Office of Wesley Ferguson http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/a...anklinhehe.png The office of former Department Head and good friend Evander Bole looks much the same as it did when it was occupied by Bole. When Bole was first settling in, the office was stripped, wall to wall, ceiling to floor, and before furniture was brought in, or any decorating occurred, the naked room was liberally applied with a lattice of security charms. Bole went to such efforts that the charms, hexes, jinxes, curses, and advanced spells cross over each other, intertwine in places, and create an veritable net of impenetrability and secretiveness. Not only is it impossible to get into, but it is also impossible to eavesdrop upon. After all, those who have tried such a task have found themselves without ears the next day.
|
It was incredibly weird to be sitting on this side of Truth was, he was really going to miss his friend. And he wasn't sure how he could say that in a man-to-man way without getting sappy. So he settled for a grunt and simple comment. "You'd better take those ugly portraits with you," Wes grunted, thumbing toward the old MLE heads on the wall behind him. "Or Izzy will decorate them with bows and crap." |
Quote:
Well Van wasn't gonna get sappy either. So he was content to communicate in grunts. He grunted now in response and looked up from the box that he was putting the last of his things in -including coffee mug, and photographs of Lily. Grunt. "And where would I put them? Lilyan would likely try to feed them, you know." Which... when had this whole WOMAN thing happened? They both had this... THING now. Woman. Women. Doing stuff. Grunt. |
Quote:
"Decorate the baby's room with them," he suggested with a chuckle. "Gotta start 'em early you know, if you want a future Hit Wizard/Witch." Or Healer. Whatever. Kid should be smart. IF his old friend even had a kid. Grunt. What else could Van do in retirement? |
Quote:
That got the look that it deserved. Van was still scared witless about this... impending baby business. Or really, impending POSSIBLE baby business, since they hadn't done the getting pregnant part yet. Even if he was quite amenable to that part. Grunt. "And who will fill in for Izzy when she has to take maternity leave, hmm?" HMM, OLD FRIEND? |
"........" Wes grunted instead of replying directly to Van at first. Merlin, Izzy? MATERNITY LEAVE? Did he really want those words together in the same sentence???? HAD VAN GONE AND GIVEN HER IDEAS?! "Touché, mate," was about all he had to say about that. "I'll sic Jax on those YATI kids though. Problem solved." That or Izzy was not going to have babies. NO BABIES FOR HER. |
Quote:
SMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRK. Well then. And that was why Wes shouldn't say things like that to Van, because he'd give as good as he got, or had Wes forgotten? He made a mental note to inform Gabe to give Wes a hard time every now and then. The guy needed it. "Yes. Jax. He's good. Best undercover operative we have... err... you have, right now." Other than the ones that were top secret, like Odessa. "I think I'm done." Stuff. Was in box. He eyed the portraits. Wes could handle those. They were ministry property anyway. |
"Sort of," Wes replied to that. "Might be needing him around here though since you know... you're leaving." Sigh. Van's box was full. Stuff was going. He was going. Wes stood and held out a hand. You know, the formal shake/goodbye/transfer of power/all that. "Are you really sure you're ready to go? It's been good times, old friend." |
Quote:
"Yeah. Its done. I'm gone. Its time. This was never the plan you know. The cult is what put me here, and now that they're... diminished," Not yet gone, but diminished and weakened and scattered, "I can go. And Lily needs me. She can't have any more of those nights not knowing if I'll be there the next day. And... I can't do to her what I did to Isobel." He met his friend's eyes frankly. "I have to be there for her. With her. And I need my Lily." And even Brysen. He was fond of the kid. But... "You sound like you don't expect to see me again." Brows. "Take care of them, won't you?" And... yes. Iz was under that... 'take care'. He didn't need to say it. He clasped Wesley's hand with his own. Manly shake. |
You two! There was no way this was true, someone surely was pulling his wand... Evander Bole, Department Head of Magical Law Enforcement and Cheif thorn in Armen's behind was retiring?! Armen could have skipped, SKIPPED he was so happy. He wondered to himself if Ikenna had heard this news, were the inmates at Azkaban aware of such things? Surely Evander had a giant poster of himself in the prison somewhere. His ego called for one at least. The Ministry "Hello there Evander, all packed up?" Oh, Wes was here too? Armen gave him a curt nod and spoke to him too. "Wes, being a lad and helping Mr. Bole carry his things out?" |
Quote:
Shaking his friend's hand, and then finishing it off with the obligatory arm slap, Wes smirked. "They're in good hands, you know. And I fully expect to see you limping around here far more often than Damien." The other retiree was already here too often as it was. "Take care of yourself, now." And Lily. And the kid(s). He would have said more had it not been for the timely (not) arrival of.... Quote:
"Shall we have the gopher carry your things, Van? Seems appropriate." He could only hope his old boss had cursed the box. |
Technically. Technically, Van could punch Armen now without any serious fall out. Wes would look the other way, surely? ... His expression said it all. "Unneeded." Van told Wes and simply limped over to the floo (where his cane happened to be neatly leaning against the wall), threw some powder in there and then levitated the box straight through. Then he fetched his cane and turned to look at Armen Recard. If it was still HIS office, he'd have expelled the man forcefully by matter of course. But as it was he simply stared him down. Yes? Did he have something to say? Evander wasn't going to waste words. |
Quote:
Quote:
After watching Evander limp to the fireplace, Armen wanting to knock him over at every step, he watched and waited to see if the guy had anything to say to him. This could be the last time they spoke, hopefully for a long time. "Have a goooood life Van!" This was said with a sarcastic smile complete with a small wave. Yes everyone, the old coot was about to leave the building! |
Wes didn't even look at Armen, he just nodded at Van. "I'll hold your cane." And he would look in the other direction while the man exterminated the pest population of the room. |
Van nodded and solemnly passed his cane to Wes even as he stepped carefully forward. Still moving slowly he fastidiously folded up his sleeves and cuffs, and then.... ...his ham of a fist met Armen's nose with a satisfying craAAAaaaaAAAACK! Then he reached into his pocket and extracted a galleon, flicking it to Wes. "That ought to cover the fine for assaulting a Ministry Official." |
Quote:
Quote:
And then it hit him.....square in the nose. The ex-department head's nose cracked upon impact and blood spurted down his face. "EEEOOOORRRRRRRKKKKKK!!!" Armen shrieked in pain and jammed both of his hands up, holding his face. "How d-d-dare you! Wes I know you don't like me but s-s-seriously he just assulted me--!!" Blood continuing to poor from between his fingers Armen whipped around to see Wes had his back turned, and now recieving a Galleon from the destestable Evander Bole. This was so ridicously horrible. A nightmare really. His face was going to be ruined. Armen for the first time in a long time had nothing to say, or he couldn't say it for fear of being hit again. He was fuming though, no less. |
What was that sound Armen had made? Not the one where his nose literally BROKE, but the other one? The gopher squeak? 'EEEOOOORRRRRRRKKKKKK!!!' was it? Wes was going to be imitating that one for years. Literally, YEARS after today. Best Van!Moment ever. The hand that caught the galleon went to his mouth as he tried most generously to cover the sound of his laughter with a series of fake coughs. "Here, Van," Wes eventually choked out, tossing the galleon back to his friend, "I believe my department enforces such fines and, as a witness, I'll tell you what, nothing happened here." Besides, Van needed that coin more than he did now. Turning back toward the gopher, he cleared his throat of any remaining giggles. "I suggest you go clean that sudden nosebleed up, Armen. And don't let the door hitcha where Merlin splitcha on the way out." |
