He put an arm on hers, gently guiding her to his desk. "Are you feeling all right?" |
hehehe. Quote:
Kensi's head was swimming all of the sudden...her body was shaking, and when he took her arm she had to steady herself...she had stumbled a bit. HEr stomach was really turning now...and she thought she might be sick at any moment now! She COULD NOT allow herself to be sick in Bossman's office! NO WAY, JOSE! She gulped and plopped down on the chair, a little more roughly than normal because she was so weak... She felt herself beginning to drool...and she took the handkerchief out of her pocket and pressed it to her mouth. "N-no, see that's the thing, I f-f-feel awful, and I w-w-wanted to know if I could have off--" but before she could even ask the dreaded question her facial expression went blank....her eyes stared straight ahead, and the handkerchief fell from her hand, allowing drool to pour freely from her mouth... The redhead started mumbling incoherent things, not words, more of sounds of cavemen or something. It was strange. She wasn't blinking. Her body was trembling even more, now. Greeeaaat. |
Nicholas was walking through Leveal 2 until he found the office of the Department Head of Magical Law Enforcement. Nick looked at the door and the plaque on the door read: Code:

A purple paper airplane, complete with the emblem of the Ministry of Magic stamped along its sides, makes its ways through the lifts and corridors of the Ministry of Magic. Reaching its destination, the interdepartmental memo comes to rest in front of its intended recipient. When unfolded, it reads: Quote:

Wes had actually been in the conference room all day, and was planning to stay there all day, when he spotted someone he didn't recognized hovering outside his office. Quote:
Quote:
"Come in," he called out again, more loudly this time. "Have a seat." |
*allows self in just because* With the drool samples locked away in the lab on level 3, Aron had been left with just paperwork to look over the notes of their research thus far...and were not really coming up with anything conclusive. They needed more samples. More to compare. More drool. Which meant he really was going to get the reputation of being the Drool Man. Oh wouldn't Seren just be peachy and proud of him? Maybe he should break the news to her first with a nice little flesh eating shrub... Head Cabbage Wes' memo in hand and lab bag slug over his shoulder, Aron knocked on the door twice before opening the door just a crack to poke his head in. "You needed to see me, Wes?" |
Quote:
Couldn't hurt to see what he had found so far, before the meeting, anyway. |
oops....guess who forgot to hit submit :3 *points to self* Quote:
"So...did you want to see me about these samples?" he asked, patting the bag again but this time NOT drumming on it. |
Quote:
Or maybe he just really liked science. Whatever the reason, Wes nodded to the question about samples and then just blatantly pointed to where his eyes were staring. "Are they--- the samples ---in there?" He was just curious. "I was actually hoping you would speak to others about the samples too..." Wes added after a few more moments of staring. He tore his eyes away from the bag and shook his head, turning instead to find the memo on his desk. He passed it over to Aron and waited for him to read it. "There's this meeting, you see, with the Minister..." |
Quote:
Catching some of the photosynthesis here, eh Mr Head Cabbage? We have our collecting materials with us as well. Another memo? Didn't the Ministry SEE how all this paper was bad for the environment? Did they know how many trees were cut down per year to make all this parchment? WERE THEY USING RECYCLED PARCHMENT? He should probably ask Environmental about that, come to think of it. Taking it, Aron gave it a quick read over and his eyes widened. "I don't have any sort of presentation ready for this sort of thing," he replied, excitement still clearly there in his blue eyes. Really, he didn't have any presentation ready...especially considering the time of the meeting. "But if you want me and my drool there then I will be." |
just me and mah drool, we're two best friends, just me and mah drool, WE'RE TWO BFF Quote:
More samples to compare, if Wes was catching the drift, meant that Aron would need to expand his experiment to the....rest of the department... if not the whole Ministry. Merlin, he was like Dacs wanting to shut down the place! "So do you?" he prodded, leaning forward some toward the samples He pondered the actual possibility of testing and/or shutting down the rest of the Ministry while Aron looked over the memo. "We don't need a fancy presentation," he clarified right away. "We just need evidence of the problem and a reason for... say, quarantining individuals exhibiting the same behaviors as those you collected drool from." Was Aron absorbing his osmosis? |
