He patted the leather pad that protected the wood of his desk when he wrote and smirk smally. He always knew he would make it back into this position again, he had wanted to rub it in wish the lady who had held his spot good luck with her future whatever back in Germany but hadn't seen her of late, but after he had recieved his original job back, nothing could have taken his mind off of it.
Admiring the portrait of himself over the mantle, Recard began to work on a few things that had been pressing him; like the nice new flat he was buying because of the pay raise again.
She was sure that the paint hadn't even dried on his office door but Layla was here to congratulate her former boss on regaining his position as department head. She knew that it wouldn't have been long anyways, but whatever the ministry was looking good again.
She knocked on his door but didn't wait to be called in. Of course she was still working closely with the minister on level one but meh, he'd understand right?
And there he was, just like she remembered him when she started at the ministry..in his chair looking dignified. She beamed. "Mr. Recard congratulations on getting your office back." The liaison officer said cheerily.

Seriously, he had adoring fans visitors already? He had barely gotten the place back to what it was supposed to look like.
Getting ready to open the door with a flick of his wand, Recard saw that he was too late as it had already begun to swing open, revealing the dark skinned and lovely Layla Decosta, a former employee of his and until recently coworker back on level one.
"Afternoon Layla." He said raising both of his hands in a small gesture of welcome. "It is nice, huh? It was almost a disservice leaving the Magical Transportation employees in someone else's keep while I was away. I think the Minister realized this." He was blowing hot air, he wasn't 100% sure himself why Alexander had given him is position back, but he really didn't care.

Maine hurried out of the elevator, blatantly ignoring the voice that announced the floor. She'd heard that Armen was back and honestly wanted to congratulate him. All idea of properness was promptly flung out the window. It didn't quite matter that she'd been transferred to a different department so much as she had to visit him.
Knock. Knock.
"Armen!" she beamed, poking her head in. Seeing noone in there, she entered. And stood in the room. In the department she used to work in. It brought back memories of a lot of different things.
But she did love her new job. It had her on her toes a lot more than issuing licenses ever did.

Layla beamed at him. Was a congratulatory hug too much? Perhaps. She offered a beaming smile instead."It is a good afternoon and yes very nice. I must say this position suits you a whole lot better than the one you previously held." And the one before that too but she wouldn't bring that up right now. And then he went on to her now boss , who was also his boss.
"Ah yes well Minister Greingoth is a smart man. He does know how to properly run this ministry."

Armen had been looking at his own smiling face in the portrait above his mantle when he heard the door being knocked on behind him.
"Come in."
As he turned around he saw familiar face staring back at him. "Maine? How are you?" He hadn't seen the woman in quite sometime and she had once been one of his most in contact employees. It was nice to see a friendly face after all that had been going on since his 'break' from Department Heading.

She was definately right on that note. Armen Recard had not really ever been happy working in the Minister Office's on level one, apart from the time he spent out of the office when he should have been working, when he went to the park and met with Gabi.
But then it seemed all sense went out of the woman with her next statement. Seriously, she thought the Minister was smart?
"Well you could say that I guess. He at least was smart enough to correct his wrong of having me step down before. It seems he sees how much the department needed me." Yeah, apparently Inez Grey hadn't quite filled his shoes while he was away. Too bad for her.

Maine looked around the office, noticing that some things had changed. Like the fact that the Muggle tricycle that used to hang above Armen's head was missing. She didn't doubt that it'd be back soon, though.
"I'm alright," she smiled, tilting her head slightly to eye the broom on the ceiling. "I've been working with the Task Force division on the Third Floor while you were away." And still am. "But I came down here to congratulate you on getting your old job back."
And she almost missed working here, but being on the same floor as some people would make her a little less productive than she'd like. And as much as she loved Leo, she needed distance. Twisting the ring on her right hand, she smiled to herself subconsciously.

As Maine had begun to talk, Armen couldn't help but look to his left breifly as the inhabitant of the portrait over his fireplace returned and was trying to mouth something to him about where his other frame was on the first floor. Even though the man, himself, was quite the looker, Recard peeled his eyes away from it to face the woman and friend speaking to him.
"Well that's good. Level three though? That's Accidents and Catastrophes, no?" That was interesting his friend and hopefully soon to be girlfriend worked there.
"Do you know a Gabriella Schultz?" Yeah he was curious about her more so than the missing file labeled with Maine's name in his personell binder.

Maine almost smirked to herself as she caught Armen eyeing his own portrait. So he hadn't changed that much at all, had he? Maine sure supposed not. Twirling a lock of brown hair around a finger, she eyed the motorcycle that hovered above her head suspiciously. It wasn't actually planning to bonk her on the head, was it?
"It is," she nodded. "I actually do," she beamed when he asked about Gabi. "She's in my division, a Charms Developer." And a generally awesome person to be around.

She did?
How wonderful? "Well Maine, Gabi is a good friend of mine." Yeah, you could say that. Technically they were still friends but Armen definately wanted to go further than that and had feelings that the woman felt the same way. He would need to talk to her about that sometime soon.
"So she's a Charms Developer, what do you do?" They were in the same division but did they do the same thing? Armen didn't mind spending sometime catching up with Maine, plus she knew Gabi and that was a definate plus.

Maine's left eyebrow was raised by just a millimeter. Good friends? She would've believed it if she hadn't seen the look in her former boss' eyes that told her otherwise.
Oh, her job. Right. "I'm a Task Force Agent," she said, smiling. "We work on new charms that the Developers invent and make them safe for the public to use. And on rarer occasions, recreate an original spell found at an Accidental Magic scene." It was way cooler that issuing licenses, but she held that part in.

Recard didn't pick up on any curious look Maine was giving him, and instead just commented on her new career.
"Task force agent? Well that sounds interesting. So you are on the front-lines so to speak? Have you ever come across anything dangerous?" Accidents and Catastrophes could be a dangerous department, the name alone showed that. Recard assumed it was stimulating work.
Gerti had wondered if all workers were supposed to visit their boss sometime in their first year and had hesitated because she didn't want to seem awkward. But by now she already heard of a few people who had done it, so that gave her encouragment.
She arrived at the door and gave it a gentle knock.

Furmy flew carefully through the Ministry, carefully navigating his way through to find the person he was looking to deliver this to. It took a little while, especially with his wonky wings carrying him, but he eventually managed to find the place the letter receiver would be and he flew into the room.
He paid little attention to any other people in the office and simply dropped the envelope onto the desk in front of the man sitting behind it. Then with a "Hoooo," he turned and flew back out.

Gerti watched the owl out of the corner of her eye as it flew towards the office. Here dark eyes followed it as it flew into the now open office. Well, the fact that the office was opened must have meant that her boss was now allowing visitors in, yes?

Armen had been reading a magazine about the top rated resturants by some famous Wizarding Cuisine expert when the owl arrived.
He had never really cared for when the creatures made their way into the Ministry complex but he wasn't going to turn it away. He took the letter and opened it to find the invitation to Jayden's wedding.
"Ah, how nice." He read through the invite and smiled, glad to see it was in Paris because he could stop and visit his parents and his little brother Eli when he was in the area. After checking the entree he wanted, he tapped the paper and sent it out to Jayden's desk. No need to waste money on an owl.

Then there was a knock. At least that meant there wasn't another owl.
"Come in." He set the magazine aside and pulled a few Floo Network fireplace requests infront of him on the desk to make it look like he was busy just incase he wanted to send whoever was behind the door away.

Gerti entered the office her eyes tracking the owl as it left the office. Then she turned to her boss and smiled. "Good morning Mr. Recard. I think you remember me from the party... I am Gertrude Ferdinand Muggle Item Researcher." She hesitated before going on. "There has been a problem that I thought you should be aware of." She waited for her permission to go on.

"Oh yes, Gerti come, have a seat." He had looked up as he greeted her and waved a hand at the two chairs across the desk from his own before returning his quill to the paperwork.
He was expecting some trivial statement that usually accompanies office visits but what the girl spoke of caused his attention to be raised. "Oh? And what problem is that?" Recard certainly didn't want to hear that there was a problem afoot level six.

Gerti sat down on the chair to the side and started "Well sir, as you know, my job is to go into muggle shops and collect objects which can then be used as Portkeys. Yesterday I spotted a wizard lurking around the shop. I knew he was a wizard because he was dressed oddly and he mutterred "Muggle". I watched him steal several shoes from the shop before leaving." She paused then before continueing "Of course I was curious as to where he was going, and he had committed a crime. I followed him from a distance until he reached Knockturn Alley. Once at Knockturn Alley I saw him meet up with three more wizards and a witch. They turned the objects into portkeys and then used them before I could do anything. And besides, I would not have tried to do anything all alone."
The break from work had been a nice one and allowed for Armen to travel back to his family home in France at the winery his family owns. He was able to see his brothers, his sister and her huband along with his nephew and of course his mother and father. The break had done him well but he was back and ready to work.
The Transportation Department Head poured himself a gillywater, removed his suit jacket and sat down to look over a few memos.

A purple paper airplane, complete with the emblem of the Ministry of Magic stamped along its sides, makes its ways through the lifts and corridors of the Ministry of Magic. Reaching its destination, the interdepartmental memo comes to rest in front of its intended recipient.
When unfolded, it reads:
Quote:
Department Heads of the Ministry of Magic:
It is of great importance that we meet to discuss recent happenings here at the Ministry of Magic. Please report for a meeting to be held in Courtroom Seven at one o'clock P.M. today. With you, please bring one or two employees having substantial evidence or information about the suspicious behavior exhibited by a number of our employees.
I look forward to meeting with you, and please remember to be on time.
Minister Alexander S. Greingoth
Minister of Magic, Great Britain

One, two....now four memos replied to and zooming out Recard's door making for a productive morning thus far.
After he was about to reply to a memo concerning a tip about a batch of odd brooms at Diagon Alley's Quality Quidditch Supplies shop, one with the Minister's Seal arrived giving the man cause to groan. 'What does Alexander want now?'
After reading it and sensing the urgency Armen stood up, grabbed his coat and sighed out of the room. Now who was he going to bring with him?

"I wonder if his Highness is around...." Eliza muttered as she walked towards the door to their Department Head's office in her usual I'm-a-busybody-so-don't-get-in-my-way fashion. Upon arriving, she saw a man outside. Someone who wasn't familiar on some many levels. She nodded at him casually and stepped closer to knock.