Van caught the galleon neatly and pocketed it once more, even ignoring that.... sound. And he wasn't going to say a word to Armen... even if it'd be fun to taunt the man further. But no. Did you talk to bugs after you squished them under your shoe? Though, if Armen dripped too much blood on that carpet, it'd develop a taste for him. Should he warn the man? Nahhh. He shot Wes a wink though, and leaned against the solid desk, arms folded across his chest as he watched Armen with a sense of satisfaction. This was a memory he'd watch over and over. |
Quote:
Quote:
Nose still tightly clenched in his grasp, Armen was about to shout HIS department!? It all made sense, he wasn't in here to see Van off, he was....taking over. O_____O This really was a nightmare. "You two are going to be sorry!" One of these days he was going to rise back again and he wasn't going to stay quiet, no way. And with that, and two burning glares at the two men, Armen Recard burst through the door and Apparated home. He was done for the day. |
Silently passing the cane back over to Van, Wes waited until Armen was gone to comment on that.... goodbye. "Wonder how good maintenance has gotten at getting blood out of carpet." |
"You should speak with Inez about his casual use of apparition within the Ministry, and see to it the wards are checked again." Van observed, and turned a grin on Wes, rather boyish. "I believe there is a fine for that." He took his cane with a flourish. "That felt good." |
Part of Isobel was pretty much fuming at that Fiance of hers. Trust him to get promoted to head of department and not even bother to tell her. Although the other part of her realised that he probably wasn't allowed to tell her, that part of her was not fuming at him. But if Wes was now department head, that could only mean one thing. Evander was retiring. That made her feel weird. She'd just literally got used to him being her boss, and now he wasn't going to be her boss. Instead the man that was soon to be her husband was going to be her boss. The awkward times were just never going to end were they? She could have very easily wandered through and got her YATI's to work. But she knew that she couldn't let Van escape this time without a goodbye. Things weren't like that. And she didn't need to sort of congratulate her man. Seeing as he was top dog around here now. Isobel did consider knocking the door, but then disregarded that idea. She was engaged to the man for merlins sake, she was pretty sure that wouldn't hex her for not knocking. So the head auror just let herself in. And she was about to say something to the both of them, but then she got distracted by something on the floor. What? "Why...is there blood on the floor?" |
heh. heheheheh. I like you two. "Merlin, Van, you're not my boss anymore. You can stop giving me orders." Wes grinned back at his friend though, quite like the co-conspirator that he was. Joking aside, he WOULD be keeping tabs on the gopher's apparition habits. Evander could be sure of that. "That looked good," he agreed with a chuckle. Highlight of the day for sure. Hearing the familiar sound of a pair of heels clicking down the hall angrily, Wes shifted his bum against the desk and grunted. Here comes trouble. Fifty galleons said it would be Izzy. And there she was. Wes didn't budge from his half-seat on his desk, although he did attempt to tone down his grinning. "Hello dear. Don't worry about the stains. They come with the job." Eh Van, eh? Nudge nudge. |
"It was just a friendly....suggestion." Hehe. Oh look. Isobel. Van watched her for a moment, trying to gauge her thoughts. Well she would have preferred knowing before the Memo went up, he expected. So Wes might have a bit of fall out from that. Not Van's problem. Hah. "There's always blood on the floor." Van remarked. "Don't worry, the carpet will absorb it." He waved one hand and his grin faded too. Hmmm. Was she gonna snap? Nahhh. Naaaaaaaaah. |
The blood strains on the carpet had kind of momentarily forget that she was kind of annoyed at Wesley for not telling her about his promotion. It didn't particuarly help with the two of them making funny jokes like that. "You two think you're so funny..." She mused with a grin, as she moved herself further into the office, settling herself down into one of the chairs on the one side of Wes's desk. She wasn't going to get at Wes for not telling her, not right now away. Oh noo. Wesley still had it coming. Isobel was just waiting for when they got home. "Let me rephrase that question..." She gazed towards the nice blood stain. "Who's blood is it?" And they had better answer this time. Because Isobel rather liked poeple answering her questions. And she could always decide to snap regarding her lack of knowledge about Wes' promotion. So it would be wise for them to answer. "Oh...." She then looked up at Wesley. "I suppose I should congratulate you dear?" |
Wes waited for it, waaaaaaited for Izzy to snap, just waiiited.... but then she was grinning and settling down in the chair opposite his desk. Well that had been easy. His shoulders relaxed a bit and he titled his head toward the wall. "Like the décor, Izzy? Decorated it meself." He winked toward Van, though his cheeky little attitude faded somewhat at the intonation behind her question. "Er... Van, you can answer that one." He was the one who'd punched Izzy's ex-boyfriend, after all. Well that ex-boyfriend. He nodded at his fiancée. "Thanks." Yeah that simple congrats would do. |
"What makes you think its human, Iz? Reeks of Squid to me." Van answered. No. Really. That was the answer. She knew what the YATI called Recard, surely? He pushed off the desk. "You know... I should be getting home to Lily." |
Did she like the décor? It was exactly the same. Isobel just eyed him. "You've worked very hard on it..." Clearly. But Wesley did have more important things that decorating to do, so she would let him off the hook for this. Just for that though. Wesley was not off the hook for not telling him. Oh. He was in big trouble regarding that. She was just waiting for her former boss to depart before she told Wesley exactly how she felt about that. Oh. Squid? Izzy frowned for a second, trying to figure it out. Oooh. Squid. "You made Recard bleed...." She paused, grinning at both men in turn. "And I missed it?" Oh. She was very disappointed now. Did this mean she could hex the guy now? you know....seeing as she still hadn't got pay back for what he did to her. |
"I know. I did." Glad she'd noticed. Wes smirked to himself, realizing he was probably digging his grave a little deeper, but not really caring right now. He was still elated from kicking Armen out of his office, EEEOOOORRRRRRRKKKKK! and all. Wes knew Izzy wanted revenge on her ex just as much as he did, if not more so. But her time would come. "I don't think that will be the end of him, sweetheart, you'll get your chance. And if you'd really like, I'll show you the memory later." He chuckled a bit and nodded to Van. Wellp. So much for the others getting to say bye... eh... "I'll owl you those portraits," Wes promised, turning his head to eye the covered paintings. Evander was NOT walking away without 'em. Ugly thangs. |