*jams to your drool song* ... *jumps ahead here since other RP hasn't developed yet* Quote:
"Well...all the Droolers ate in the cafeteria and there seems to be some sort of pattern with their drool or vomit samples and how they react to certain things. Haven't tested a control yet, someone who hasn't eaten in the cafeteria like myself," he explained. It wasn't much, but it was a start. "There is something there...I just need more time in the lab." Quarantining? Well, that certainly was something that had crossed his mind. "Until we find the source of what is causing this...I really don't see another option really. Whatever this is could be airborne by now." So, quarantining might not be such a bad idea. Ministry was big. Just throw some beds in a broom closet somewhere, right. "So...I guess I'll meet you there?" At the meeting that is. |
Quote:
"I'm not sure how much more time we have," Wes commented quietly, tilting his chair back as he thought on this. He seemed to be staring at something on his desk for a moment Thaaaaaaaaanks, Drool Dude. |
Dacs headed straight to Wes' office after the meeting. She knew what to expect once they were in there. With her bag precariously hanging on one shoulder she knocked and waited. She knew her boss probably had protective spells on the office so it was not a good idea to barge in. Leaning against the wall, she ran a frustrated hand through her hair and exhaled slowly. She let her hand stop at the nape of her neck as she rubbed at the dull ache that was starting right there. It seemed to help some before, Dacs let her tatooed hand fall to her side. |
Roxanne had been sleeping off a headache when she had gotten the patronus. She thought about blowing the meeting off, as she wasn't really in the shape to be yelled at ('cause she knew that was what was going to happen), but decided against it. After all, wouldn't want to make things even worse on herself, which is what would've happened if she stayed home, she knew. So, she had pulled herself out of her bed, wincing and cursing the headache, her cottonmouth and herself for being the cause and trying not to lose what little she had eaten and had quickly showered, brushed her teeth and hair, and thrown on the first set of clean, comfortable clothes she could put her hands on. She hadn't felt much like doing her make up, so she left that off and just grabbed the darkest pair shades she had to hide her puffy, bloodshot eyes. Anyway, once she entered the Bossman's office, she wished she had thought to grab a Pepper Up potion or something, because there was one of the last people she wanted to see today. Dacs. Ugh. She knew then that she had been exactly right about the reason for the meeting and was looking forward to it even less. At least Wes wasn't mad at Dorian, because that would be the worst thing that could happen today, being stuck in a room with the two of them. For two entirely different reasons, of course. Anyway, she nodded politely at the other woman (after all, politeness was the best way to avoid a fight, therefore giving herself an even worse headache, right?) and slipped into a seat in front of the Bossman's desk. She tried to curl up in it the best she could, closed her eyes, and leaned her head back against the back of the chair, hoping this meeting would be over quickly. OOC: Just to clarify, Roxanne is not turning into a zombie! ;) She's just ill.... |
SPOILER!!: Dacs and Roxanne Kensi slunk into Bossman's office, the meeting was over, but she had had to run to the bathroom to...BLEGH. She was feeling a bit better, but not really. She wanted to go home. And not be quarantined. Couldn't she just go back home to her parents?! They could take care of her just fine! Hmph. She looked paler as she shut the door behind her and went to stand next to Dacs, the person whom she liked better of the two...actually, she DID like Dacs, they were just...too similar to get along all that well. She wasn't nervous about this..meeting. She knew they were getting yelled at..but in Kensi's HUMBLE opinion, SHE hadn't been the hothead...Dacs and Aron deserved more than SHE did...AAAAAND she had stood up for Bossman Wes..so shouldn't she get, like, a raise? Heh. She cleared her throat. "You think he's really mad?" she asked Dacs, her green eyes a bit wide. she leaned back against the wall, shooting her a look, and then she looked back at Roxanne... Hmph. The girl from the food court...whatever. She nodded at her politely and just looked back at Dacs. "Personally, I don't think we did anything wrong...but..." Kensi's opinion was probably skewed..a bit. A lot. "And that..Armen guy...someone needs to...take care of him..." she grumbled, her eyes narrowing a bit...mehhh. Kensi could be that person. She could. Uh huuuuh. And she would gladly take the blame, too! She swayed a bit, grabbing the back of Roxanne's chair to keep her balance as a wave of nausea broke over her..Merlin... |
