Oh. The charms were still broken. Isobel sighed, pulling a fresh piece of parchement closer, and writing a quick memo to Althea. But just as she was about to send it to Thea, she heard the end of what Alex was saying to her. Was that supposed to be insulting. Isobel stopped mid writing, and her gaze went from her desk to meet Alex's. It was lucky that she thought with her head before she got her wand out, otherwise Alex might have been on the end of a nasty jinx. Isobel considered that might not have been the best thing to do to her employee's. "I specialised in how to defeat the dark arts. Not silly old charms." Did this woman even know what an auror did. "And as a matter of face I have already liased with the head of the department of accident and catastrophes to deal with any further issues we have." Hence why she was writing her a memo right now. That was all Isobel was going to say about the situation. She was not done with Alex though. "And if you speak to me like that you may not have a job." Isobel just gave her a look. "I am your boss remember." |
Okay, so perhaps she HAD overreacted slightly. Really, she hadn't meant to offend. Be demanding, yes maybe, but offend, never. She was never the offensive type. Just overreactive and defensive and protective. Uncrossing her arms, she laced her fingers together in front of her instead. "Right. I'm ... I didn't mean to react so strongly, but I was just ... befuddled about why the charms still weren't working." She would have attempted fixing them herself, but she was pretty sure she wasn't authorized to be messing around with the charms and barricades for the doors. "Is there something else I could help with maybe? While I await to check out the floating solar system and all." Otherwise she should just call it a day or whatnot, but she didn't want to just leave without permission. That would probably add another strike onto herself from her boss and she really enjoyed working here, so she'd rather not upset her boss to the point where she'd have to be fired. |
Demetrius walked to his bosses office to asked her about the mysterious deaths that were happening at St. Mungos before he went over there to ask. He was not really a people person. So he wanted to know the facts before he got there and started interrogating them inferior healers. He knocked on the door and waited. He was really pale and had huge bags under his eyes. He has not been out of the Death Chamber in a couple days due to all the work he had to do. He was ready to take a small vacation but he needed Isobel's approval. That was the second thing on his agenda. He wanted to go back to Greece, get on his yacht, gather some "friends" and have an awesome week. He kept looking at his new animated basilisk tattoo that covers his arm. It really did turn out pretty well. He looked at it one more time and then turned his mind to the stone archway and what he wanted Isobel to do about it. Hmm.. Demetrius thought it had to do with some crack he fixed and if it was a good enough fix. But he was smart enough to fix that. Oh Demetrius can't remember right now. He leaned against the wall and tapped his foot waiting. |

Oh. Alex wanted something to do. "Could you...." She mused, thinking for a few moments, before nodding. "Check if any of the other charms aren't working." She then realised that Alex might not be able to actually get into any of the rooms. "Pass your badge..." She motioned for the badge, and when Alex handed it over, she tapped it, allowing her entrance to the other rooms. "I'll owl Thea, and see if she can send anybody down." Quote:

Hello, Alex" Demetrius said with a nod. It looked like Alex was just about to leave and Demetrius wanted to do the same. But he procrastinated on this assignment. So he had to do it. It only took one look at Isobel to see that she was pregnant. "Congratulations, Isobel." But She probably did not want to announce it yet. Whatever, now that congratulations were done. It was time to move on to business. Even though all Demetrius wanted to do was go home and hop he did not drool all over his bed. "I wanted to talk to you about the mysterious deaths at the ministry before i go over there to take care of it." He really did not want to go to St. Mungos. Because he and Healers do not really get along. He liked death and Healers try and stop or slow down death. Which did not make sense to Demetrius. Since you were probably going to die anyway. |