With permission from Roro...not the dragon. :3 After a few moments of just catching her breath at her desk, Alysson decided that Van wasn't here. Or not at her desk anyway or anywhere in this room. So she should probably start looking for him elsewhere. Because he couldn't just leave without giving her the chance to say goodbye. Hopefully she wasn't too late and he was gone already. The only place he could still be was his office...or well, Wesley's office now actually. So after walking up to the door, she knocked once and without waiting for a reply just opened the door. What if he was going to just floo right out of there after all. So no time for formalities. She could apologize to Wesley later. Plus he couldn't be too upset with her...you weren't allowed to be upset at all before your wedding. At least not in Alysson's opinion. It was a mortal sin. She didn't walk into the office any further but instead just stopped at the threshold, letting her hazel eyes wander around the room for a moment, taking in everybody currently inside. Oh, good, Izzy was there too...and Evander. "You didn't think about leaving without saying goodbye, did you?" She addressed him with a small smile. It wasn't like they were really really close or anything, but they had been working together for a while now and she liked him. So there, he couldn't just leave like that. |
Quote:
Shrug. Van grinned back. It had felt DAMNED good. Quote:
"They're ministry property. Don't be ridiculous. Besides, you ain't going to spy on me that easily, Wes." We're ON to you. Quote:
Alright. Maybe. His version of goodbye, as exhibited with Wes a little earlier, consisted of manly grunts. So really, nobody was missing out too much on a lack of those, and he'd done enough damned pep talks and speeches when they were standing against the cult and such, so those weren't required either. But still. "I suppose I will miss you, Alysson. You're a good sort." Grunt. He turned to Wes. "Keep her. She knows what she's about, and not likely to turn up dead at an inopportune moment." |
"Oh...I will get my chance." Isobel smirked darkly. Oh. She was no way at all done with Armen Recard at all. Sure they had been split up for getting on for two years, and she was engaged to another man, but she still wanted to get her revenge. "But...showing me the memory will work too" Because Evander seemed pretty impressed with himself, and she wanted to see just why he was. Oh. Evander was going now. Isobel was about to say something, when her best friend decided to interupt things. Alysson sure knew how to make an entrance. But Aly was kind of saying that Isobel had wanted to say, but had known it would make things so awkward. She knew Evander wasn't going too far away, but her telling him that she would miss him wouldn't really help. "Hi Aly." The blonde nodded, giving her friend a wave. It was a nice party that they were having here. A leaving party maybe? Izzy laughed at what Evander said. "Like I'm going to let him get rid of her..." |
"I think I need to cast a fidelius charm on my office," Wes remarked as the second woman in five minutes showed up to his door. He did smile at Alysson though, because she was a 'good sort,' as Evander put it. "Suppose you can come in then, Zookara." Chuckling at Van, Wes had to agree with his idear. "I think we might've found a new way to raise money for promotions." No need to worry about budget cuts from the top down anymore. They'd just market the fail that was Armen Recard's face. Easy money. Dammit. He was stuck with the portraits. Fine. Giving up on that discussion, Wes turned his gaze back to his woman. "Like I was PLANNING on getting rid of her in the first place." Geez, Izzy and Van. He wasn't that incompetent, honestly. |
Vicky, decided she wanted to pay a visit to the new Department Head of Magical Law Enforcement. She made her way to Level 2 and headed to the office. Stopping at the door, she could hear more than one voices which made her re think the visit but remembered she had other places to go after and decided to forge ahead. She knocked on the door and waited. She didn't like when other barged in on her so she would give anyone with an office door the same courtesy. Vicky stepped back and waited for a response as she glanced around a bit. |
Alysson bit her lip to hide her grin at Wesley's words but didn't quite succeed. "As long as you make me Secret Keeper I'm okay with that." She joked but bowed her head in thanks when he invited her in. Because, see, she did have manners and only came into the office now that she had permission to. Closing the door behind her, she smiled at Izzy before resting her eyes on Evander again. Who looked...rather sheepish somehow. So he WAS going to just leave like that. Alysson felt the urge to tsk him for that but refrained when she listened to his words. It was her turn to "N'aw" now before going on. "I will definitely miss you." No 'supposing' about that. Wesley wasn't going to take that personally, was he? Speaking of...at her new Department Head's reply to Van's compliment, Alysson folded her hands behind her back and straightened up a little. That was REALLY nice to hear. "And I promise I'll try to avoid dying...until it's convenient anyway." She grinned at Evander at this, seeing as he'd been the one to bring up dying at 'inopportune moments' and all. Heh. Oh, there was A LOT going on today, wasn't there? She raised her eyebrows in surprise and glanced over her shoulder at the door upon hearing somebody knock. "Maybe that Fidelius charm would be a good idea..." Also she should probably get back. |
Having just stopped Emily from taking out her frustrations on the poor rubbish bin that sat at by her desk, the tall American moved over to Van's... no. Wesley's... office door. Woah. That was a weird thought. He laughed softly at himself and rolled his eyes as he looked at the younger YATI's who couldn't seem to decide if this was a bad thing or not that was happening. They didn't know Evander like he did. They didn't know what the Department was loosing. They also didn't know Wesley like he did. They also didn't know what the Department was gaining from his experience. Sighing, Jaxton ran his hand through his hair. He really needed to get his hair cut. Hmm. Later. Before he met Ali for dinner... She'd been getting on at him ever since he'd gotten back from his last mission. Bloody cultists. He couldn't wait to make sure they were all behind bars... Finally noticing a female standing at the office door, Jaxton smiled slightly (who the heck was she?) and rap-a-tap-taped on the door. What? He wasn't childish... He just liked Van to know it was him. He wondered if Wesley would find that amusing, annoying or handy. Hmm. He'd need to check. |
After Wesley told her that Evander was leaving, which wasnt very good on her part since she didnt read the board, why hadnt she read the board! That was so not responsible. She decided she would go say goodbye to Evander and Congrats to Wesley or did she have to call them by their last names... As she reached the entrance she gave a knock and waited patient as a bumble bee. |
"Apparently its a party in here." Van commented, resigned. He had HOPED to go without too much fanfare, he'd never been the type who REQUIRED attention... but apparently that wasn't meant to be. He limped forward with his cane and pulled the door open. Yeah yeah. Come inside. Etcetera Etcetera. He waved them all in and then looked back at Aly and grinned. Yeah. He'd miss her too. For real. "Y'all aren't gonna just let me leave are ya?" |
We love Van! She'd taken her time to get here, letting her feet drag a little in an attempt to cool down. Stupid-SENIOR-auror-people-that-need-glasses should get out of her way. Mmmhhmm. Huh? Waiting at the door? BARGE IIINNNN!!!! She'd happily hex it down if the older auror couldn't. |
It really was a party in here. Maybe Isobel was going to have to wait till they got home tonight before she could actually tell Wes how displeaseds she was for not knowing about his promotion. Maybe that was a good idea really. It would be a bit unprofessional of them to have a lovers tiff in his office, in the midle of work. Isobel was not going to forget though. She had a memory like an elephant. Wesley wouldn't know what had hit him, not that she intended on hitting him. But you know. She would go with the flow. Oh. He wasn't intending on letting Alysson go. "Just checking darling." She grinned at him. Mmm. Maybe she should stop the darling talk now that there were more people in the office. It was okay when around their friends were around, but not when there we quite a lot of people here. And was that the senior undersecetary? Interesting. Wesley certainly had lots of friends in high places now. The only part of Isobel that didn't like the fact that lots of the people being here was that Evander would probably disappear before she really got to tell him anything. She didn't really feel like saying the stuff in front of all these people, especially considering everything that gone on between her and Evander in the past. Maybe another time eh? |
