Office of Rex Vindictus, Department Head The solid oak door had been polished to a glassy smooth finish and golden letters announced the name of the occupant in simplistic grandeur: Behind the door, is a modern office that is both relaxing and environmentally friendly. On the far wall are massive window panes that currently displays a tropical beach with the waves lapping onto the white sand. Please knock and wait before entering. |
Blake straightened his new robes while walking towards the door. He put on his best smile and ran his fingers through his hair quickly. Taking out his handy mirror he took one last look at himself before knocking three times on the door. He was hoping to introduce himself to his new boss. ANd first impressions are everything. |

He walked towards the office of his boss again and saw, to his delight, that another male was standing in front of the door too. He looked as the man was checking his reflection in a ..very handy mirror.. hmm he needed to buy one too. The one he was using was sooo tiny and , old fashioned. He took a deep sigh and stepped forward. "Good day, sir." he said with a smile. "Are you also going in to introduce yourself?" Aedan asked and nodded towards the door. He turned his head back at the other male and held his hand out. "I'm Katharos by the way, Aedan Katharos, i'm a new employee here..." |

The twenty-three year old nodded his head, "Yeah, I thought it would be nice to introduce myself. Really?!?! Your first day too?" He was relieved to find out that someone else was new as well. |
Before heading to her new office, Florence decided to take a moment to introduce herself to the Department Head. After all, she would be working under the man, receiving orders and whatnot, so she thought it a good move. Rounding the corner, she saw two other men waiting outside the door conversing, so she immediately turned around and hid behind the corner like a child. Way to start your day, dummy. Florence was slightly shy, but not much. She was convincing herself that hiding behind the corner had nothing to do with the two men standing outside the door, that she was just waiting for them to take their turns. She didn't want to appear as if she were desperate for attention or anything. Again with the over-analyzing? What's wrong with you?! She thought. So Florence waited, occasionally peeking out from behind the corner, hoping they hadn't noticed her... |

He knew that he should have posted some sort of notice on his door and on the announcement board regarding his absence due to the Quidditch World Cup that was held in the Kalahari Desert instead of outside of Alice Springs, Australia due to the serious security breach that marred the European Quidditch Cup nine months earlier. The sudden failure of the wards on the stadium put the entire Wizarding World on red alert and the sport was suspended until thorough inspections were made. Whoever was responsible for the emergency must had a large group of witches and wizards working for them because over 80 pitches world-wide failed (including the two major pitches in Australia) and only 20 thus far had been 'repaired'. Despite the sabotage, the Quidditch World Cup did go on as planned (at a different venue, of course) and Spain was victorious. Now that it was over, it was time to get back to work and hope that no more disasters would interfere with the daily operations of the department. Wearing black and sporting two-days worth of stubble on his chin, Rex Vindictus looked rather intimidating as he strode from the Level 7 lifts through the work cubicles straight to the door of his office. "Excuse me," he said as he made his way past the employees who were gathered outside his office. There was a distinctive clicking sound as the security wards on his office door were unlocked and he pushed the door open. He nearly groaned when he noticed a pile of mail stacked neatly in his 'In' box that sat on his desk. But he had something to distract him before he could settle down to read his mail. "Come on in," Rex called out to the employees and seated himself behind his desk. |

That was close, thought Florence. She thought that man had almost seen her! But when she looked back around the corner, she saw Mr. Vindictus walking towards his office. The men there moved out of his way so he could get into his office. I'll just wait here and keep checking around the corner to see if the coast is clear, she thought once more. Again, Florence seemed like a lunatic. |

Aedan had become tired of waiting. He held his hands on the back of his head as he leaned against the wall close by. "Ya! if the boss doesn't show up in the n--" Aedan quickly shuts his mouth as a man walked directly towards them. That was no employee, no way. The way he walked around with that look of authority...it made Aedan a tad bit jealous , but more fascinated. Waah so cool! He watched as blackbeard walked past them and did something to the door that it would open up. After hearing the words that they could come in he waited till the other two were in and followed them. The moment he had entered his new bosses office he could not help but look around. He wanted an office like that too! Just thinking about it made his hands twitch. His eyes landed back on their boss as he sat down in his chair and it was then he remembered why he was here. Introducing, right... Aedan waited until Blake finished his introduction and slightly groaned as he said a 'Lo. Taking a deep breath, Aedan wondered how to say a former hello. "Good day , sir" Ooooh your starting good Aedan! ...now what? Say hello? ..how are ya? .. whazzup? .. No that was so hogwartslish, he wasn't a hogwartsling? anymore! he was a adult! "I wanted to formely introduce myself" Waah awesome boy! "My name is Aedan Katharos and i'm one of the new employees" Ok ok that wasn't so bad ? ...was it? |

