Security Check Point
|
Melissa walked up to the Security Checkpoint. She liked the idea of having an Employee Orientation. 'Merlin knows, I barely know anybody in my office, let alone the MLE Department and the entire Ministry. I sure didn't start off on the right foot either.' Melissa remembered the bad moment in her life where she had lost her temper at a fellow work mate. Melissa picked up the clipboard and filled in the information. Text Cut: Clipboard She then handed over the clipboard, picked up a name tag & handed over her wand with both hands to her Department Head. "Hello Mr. Ferguson. It is good to see you again. I'm Melissa Potter." Melissa smiled at him in greeting. |
Julia strode in, just in time for the Orientation. She looked around and saw, aah, formalities! Can't they just use magic? She sighed and walked towards the desk, thinking about how there would be no formalities if she were to do it. Julia took the quill and jotted down the details on the clipboard. Name: Julia Smith Dept: MLE, IUMO She placed the quill, took a name-tag and moved over to the wand weighter. It was Mr.Ferguson. Wait, what? Oh, what is he doing here? Wand weighting? Julia took out her wand and produced it. "Fancy seeing you here chief" she said, smiling at Wesley. "Aren't you not planning to enjoy the orientation with us?" she asked. |
Finally the ministry seemed to be getting back to normal. Well as normal as being introduced to things some of which he already knew. Funny they hadn't had anything similar when he first joined, why he didn't know but it might of saved him some headache. Oh well, whatever the reason for not then but now, Simon was glad to be returning to some sense of work, having been trying his best to keep busy during the break. Approaching the security checkpoint, the YATI spotted his department head being the one running the wand weighing. Interesting choice given the fact one might have supposed the usual workers at the task would continue. In fact those already there seemed to be from their level as well. "Good day, Boss," he greeted as he picked up the clipboard to sign himself in. Quote:

Elizabeth came to the security check point and smiled at the department had." She picked up the clipboard and signed herself in. Quote:
|
Gabriela Schultz smoothed her blonde hair down as she approached the weighing station, smiling politely at the man she assumed was head of security. She had been so BORED waiting for this orientation--Tucker wasn't even home to keep her company anymore. He'd left her for Hogwarts, and got sorted in to Hufflepuff of all places. Needless to say, she had taken quite a while to get over that terrible tragedy. He'd written her five letters begging to come home and be homeschooled, but she would not allow it. Hogwarts was the finest institution for young wizards, and she was not about to let her son pass that up, despite a horrible error in the Sorting Hat's judgement. Putting those thoughts out of her mind, she signed her name happily on the clipboard. Quote:
|
Millie walked into the check point.. Orientation.. this was new but hey better then doing actual work when coming back from a long vacation like that. She was excited to be going back to work. her husband was on her floor and things were looking up for the strawberry blond haired woman. good good good Upon coming up to the desk she signed herself in Name: Millie Myers Department:MLE;MMAO yeah that would do fine right. she then looked up and saw.. Her department head "Oh Hello Mr.Ferguson!" she said to him.. he remembered who she was right.. cause your suppose to know your employees right, right. why was he doing the wand weigh ins? SHe handed over her precious wand to him and allowed him to weight in in. |
Annalise walked into the Security Checkpoint, smiling nervously over at people as she passed. This would be about the fourth time she had been here, and FIINALLY she had a job. Tossing back her long blonde hair, she leaned down and picked up the sign-in clipboard. Quote:
*sigh* |
Victoria BEAMED. New job, new people, new friends. That was good. Quote:
|
Blahhhhhh - whatever. Ella regretted being here the second she walked through the door. But taking the clipboard, she wrote down, rather messily... Quote:
|
Ellis walked in with all smiles on her first day. She walked up to the security check point and filled out all the necessary information: Name: Ellis Wesley Department: Ministers Office She picked up a name tag, pulled out her wand and placed it to the department person in front of her. She didnt know the persons name so she just went with a greeting - "Hello, good morning" |
Victoria was happy to be back at the ministry. How exciting! She walked in passing a few others she knew, nodded, smiled and continued walking towards the Security Check Point. When she arrived there she took the clip board and wrote her information down. Name: Victoria Summit Department: Minister of Magic's Office. She placed the clip board back where she got it and got herself a name tag. Taking out her wand and handed it to the person. "Good morning," she said. |
Dacs enetered the ministry with her usual swagger; the one that said, 'I will hurt you if you touch me.' As she approached the wand weigher, she realized it was her boss. "Cutting back on costs?" she said with a mischievous smile as she handed him her wand,"It's good to be back, it's home. Plus, I love the smell of fresh meat in the morning along with some coffee." YAY. MLE people were FIRST! This post goes out to Kat. ;) Quote:
"This one yours? 11¼ inches Cherry and Phoenix Feather?" Quote:

Interesting last name, there. Quote:
He'd need a description of it first. Quote:

"Wand please." He held out his hand, palm up. Quote:

Just had to make sure they matched. Quote:

"Simon! Man of the hour!" Wes greeted the man-boy rather cheerfully (for him) and actually moved around the sign-in table to clap him on the shoulder. "I was just waiting for you, YATI. Would you mind filling in for me and taking over the wand-weighing station here? Just for a bit, you know, or until your other YATI shows up..." Would Josh even show up? Time would only tell. Wes gave Simon another reassuring pat, adding, "All you have to do is run the wands through and make sure the wand the machine read matches the wand description they give you. I'm sure you'll do a good job, you know, as a future auror." Nothing wrong with him learning some humility and how the Security division worked and all that. Wes quickly handed out the few wands he had weighed, gave Simon another CHEERY smile, and headed off to join the rest of the department heads. Whew, the hardest part of the day was through. |
Victoria walked through the gates. She was so nervous. Her first day and she knew no one. That's what happened when you move from a different country to a new job, new home, and basically a new life. But this was what was best for her and her son, so she stepped to the security and smiled. "Hello" She wasn't sure what she was doing, but hoped not to do anything wrong. Looking at the clip board she signed it: Quote:
|
So this was the ministry. Gavin took an extra moment at the door before entering. This would be the first day on the job and he supposed he was excited; if you could call it that. Maybe apprehensive would have been the better chose of words. In a place filled with so many people he could only imagine the work that got done. Deciding to be prompt about it he walked up to the security checkpoint and snatched up the clipboard. "Good morning." He muttered as he filled it in. Quote:

ooc: Totally making this wand up on the fly haha don't think I ever took the quiz Quote:
"12 inches, oak, with unicorn hair core," she replied with a smile. Ok Mister Security Man, hand it over so I can go in already! |
just replying to you two and then Simon (Macavity) is in charge! ;) Wes handed over the last few wands and then left Simon to it. Quote:

Jade walked into the security check point area a little stunned by the vast amount of people. In the year or so that she had been at the ministry she hadn't seen so many in one place. But then she tended not to go to the big ministry gatherings preferring the company of those in her own department. She stepped up to sign her name Quote:
"I'm Jade Gemstone." She handed him her wand, "Chestnut and Unicorn core". |
SPOILER!!: Wes "Simon! Man of the hour!" Uh oh. Boss being especially happy to see you was usually not a good sign and an excited Wes was no different. Especially as he moved around the table and came up beside him, clapping him on the shoulder. Could he run? Disapparation was certainly out given the wards that were no doubt in place. But no...he was caught and Simon was just going to have to take it like a man. Or a Gryffindor. Though the idea of him taking over the wand weighing task wasn't a pleasant one. He would be stuck there instead of being AROUND until he was relieved. And that was IF his friend Josh even showed up. Inward groan. "Alright," he said, slipping his own wand back inside its home and nodding as Wes described what he had to do, understanding the gist of it. Simon just hoped he didn't get any troublemakers for he was not in the mood to handle them. He half-forced a smile as the department head walked away leaving him alone, the YATI taking a deep breath before walking behind the table and turning to the next in line. "Next..." Quote:
First was a woman who from her sign-in was from Games and Sports. New to it if his observance was correct. "Good day, Miss Maroon," he said returning her greeting and trying to put on an air of politeness and professionalism. He had to be proper hadn't he? "Just started actually so your my first customer," he answered accepting the offered wand and slipping it through the machine. "Could you tell me your wand's characteristics." Quote:
Quote:
"Here you are," Simon said handing her back her newly polished wand. " Good day." |
Quote:
Then she looked ahead to where she might be walking, biting her lip she looked at him again, "Could you point me in the right direction of where to go. This is my first day and I am already feeling a bit lost." |
Quote:
Now that she had signed in and got her wand tested, Jade couldn't decide what she would do next. She saw the sign for the "meet and greet" area and thought that was a good place to start. |
Manolo walked up to the checkpoint, a bit nervous. It was his first professional job, after all. He ran his hand through his hair as he waited in line, then walked up and grabbed a name tag and wrote down his name. Manolo J. Black Dept: Magical Creatures He walked up to the wand weighing-er. "Good day, sir." |
Gabriela smiled. "Thank you," she said as she took her wand from the man's hand. Now on to important matters--finding Armen. She was just bursting with agitation at the whole Hufflepuff situation, she was going to scream if she couldn't complain soon! She pocketed her wand and made her way past security and in to the event. |
Step one, line up and sign the clip board. Beijing took the quill and signed her name below Manolo. J. Black's, then wrote that she was from the Minister for Magic's Office. After setting the quill down for the next person, she moved forward in line to where nametags were layed out."Oh, nametags. Nice" she said, picking up hers and slinging it around her neck. Alright, step three. Time to get my wand weighed, she thought. Beijing smoothed out her dress."Hello" she said, approaching the man and handing over her wand. "It's an Elder with a Pegasus Wing Feather" she said "thirteen inches". |
SPOILER!!: Victoria "So far so good," Simon said with a polite smile, patiently awaiting her answer to his question. With a nod as he checked out the connection and saw that what she said matched the read-out, the YATI handed the wand back to her. "Thank you. All set." He was ready to watch her leave so he could move onto the next when she threw a stone into the works and asked for assistance on where to go next. "Um..." he mused thinking as he looked around. Simon hadn't seen much of the area to know what was what before being pulled into his current task. "I don't believe there is any set way of doing things. Though perhaps the meet and greet might be a good place to start," he suggested pointing over to the appropriate area. Thank goodness he could see any notations from a distance to help him out. SPOILER!!: Jade "You're welcome." Well that was one successful transaction down and one less he had to deal with at the moment. "Next please..." Simon said awaiting the next employee to approach him and the wand-weighing table. SPOILER!!: Manolo For once the person who came up to him seemed to be younger then his 20+years. Certainly a newcomer to the ministry but that wasn't a bad thing by any means. The sir directed his way would certainly take some getting used to though and Simon couldn't help but wonder if anyone would be new in his department this time around. "Good day," he returned in kind. "Your wand please," he instructed holding out his hand slightly to accept it. SPOILER!!: Beijing Alright...next one up and ready. The woman came up and signed in, grabbed a name tag that changed to her name and finally was before him for the last task at hand. "Hello," Simon echoed taking in hand the wand handed over to him. "Alright," he said with a nod as she described its characteristics, the YATI sending the wand through the weigher to check everything over. "Well it all check out so your good to go." With that being said, Simon returned the wand to its rightful owner. |
New year, new ministry. Gia was excited to be here, make no mistake. She had legit lived in Italy her whole life. She did love it there, but a break was needed. Besides, she needed to get put more, and explore her horizons! Not that she has problems with that kind of stuff or anything. Purse slung over her shoulder, she click-clacked along past the golden gates, heading towards the employee orientation check-in. By the looks of it, this shouldn't be much different than back at the Italian ministry! Same old drill: hand in your wand and you're ready to go!! Stepping in the line for checking, she slips imbed herself in on the queue, and picked up a name tag. In her elegant script, she signed: Giacinta "Gia" Barbieri Accidents and Catastrophes The line went quicker than Gia expected, prompting her to pull out her wand. Slipping her wand out of her holster in an ever-so-careful manner, she presented it to the wand weigher. "Hullo! I'm Giancinta Barbieri." GRIN. She could just feel the excitement!! "Abelia, Peacock feather core, 12 1/2 inches." |
Quote:
"It's a 12 1/2" Ash with dragon heartstring...unyielding I believe..." The perfect wand for him. "Is there anything else you'd like to know?" Like how many spells it casts daily, or how's about the case it sleeps in? No? |
Caedwyn didn't mind standing in line, mostly because she enjoyed trying to figure out where new people worked and waving at those she knew. It was a shame she was too far back to say hello to Wes, but by the time she stepped to the front of line, one of those nice YATI gentlemen was taking wands. She handed hers over before putting her information on the clipboard. Quote:
|
Text Cut: Simon Manolo took his most prized object out from his coat pocket and handed it over. "Here you go." He paused while he remembered his wand's characteristics. "It's 11 inches and Mahogany, as I recall." |

Beaming as she looked around the place, Cora took her place in line to sign in and do the wand weighing thing. This was so exciting! She officially felt like she belonged here in England, as she'd hoped she would, now that she had a job at the Ministry and thus had a place in the Wizarding World here. Exactly what she wanted. Once she the line moved up enough to allow her to reach the clipboard, she pocked it up and signed herself in. Quote:

Here We Go! First day at the British Ministry. Saul came to the back of the line dragging a terribly broken Unicycle with him. He himself didn't look to pleasant either, He tried for his 35th attempt at mastering his flying unicycle on his way here. He made it about 5 minutes before flipping upside down and plummeting to the ground, wrecking his bike and dirtying his clothes. He peeked his head out from the back of the line to see just how many more people were in front of him before he came to the front. He watched as one older fellow stepped away from the desk and put someone else in charge of the line as well. How very unprofessional abandoning his post and forcing someone from the line to do his work. Who was that man? After a while Saul made his way to the front and looked down at the clipboard. He leaned his broken Unicycle against the desk gave the guy behind the desk a very poor and awkward smile. Taking the quill Saul signed his name and ministry position down on the list Quote:

Taking her place in the security check in queue with a smile etched across her pale features; Natasha was excited to be back at work after the unexpected but no less welcome vacation. Making sure she had her wand safely tucked into its holster the blond woman took in the faces of both new and old works as they waited for their turn. Relaxed and in a cheery mood she let the queue move her forwards in its own pace and up to the clip boards section. With neat but efficient hand writing she signed herself in. Quote:

One thing was for certain. Right as the sight of the security check point entered her line of vision, Evelyn had to fight the urge to apparate straight back to New Zealand. This meet and greet made her wake up earlier than she wanted to and actually got her out of the apartment which she was none too pleased about. Especially considering the 'meet and greet' part. However, standing tall and looking like her usual self, complete with perfect scowl, Evelyn sighed and reluctantly took her place in line. It was only when it was her turn did she see just who was running the check point. The unexpected familiar face brought a smile to her own. "Simon!" she greeted rather happily as she picked up the quill to sign in. "How did you manage to get stuck here for the orientation?" And not having to mingle with each person for more than a minute. Quote:

Maine joined the queue, waited a Quote:
"Hornbeam, 11 3/4 inches. Crystallized boomslang venom and demiguise hair." she beamed. She was proud of her wand. Very much so. It was a strange combination, but she was a strange person. Now. Can she have it back now? |
EEK. Her first BIG GIRL job. Despite moving away from home for the first time (not counting school, of course) Hershey was not nervous, she was just EXCITED. She was out to prove something with this job, prove to her parents that she could TOTALLY work on the dragon reservation, maybe even take over some day. Siiiigh. As the line moved, she snapped out of her thoughts and signed in on clipboard. Quote:

SPOILER!!: Gia "Good day, Miss Barbieri." It seemed to be getting easier with each time, especially with the ones used to the procedure or simply following the person before them. There they were wand already out and waiting with information. "Rather interesting wand..." Simon mused as he accepted it and ran it through the check. Abelia and peacock feather core was certainly not a common bunch of wand characteristics. "There you go, all set," he said handing it back to her. SPOILER!!: Man Right...ash with dragin heartstring. Just like the read-out he was getting as the wand went through the check. "Nope that is all," he assured the man, taking the polished wand back out and handing it back to its owner. "There you go. Have a good day." SPOILER!!: Cade "Yes, it would appear so," he commented as he took his co-worker's wand as it was offered. Simon nodded at her description almost feeling foolish at his task as he trusted the likes of one Cade Howard. Nevertheless it was required and he ran the wand through the machine, the results coming up connected just as what was expected. "All good of course," he replied returning it back to her. SPOILER!!: Manolo "Thank you," Simon said as he accepted the wand, turning just a smidge to add it to the wand-weigher. "You recall the wood correctly. What type of core?" No doubt it was a simple omission but he was sure Wes would want him to be thorough in his work. SPOILER!!: Cora The YATI waved up the the next person in line, a woman who appeared to be about his age. What do you know, he could work on his observation skills while working on the security check-point. Bet Wes had intended that all along...beside the whole plan to drag Simon and/or Josh into the ordeal. "Hello," Simon greeted with a polite smile as he took hold of the offered hand. "It has its pros and cons." Like staying in one place most if not all of the time, though surely he would be relieved at one point unless that was another test...endurance. Slipping his wooden charge into the machine, he turned away to see the response he got, nodding his head in acceptance as he listened to the girl and the two things agreed with one another. "All matched up and set," Simon said taking it back out and handing it to her. "There you are." SPOILER!!: Annalise Ooops. It appeared Wes had still been helping someone when he switched the duty to him to handle. "Sorry. I'll be handling the wand-weighing from now on," Simon said accepting the wand she had meant for his boss. He nodded at her description, repeating it over in his head as he put the wand through the machine. Sure enough, the descriptions matched and everything was a-ok. "Eleven inches, Hawthorne with a Dragon Heartstring core. There you are," Simon said handing it back to her newly-polished. There was a benefit to the check. SPOILER!!: Saul When the next person, a young man, approached the desk, Simon wasn't quite sure how to respond to the...item that was left on the ground as he signed in. Was that a...unicycle? How had he gotten to the ministry? The YATI shook his head absently and pushed back his focus at the task at hand. "I dont believe the sturdiness is needed. More of a note from the wand-maker. " Nevertheless the rest of it checked out and Simon moved to hand the wand back to him. "There you are. Have a go-- better day." SPOILER!!: Tasha The next person was certainly pleased to be here. And unless Simon was extremely mistaken, a returning employee he might have seen around the ministry's hallowed halls sometime in his few years here. "Good day," he greeted the woman as she signed the clipboard and greeted him. Accepting her wand and putting it through as he listened, Simon shook his head at her question. "Nope that is all. And your all set," he said turning back to her, her wand in his hand for her to take back. SPOILER!!: Ev Another friendly face though more friend then the division head he had worked with earlier. "Hello Evelyn," he greeted with a genuine smile to match her own sent his way. "I think Wes was planning all along to give it me or your boyfriend when we came in and I got here first," he explained with a shrug. Why else would the department head have been doing here if not for a simple 'holding of someone's place'? And he had been overly eager to hand it off so it made sense to have actually be intentional. "You wouldn't happen to know if he has any intention of making an appearance would you?" Not to say the former Slytherin was Josh's keeper but she would likely know better then anyone else. SPOILER!!: Maine "Next," he said waiting for the next in the queue, the very long queue to move up to the front and be ready for their check in. Simon figured they had hit a busy time in the arrivals, inwardly hoping it might slow down eventually though he showed no signs of fatigue. At least most of if not all of those who he faced had been pleasant about the whole thing, a good deal seemingly experienced in the proceedure. The former GRyffindor accepted the wand of his latest customer and put it through, a raised eyebrow going up as he listened to the description. "Interesting," Simon mused looking briefly up from his work and to the woman before back to the machine. "And a complete match. There you are." The rather unique wand handed back to its mistress. SPOILER!!: Hershey Another of the younger members of the ministry and clearly her first day here. Well this was the main reason for the orientation was it not? Simon returned her smile with a polite one of his own, it may be a tedious job but he wasn't going to be a grouch about it. "Hello," he greeted politely, accepting the offered wand after she signed in. She seemed to be getting the hang of things quickly. The YATI moved to send the wand through the machine, paying attention both to what the young woman and the wand-weigher were 'saying' to him. "Everything looks good," Simon said taking the wand back and holding it out for her. "Here yo go." |
Katherine was ready to party. She had bought a rather expensive dress, borrowed her mother's gold earrings and picked out the most dazzling pair of heels to go with her outfit. In other words, the twenty-three year old was overdressed. Overdressed and overexcited. In her defense, she had been anticipating Orientation Day since she first got the approval letter. So, her excitement was justified. Heels click-clacking against the spotless floor, Kat made her way over to the queue and waited for her turn. She couldn't help but smile at the people in the line - they could be her colleagues! And maybe even future friends. Time passed by quick and soon it was her turn. With a slight nod of her head at the security office, the girl jotted down her name and department in a clean, cursive handwriting. Quote:
|
Manolo slapped himself mentally. He forgot the core. He was more nervous than he thought. "Sorry sir, it's a dragon heartstring core." |
Quote:
And now it was time to move out of the way. Perhaps she'd catch up with Simon later. "Good luck. Try to stay out of trouble," she offered before moving past the check point. |
Quote:
"I'll come back and grab it before I head out." That was to much of a request was it? He sure hoped it wasn't. |
Quote:
Her grin widened once her wand went through fine. Not that she hadn't expected it to, of course. She had no reason to lie or be shifty or anything. "Thank you!" she replied as she accepted her wand and slipped it back into its holster. "Have fun!" She gave him a little wave before joining the rest of the people who'd made it through the line. |
SIGH. With a slightly paler face than usual, Amy walked up to the back of the line and stood there, waiting. Frankly, she didn't feel too great. She had thrown up most of her dinner earlier on and she kept on finding her mouth filled with a little too much saliva. Maybe this is what happens when you go through a short period of heartbreak. UGH. Yes. She just hadn't had a proper kiss in so long. That was it. But, there were a lot of other girls who went through heartbreak and, well, they weren't affected. So why did she have to be the one to be affected in such a horrible manner? Sweet Merlin, she was beautiful, not some sort of horrible goblin. She did not deserve this. The queue moved forwards and Amy took a couple of tentative steps forward. No, she wasn't sick. Okay. Perfect. If she was sick she wouldn't be able to flip her hair or flirt with some hunky guys so... she refused to be sick. Right, and this was a meet and greet and some part of her, the side that was an angel in disguise, just knew that she had to meet some new people, men and women. Once she reached the clipboards, the brunette took the quill up in her hands and started scribbling her name and department down. It wasn't a lot of information that she had to note down but, for some reason, she found her face relaxing a little too much and a glazed expression crossed her face. Quote:
And then, a couple of seconds later, the woman jumped slightly, her eyes widening in shock. What had just happened?! And why had that just happened? See, she wasn't flirting or staring into the depths of a beautiful man's eyes so there had to be some sort of weird explanation for all this. Amy looked down at the clipboard. Oh... all filled out. Had she really done that? Shrugging, she set the quill down. 'Least it was done now. Amy looked up at the man and smirked. "Why hello there!" Not too bad looking, Mister. The woman, gladly, handed the man her wand. "There you go! It's 11 3/4 inches, chestnut with a dragon heartstring core." |
Oops forgot to post in here lol! and Making up the wand XD Tyler walked upto the counter on his first day at the Ministry, he couldn't wait to get started and getting into the job that he had been assigned to. But first he needed to let them know he was here, that was just good manners so that they knew he was on duty to work now. Quote:

Quote:
Only one eyebrow lowered as a smirk appeared on her lips. "Not trying to make the slip are you?" she asked, handing her 10 ⅓ inch stained ash wood with a basilisk fang core wand over to him. "Though really, I have no idea. He may or may not. I don't even know why I'm here." |
Kyleigh made her way into the orientation area. She walked slowly - she was just glad she had stopped drooling for now at least - and she looked more normal, more like herself than she had in weeks. Her skin was slightly pale though - especially for herself. She glanced up and squeaked as she saw who it was that was weighing the wands. Brilliant. He'd probably be afraid she'd eat his brain but that was her own fault. Taking her wand out she got ready to hand it over to Simon. Taking a piece of paper she wrote down her nametag. Quote:

SPOILER!!: Katherine In a quick glance between witches and wizards, Simon had allowed his gaze to wander out to the other areas, his curious and observant eyes seeing those he had already checked in. Looking back directly in front of him he spotted his next customer and noticed her dress first of all. Definantly first day...and just a little over the top. Not that he was going to say anything. That was not his job. His job was to simply weigh the wands and check them against the gathered information. "Thank you," Simon said accepting the offered wand. He nodded as the young woman told him about her wand, placing said wand through the machine to check it out. "A wand-weigher," he answered though honestly to him a weird name since it wasn't really weighing much. "Here you are though...all checked." Another wand safely returned to owner. SPOILER!!: Manolo "No trouble," Simon assured him. "I simply had to make sure everything was as it should be." The YATI then removed the wand from machine, holding it out for the young man to take. "There you go. Have a good day." SPOILER!!: Cade At least the woman didn't think it the task was warranted on his behalf. Whatever bossman's reasonings were. Not he could have really protested it. He did however raise an eyebrow at the division head's words. Simon had honestly forgotten about the prize the Auror office had gained during the training. Perhaps it would be a nice outing once the hullaballuo of the reopened Ministry died down. "Thank you," he replied with a nod. "I'll try not to," he added fighting back the urge to let out a chuckle. It would be a change in pace though. "Next..." SPOILER!!: Saul He wanted to leave the unicycle there? Um...well there was no point in him carrying it around the orientation, especially broken. "I...supposed you can," Simon answered after a few moments paused. Hopefully no one would have a problem with it. "Just don't forget it," he added holding out his hands to take it so he could put it behind the desk and out of reach of people able to trip over the mangled object. SPOILER!!: Amy A girl who appeared around his age was next in the queue, approaching the desk when it was her turn. She seemed to jump however in shock after signing in and Simon couldn't help wondering if something was wrong. "Are you okay miss?" he asked a touch concerned and as well as alert to what might happen. The next minute she was smirking at him oddly and saying hello. "Um...hello." Okay Simon, relax, he berated himself and moved to handle her and her wand. He nodded his thanks as he accepted the offered wand and ran it through his wand-checker. "Right...all set," he said handing it back to her. SPOILER!!: Tyler First impressions and appearances could sometimes be misleading. Such as someone believing an older man was a returning employee to the Ministry rather then a new one. However it was good that Simon hadn't made that assumption for the man's first words spoke of him just joining the ranks. "Well then welcome," he greeted as he took the offered wand from him. Putting it through, he watched the results come back, once more matching up quite smoothly. "And you passed your first test," he replied in half-jest returning the polished wand. "Have a good day." SPOILER!!: Evelyn "Funny..." Simon mused in half tease. No one said he had to be strict in his duties. He waited for her to offer her wand, not about to ask for it seeing as she was another he quite trusted. However she seemed as if hesitant about being so. "Ev...?" he questioned quietly before she finally handed it over, running the test while she answered his original question about Josh. "No...though Josh was hinted as my possible relief and I'd rather not stay right here all day." Even patroling you had some movement unless it was an absolute stake-out but even then you switched up. "To see me of course..." he said to lighten the tension. "Your wand description?" SPOILER!!: Kyle Simon absently looked over at the sign in sheet to see who might be his next customer only to see two familar names though not exactly expecting them together much. Kyle...Tanner?! She had switched it over? Looking back up in front of him the YATI came face to face with his friend and ex. He froze unsure of what to say or do given their last real interaction though he had to admit she certainly looked better this time around. "Um...hey," he finally said, things being a little strange between them. Great job, Bennett...real nice. |
Sky made her way into the orientation area. It was a long line but Sky was way to far back to say hello to the bossman, by the time she got to the front it was the YATI Simon that was now doing that. "Hello, Simon. She said as she handed over her wand as she had seen many others do before her. Taking a piece of paper she wrote down her name. Quote:

No eating friends. Exes. Or anyone. That was her rule. "H-um, hey..." she fumbled with the edge of her skirt. "Ugh sorry i tried to eat you?" She whispered quietly. "It was lack of sleep im sure of it...I got checked out and nothing came across when I went to mungos so I'm right as rain" she smiled. Yeah but why then did she not feel like her old self? Pre-what-ever-that-was-self? Oh maybe because she was face to face with someone whom she had tried to eat's face off. And no his face it didn't look tasty... "er...should...I um tell you the wand type? Of course silly. Its new - old one kind of broke...its 11 1/2 inches long white oak with a red oak handle and its got a unicorn hair core" she smiled. Ironic. Her patronus was a unicorn. |

Security Check Point. As usual, it was the same as Scotland. London can't be an exemption. Once Ivee arrived, she handed her wand at the guy assigned. She wrote down the needed information in a piece of parchment then handed it to the dude. Quote:

Oh, wand description. "Um, ten and a third inches, ash wood, and a basilisk fang core." She was surprised the machine couldn't figure it out, what with all it's...weirdness. "Simon, if Josh does show up and you're off duty, you'll come tell me, right?" |
With a healthy looking tan to his already handsome features, Aron stood in line and waited for his turn to have his wand weighed and all that jazz. Yeah, he was a little later than he had intended...but he often lost track of the time with Seren came to visit and stay for the weekend. Heh. Stepping up to the clipboard, Aron tugged on his necktie to loosen it up a bit - he hated being in such a stuffy situation. Hence why he was still in jeans despite this being a more formal setting. Hey, he HAD worn a suit jacket, dress shirt, and vest. He was a few steps away from his usual t-shirt and jeans look he wore to the office. Quote:

SPOILER!!: Sky The queue eventually gave way to another MLEr, SImon reconizing the hitwizard that stepped up lext in line. "Hello Sky," he returned her greeting with a polite smile, accepting the wand from her with a "Thank you." Running it through the machine, he looked back at his co-worker as he awaited results. "Describe your wand please." SPOILER!!: Kyle Simon was sure to anyone watching the two of them, including those online behind Kyle, would have found them entertaining. Two friends being all thumbs at the meer sight of each other even though they had known each other for at least 4 years. "Its okay," he assured her. The YATI certainly didn't think anything that happened was truly her fault. He nodded as she went on, a smile gracing his face as he rebooted his movementts glad to see things had checked out. "Thats good to hear. I'm glad you're feeling better." I was worried...terrified and extremely concerned more like it but Simon didn't want her to feel more self-conscious then she already seemed to be about the whole ordeal. Right...wand weighing. Simon was brought back to the task at hand as Kyle placed her wand down between them, the former Gryffindor reaching to pick it up. "Ye-" he started to answer as he placed the wand in the machine before the scribe replied for herself, giving the required information. "Then it matches perfectly." Not that he would have doubted it. Simon released it from the weigher and reached over to hand it back to her. "Here you go." Quote:
"Right...there you are," Simon said returning her wand to her. "Have a good day." Quote:
"Of course," he said handing it over to her. "Can't let him escape notice. You're all set." SPOILER!!: Aron Another staffer from within his department came up on the line, though from the other main office like Cade. The herbology expert if he wasn't mistaken though it wasn't as if they had much interaction. At least less then the previous woman. "Good day," Simon greeted as the man gave a simple reply of his last name. The man however gave him the description of his wand without actually handing it over. "Wand please," he instructed holding out his own upturned palm ready to accept the offering so he could run the check. |
Quote:
"Oh. Okay.." Annalise smiled warmly at the man as she accepted the wand when he handed it to her. "Thank you so much!" She smiled, tossing her blonde hair back behind her shoulders. Everyone that she had met at the Ministry was so nice. It was great. |

Smirk. Yes? |
He was underdressed. That was pretty clear. He'd only just arrived but he'd already seen that most of the other men were wearing suits. Definitely underdressed. Which made him a little self conscious. But Dexter was rarely self conscious. So this was strange for him. Nevertheless, he continued forward hopping onto the security check in line behind a man in jeans and a vest and rather nice shoes. His own sneakers squeaked on the floor as he edged forward in the line eventually arriving at the front. He gave a short nod to the young man who was weighing the wands and held out his own. Having overheard the man giving directions to the others he raised an eyebrow. "I hafta tell yer the specifics, yeah?" And what was this about a clipboard? |
Kyleigh smiled over to Simon - it was a little bit cheerier than her previous one at least. "Thank you Simon" she smiled over to him. "Ugh i'm - i'll see you around then?" She smiled and retrieving her wand she brushed her hand through her hair quickly before saying another goodbye. As she left the check in area something seemed to change. Her eyes were dry - sure, they had been for a long, long while. Still now they suddenly looked a little bloodshot - but that was just because she hadn't blinked enough at all. |
Fashionably late. At least, that's what Roxanne would call it if anyone mentioned her walking into this whole orientation thing an hour after it had started. She was fashionably late, nothing more, nothing less. She had considered skipping the event altogether, since, after three years, she could hardly be called new and therefore didn't really need an introduction to the Ministry. But, curiosity about the new members of the MLE had won out and she had forced herself into her work clothes and made her way down here........ ........only to meet a security check point. Ugh. If she was completely honest with herself, she could see the need for it. After all, it would be the perfect time for someone to pull something. But right now, with the whole 'not really wanting to be here' attitude, it was irritating. She kept this little thought to herself, though, and signed the little clipboard before presenting her wand to...... Simon the YETI? "Training?" she asked, smirking a little. Yeah, that had to be it. Otherwise, one of the security guys would do it, wouldn't they? "10 3/4 inches, vine with unicorn hair core." Yep, that was her wand all right. Quote:

There he was again. Back to his working place. Derek did like the Ministry, despite some weird people. It was a nice and calm place - mostly. Well, not really, but he was able to work on his own most of the time, and he liked that. The problem was this Employee Orientation thing they made up this time. Wasn't it enough that he had to face people every single day, and sometimes even work with them? Did he really have to go to this stupid Meet and Greet thing? Urgh. Derek wasn't in his best mood when he approached the check point. Quote:
|
Text Cut: Simon Tyler smiled as the man welcomed him "Thank you, I am sure we will be seeing each other around" since some departments worked together sometimes. He then stood there as the man did the necessary checks on his wand, as much as he found this a little tedious he knew it was necessary. Didn't want people just turning up and walking through the door like it happened in muggle law enforcement. "Thank you, well that was an easy test to pass. Lets hope other tests are easy too" he chuckled jokingly as he gave the man a nod "You have a good day too" he said walking off into the Ministry where he would now be working for who knows how long! |
thought I had RPed him handing it over *mellow* oh well Quote:
Hum de dum de dum...he hoped there was gravy.... |
Truth be told, Konrad didn't want to be there. Well, at least not at first, when he'd heard about this employee orientation thing. But then, at a second thought... why not? Maybe he could find some new employees to help, of even become a guide. Wouldn't that be fun? But, as soon as he got there, he noticed they were checking wands. Ugh. He hated waiting. Still, he signed in his name and department, and handed his wand when it was finally his turn. "Hello". Quote:

Demi walked and scanned her surroundings, she had waited for this moment for as long as she could remember. Yet, it still felt like if it was her first day at school. She shrugged off any nervous feeling and did what she did best and poshly walked up to get her name tag and to get her wand weighed. SPOILER!!: Clip Board She then went ahead to get her wand weighed. 10 3/4 cherrywood and phoenix feather core. Demi was quite excited, not exactly pin pointing the reason. Point is the young woman, was filled with excitement. |
Orientation. That was new, seeing as Dorian remembered his first day here at the Ministry. Namely, he'd essentially just been told where to go and then set to work. There hadn't been any meet and greets, or whatever else had been planned out for the day, but he was trying to be more social as of late. As Natasha could attest to, and honestly, he was wondering if she'd be there so he could ask if her new inkwell was cooperating. He figured Wes was around, if not running security, which meant possibly Isobel wouldn't. He couldn't say what the arrangement was there, but if Isobel's sister was there, he'd at least have someone to talk to that wasn't MLE and he was at least familiar with. But first was going through the normal protocol, which meant security. Since he hadn't been drafted to help this time around, which was why he was fractionally dressed nicer than usual. Working his way to the checkpoint, he gave Simon a wry smile. "Wes leave you to the menial tasks?," he asked, picking up the clipboard and signing in. Text Cut: clipboard Once he'd set that down again, he slid his personal wand out of its holster and handed it over. "Ebony, 15 inches, core of phoenix feather, inflexible," he responded out of habit, before leaning forward slightly to speak in a lower voice. "Just the primary, or do you need to check in backups as well?" he still had his secondary wand as well, of course, back from the cult takedown, and he'd slipped the license into his pants pocket just in case. One never knew when he'd need the wand, after all, and he wasn't going to relax too much even if most of the large cases were closed for the time being. |
Of course she was excited to come to the orientation. Though she was kinda late. But Victoria didn't not know why there was a security check point. Was it because of the weird sickness that spread among some of the employees before the vacation. Victoria hoped it was a routine procedure. And anyway that was safer. No need for wands now. hopefully. As the blonde got in line. She waited until a couple of employees handed their wands until it was her turn. "Good day," She said with a smile then reached for a clipboard. Quote:

1 Attachment(s) Penny nervously entered the security area. She had not had a job in quite a long time, due to personal reasons, so this whole process was outside Penny's comfort zone. Still, she held herself in the manner she usually did: proper and serious. SPOILER!!: Penny Glancing at the other employee's in the room, Penny gathered that she was required to fill out a paper with her name and department. In writing that quite closely resembled typed print, Penny wrote her name: SPOILER!!: Penny Clearwater Penny wondered what else she needed to complete at security, and vaguely wished she had gotten specific instructions on the matter. |
Iridesca clicked into the Security Checkpoint...these things always made her so nervous and, eventhough, she understood why they needed them...at the same time she didn't get it... She grabbed a piece of paper and grabbed a blue pen out of her bag and quickly scribbled down her information: Quote:
She smiled at the man taking wands and handed him her wand. |
SPOILER!!: Annalise and Evelyn[QUOTE=HazelStone101;11239388 "You're welcome," he returned first to the stranger and then to Evelyn as they both thanked him. Simon thought his friend was leaving when she stopped and turned back to him. "Nah I think Mr. Auror is okay," he answered using the title she had given him. Mr. Almost-Auror in all truth since he still had half a year of training to go. "But thank you anyway." SPOILER!!: Dexter The next was certainly knew, an observance of the man showed that. If not by the chosen code of dress then by the way he seemed unsure of himself in his surroundings. Simon was about to ask him for his wand but he was already handing it over. "Thank you," he said acceptingt the offered wand and nodding as he slipped it within the wand-weigher. "Yes, I need to compare what you say with what scanner shows." Simple enough concept. SPOILER!!: Kyle Simon's own smile brightened as Kyle smiled at him. The YATI not only glad that she was better but that they seemed to be on better terms then they were when they had started the conversation. "You're welcome." He nodded at her words about seeing each other. That was something he still looked forward to...when she wasn't trying to attack him anyway. "Yeah, of course." Sigh...darn task now keeping him from mingling with his friend. If only Evelyn had come after, he might have asked the former Slytherin to be mindful of the Ravenclaw. Simon still worried after all, however needlessly. SPOILER!!: Roxanne As Simon was greeted with the next from the queue he came face to face with one of the wizengamot workers. Her one-word question was exactly bothersome for it could be seen as truth but the smirk added a touch of bothersome teasing as if making fun of him. "Working..." he said simply accepting her wand and listening to her description as the wand-weigher scanned the details. "All set," he replied handing it back to her newly polished. SPOILER!!: Derek And here he was thinking he might not have to deal with any troublesome people. However the next man wasn't the politest in the room, not even looking at him as he handed his wand in and spoke of its qualities. No bother, he was just a nameless worker doing a simple task after all. Simon put the wand through its paces, nodding as the results came out fine. "You're fine," he remarked simply, holding it out for the man to take back. SPOILER!!: Aron This time around the man did as he was supposed to, handing Simon his wand who then put it throught he machine. Sure enough, one more level twoer passed with flying colors. "13.5" Yew, Dragon Heartstring," he said echoing the man's earlier rusitation with a nod. One more down, he mused to himself handing back the wand. "Have a good day." SPOILER!!: Konrad Simon waved on the next member in queue, waiting patiently as the older man moved up to him and signed in on the clipboard. The motions of each person was becoming repetative so he had given up watching and simple stood there. "Hello sir," he said returning the greeting. The YATI accepting the turned in wand and setting his task in motion. "Please describe your wand." SPOILER!!: Sky As Sky gave him the information he requested, Simon glanced between her and the wand-weigher under his charge. The results matched what he was given and so he simply retrieved the wand and returned it to its rightful owner. "There you are. Have a good day." SPOILER!!: Demitra "Next..." Simon's voice called up the next ministry employee to the desk. Was it him or was the young woman one of the newbies? He had been testing out his observation skills to make the job less boring and it certainly seemed that way. "Good day," he greeted with a polite smile, glancing at the clipboard. Ah yes...certainly a new employee seeing as she was Level two and he was sure he had never seen her around before. "Welcome to the MLE then," he added before holding out his hand. "May I please have your wand and then describe its characteristics for me." SPOILER!!: Dorian Another familiar face, this time in the form of the CMEC head who offered him a smile. at least the higher ups in the department didn't make him seem like he was degraded just be being in the job he was currently which was a plus. Not that he was one to be prideful, just didn't like things rubbed in his face. "It would appear that way," he answered Dorian as the man signed in, adding his name to all the rest. "Thank you," Simon said accepting the wand, the YATI moving to scan the item. He nodded as description matched screen and handed the wand back to the older gentleman. Now for the curveball...the unexpected. Was Wes watching to see if he made a mistake? "Perhaps I should. Just to make sure in case I get tested on it." Surely the division head would understand. SPOILER!!: Victoria With Dorian finished and away, Simon was on to the next employee in line. "Good day," he echoed accepting her wand with a nod of thanks. How many this made he did not know but he did think on whether or not Josh was coming. Putting the wand through the machine, the former Gryffindor turned back to the woman. "Please describe your wand for me." SPOILER!!: Penny His next customer was clearly a tad nervous even as she tried to hide it. "Good day," Simon spoke, offering what he hoped was a small reassuring smile. It was a simple proceedure, certainly nothing to be worried about. The only reason one would need to worry was if they were doing something wrong and he'd be careful if it came to that. "May I please have your wand to check," he instructed once she was signed in, his hand raised with upturned palm to accept it. "And then tell me its characteristics." SPOILER!!: Iridesca Simon waved the next person in the queue on up to the table, waiting as she filled out the sign-in information. While the blue hair didn't cause a reaction, the fact that she not only took out her own writing utensil but a muggle one at that did. To each their own, he guessed, switching his attention to the wand that was being given over to him. "Thank you," The YATI said running it through the checker. "Please describe your wand for me." |
Quote:
Describe her wand. Victoria took a step closer in order to be heard clearer and spoke. "It's ebony wood. Phoenix feather core. And 12¼inches long." Memorized by heart. Is she done or anything else? |
Quote:
"13½ inches, silver lime wood and unicorn hair core." Or... was the length really necessary? Heh, he knew absolutely nothing about this whole security thing. |
Aaron made his way over to the MoM Orientation, slowed down by his annoying crutches and Mmmkay. Aaron shook the thought of the head-looking machine out of his head and looked to see what others were doing. AH. Name lists. Of course. He scribbled his name down, trying to make it look nice. He had a legit job now, so he had to have nice handwriting and all that. Quote:
Aaron copied what everyone else was doing again and took his wand out of his pocket, it seeeemed like this new machine wasn't scary. Just a wand checker. |
Quote:
"If you're sure..." Her smirk didn't leave her face as she took a few steps back. "See you inside then." Or, maybe not. Who knows. |
Quote:
Not quite understanding why her wand was required, Penny eyed the man before handing it over. Not a cautious glance, but a curious one. "Here's my wand," she said, handing it to him. "Hazel with phoenix feather core. Ten and three quarters inches." And then for good measure she added, "Apparently it's reasonably supple," remembering what she had been told when she first got her wand. "May I ask why my wand is required?" |
Yvonne made her way to the employee orientation a bit non too happy. She had just gotten married --cue beautiful ring on her left ring finger-- and the last place she wanted to be was away from her husband, but duty called and she wasn't about miss anything. After signing the clipboard, Yvonne put the non-matching name tag on her and took her wand out. Her fingers were already feeling itchy at the thought of handing her precious wand over to someone else, but by the looks of it it was Simon, a YATI, in charge of weighing wands. That was good. She trusted people in her department, not that she had a problem with others. It was just...this was her wand. Her baby. SPOILER!!: Clipboard |
It felt like Persephone hadn't been to the Ministry of Magic for ages. She'd had her own special assignment with her fellow Americans, and hadn't been back to England since. She stepped up to the clipboard and scribbled her name. Quote:
Wand-weighing was standard operating procedure at most magical institutions in the United States, so she didn't have any qualms parting ways with her wand. At 8 1/2 inches, it was fairly short, but the ash wand with a dragon heartstring core served her well over the years. She wished she could use it now to shorten the line and actually enter the party. |