Not quoting, nope Her eyes may have been closed, but Roxanne wasn't actually asleep. Nope, just trying to will her headache away still. Which wasn't working at all. The simple sound of the door closing had made it worse, and she couldn't stop the groan from escaping her lips. Ugh and blech. Should've just stayed home and dealt with the consequences later. She tuned out the first part of what Kensi was saying, but a familiar name caught her attention. "What did that gopher do this time?" she asked in a quieter, rougher sounding voice than normal. Great she even sounded like she was having a bad morning. Could Wes just hurry up and get in here, before the lumberjack in her brain completely burst through? Feeling as awful as she did, she didn't really appreciate the way her chair shuffled a little when Kensi grabbed it. But she just swallowed back her own vomit and let out a displeased noise. That's all she could manage right then. She understood that the Hit Witch was one of infected and therefore wasn't herself, but well, let's just see how charitable you are with a pounding headache! |
SPOILER!!: Roxanne Dacs saw when Roxanne came in and sat down. She simply blinked and ignored her. Outside of working the Talone case, Dacs had nothing to do with her. All she did was annoy her, something that often gave Dacs a headache. As a rule, she didn't really like people of her own gender. Only a few. SPOILER!!: Kensi Dacs looked up again to see Kensi walk in. She narrowed her eyes dangerously at the woman. One of hers had turned on her and then tried to apologise for it. Looking away Dacs continued to use her mind's eye to review what happened. Then Kensi tried to talk to her."Of course he's mad Whitworth." she said quietly."Don't worry pretty little rear, you won't be the one scalded here. Not like you haven't burned me already me with blatant disrespect. That will be last time I watch out for you until I fell better. But you are right about one thing, the gopher needs to get his. I'd certainly oblige." she said. SPOILER!!: Roxanne again She looked toward Roxanne's chair and looked away silently. If she said a word to this woman they would be acidic. |
Well, that had been pleasant. Ugh. It least it wasn't screaming. And at least Roxanne didn't have have to work with the woman, if that was the way she was going to act. At least no one had questioned her own general ill appearance yet. She didn't really feel up to explaining. Especially not to these two. For, again, different reasons. Though she did realize that she would have to explain once Wes got here. Speaking of which, where the hell was he? She was ready to get the show on the road, even if she wasn't exactly keen on getting her butt reamed. She just really wanted out of this room and away from Dacs. Yep, she was still angry over the whole thing in the bookshop, even if she couldn't quite muster up the energy to show it right then. What right did she have to blurt out what she did? Roxanne could probably have turned the 'handsome' comment into a joke if the woman had just kept her stupid mouth shut! At least she had no risk of seeing him today. And just thinking about the whole situation was making her feel worse. So time to move on to something else. Tick. Tick. Tick. Where was their boss?! |
Aron had needed to run the samples back to the lab before heading to Mr. Head Cabbage's office - including the new sample from a Mrs. Head Cabbage. Once those had been safely stored away, he quickly made his was BACK to level 2 and to the man's office. Merlin was he doing a lot of running around these days. Could he maybe petition for the right to apparate within the Ministry? Something to think about. Entering the office and seeing...the ladies...he sort of stood off to the side and waited for the rest of the testosterone to show up. |
Dorian had come up with several possibilities why Wes wanted him in his office, most of which really didn't make much sense. They hadn't done too much damage in searching de Talone's shop, minus the destroyed counter that he was fully prepared to take responsibility for if need be. He still felt a bit stiff from the fall, as well. If he needed the proof. They had found enough other evidence that that should have been a minor incident anyhow, so he doubted that was the reason. More likely was that it was something involved with the chaos that he'd caught a glimpse of as he'd passed the reception area. The zombie case. Although he wasn't exactly working in that, and he'd watched Aron slip inside the office ahead of him. Possibly, it was just a meeting to get him up to speed as a division head. In any case, enough had gone on that