why it IS a party in Van's office! WOO!!!! er. my office. JK. :D "Had I known I was going to inspire this many people to come say bye to you," Wesley remarked toward the retiree with an amused smirk, "I would have purchased refreshments beforehand." Heh. As it were... they'd just have to make do with mobbing Evander. Wes was going to greet the senior undersecretary, since she was a busy person and an important one too. Quote:
But still, her visit was not unwelcome. Not unless she brought bad news with her... |
*smirks at Rachie* Or you know, not. Because it seemed like suddenly everybody else was trying to get in here too. So she hadn't been the only one who had taken Wesley's brief update on what was going on as an invitation to come say goodbye to Van. Not at all. It really looked like the whole office was at the door now. Or almost anyway. Oh and somebody else. The...Senior Undersecretary was it? Catching Evander's grin when he went to open the door, Alysson smiled back before giggling a little at his words. "We might just keep you...as a mascot or something." Yes, Van could just walk around the office and...well, be there. It was bound to make an impression if anybody came to visit their department. There was no other department that could claim they had an Evander Bole, after all. When more and more people came in, Alysson moved to stand next to Izzy. Poking the blonde's arm softly to get her attention she leaned over towards her a little and whispered, "Why didn't you tell me about this?" This being Evander leaving and Wesley taking over for him. She would have known about this beforehand, right? |
Quote:
Smiling politely, Vicky said,"You can call me Ms. Daniels or in informal settings Victoria." She took his hand and shook as she also shook her head and said,"It's fine. I can appreciate such togetherness. I'm actually glad to see it." She glanced around at the others a bit before turning back to Wesley and said,"I came to congratulate you on the promotion. I know it's not going to be a walk in the park but you must know that my doors are always open, unless I'm not there." as she eased into a sweet smile. This was the biggest department in the ministry and would be the one to ensure everything was good. Quote:
|
I don't know how I missed this 0__o Quote:
BAH! Deciding words were too hard at a time like this, she ended up settling for a nod and a small girlish grunt. |
Quote:
Oh. Why didn't she tell Alysson? Isobel gave her a look, and shot a look at Wesley. Yes. She wasn't pleased. "He didn't tell me." Lot of trust they had in their relationship. Clearly. Isobel shrugged though. It had been up to Wesley if he had told her, so nothing she could've done then. |
It was that time again. New boss. Which one was this one...? Warren... That other guy... Evander... Four. Ohhhhhhhkay then. Well, introductions were always one of Ben Amsten's many... many... many specialties. Unfortunately, Benjamin was at the disadvantage of already being familiar and friendly with his new head. This means he couldn't make his first impression of himself to be ten times better than he actually was. Ah well. The Director of the MMAO has to be briefed on what's new. Ben was in his full suit and tie, like always. But instead of going to his desk, Ben decided to visit the new head first. So the New Yorker was also wearing his Fedora and carrying his briefcase. Ben knocked on the door. |
*pretends she didn't forget about this* Quote:
Oh. If anybody asked her why she thought this was somewhat amusing, Alysson wouldn't even have a good answer. Somehow she suddenly had to try really hard to hide a smile though. "Oh...I'm sorry." Sorry for bringing it up. Not that she'd had any way of knowing about this obviously. Still, now that she got to think of it, it WAS actually quite weird. "D'you think he wanted to surprise you?" That was the only logical explanation really. Or the only one that wouldn't result in Wesley having to face a REALLY angry Izzy at home. |
*escapes and doesn't quote* Grunt. Yes Wes. Refreshments. Sure. Van DID crack a grin though. It wasn't that he was enjoying this.... sudden desire that his people had for wishing him well and/or chastising him for quitting without warning them, but he was impatient to get going. It wasn't as if he wasn't going to see them all again, though he could understand why Izzy might have suspected something along those lines, for old times sake. Van's attention was caught by Alysson next and he raised one eyebrow. "A mascot? Going to rename yourselves the fighting Evanders? Or maybe, the Squidpunchers." That would be fitting. He caught the Undersecretary's smile, and her 'friendly' offer to Wes and could barely hide his amusement, though Van did nod his head in polite greeting. Heh. Funny. And of everything? It was Emily's little grunt that got him. Tugged on the ol' heartstrings. She was a keeper. And more bloody knocking. "I'm gonna get while the getting is good. I'll be sure to pop in, and you lot know how to reach me. Perhaps shrunken-head bowling and a few drinks might be in order? Lily's expecting me though. And she has food. And I like food." So. Grunt. "So long, for now." He was proud of them all. If they couldn't pick that up from his grunts then they hadn't learned a thing. Van hotfooted it through the floo, turning and saluting as he and his cane disappeared through the flames. |
Emily was cut... emotionally devastated. BUT... Van had said so long, for now. For now, those two words were uber significant, and they meant everything to her. Now she could get back to work and focus, knowing she would see her Boss Man again. Happy days. With another brief nod as Van disappeared in the flames... darn it, she then scanned her orb-like eyes around at the people in her New Boss Man's office. It was too crowded in here... too many people, and she didn't really like people. Only the cool people. Emily retraced her steps, backing out of the office. Mmhhmm... that was all, she was gone. |
Quote:
And. Evander was going now. Isobel didn't say anything, and just sat watching. To be honest, although she did actually want to say something to her, she wasn't sure if she would've been able to find the proper words. So maybe it was best that nothing had been said. And then Emily kind of happened. Isobel watched her friend with worry in her eyes. Was the girl okay? Izzy had learnt though that maybe it was best not to go after her. Not straight away anyway. Emily was a little firecracker. Isobel made note to after her later. And she didn't know if she quite wanted to leave the party that was occuring in Wesley's office. Hmmm. Maybe he'd introduce her to the undersecetary. That'd be nice. |
okay, Van's gone, PARTY'S OVER. BACK TO YOUR DESKS. SHOO SHOO. :D Quote:
He turned back to her too and nodded. "Thank you. I'm looking forward to all of the... challenges that come along with the job." Van had certainly left him in good hands, and with good leaders to work with too. "Thanks again for the warm welcome." Wes tucked his hands into his pockets and looked back to the door to see who else was coming in and who all was leaving. He thought he heard a knock at the door, which said something, considering that the volume level in the room sure was louder than usual, and raised a brow at the Undersecretary. "Was there anything else you needed, Vicky--- er, Victoria?" Because he probably should get back to work now. Quote:

....and as soon as the office was empty. Ahem. Sneaking his way back to his desk, Wes slipped into his office chair and took to subtly staring around the room at certain individuals, not-so-patiently waiting for his employees to...well, get to work. Sappy moment was over, folks, and the world was still spinning. |