"What's this for? You're checkin' if i'm lyin' to ya? Huh." It was.. strange, if you asked him. But.. he had a hard time dealing with the fact that not everyone thought the way he did and that some people might steal other people's wands. Awful, really. "That there in yer hands is a birch wand with a thestral tail core. Ya need to know that length?" He didn't wait for a response. "It's 13.2 inches." Merlin, these machines were odd and oh so unfamiliar. It was temporarily distracting him from his choice in clothing for the evening. |
SPOILER!!: Victoria Simon took notice of her moving closer but it didn't alarm him to anything being off. Just a matter of absent movement. He listened as she give the information he requested, nodding as it all checked out. "It is indeed," the YATI spoke, removing the dark wood wand from the wand weigher and handing it polished back to its rightful owner. "There you are. Have a good day." SPOILER!!: Konrad He kept his attention on the man out of politeness since it was rude not to see the person you were speaking to. Only glancing down as the results of the test were completed and satisfactory. "You're all set," Simon said retrieving the wand before holding it out for the man. SPOILER!!: Aaron Speciality Area...that was a new one. Or so Simon mused as he chanced a glance at the sign-in sheet after his next customer signed in. The groan brought him back and cause a slightly raised eyebrow. Someone was bothered. Nevertheless the man's wand was handed over to him and he accepted it. "Thank you." With the practice of having being doing it all day, the auror trainee put the wand in the weigher before returning his attention to his companion in front of him. "Please state for me the characteristics of your wand." SPOILER!!: Penny Simon nodded at her introduction even though it wasn't much needed as she had already signed in. Another one not quite sure with handing her wand over which clearly spoke new to the ministry as the task was an everyday occurance when one arrived usually. "Thank you," he stated simply as it was given however, the YATi sending it through the wand weigher which confirmed all was well. "Its simply a security protocol to make sure everything is right as its said to be," he explained moving to hand back her wand. "And you're all set. Have a good day." SPOILER!!: Yvonne He was back in rotation and facing another MLEr once more as the next woman stepped up to the desk when it was her turn. Practiced, she went through procedure and finally took her wand out and Simon accepted it in stride. "Please describe your wand," he instructed however as he slipped it inside the wand weigher, seeing as she hadn't readily given up the information at first. SPOILER!!: Persephone "Next..." Simon said calling up the next person on the queue. The woman in question answered with movement, signing in and putting on one of the name-tags provided for the event. He couldn't help wonder just a second on what number that would make her having already dealt with so many. "Good day," he greeted politely before holding out his hand for her wand. "Your wand please. And then describe its characteristics." SPOILER!!: Dexter He watched the man backtrack in steps, moving to sign in after handing over his wand. It didn't much matter here or there as long as they did all that they needed to do. "More like simply make sure all is as it should be. No charmed or cursed wands either." That was a good reason as any and didn't make it seem like employees werent trusted. Simon listened as the description was needed, about to answer the older man's question when he himself just plowed on. Everything matched up and the YATI retrieved the wand to hand it back. "There you are. Good day sir." |
Quote:
Erm... "Thank you. Have a nice day," Konrad said with a slight nod when he took his wand, before making his way inside, even if he didn't truly feel like going. Heh, he didn't even know what he was doing there, and yet there he was. |

Nick walked into the Ministry, as he has been here before on several occasions when the Minister of the United States needed him to do something very important here. He walked upto the Security Checkpoint and grabbed the clipboard and wrote the following on the next available line: Name: Nicholas Potter Department: International Cooperation After Nick filled out the information on the Clipboard he set it back upon the table and went to the back of the line and waited. |
Penny nodded to the man as she accepted her wand back. "Oh. Alright then," she said cheerfully with a smile. She could see merit in protocol and thoroughness, although she also thought it was more valuable to have trust in people. With a nod, Penny added, "Have a great day." And with that, she took off, not quite sure what she would do now. |
Quote:
"It's 10.5 inches, vine wood with a serpent scale as a core," she said. "It's pretty stern, too," she added just in case he needed the quality of her wand. That and she didn't mind showing it off. *grin* |
Quote:
He nodded again as his wand was handed to him, and slipped it back into the holster on his arm before leaning over to reach for his other wand, concealed in a holster around his calf. Since he didn't have boots on to tuck it inside this time, he'd had to adjust. "I wouldn't have asked if I wasn't willing," he pointed out, handing the second wand over even as he shifted to slide the folded license out of his pocket. Just in case, although he trusted another MLEer to know everything was legal. "Hawthorn, 13.5 inches, core of dragon heartstring, sturdy," he added. No need to make things even more difficult than they already were. |
New place, new work. This is something new. Although he has been through one of these wand weighing stuff and he sure knows how it is protocol sometimes. So he walked up to the checkpoint and waited for his turn. After awhile, it finally became his turn. He then grabbed the quill and wrote his name. Quote:

"11.2", Butterfly silk core, Elm with a blue ink wrap..." she said proudly...yes it was completely eclectic like her...the butterfly silk core was something that ran in her family and the blue ink coloring obviously matched her in every way. |
Kitty Percy waltzed towards the security checkpoint. She tossed her candy into a garbage can nearby and made sure that it hit. She saw that there was some dirty napkins lying next to the can. How filthy. Then she approached the checkpoint and said in a cheerful voice "Hello! The famous singer Kitty Percy is about to grace this place." |
The hungry But that was insurmountably nothing compared to the deliciousness of her bounty of candy. She was hugging the bucket to her when she made it to the check in table. And now she was going the opposite direction. The poor manperson was still standing. Brain smelling delicious - she simply smiled a crooked and somewhat sheepish smile and the human - the girl inside of the zombie spoke up. "Sorry I tried to attack you last term" she lifted the candy toward the man but still kept it close to her. She was possessive of her candy. It was her PRIZE for being awesome. "Want some? I won it...it's freee" she wiggled the bucket around. All it needed to do was change into a bucket full of brains. Chocolate covered - fresh (which was the BEST of the BEST), curried-dried brains, and any way you could prepare and keep it fresh and delicious tasting for EVER would be perfect. After all, brain was her favorite. |
SPOILER!!: Persephone "Thank you," Simon said with a polite smile as his requests were answered with no trouble at all. He first took the offered wand and pliced it through the wand-weigher, watching as the results soon unfolded as he listened to the wand's owner describe it. Sure enough, one ash wand with dragon heartstring was what he had temporarily in his possession. "And you're all set," he told her, retrieving the wand and returning it to her. "Have a good day." SPOILER!!: Nick "Next..." Simon waited for the next person in the queue to respond to his summons. The call was answered by a man not too much older then himself who took the quill that rested there and signed in on the clipboard. "Good day," he greeted politely waiting to see the next move and when nothing happened the YATI slipped into routine. "May I please have your wand..." he instructed holding out his hand to accept it. "And then tell me about it." SPOILER!!: Yvonne If Simon noticed how his collegue may have seemed fidgity about being separated from her wand, he made no outward show of it. He wouldn't understand it either. Only a few moments would pass and it wasn't like he was gonna snap it. He listened to her description of the item and on glancing at the results cooked up by the weigher, noticed the proof that everything was as expected. Removing the wand, Simon held it out for the woman to take. "There you are...enjoy your day." He certainly wasn't. Where was that Josh? SPOILER!!: Dorian It seemed Dorian was trying to make him feel better about the situation he was in and Simon appreciated it. He just didn't hope the division head had the wrong idea and he wanted to shirk a responsibility given to him by their department head himself. "Um...don't get me wrong. I don't mind it," he said to the elder man who was technically his senior in the department as well. "Just might have been nice to switch off with someone through the day." Little change of scenery never hurt someone. And even the wand weighers in security who did it normally did it in shifts, he himself had only been excused for short bouts of a few moments at a time. But enough of that, he was being handed the man's back up and like before, ran it through the machine. Right as rain as expected and he was soon returning that one to him as well. "There...all set." SPOILER!!: Man So far so good. No mishaps even though he had thought that perhaps there might have been one person annoyed by the task he placed before them. Might have broken up the routine but oh well. "Good day," he greeted the man who presented himself next in line. "May I please have your wand to check," the YATI instructed holding out his hand to take it. "And then I will need for you to describe the characteristics of it as well." The lines were becoming common place over time. SPOILER!!: Iridesca Ah a rather polite one they had here. A change of pace though it wasn't as if people had been rude. The woman before him was just overly cheery and nice. Was that a wink? Naaah. Simon nodded as he listened to her description having noticed the blue treatment that had been done. Certainly an interesting wand for an...interesting person. The results still matched so whatever was there didn't matter much in the long run and Simon retrieved the wand from the machine. "Here you go. Have a nice day." SPOILER!!: Kitty The next person certainly made an entrance into the scene. "Hello," Simon greeted simply, his eyebrow raised slightly at the young woman's words. "Is that so? Well I still need to see you wand, Ms Percy," he said trying not to think of her as a little off. What department had she wound up in? Or was this some kind of show or entertainment? "And then please sign in your name and department on the sign-up sheet before describing your wand to me." SPOILER!!: Kyle Simon was about to call next when Kyle appeared back at the wand weighing station. She looked a tad different from when he had last seen her not too long before and he couldn't help but wonder why. And what was that smell? "Um...its okay Kyle. You already appologized. I'm just glad you're alright." He wondered if the scribe was struggling with herself and her actions and trying to continue making amends because she didn't feel she had done enough in appology. And now she was offering a peace offering of sorts, the description of which must have meant she had won one of the raffles he had heard people talking about. "Sure," he said, willing to appease her though noticing something else seemed off. Was she okay? His hand went out to accept the offered piece unaware of any worries he might need to have. "Um...is everything okay?" |

She gave him a loopy smile and then with a little laugh she leaned forward and spoke. "I nearly went fwoooooosh through the wall" she nodded and looking down it happened. One second she was talking and laughing and being a normal non-zombie girl and the next moment the zombie had taken the reins and had guided her head just a few more inches down opened her mouth and closed it on something soft and fleshy. Soft fleshy and warm....and oddly enough it tasted like iron. And her teeth having that super-sharp newness that they had developed that day it wasn't like she was used to them. She would have bitten the chunk of thumb straight off if it hadn't been for that pesky bone. Why did the bone have to be there she could have enjoyed her hand in piece. It took a moment to realize she was screaming incoherently and almost as quickly as she had bitten him she'd dropped his hand out of her mouth on the spot and proceeded to vomit into her box of candy. Ewwwww. She made a frowny face at the loss of the candy and glanced at Simons hand. Her face now ashen. "Episky" she pointed her wand at the bitten hand and gave a sheepish look - the spell didn't work but she wasn't going to stand around to be attacked by a mob with pitchforks and wands and evilness on their minds. She was no science experiment - maybe she was a failed one she didn't know. "Sorry" she wined as she dropped the bucket onto the floor and ducked into the crowd. She didn't go far - really, she just ducked under the table and began to hug her knees. |

Simon/Kat ;) Was he late? He did not know but he did not seem to be in a hurry either. This was just an orientation thing, right? That meant he did not need to hurry, right? Eh...he was not sure but he did not mind. Also he did not seem to be caring about what he was wearing to this orientation either as he had his favourite dark red t-shirt and concrete gray jeans on. His new wand was in the belt holster he had next to the gleaming MLE badge. He walked into the security area and took his place in the line with a careless expression. Once he was able to, he took the quill and signed his name. Quote:
Bwahahahahaha... Yeah, he could not help laughing. He seemed very busy with...things and...whoops was he supposed to be here earlier doing this too? He looked around if he was going to see the boss. Was he in trouble again for being late? |
Rearranging a little--Help! Zombie bite SPOILER!!: Nick "Thank you Mr. Potter," Simon said accepting the offered wand and acknowledging the introduction. He would stick with the formality at this time seeing as he was technically on the job and a position of some meager authority...even temporarily. Turning his attention ever so slightly, he send it through the wand-weigher, patiently awaiting the results. When they came back positive in connection to the given wand description, the YATI retrieved the wand and handed it back. "There you are. Have a good day." SPOILER!!: Him "Its alright," he assured the man as he appologized. It wasn't like he could assume everyone would just follow along and either know what to do or just duplicate the actions of those around them. Simon accepted the wand and placed it within the maching, listening as his companion's words continued on. "Yep...one 13" redwood, phoenix feather wand," he confirmed as he took it back out and returned it to its rightful owner. "All set. Have a good day." SPOILER!!: Kyle Simon unconsciously winced as Kyle described her near-adventure. Though that certainly didn't bode well in the right department if he didn't already know she was more than a little on the clumsy side. She didn't fall purposefully everytime he was around there to save her. He was expecting a piece of candy, what he was was certainly not that...food didn't usually hurt and marked by a friend's teeth. "OWW!" Okay so as an auror you usually weren't one to show pain. However the bite was so sudden...so unexpected...and on some rather sensative finger flesh (not to mention pretty deep) that he hadn't been able to keep quiet about the feeling. And was it just him or were her teeth reallllly sharp? he questioned himself as he wrapped a cloth around his finger and applied pressure. The next moment Kyle was screaming and getting sick into her raffle prize and Simon was torn from concern on his own well-being to his friend's. His hands slightly outreached again and it was then he heard her healing spell and felt a tingle but nothing more. Likely too excited to cast properly. Simon reached for his wand to do it himself when he heard his nickname being called from the line, his head turning to see if it confirmed the arrival of someone he had been waiting for. SPOILER!!: Josh And there....there Josh was looking all smug there and laughing and waving as he approached the table asking him how he was. Simon glanced at his watch only to see it getting late and his friend having obviously taken his time getting her."Hello to you too. Not particularly at the moment. Here...." Simon said coming up around the station and pulling his best friend back around with his uninjured hand. "You're turn to work here now. I have to see to Kyle...and stop this bleeding." Yep...Kyle had broken skin. Now where exactly had she gone to? "Kyle....?" He called out to try and get her attention, the cloth back wrapped around his finger with pressure to stem the injury. If he couldn't see it well he couldn't heal it well. |