Bad joke. Smile. "Enough small talk - let me give each of you your assignments." Rex picked up a magenta folder on his desk and handed it to Blake. "Mr. Evergreen, please read up on the latest models of racing brooms that are scheduled to hit the market in six months and see if any of them meets requirements. There are a few that sound rather dodgy." "The bright orange folder is your's, Mr. Katharos. We need twelve new Gobstone arenas created in the UK and make sure that Scotland and Wales get at least three each." He picked up the orange folder with his left hand and held it towards Aedan. "Any questions?" |
After waiting several minutes, Florence decided she could probably walk into the office without falling down or anything. So, she peeked behind the corner once more, saw the coast was clear, and set off for the office. She stopped directly in front of the door, and knocked. |

"Hello, sir. My name is Florence Ares. I just wanted to formally introduce myself, and see if there is anything specific I should do." Florence said as she stepped into the office of her Department Head. She looked around the office, admiring it. She was beginning to get a bit nervous, when he spoke to her. |

He then grabbed the orange folder and like Blake he too flipped through the pages. "Twelve new Gobstones arenas in Uk and Scotland and Wales atleast three each." he mumbled, more to himself than to anyone else. He then thought of a question but nothing popped in his mind at the moment. Maybe later but at the moment he was eager to begin working. "I'm at the task, Sir" he said and walked backwards out of the room. . And at the door he turned around to walk to his working place. |
Rex was about to say something else when he realized that he was late for a meeting. "Sorry, but I need to get to a meeting. Please remind your colleagues who haven't bothered to stop by my office to check the Announcement Board for their assignments," he said as he walked towards his office door. "I want an update on things when I get back." Without another word, he stepped out of his office. |
J.J. Starr knocks on Mr. Vindictus dooe. Joe Jon Montxenaggio is very happy. J.J. got the schedule done.. |
Katie Victor approached the door to Vindictus's office. She was wearing long black pants which looked tight and a gray t-shirt. Katie was excited to meet the department head. She knocked on the door and waited. It seemed that there were other people to see him as well, and she wasn't the first. So she decided she might as well work out in the meantime. Victor started doing push-ups on the wall while she waited. |
Rex had just finished a lengthy conversation via fire and now could address the knocking at his door. With a simple verbal command, the door unlocked itself and opened just as the Department Head seated himself behind his desk. "Come in!" he called out. |
A sudden flash of pale-violet appears in the office, and upon looking up, one can see that an interdepartmental memo in the form of a folded paper airplane has made its way in. Once caught and unfolded, the memo inside will read: Minister Berty Borr has called a mandatory meeting with the Senior Undersecretary and all Ministry Department Heads. The meeting will commence immediately in Courtroom 10 on the tenth level of the Ministry of Magic. Please be on time and bring with you all ideas and responses to the recent memo regarding the rejuvenating of our spirits and the oxygenating of our halls. |
Blake walked up to the door and knocked three times. He had his report in hand and wanted to turn it in just as Rex had said to do. It wasn't actually that hard to put together, granted it was tiring testing all those Quaffles, but some good well come out of it later on. Quidditch players all over the world will need this information. Hehe. Now to wait for the door to be answered.... |
The memo shaped like a bird with a large beak soared into the office. As it found its appropriate recipient it began to squawk loudly at him. It would continue to do so until he took the note, read it and responded. Quote:

Rex was the first to enter his office and another one of the annoying memos was lying on his desk. One quick glance and he dropped it in the rubbish bin like he did with the others. Liason. They should just deal with me directly. Besides, I have more important matters to deal with. Shaking his head, he walked over to a replica portrait of a group of wizards playing Stitchstock and opened it like a door. Behind the portrait was a safe. Using his wand, clicks and whirls were heard until a loud pop was heard. Rex pulled on the handle, opened the door, and took out several small bags. He then closed the door and locked the safe. The portrait swung shut and the department head returned to his desk. Rex heard four people approaching his office and began speaking. "This should be enough to cover anything you pick up. If you spend more, please save the receipt and you'll be reimbursed. Your job is to be at the carnival and when it's over, report back here and bring whatever you could find. Keep your eyes and ears open at all times - constant vigilance . . . and good luck!" Okay, a little drama never hurts anyone. Besides, its not often that anyone from Games and Sports gets to go pseudo-undercover. There were two bags in each of his upturned palms - one for each of the volunteers. All they had to do was take their bags and head to the carnival. |