Post impromptu going away party…… Roxanne was slightly nervous, considering that she'd been called in to discuss a certain promotion request that she'd decided to slip onto the end of her pay grade review form. Honestly, she was half afraid he was going to tell her no straight to her face. But, no, surely he wouldn't do that, right? Even if he did, he'd let her down gently, wouldn't he? The few times that she'd spoken with the man, he seemed quite nice. That lent itself to the 'let her down gently' theory. Then again, he could surprise her and say yes, deeming this worry as being all for nothing. She was brought out of her internal worrying session by the realization that she was already outside the Department Head's door. Hoping that the nervousness didn't show on her face, Roxanne raised her hand and knocked on the aforementioned door. "Um, Wes, it's Roxanne. You, wanted to see me?" Wait, was he even okay with people calling him by his first name now that he was the Head?! |
*is shoo'ed out* ... *doesn't quote either* The Squidpunchers? Alysson giggled at Van's suggestions, shaking her head a little in amusement. "Yes, we'll all wear buttons and hats with your face on it." Now that would look awesome, wouldn't it? All the other departments would be SO jealous. Alysson did notice Izzy's glance down at her engagement ring and her eyes widened slightly. She wasn't having second thoughts about this, was she? "I'm sure it's that! Happy surprise just before the wedding and all." Yes, she was rambling a little now but she just wanted to make sure Izzy wasn't too upset about all of this. Her own eyes darted to Wesley again, giving the back of his head a small glare just because. Why HADN'T he told Izzy about his promotion? Speaking of whom...he was leaving now. Glancing at Izzy for a second, Alysson then turned back to face Evander, even taking a small step into his direction. "We'll miss you." It was true. But of course he would have to leave at some point. They couldn't all just stay in Wesley's office forever. "See you around then, I guess." Since he was going to be hanging out here some more right? And he had mentioned going bowling too. That was something to look forward to then. And with that he was gone. Aly stared at the fireplace Evander had just disappeared through for a moment longer, before looking back at the people inside the office. Her eyes briefly flicked to Wesley who was...pointedly staring at them. "I think we should leave." She nudged Izzy before realizing that she might want to stay seeing as...she and her fiancé probably had some things to talk about. "Or well...I'm going to leave anyway." You can stay though. |
Izzy be departing Isoblel just strugged at her friend. She didn't know. It would've been nice, and it was a happy surprise. It would've just been nice if she had been told about. "He seems to be full of surprises..." She mused with a smile. Happy Surprises. Isobel would just keep telling herself that. Hmm. The office seemed to be emptying now. That was her cue to head back to her YATI's and give them something to do. It was her job after all. Although she did kind of want to talk to Wesley. The blonde glanced towards her fiancé before she made her decision. "I'm coming Aly." Work before pleasure after all. The blonde looked at her friend and smiled, as she got up. Back to work it was, that was what she was paid to do. Looking back from her friend to Wesley she smiled at him. "I'll see you at home darling." and they would talk then. They'd probably end up celebrating his promotion too, but their would most definetly be some talking occuring. With that said, she made over to the door, beckoning her friend to follow. With a final glance, and smile at Wesley, she left the office. |
*leaves too* Okay, maybe she should have just said goodbye and left. Now with Izzy glancing at Wesley for a moment, Alysson felt just a tiny bit awkward. Right, she made a mental note NOT to come by their house tonight When Izzy finally said that she would join her, Alysson took a couple of steps towards the door before stopping to turn around to Wesley again. "Bye. And congrats again, by the way." She directed a smile at her new Department Head, allowing her eyes to flicker towards the fireplace one last time. Catching Izzy's beckoning out of the corner of her eyes, Alysson turned around and followed her friend out the door. Yes, she really couldn't think of anyone better to replace Evander as Department Head. |
--------new stuff going on as of HERE-------- Quote:
"Well come in," he murmured, leaving the door open and retreating back to his desk. He continued talking as he led the way to the seating. "I found your pay grade review very interesting, Roxanne." |
Sorry this took so long... As Roxanne followed Wes over to his desk, she discretely scanned the office. The room was definitely masculine, in a old timey manner. She didn't care for it too much, but made sure her face didn't so that, instead schooling her features into an serious expression. Some of her remaining nervousness might've shown through... "Good interesting, I hope," she replied, managing a small smile. |
no worries :D Quote:
Heh. Congrats? |
Er- Legend really hoped he wasn't in trouble. He was simply making his way back from a quick washroom break when a note had hit him in the head from the great Wesley himself, telling him to get his butt to his office now. So what if he had cut his patrolling short to go to the loo? The small bladder that he had was not even his fault.Or maybe it was because he drank about five bottles of water, but basically it wasn't his fault. He couldn't be in trouble. Right? Legend hesitantly made his way to the office and brought his hand up. He could run? Instead, he gave a quick knock to the door and waited. |
Er. There was another knock at the door? Wes smiled apologetically at Roxanne and got up to get it. She could mull over what he meant by 'promotion' while he handled whoever was interrupting this meeting. Wrenching the door open, Wes blinked at the sight of Legend standing there. Oh, Legend. Right. He'd told the kid to come see him straight away about a personal matter he needed to deal with. All right then. "You can come in," Wes grunted, "but don't sit down." Really, this matter wouldn't take more than a minute, maybe two at most. |
The door was yanked open so violently that Legend, subconsciously reached for his wand, for some reason expecting an attack. Instead he got a large man who seemed to be surprised to see him. Had he forgotten that he sent the note already? Man, people weren't kidding when they said your mind was the first thing to go with age. Don't sit down? That wasn't really polite. "Right." Legend mumbled, shifting his way into the office. Oh. He was already talking to Roxanne. He nodded his head, seriously and man like to his co-worker before leaning against Wes' desk. "Just so you know, its not my fault that I needed to pee today." It really wasn't. "I had to keep drinking water because all the hot chocolate I was drinking was too sweet and so after I drank the water I got cold again so I needed more hot chocolate." It was like a never ending cycle. And that liquid had to go somewhere. Preferably, the ministry toilets and not his pants. |
So instead of sitting down, Legend thought it would be better to take a lean up against Wesley's desk....? And now he was rambling about using the facilities... "Never mind, Chosen, you can sit." Wes shook his head, clearly Whups. Looked like Wes needed to work on his 'tone' or whatever when sending memos. "Anyway, the reason I called you here today is that I need a ring-bearer for my wedding to Isobel." He looked at the YATI seriously. "And you fit the bill for the job. You're young, you're MLE, Isobel approves, and I think you're an all right lad. So, you wanna do it?" Good? Great. Done. |