he both didn't want to and really couldn't quite focus on any logical reason. He had shown up, though. After taking leave once again from his family home in Edinburgh, where he'd temporarily returned while the investigation in Hogsmeade had been going on. It had been useful after the incident, seeing as the house elves had tried to keep him comfortable. He'd missed Lorelai, though, and his flat, so the summons was quite welcome. Until he stepped inside the room, and an eyebrow arched slightly. Quite the collection, and his gaze stayed on Ms. Whitworth a bit longer than the others. Just to determine if she was going to come at him again like she had during the orientation, and then he leaned up against the wall near Dacs. No chance of it crumbling underneath him, and he really preferred not trying to fold himself into a chair until he got over the last of the stiffness. |
Upon seeing the next two people to enter the room, Roxanne just threw her hands over her face, leaned her head back and groaned. Yep, that was about right. Though she did have to wonder why Wes had called the two men into his office anyway. Kensi too, for that matter. As far as she knew, none of them had done anything wrong. But instead of asking anyone, she just decided to wait it out. Besides, there was no guarantee that anyone would answer anyway, considering that she was still waiting for an answer for what Recard had done now. Awkward. And blech. She was torn between being uncomfortable in the silence and being grateful for it. And now she had a slight idea how Marie Antoinette felt when was she was being led to the guillotine. Or maybe she was just being overly dramatic in her ill state. Could Wes come and start the meeting now, before she completely lost her nerve and left? Because she was considering it, damn the consequences. |
did I tell you ALL to post in here? O____O MERLIN. After situating Izzy in a chair outside his office, with the promise that he would be right back, Wes hurried into his own office and stopped short just in the doorway. Good Merlin, had EVERY ONE of his employees decided to converge in his office today??! He'd really only needed to shout at about four of them... Ah well, no time like the present to get started. First, his CMEC head. Who didn't get shouted at. "Dorian," Wes entered fully into the room and gave his fellow Gryffindor a pat on the back. "Didn't actually need you to come into my office, just THE offices...." meaning level two, but anyway. "We're going to need you to head down to the cafeteria. Dacs is leading an investigation into the connection between the zombies and the opening of the food court... so head down there and help her out. Look for anything usual in the food, the decor, the chairs, whatever. Leave no stone unturned." Poor guy wouldn't be getting any rest after he fell through the floor. Sorry mate. As for who would be working with him... Wes turned a steely eye on Aron next. "As for you," grunt, "I'm going to be watching you, Ashburry-Hawthorne. If you ever start bickering in front of high-up Ministry officials again... you'll be out of this office faster than you can say 'sample.'" He got another grunt as Wes moved around to sit in his desk chair. Now then. "You're also on assignment to the cafeteria, and should be specifically checking the food for Merlin knows what." Yeah, he was going to have to forget the drool, for now, unless he found some free time to dig into it. "Got it?" The next one... Kensi. Wes felt bad about what he was going to say to her, but well.... at least she wouldn't be alone. "As for you, Whitworth..." he fought back a smile and instead just gave the girl a nod. "Good show in the meeting. Next time, though, tone it down a bit. I understand you're passionate, you're feeling ill, et cetera... however, let's not alienate the people helping us here. All right?" And her assignment? Wes' voice dropped a little as he glanced down at his desk and pretended to shuffle some papers. "As for where you're going... well, I'm going to set up the quarantining area here shortly, and then... you might as well get comfortable in it, because we need to find out what's wrong with you before we can find a solution for it." Sorry. "For now, though, would you wait outside the office? You'll find a blonde woman sitting there as well..." Yeah, his wife. *Awkward.* Now just Dacs and Roxanne remained to be chewed out and/or given assignments, and Dacs pretty much already knew what hers was going to be. "Dacs, I'm going to put you and your division on the cafeteria and on helping round up the infected workers. We'll be temporarily shutting down the Hogsmeade branch of the de Talone investigation. I think you guys have pretty much pulled all the evidence from there anyway." Place might still need some clean-up, but they should really have enough for a strong case against her. Speaking of the person forming the case... "Roxanne." Wes stared her down. "I think you know why you're here." His eyes briefly flicked up to the others in the office, which he then... shooed away with a glare. "OI, IF YOU'RE ON ASSIGNMENT, GO TO WHERE YOU'VE BEEN ASSIGNED." Now. |