"Yes, I can check. Thank you," Alex said, handing over her badge and watching as Isobel tapped it. Quote:
Mysterious deaths? Well then, she was intrigued, to say the least, and simply stood motionless, waiting, rather than excusing herself from the office. It wasn't as if he requested privacy. |
"Awesome." Isobel nodded with a smile. That would be a huge help to her. Then she could tell Thea exactly what was still going on. "Just sent a memo with any details instead of coming back over. Save your legs..." She laughed. Izzy was certainly in no position to be walking all over the department. It was kind of annoying really. The sooner this baby was the born the better. Although she probably would be even more stressed at least she would be actual able to walk around. It would be much better. And if the baby slept lots and didn't cry. That would be pretty awesome too. Isobel frowned, wiping a finger underneath her mouth. She was drooling? Eww. Interesting. She grabbed a tissue, and wiped her finger, before turning her attention back to the people in the office. "Aah..." Isobel nodded, smiling at Demetrius. "Would you like to take a seat?" She motioned at the seats on the other side of her desk. Hmm. Alex was still here? "Was there anything else Alex?" |
Quote:
"Sure" He took a seat, crossed his legs, wiped some more drool off his mouth, and waited for Isobel to continue. He did not care if Alex was in the room. She might even be able to help. Who knows. He was sure she could not hurt his investigation. |
After receiving Isobel's letter, Ella had put the baby kneazle back into its cage before heading down to level nine. She had never been down there before and quite frankly... it scared her a bit when she got down there. It was dark and mysterious (no pun intended). She had to read over the letter a couple times to get the instructions right because she was a little distracted, but she eventually found her way inside the department. Tucking the letter back into her purse, Ella found Isobel's office, knocked on the door a few times and patiently waited to be let in. |

Send a memo; she nodded. She could do that. As she was standing by the doorway though, she heard her boss talking to Demetrius and she shot a casual glance back at Isobel, in time to see her wipe her mouth. Did pregnancy cause overreactive saliva glands? She didn't know, but made a note to owl Leanne about that. "No, no," she said, hearing a knock on the door. She'd gotten her business done with the department head just in time before it got busier, it seemed. She spared another glance at Demetrius and was about to leave - again - as he wiped his mouth, again. Perhaps the overreactive saliva glands wasn't from the pregnancy hormones. "Unless, well, actually, can i get a sample?" She asked quietly, reaching into her bag for some extra test tubes. What?! It wasn't that ODD for science nerds to be carrying around extra supplies with them at all times, was it? |
Quote:
Demetrius raised an eyebrow at Alex's question.Did Alex really think that they were her test subjects. Not that Demetrius had any problem with that. Maybe Isobel did. "Are You feeling sick too Alex and what type of sample do you want ?" Maybe she could solve what was making him and Isobel drool so much. It looked like she had an interest in science. Making himself more relaxed. He took a good long look at Alex to check and see if she started drooling. |
Two Time lines XD Hmm. Demetrius was drooling. "Do you need a tissue?" Isobel asked, nodding her head towards a box that was placed on her desk. She would've reached over and gotten one for her employee. But it was a little of a struggle right, and really she was feeling rather comfortable. Izzy had some epic back pain most of the time, so it was nice to actually be comfortable for once. Wesley would be happy, even though by the time they got home her back would probably be killing. He'd probably push her to go on maternity leave even sooner. Oh. Alex wanted a sample. "Hmm..." She wanted a sample of what? Oh. The drool. Well. Isobel wasn't actually drooling anymore. That had kind of gone away now. So nothing for Alex to collect. The woman shrugged, and looked back down to the memo that she was reading, staring at it a little, before finally picking up her quill, and scribbling on the parchment. Quote:
"The doors open." She said after a few minutes, when she was finally comfortable. |

A purple paper airplane, complete with the emblem of the Ministry of Magic stamped along its sides, makes its ways through the lifts and corridors of the Ministry of Magic. Reaching its destination, the interdepartmental memo comes to rest in front of its intended recipient. When unfolded, it reads: Quote:

First day back at ministry:: Tasha took the lift down to level 9 to see if her sister was free for some afternoon tea and cupcakes. It was a bit of a hassle to not loose the grip on her tray of cupcakes as she stepped out onto level 9. Passing the receptionist she gave the woman a nod in greeting before she walked over to Izzy's office. Knocking on the door without dropping the tray proved to be a small feat but she managed it. Knock, knock! Taking a step back Tasha waited for her sister to come to the door. |
Isobel hadn't really been doing much on the first day back in the office. Other that sorting through a few pieces of paper, figuring what needed to be done. She knew her sister would be popping down at some point, and although she wasn't too sure when she'd be coming down. It was part of the reason why she wasn't making herself too busy. It would be good to catch up with her sister, and she needed to ask her about the whole Dorian thing. It was very interesting. Picking up her coffee, she took a sip just as the door knocked. Ahh. That must have been her sister now. Tucking the papers into a draw of her desk, she stood up, heading towards the door. Pulling it open she smiled at her sister. "Good morning Tasha." |
Quote:
"Shall we go in and drink some tea together with them?" Tasha wondered. Hopefully the cupcakes were edible. Izzy was the expert baker not her. |
Quote:
"Mmm. Sounds very good." She nodded, wandering back over to behind her desk. Picking up her wand, she conjured some tea. "Having a good day then Tash?" |
Quote:
Plopping herself down in one of the chairs in front of her sister's desk she took a cupcake which she. "Yes, a very good day. It’s actually fun and interesting to research spells." As weird as it may sound considering that Tasha had never before had any big interest in researching spells. "How has your day been Iz?" |
Having received a note from their department head to meet in her office, Evelyn exited the ever-locked room and paused to rub her eyes. Despite having worked here for awhile, the different lighting of the rooms still caused a slight problem. Thankfully not as much as before. It was easily ignored. Smoothing out her blouse as she made her way to Isobel's office, Evelyn did a quick swish of her hair to look presentable before knocking softly on the door. |
Isobel was hoping that Evelyn would come by her office soon. She was wanting to pop over to her sister's and make sure that her boys were okay. But she wanted to sort this with Evelyn first. She would only forget if she didn't sort it. Just as she was thinking about it, she heard a knock on her door. Hopefully that would be Evelyn. Placing her quill down, she put the piece of parchment she'd been writing on into the draw. She'd finish that letter later. "Come in" She called out a few seconds later. |
Hearing the go ahead to walk in, the young woman opened the door and peaked her head in first before the rest of her slowly followed. "You wanted to see me, Mrs. Ferguson?" she asked, one hand still on the doorknob with the door half closing, just in case this wasn't a particular good time to be here. Seemed alright from the looks of it though. |
Isobel smiled as it was Evelyn that had come up into the room. She was glad that it was Evelyn, because she really didn't know what she would have done if it hadn't been her. She wasn't really expecting anyone else today. So it was a very good thing that it was Evelyn. "Hello Evelyn...call me Isobel." Because it was still odd when people called her Mrs Ferguson. Sure she loved being Mrs Ferguson. But it was way too formal. So yes. Everyone could call her Isobel. "Take a seat...." She murmured, motioning to the seats in front of her desk. |
Isobel. Evelyn slowly nodded, casting her gaze downwards as she fully closed the door behind her. That wasn't going to be awkward to say at all, now was it? Not after being used to 'Mrs. Ferguson' for awhile now. Taking a seat in front of her boss's desk, she crossed one leg over the other and waited quietly for Isobel to start. Ahem. Fidget. |
Isobel smiled as Evelyn sat down. Ahh now where was that job description she had written out. "You've been working for the ministry for...." She paused, as she opened Evelyn's file that she'd put onto her desk. "Four years correct?" Because if not her file was incorrect, and that just would not do. She flicked the page over, before looking up at Evelyn. The girl was clearly long due a promotion. "Now...." She paused, popping her quill back onto the desk. "I feel....you are long due a promotion." She smiled at her. Surely that would make the girl happy. "Which is why I asked you to pop in." |