Oh? So he could sit? Awesome! Legend plopped down into the chair beside Roxanne and flashed her a smile. See, he was important enough to sit too. He thought he scared him? Legend snickered. "Oh, nah. I peed before the note." He had just been washing his hands you see. But this wasn't really the kind of conversation he could go on around with a woman right beside him. Legend stared at Wesley. Man, he was really losing it. Ring-bearer, seriously? "But sir- that's a job for like...eight year olds." In case the old coot didn't know he was twenty years old. Though, he did say he thought he was all right, which wasn't too bad, even if he was offering him a place in the wedding that normally belonged to boys who had no clue what puberty was. |
Groan. Wes was mentally groaning at this one. Now as a former Gryffindor, he KNEW other former Gryffindors were not the brightest crayons in the box, but Chosen here was either deliberately or unintentionally acting dull. Maybe he should reconsider the wedding offer....? "Yes, Legend, I realize that most ring-bearers are small children; however, seeing as Iz and I are planning a small ceremony, and considering the fact that neither of us is familiar with an 8-year-old boy..." he winced, "you will have to do." Wes paused to consider how that sounded and added a little smile, just for Legend. "Please." |
Really? No small nephews or cousins or friends children or anything? Strange. He guessed it was good that it would be a small wedding. Then people wouldn't laugh at him, and if they did, it wouldn't be a lot. He was the last resort ring-bearer obviously. Last resort Legend to the rescue! Or maybe he wasn't. Since Wes was smiling and all. An odd thing that made the young man smile back. "Alright, I'll do it." He said finally, as if he had actually been given the choice. The bright side about this was that he got to miss a day of work. 'Hey boss, sorry I can't come in today, have to carry the rings for your wedding.' Brillant. He guessed that was that. The blonde was about to stand up when he remembered something. Digging into his pocket for a few seconds he pulled out a small crumbled piece of paper and slid it across the desk to Wes. SPOILER!!: paper |
Quote:
"Thanks, Legend, means a lot," Wes nodded toward the YATI and picked up the little piece of paper. He read it and tilted his head, then picked up a pen, jotted something down on it, and passed it back across the desk to Legend, just as wrinkly as it was before. SPOILER!!: paper "You can go now, kid," Wes nodded to Legend. "Send Emily in if you see her on your next... bathroom break." All right? Good, done. He could turn his attention back to Ms. Carter now. |
"No problem Wes-er boss." Yeah. He was his boss now, a big and serious thing. Legend stood up, but not before grabbing the paper that was quickly tossed back at him. MORE MONEY!? Awesome! His smile grew before he saluted the man. "Cool, see you later then." Maybe. Wait...why did he want Emily? Surely Wes wasn't insane enough to request for her to be a flower girl, right? He basically swaggered out of the office, more excited about the money and Emily possibly being a flower girl than the ring bearer thing but who carried? |
Quote:
Just as she was about to ask what position he had in mind for her, they were interrupted. By Legend. Going on and on about having to pee. Not that Roxanne minded the crass speech. In fact, it could be said that she herself could be quite crass. She couldn't help the small giggle that escaped as he just went on. As the wedding talk began, though, she kind of tuned out. Weddings were still kind of one of her touchy subjects, so she let her mind wonder to what her new job title could possibly be. She honestly had no idea. She had been too caught up in her own... relationship? Dating? Well, whatever it was, she had been too caught up in it to notice who in her division had left/moved up. That was unusual for her but she wasn't even going to attempt to figure out what that meant now. And Legend was leaving now. Good. Now they could get back to this promotion thing... |
All right, the kid was smiling. Wes felt good about that, even if he'd only given Legend a raise in (what seemed like) sickles. "See you around," he nodded to the YATI as he left, waiting for the door to close before focusing back on Roxanne. "So, about your raise... what are your thoughts on becoming a Ministry prosecutor?" He glanced down at her file which he'd put on his desk for just this reason. "You have some of the qualifications achieved, but you'd probably need to put in a few credit hours at Wizard or Muggle university...." The pay was better and the job was more interesting, though. Wes looked up. "Would you take it?" |
Credit hours at a university? Could she really handle that and continue working? But she'd be crazy to turn down being a prosecutor, right? As for the money, Roxanne wasn't really worried about that. She had plenty of that. Nope, she was more worried about juggling college, a job, and her personal life. It wasn't a secret that she was no longer in her twenties and while she wasn't old old, she just didn't have that youthful energy. Still, though, the fact remained that Wes was offering her a job as a Ministry Prosecutor. Deciding that, yes, it would be crazy to turn that down, she said simply "I'll take it. How many credit hours do I need?" |
Great. She'd take it. "I think you'd need two or three classes, and the DMLE has a fund to take care of those for you. You'd also be allowed to leave work early to head to class or take a day off from the job every now and then if needed. As long as you're doing university things." He nodded and jotted something down on a parchment pad, then passed it across the table to her. "Here's the job description and salary I'm thinking. What say you?" She still seemed somewhat hesitant to him... SPOILER!!: Parchment |
Sorry for the late reply but Vicky has left the office. Quote:
|
Great, only three classes. And she'd be allowed to leave early if needed. She could do that no problem. "That's great! But I don't think I'll need the monetary help though," Roxanne said, smiling. Honestly, between owning a share in her family's company (or half of it, really) and her salary here, she definitely didn't need help paying for the classes. It had only been the time she had been worried about. But now, with everything starting to sink in, she was excited about getting started. She took the parchment Wes was sliding across the table and read it a couple of times. It did sound about right to her. "Excellent, when can I start?" |
Quote:
Anyway. He nodded and gestured with open hands. "Now? I'd say your promotion goes into effect now and you can start prosecuting once you've completed the university training and such." He stood up, pleased that had gone so well, and held out his hand. "Congratulations, Ms. Carter." |
Ack, why so formal? Oh well, when in Rome... Roxanne stood up as well, and shook Wes' hand. "Thank you, Mr. Ferguson. I'm looking forward to my new job," she said, very formally. Just in case there was any doubt. She walked to the door, opened it, and left the office, closing the door behind her. Well, that meeting had exceeded her expectations. |
Emily wanted to see her New Boss Man, she didn't really have a reason why, but she did want to make a good impression. Well a BETTER impression than she always gives off anyway. So what was she going to do? Kneel and pledge her allegiance to the Boss Man that was Wes? Maybe. Having arrived at his office door. Emily stared at the wood for a moment... almost as if staring THROUGH it to see who was inside. But she was only human, no special powers or anything, unless EPIC was a special power, in which case she was super human. With her little fist, Emily knocked, and waited.... |
Having finally made his way around the division to check how things were running... and to make sure that the YATI's weren't fighting... again... he decided it was the perfect time to answer Boss Man's memo about his pay revision. It had sounded so serious - which had made him laugh despite himself. He may have been hard-working, harsh and tough... but he found "seriousness" rather funny between his best friends and he. Perhaps it was simply due to the fact that he'd let them get to know the real him... just like he had with Ali. His fiancee... who would have ever bet on that one happening? Heh. Not him. Jax wound through the office until he was almost at the door to his office. "Ah, good morning Miss Browne." He said, smiling slightly. "I trust you are doing fine this morning." He didn't ask if she had knocked - that would be insulting her. She really was rather clever, and she wouldn't simply stand outside a door. Nope. Not Emily. |
