herself hurting him, not greatly anyway... not like this. Her aim would be to block, dodge and deflect... there was no need for her to get back at him. "How's your back?" she asked, remembering the blow she had delivered earlier. She gulped down the rest of the butterbeer and set her glass aside, when all of a sudden, she felft Brad's hands brush across her face. She looked up, her hazel eyes locking with his.... Why was he doing this? First he goes and beats her in a duel.. and then he decides to hold her a brush her hair out of her face? ... .. must be him being nice, she supposed. "I'm sure... " she said still maintaining eye contact, but then she looked at her watch.. at least that still worked. "Merlin!... I should get back, if I'm late I might just get cursed again." And she wasn't joking. How long had they been here for? It had to have been over an hour at least. Bracing herself Emily pushed herself up off the ground, whincing slightly as a sharp pain shot through her midsection. After a second she composed herself. "Thanks... again, for everything. We should do it again sometime." |
So sad to see this end... Quote:
He blushed wildly when he realized what he had done and looked away from her, away from her eyes. He cursed himself silently for everything and so it was great to hear her confirm her health. Good. He turned back towards her and gave her a small smile. It was a bit of a shock to suddenly hear her cry out with shock and move quickly to stand up. Brad moved too, helping Emily to her feet and checking his watch. "It has been quiet a while, We'll defently have to do this again soon. The practice is good" He nodded his head and stepped back. With one quick movement he scupped up his jacket and put it on. He also picked up the bottle of dittany and handed it to Emily... "Just in case..." Was all he said before turning towards the door... |