*headdesk* Quote:
Kensi ignored the entry of the two men. Meh. She was too into her own world...thinking... About CRUD. Ugh. She felt awful again, and she grippe the back of the chair, again, looking at her feet, closing her eyes...stupid illness...she felt like she might be sick any minute now... BAM. Bossman was there...She cleared her throat and pushed back the feeling...of vomit..from her throat and tried to look normal. She probably failed, majorly, at this, but whatever. She was TRYING. Was there still a chance she wouldn't be IMPRISONED?! Probably not. She listened to him...talk to Dorian..right right..then he turned to her...and she growled...at his words. Anger already rising. Merlin. Why was she always angry lat-OH RIGHT. Her boss and his employees LOVED MAKING HER ANGRY. "I-I WAS toned down..." she shot back, and then closed her eyes and rubbed her temple. That was toned down for her..it really was! "I didn't attack the man, did I? " Yeah. toned down all right. he was LUCKY. He better HOPE he doesn't Kensi outside the ministry..in the streets...because Kensi was only a good as she was here..."You know, I thought standing up for the boss WOULD have been appreciated..." she scowled... And then- She frowned. She ALMOST felt like crying. Almost being the key word here. She scoffed..and felt so sos o MAJORLY betrayed. "I-" she didn't even know what to say. FINE. "Fine. Abandoning me...I get it," she said softly...she wanted to start SCREAMING...but she didn't. Anger control. ANGER. CONTROL. Ugh. She wished she could go punch someone..where was them Recard man? She would even take just a punch to someone NOT important...uuuggghhh. She had never felt so emotional in her whole life..angry and sad and just SICK all at once. She hoped he felt awful..yes, Wes, WE HOPE YOU FEEL BLOODY AWFUL! She slammed his door behind her, making SURE he knew how ticked off she was at him. very. Ticked off. |
SPOILER!!: Wes, the Bossman Dacs almost stood at attention when Wes walked in. He didn't look happy at all. The role of leadership looked heavy on him today. She noted how he seemed to just give out instructions at first. Dorian would need to sit for a bit after his rather eventful day. Then again, he was no wimp by any means. As Wes continued to go down the list he reached Aron. He didn't get that much of a friendly greeting as Dorian and Dacs thought for good reason. She would smile if she remotely cared what happened to him at this point. Whatever he got she earned. She could say the same for herself, but she could always handle herself. Dacs continued to stand in silence as Wes took control of the room and the meeting. His tone with Kensi was almost gentle and understanding. Dacs made a mental note to speak with her Hit Witch later, when she could find the time. When he asked her to wait outside things winded down to things that dealt directly with Dacs. When he spoke to her and told her they were shutting down the Talone investigation for now, Dacs nodded. She ran through her head a few things she needed to do before heading down to the cafeteria and fast. Then turned his gaze to Roxanne. Dacs decided to move forward from the wall near the door. As she moved forward, Wes snapped at the others to leave and get to work. "If I may speak. Ms. Carter is not a field agent. I know as any witch who is in this part would be knowledgeable about certain things, she is still not trained to handle on site procedures. She also disobeyed a directive from a division head. I cannot work with that in the field." she said looking at Wes before she turned to Roxanne and continued,"I don't appreciate you throwing my age into my face as a negative when it comes to my work. I may be young, but I have earned everything I have and who I am through hard work. To be disrespected in front of another division head, my team and half the department, is completely unacceptable." Dacs was furious but kept it caged. She only spoke within the confines of respect and rank, as her boss stood in front of her. SPOILER!!: Lost her mind Kensi Dacs never thought that Kensi would go that far but she did. Piping up from the wall, not as loud as a shout but loud enough to let Kensi know she was out of line, sick or not. "Kensi watch your tone. That is your Head you are speaking to. Sick or not, you watch that tone." Dacs said. She would definitely have to speak to her when she left the office. Dacs looked at Wes and said,"I'll talk to her later. I can get through to her." |