Does Emily have X-Ray vision now? New creeperdoodle special effect? "I'm very glad to hear that," Wes said to Roxanne as he walked her to the door. It had just closed behind her when he heard another knock. Halting halfway to his desk, he turned back around and started for the door again. Guess a promotion meant he was popular now. Wrenching open the door, and nearly springing it free from its hinges as usual, Wes took in the sight of not one but TWO of his Aurors. "Emily and Jaxton," he greeted them with a slight smirk, "what a lovely surprise. Let me guess: you both want more money." Who was he kidding, he'd already seen their raise requests. "Come in, then, might as well get comfortable." Wes was already leading the way back to his desk while he waited on those two to filter in. |
Lolz creeperdoodle's just warming up ;) "Morning Jaxton," she replied with a small nod. No, she wasn't going to address him as Mister Tanner... if that's what he was aiming for with his formality. "So far so good, and yourself?" She was never really one for chit chat, especially in the work place. At work, she worked... out of work she socialised. The appearence of Wes practically REMOVING the whole door was rather amusing the Boss Man's face only adding humor to the scene. A small smirk crossed her lips, "You know I can fix that if you like," she said pointing at the door. Really, one little curse and it wouldn't be a problem anymore. On the subject of money she shrugged. Money was nice, not essential, though she wasn't about to say no. Striding into the office she claimed one of the seats at the New Boss Man's desk. |
Jaxton smirked slightly as Emily called him Jaxton - simply couldn't win with her... yet he liked that about her. It would keep her opponents off-scale as they tried to figure her out. Oh yes, she was going to be an amazing Auror - well, rather she already was now that she had graduated. Smirking, Jax winking at Wesley as he opened the door. "I'm shocked, Boss man. How dare you think that is all I'm interested in?" He said, sarcastically - and rather over dramatically - to his best friend. He rolled his eyes though, and took the chair next to Emily's. What? He wasn't always in a bad mood... besides - Alicia had just agreed to marry him... and he always wanted to talk to Wesley about that... he'd need to wait through this meeting first though. Right. Emily. Pay rise. Got it. He didn't say anything else though, as he settled his elbows on his knees and waited for Wesley to talk first. Seemed like Emily was doing the same. |
"No thanks, Em, I like having a door and not just a doorway," Wes answered as he settled into his chair after them. He raised a brow at Jax's calling him Boss Man but didn't protest. It was his proper title now, after all. And with the title came some actual work, like giving out raises. "So, I'm glad you two showed up at the same time," Wes started, sensing that they were waiting for some speech from him. Might as well get it over with. "You both requested pay raises and you'll get them, of course, but with some minor stipulations." He looked at Jax first. "Yours obviously comes with a promotion and the title of Head Auror, and since we've already discussed this, I'm assuming you're okay with that. Right?" He'd also accidentally already told Jax the wrong amount for his raise, but he was guessing the guy wouldn't mind hearing a higher number today. Heh. "And you, Emily," he looked to her now, "you're starting out at as a Junior Auror, as you know, but with full Auror pay." No more of that apprentice nonsense. "I'd also like to give you a two-week bonus IF you would be willing to sort of act as a... leader for the YATIs. A YATIL, if you will, since you've been through the training before, you know what it's like, and you have the respect of those who have worked with you and over you." I.E., he liked her. She was a good kid--- well, adult now, whatever. "If you accept, Emily, I thought this might help you out, Jax," Wes glanced at him once more, only now he had a twinkle in his eye, "since I know how busy you get with your missions." Personal ones too. He sort of sat back in his seat once he'd said that spiel and waited |
He LIKED having a door? Well that was a shame, she would have been only too happy to help out. Emily sat, and observed, not paying too close attention to the New Boss Mans discussion with Jax, cause... well she wasn't snoopy. But she heard and understood. Promotion = pay rise... no brainer right there. However she was paying VERY close attention as the conversation turned to her. A two week bonus... more responsibility... why would she say no? On the one hand the YATI kids did annoy her, on the other hand, she could teach them a thing or two about not stepping on toes, following protocol and giving everything they have when it comes to training and study. This was another no brainer, she wasn't about to pass up an opportunity like this. "Well in that case, I accept," she said nodding, "Thank you for the opportunity... I won't let you down." She was speaking to BOTH her New Boss Man and her new Head Auror Man, because she really did appreciate the opportunity. More so, she appreciated their belief in her. Now THAT, was something. So it was as simple as that? |
Jaxton leant forward slightly as Wesley started talking to them both. As he was told that he'd get his pay rise he nodded. He already knew that - but it was nice for it to be set in stone now. However, the title of Head Auror made the older man smirk. Oh yes, he'd sort of missed that title. As Wesley asked if that was still fine, he nodded his head. "Of course not, I'm not going to step down already." He rolled his eyes slightly - although he was (mostly) just being sarcastic with his best friend. Oh well. No-one would believe Emily if she told anyone... but more than likely she wouldn't tell anyone anyway. As Wesley turned to talk to Emily, he smiled. Jaxton wasn't one to praise anyone if they didn't deserve it - but she was a good learner, a hard worker and she definitely wasn't afraid to get stuck in and get dirty... exactly what you needed in the Auror's who were just joining the team... and in those who had been there for years. Boredum would lead to accidents. He gave Emily a rare - genuine - smile and nodded his head with Wesley. "I'm sure you will do a fantastic job, Emily." He looked back to Wesley, wondering if he wanted to add more stipulations for either of them. |
"Excellent!" Wes exhaled happily, glad Emily hadn't taken too long to think that one over. "You'll be the first official YATIL, you know, so do a good job and set a good precedent for the others." He was sure she would. He nodded at her, glad to see Jax smiling too. "The only other uh, thing I have to ask you is a personal matter.... I wasn't sure if Izzy had mentioned it or not, since I know you two are close...." He kind of raised his eyebrows at her, as if testing the water to see if she knew what he was talking about and flicked his eyes toward Jax. "Well Merlin, man, I know you're not going to step down. Not when I have missions for you already." He picked up one thin file that had been sitting under his stack of papers and tossed it to him. "I need you to go.... check on something in France when you get a chance." I.E. as soon as possible, but he wasn't going to say anything else with Emily here. |
Jax sat back and listened as Wesley once again turned his attention to Emily. His hands were folded in his hands and he was relaxed - for once. He needed to talk to Wesley, but that could wait until Emily had left the room. Obviously. Heh. However much Jax wanted to continue his relaxed stance - he couldn't help but laugh at Wesley as he said that he knew he wouldn't be leaving. He shot him a grin and then caught the file that had been put in his direction. "Of course." He tilted the file so that Emily wouldn't be able to see the information within, and opened the file to read the first page while continuing to listen to Wesley and Emily talking. He'd leave later that day once he had the Auror's sorted. It didn't look like it would take long - a day or two max. Hmmm. He could stop in past Ali's cafe and bring back coffee. Good coffee. He liked that idea. |
