Security Office The Security Office can be found up a flight of stairs and overlooking the Atrium. The windows overlooking the Atrium itself provide a perfect view of the goings-on below. It is a large, circular room divided by a counter. This is where you may speak to security personnel, or where you will be brought if security personnel which to speak to you, in which case you'll be seated in a small alcove to one side. It looks innocent enough until you notice there are subtle restraints attached to the chair, in case of emergency of course. There is a door to one side which leads behind the service desks, there is a sign on this door that says "MAGICAL LAW ENFORCEMENT EMPLOYEES ONLY BEYOND THIS POINT" Behind this door there are filing cabinets against one wall and a floo that leads straight to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement on level 2. Only DMLE employees are permitted to use this access. |
Floo's were not really his favourite thing, but Gabriel had wanted to avoid the crowds in the Atrium for now. It was more important for Blaise to see the areas he would need to be, and getting caught in the to and fro of the other employee's could wait. So it was with a puff of green smoke, that the Head of Security arrived on level 8 and into the security office there. Brushing himself down, and coughing slightly, he moved out of the way and went around the back of the large desk, to wait for his companion who was following close behind. |
Floo network.... well, that really wouldn't have been his first choice. The powder got in unwanted places sometimes. Ears, nose, mouth, between the toes, and so on. So following Gabe, even with a slight hesitation, he stepped into the green fireball and came out behind Gabe, looking into the office. And boy, was it neat. Windows everywhere, looking down onto the Atrium and across half of the Ministry it seemed. He noticed the sitting area, the counter, door, desks, and the big one that Gabe was standing behind. "How many Security people are normally here at one time?" he asked. "That, and how often is this place used other than for watching purposes?" |

Pointing to a chair, Gabriel moved over to one of his own and sat down, crossing his legs and folding his hands in his lap. Better to be sat down to answer these things, it was more comfortable. "Well usually the security officers, wand weighers and sentinels use this as their base, but at the moment we're waiting for the new influx of employee's. So, not very many at the moment." But he knew that Van was addressing that. "Ahh well, we've been using it for the internal security checks," Gabe said to the next question. And they still had a few more people to go on that. "Plus anyone we feel needs to be spoken to. This is where you would bring then first to talk, then perhaps to the holding rooms if you feel it necessary." He was asking good questions. This was good. |
Quote:
He listened as his answer was explained to him, and he frowned slightly at the mention of not enough employees. "So if we're short on employees, does that mean other employees, like myself, have to double up on work? Even though my area is lacking," he said, thinking out loud for the last part. "As in I'd help with wand weighing and patrolling, and the internal investigations like you said earlier." Which, that didn't sound too bad. Nothing like getting involved in things like the simple aspects like wand weighing and patrolling. |
Quote:
He eyed Blaise as the man took in the answer he had given him. And he wished he didn't have to say yes to the next question. "Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on your opinion," he smiled, "you will have to, yes. Mainly just patrolling, and investigations, right now, as I'm expecting a couple of wand weighers to start in the next few days." Hopefully they would turn up. Standing up, Gabriel walked over to the giant window and put his hands behind his back, surveying the scene below. People were milling around, going about their business. Thankfully all seemed well. "Talking of the investigations," he said, glancing back towards Blaise. "Those filing cabinets over there hold copies of all personal files, each labelled with the level and department. Also wand information gets transferred there for anyone that comes through as an employee. We'll be needing them when we call people in for chats in the investigations." |
Quote:
He watched Gabe get up and talk about the files and investigations and patrolling. "So what areas will I be patrolling, and looking for what? Also, by myself or with others?" He was sure he wouldn't be set off by himself right away, depending on the status of the Ministry and how busy it was. But hey, if Gabe thought he could do it then he would definitely try it out. No sense in not doing it. But the investigations part. "What are the interviews and investigations about?" That seemed... odd. Unless it was normal with new employees. |

Gabe turned his back on the window and focussed his attention on Blaise. Putting his hands in his pockets, he moved to the side and leant against the window frame. "For now I thought I'd set you on levels one, three and four. Just looking for anything you feel is suspicious, or isn't right - including people. I've been doing sweeps of the whole ministry myself, when I get the time, so if you would like me to accompany you to start with I'd be more than happy." The patrol officers themselves would cover the rest when they arrived. He'd be setting them straight to work. Hmm, he had a feeling the man might ask that. Rubbing his temples slightly, Gabe walked back over to the chair he previously been in and sunk into it. "Just standard security checks really," he said. "And with all the happenings outside the ministry lately - the shopkeepers being assaulted excetera - we're being extra cautious with everyone inside as well." But in a friendly way, as instructed by Van. Don't want anyone to be getting sus if they are one of the 'bad' guys. |
Quote:
He nodded as he mentioned patrolling the levels. That really wouldn't be too hard then. Either by himself or with Gabe. He'd figure out what one worked better. "Well, for now I can start off with you so I know what to look for. Then after I feel comfortable with that, I can head off by myself to whatever levels I need to be in, if there are others, besides the ones you had mentioned." It might be easier that way. A learning process, so he didn't report something that wasn't too suspicious. Key points to what is "suspicious" depended on the person, really. No need to freak out people for no reason. Frowning slightly at the mention of the stuff outside the ministry, he nodded his head again. "I knew about at least one of the attacks, but I didn't know about the others. Would we get sent out to Diagon Alley as well? Or is that for the Aurors?" Then he had another thought. "And how often has this been going on? Any leads?" Meh, he was asking a lot of questions, but he was sure Gabe expected it. |
Quote:
Unfortunately Gabe didn't know enough about the outside investigations to give Blaise a definitive answer to his next question. Well, the second of them. "No, that is the Auror's jurisdiction. We focus on internal security," he nodded, giving a little shrug of his shoulders. "As for timing and leads - I really can't say if there is anything definite. There are rumours about the Cult of Walpurgis, but I don't know how far Damien and his team have got with proving anything." Gabriel raised a brow and sighed. "Which is why we need to keep an eye out for things here. Discretely, of course." Didn't want anyone to figure things out and run, or whatnot. |
UGH I could NOT think >_< Quote:
But, it could happen. People these days. The Cult of what? "Erm, sorry. But, I don't know what the Cult of Walrus is, to be honest. Can you explain that one to me as well?" Walrus, Wallfurnace, whatever. He still hadn't heard of it. |
Quote:
"According to Auror intelligence, Minister Borr and the people he personally appointed to staff, are part of this Cult. Possibly some other ministry workers as well." Gabe ran a hand trough his hair and sighed. The problem they had was stopping them achieving their aims. "The attacks on shopkeepers have been linked to them, but we don't know why they're doing that. There have been some campaign posters around Diagon Alley, you may have seen one...." He might have done. Or maybe not. Blaise had called it 'Walrus' after all. |
Toni emerged from fireplace, she was trying it at last, floo wonder she think, she didn't tried it long after hogwarts, Toni prefered apparition as means of transport. "Oops", there is two people, around here, "Security people?" stepping inside the room, Toni gave a simple nod and smiles as greetings |
Quote:
Borr was behind it all somehow. Blaise just had a feeling before Gabe even mentioned it. That stupid, fat, arrogant ball of food. "That doesn't really make sense," he said. "On all the shopkeepers, or just certain ones? I mean..." he paused. What if... "What if those shopkeepers were the Muggle haters, or opposed Muggles knowing and that's why they're doing that?" OR... "Or they were attacking those shopkeepers to gain supplies they need for some sort of revolt or campaign to change people's minds?" It really wasn't his place... but maybe if Gabe thought it seemed plausible he would pass it on to Damien or someone like that. Quote:
Blaise cleared his throat. "Hello. You look a little lost. Can we help?" |
Quote:
Toni shake off some ashes, while looking to others , He is the one called Gabe, the Security Head, she gave him a simple vow as show of respect. The others is ... "Oh, I'm Toni, Dacs team member" she said, Isn't it rude not to introduced name right. |
Quote:
How awkward was this? He didn't want to be rude, but it was part of his training right now and they had been interrupted. He didn't know what to do, so he just folded his arms and looked back at Gabe. Considering the topic they had been discussing, he didn't know who should or shouldn't hear it. |
Quote:
Then the rumble of the floo caught his attention, and Gabe to turn around in his seat to see who Blaise was speaking to.... Quote:

Gabe was about to say something when the woman introduced herself to Blaise, and he did the same in return. Now it was his turn. "Miss Hunters," he began with a smile, looking across at his Event Liaison, who by now had crossed arms. "We're in the middle of a meeting right now. It's Blaise's first day, and I'm filling him in on everything he needs to know. As much as it's nice that you are exploring the ministry, would you mind giving us a little privacy? We're nearly finished." He gave her a warm smile when he stopped speaking, hoping she didn't think he was dismissing her rudely. He didn't want to do that. And, in fact, they were nearly finished. The new recruit knew everything about the levels, and the Cult discussion could carry on at another time. Thinking for a second, Gabe suddenly stood up and looked at Blaise. "As a matter of fact, why don't we set off on the first patrol? Level one needs constant checking." He gave the man a knowing look. You know...because of BORR, and his cronies. Urghh. Not so much for people trying to get in there. |
Quote:
No, that wouldn't happen. He listened to Gabe explain to Miss Hunters that it was a private conversation, but then he changed to patrolling level one, which was perfectly fine with him. He nodded, getting up from the chair and heading towards the door. "It was nice to meet you Miss Hunters," he said, nodding his head politely before heading in the direction towards the door. |
Quote:
Toni just say "Nice to meet, don't worry, I just passing by, no need to worry about, my mouth is zipped unless permission to say so, bu upper ups" she gavi him assureance of safeness, she saw an early paranoia from Blaise Quote:
Toni walked toward doors, she is exploring the possible ways of getting in and out of ministry, and no need to stand by a lot in one places. |
Divine Eagle Having deposited the file into the relevant cabinet, it was now to business - getting Richard set up in what was more his office. Level 8. Exiting the floos, which he was having to get more used to doing, considering they still didn't have their apparition licenses back - Gabriel moved over to the wand registry filing cabinet to get out the way of Richard when he came through. Once he'd arrived they would go through the door and into the office proper. |
After passed the security gate, Adler reached the Security Office. He saw nobody there. "So quiet here, is here the Security office?" asked him doubtful. |
Quote:
The inner child in him was thinking of all the pranks he would of played, but he was grown up now, and this was a place of business. He followed Gabriel through the floos, surprised when he spotted a memo on the floor that said they couldn't apparate. What is the minister up to now? "Is this a joke?" he asked quietly after picking it up. |
Alex walked in to the security office she was sure someone would tell her the proper place to go.She asked to anyone who would care to listen,"Excuze me, but where do I go?I`m Aleksandrina Dimnitrov, a new MLE patrol officer." |
Quote:
"But anyway, Richard, I just wanted to tell you about these cabinets. They house all the wand registries from people that enter the Ministry down there," Gabe pointed in the general direction of the Atrium. "Visitors have their own draw, and there is one for each department. It makes it easy to find the information if one is used for violent purposes, or is lost." He took out his own form and showed it to the new man to see, just so he knew what it was all about. "And this one here holds details of any interviews with....suspicious people...we hold in this office." Smiling at him, Gabriel pushed open the door into the main office and was about to walk through when he was confronted by a person he did not know was there.... Quote:
"Yes, this is the Security office. I'm Gabriel Vartann, head of security. Can I help you?" More importantly, why are you in one of my offices? There had to be a good reason. Quote:
Smiling at her, Gabe extended a hand when she said her name. "Gabriel Vartann, head of security. Nice to meet you Miss Dimnitrov. MLE patrol officer you say? In that case you need to head on up to level 2 and find Miss Dacosta. She is your boss, as it were. I presume you've already met Mister Bole, the department head of MLE?" He felt not unlike a tour guide all of a sudden. |
