The Office of Gabriela Schultz, Department Head http://i1308.photobucket.com/albums/...psccc5004e.jpg The first thing you notice when entering the office is that Gabi has completely redecorated the place with a more modern feel, including adding a number of plants and funky, artsy decorations to make the place feel more proper and posh. There are two large, black leather armchairs sitting immediately in front of the desk, so you have someplace nice to sit when you're meeting with the department head. There's a number of bookshelves and filing cabinets that are not only filled with books about her first love--charms--but also filled with fiction novels, both muggle and non-muggle, and books on transportation as well. |
A memo shaped like a miniture version of the Enviromental Head's cat patronus floats into your office and lands neatly on the center of your desk before unfolding itself to reveal the message inside: Quote:

Gabi stomped into her office, on a mission with her little vase of Floo Powder from Aron's office. If her hunch was correct, she might have this whole mess figured out, which would be quite a relief! Not a minute after she walked in the door, however, a small memo floated in. Oh, a fancy cat! She wondered who that one was from. As it opened, she quickly scanned it over and then wrinkled her eyebrows. She'd specifically told Eliza NOT to go to a Department Head's office who was BUSY!! Find someone who was lounging around to bother. Whether or not she did it RUDELY as Roxanne stated was another question, and she had no clue if the woman was exaggerating or not. UGH. Whatever. That had to wait. She had more pressing issues to tend to. Once she had this solved, she'd talk to Roxanne. But for now... She took out her wand and checked the connection. Alright, the code was correct for England, so that didn't need to be fixed. Now, to see if her hunch was correct - she took a pinch of Aron's floo powder and dropped it into the flames. Sure enough, they turned a greenish-whitish color that wasn't normal, and she waved her wand to check the connection again. AHA! IT HAD CHANGED! It was now set to...Serbia? Of all the places to accidentally be sent to! So she quickly fixed the connection and cleaned out her fireplace, which took her a few minutes to make sure she had gotten out all traces of the bad powder. Now, for her own jar, which she was certain had been bought by Maintenance around the same time as his...she tossed it in the flames and once again, they became bright white. After checking the connection, she noticed that her hunch was correct - the connection had changed again. Now it was set for Canada. There was a default in the Floo powder, and it was messing up the connections! She was unsure if it was mixing up ALL the connections, or just the country specific one, but she had to make sure they were all fixed and reprogrammed just to be safe. Now, she just had to wait for her employees to return with their findings, and they'd be able to fix this issue for good! In the meantime, she glanced at the cat memo again and groaned. Ugh. She hated erratic employees. And other department heads. She didn't like anyone in general. |
Jayden headed for his boss's office after checking the fires in the atrium. He rapped lightly on the door and waited in the entryway for permission to enter. |

Jayden entered the office just in time to see Gabi drop a load of floo powder into the garbage can. "I take it your experiments didn't go well either." he said casually strolling in. "I got connected to Holland instead of Surrey." |
No rush yo Rusty knocked on the door, here in an official capacity of course. With all this floo business an Obliviator needed to be on hand to control the possible exposure to Muggles. He ran his hand through his hair and waited outside. |

"Did you happen to notice the color of the flame?" Gabi asked. She made a quick note that Jayden had also gotten sent to the wrong country as she waited for his response. |

He then looked around to see if his coworker was back. |

"Thank you very much for your time, Jayden. Do see if you can find Miss Eliza, please? I believe she was last spotted in the Environmental Department. DON'T bother Miss Carter, just...see if Eliza is there and report back to me so I can go...retrieve her" she said, glancing at her memo from Roxanne. "Come in!" she called once she heard someone knocking at the door. Goodness she needed some coffee to deal with all this madness! She flicked her wand and a pot of coffee started pouring itself in the corner. |
Jayden nodded. "Will do." he said. He then exited the office giving a quick nod to whoever it was that was here to see the Boss next. Now off to find Eliza. |

Sorry i totes forgot about this ah Quote:
"We really lucked out on this one - many of the floo networks that were affected directed people to OTHER wizarding homes. However, we did have 2 incidents in the UK where muggles witnessed wizards walking out of their fireplaces. The first family in question immediately bought the story from the muggle police that it had been a home invasion, especially since the wizard panicked and ran out the house through the backyard rather than going back through the fireplace. The second family, however, never received a call back from the muggle police, and the wizard in question DID go back through the flames, so chances are, they'll have to be obliviated," she said with a sigh. "But other than that, we were lucky. Thank you for your help," she said with a smile. "Lucky for you the caseload on this should be pretty light," she added with a chuckle. |