Set a good precedent? Oh PUH-LEEESE! Of course she would... right? RIGHT?! Emily just nodded, of course she would do her best, and her best was epic, ergo... no drama right? "They'll have to jump through pretty high hoops," she assured him, seeing as she was going to raise the bar for them. She sort of figured that was it, as in, she could leave now, but it seemed like New Boss Man had other ideas. "Personal matter?" .... Emily froze.. Personal, was an icky word, one she disliked hearing from OTHER people. She was only ever comfortable with the word when she was the one using it. She stared blankly, shaking her head. Emily was briefly distracted by the file Wes handed Jax. MISSION STUFF! SHE WANTED ONE OF THOSE. But like, when she was MORE epic than she already was and all that jazz. Right, personal stuff, what the? |
Wes watched as Jax focused on the papers before him and then turned his attention to Emily. He couldn't help but smile --- even smirk a bit --- as she spoke up and then started squirming. Heh. "Yes, personal matter. Personal for... Izzy and myself, see." His eyes flicked to Jax briefly, knowing full well that he'd get made fun of this later, before turning back to Emily. Ah this was going to be awkward. What if she said no??! "Um. Izzy and I are looking for a .... an, er, an extra bridesmaid of sorts? And we were hoping you'd be it. Her. A flower... woman. For Izzy." He realized that his face was slowly turning red, but he didn't break his eye contact with Emily yet. Pleeeeeeeeeease, YATIL? Please say yes. |
SPOILER!!: from here The silvery dove that was the Patronus of the new Accidents and Catastrophes Department Head rushed through to Wes's office. Whether it was looking for Wes or someone else was unclear but the message itself surely stated the urgency with which it had been sent. |
Jaxton tried. Honestly he did. No, honestly... but have you tried watching your MANLY HIT WIZARD best friend ask a GROWN WOMAN, turned AUROR who likes to hurt people and set things on fire to be their flower girl in their wedding? Yeah. Didn't think so. YOU try doing it without laughing. Jaxton lifted the file slightly as he chuckled under his breath... although he was mostly waiting for Emily's response - this would be good. However, before she got any further - a silvery patronus dove flew into the office and relayed its message. He raised an eyebrow and looked at Wesley. "Want me to go and get Gabe?" |
GASP what's this? a LINK to LEVEL 3?!! :O Quote:
Wes pretended not to be startled by the silvery dove swooping into his office, but it was obvious he was still a little jumpy from that awkward moment with Emily. Um. He'd deal with this thing bothering the A&C woman first. Quote:
"No, you can just go," he flicked his hand at his friend with a grunt. "Tell Ms. Schirmer I just had to send her my best." He smirked. Izzy would be hearing about this one later. She'd mentioned the A&C head more than a few times around Wes. "Take your file with you. If you have questions... owl me. But if you leave tonight you'll be back in time for training." He nodded brusquely to Jaxton and then took his time shuffling some files on his desk so he wouldn't have to make eye contact with anyone else. |
SPOILER!!: Wes Jaxton looked up at Wesley with a sly grin for a few seconds as he got a glare from his best friend. Heh. Laughing at his YATIL was more than worth it for a few seconds of glaring from them both. Heh. He sighed. Loudly. Rolled his eyes. Then grinned. Jaxton stood up fluidly and made to go towards the door. "I'll make sure that everyone knows what they have to do tomorrow before the training in two days - and Emily can look after the YATI's tomorrow. Second day on the job, and straight in the deep end." He grinned slightly, knowing that she would do perfectly. "I'll let you know what was happening in A&C." He said finally before walking straight out the door. He headed straight to see Althea. |
Quoting is lame *whistles* One second she was totally getting an awesome new job title promotiony thingo... and the next second she was being relegated to... flower girl? At IZZY'S wedding!!!... A FLOWER GIRL FOR MERLINS SAKE! Emily just stared, it was all she could do to stop herself from yelling or screaming or hexing. HOW was she supposed to respond to that? Seriously? Oh sure Mr New Boss Man I'll wear a pretty tutu and chuck petals in peoples faces at your wedding?... No. Yes? Maybe? For Izzy... Really, it wasn't surprising that Wes was the one to ask her to be a FLOWER GIRL. Being her New Boss Man and all she could hardly tell him his place. Izzy on the other hand.. well she'd be happy to tell Izzy how she felt about flowers. But it WAS a wedding... and she DID love Izzy.... SO.. therefore... it might not be so bad. "For Izzy I'd be honoured to be her... flower... woman... thing. On one condition. NO pink." So that settled that right? RIGHT?! She was SOMEWHAT aware of what had been going on while she was STARING at New Boss Man, and the last of Jax's words registered with her. "I like the deep end..." she mused as Jax left the office. |
"Sounds good, Jax," Wes found himself saying, even as his Head Auror walked out the door. He smiled at Emily a little, particularly at the 'deep end' bit, and waited for her response. He was still a little anxious that she was going to hex him for asking. But as it turned out, he'd said just the right thing to get her into his wedding party. Perfect. Izzy would be so pleased with him now. "Great, Emily. Iz and I appreciate it. We really do." And she'd find out shortly that the bridesmaids were wearing purple, not pink. Heh. He wouldn't mention that now, though. Instead, he stood up and led the way to the door. "Thanks again for stepping up, both here at work and elsewhere." As for the deep end... "Hope you can swim!" Wes might have been smirking just a little as he held the door open for her. |
Emily was RELIEVED... SUPER relieved in fact, as Wes led er to the door, to kick her out of his office. The last thing she wanted was more time for him to ask her to do more painful things... like... paint his toenails? Or something? Maybe even arrange flowers for his office. Cause that's be awkward and just plain weird. Though, he hadn't said anything about the PINK thing, so Emily was still a LITTLE unsure about the whole thing. Meh. "It's no problem, really," she said quickly to New Boss Man's thanks. Cause really, she was stoked about the whole work thing. ANYTHING the bulk up her CV a little was always going to be appreciated. Just so long as she didn't end up being a full time baby sitter, what with Chosen and Carter acting like children and what not. Emily paused briefly before exiting the office. She shrugged. "I'm sure YATI make good floaties... should I need it." PPPFFFFTTTTTTT. Now.. where were her YATI? Hhhhhmmmmm?? Emily strode off toward the Auror Office wondering what Chosen would make of the news. |
Millie knocked on boss man's door. she was sure it was about her payraise review she sent in last month but wasnt sure and seeing as how she never was called into anyones office this made her nervous. she took a step back and awaited him to tell her to come in or open it himself |
Chuckling as he showed Emily out the door, Wes called out, "Appreciate it!" one last time and then decided to shut up before he became annoying and Emily changed her mind. He'd just shut the door and turned around when there was... another knock. Merlin, the job just didn't end, did it? Quote:

"Did you also know you do a very good job in your current position?" He raised his brows. "I realize that enforcing... legislation can be tedious work, so if you'd like a change of pace, I can offer you something more active." He passed a bit of parchment her way and gave her a second to look it over before saying anything else. Quote:
