Office of Department Head Isobel Ferguson http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/a...obeloffice.jpg One would think that Isobel Ferugson is rather paranoid. Before she even started one the rest of the department she stripped the office back to basics, and with the help of Wesley Ferguson, department head of Magical Law Enforcement she put up a number of security spells, hexes and curses. Being an ex-auror Isobel did quite trust anything that had previously been placed on the room. The office now is pretty much impenetrable, and one can only enter if they know all of the spells that in place. Only a select number of people know this, so it is probably a good idea to not try to break into the office. When one does get into the room it is clear that the office is now inhabited by a woman. Along with the décor of the break from the department head’s office is now decorated in a light blue colour, which is supposed to promote a relaxing atmosphere within the room. The main focus of the room is the large mahogany table, behind which the department head is sat when she is in the office. The desk has a small collection of photographs clustered on one side, whilst the main focus of the left hand side of the desk is a calendar that has been engraved into the desk. The calendar was a gift from Isobel’s Husband Wesley Ferguson, and the two calendars are enchanted to show the couple each other’s appointments. To the right of Isobel’s desk is a handsome fireplace, which is connected to other various fireplaces within the ministry and beyond, to aid quick transportation. The fireplace is of course pass worded, and only Isobel and the people she trusts know the password. Of course the destinations this fireplace connects to are also unknown to most, and if one was to try to use the fireplace by force they may find there selves ending up in the holding cells in Level Two. Above this fireplace hangs a rather large commissioned portrait of Isobel and her husband Wesley. The subjects are sometimes within the portrait, but more often than not they can be seen visiting other portraits within the ministry. Tucked in a corner of the office is a small table surrounded by eight chairs. This is often where the department head may hold small meetings with employee’s or maybe the other department head’s. If any unspeakables require a small area to hold meetings they may inquire about using this space, although the answer will only be in the affirmative if Isobel is not using the office. Despite all of the security spells, hexes and curses that are in place within the office Isobel is quite a nice woman, and the door is always open to any of her employees. All they need do is knock on the door. OOC: Only Dept of Mysteries employees and authorized guests can RP in this thread |
Leonidas walked up the small set of stairs that lead to Department Heads office to formally introduce himself and to see where his work station was. when he reached the door, he took the emerald partof his walking stick/wand, and gently rapped on the door. |
Coming from the meeting with his Unspeakables at the workstations, Ren Sakura walked up to the platform that is his office. He slowed his pace slightly when he found somone was already there seeking audience. As he strode up beside the man the Dept Head gave him a quick glance and, not saying a word otherwise, he continued into the doorway, the protective shield-door vanishing immediately to let him through. |
Leonidas walked into his bos's office and sat down. He took out his wand and waved it at the door and it shut immediately. "Good day, Mr. Sakura. I was wondering where my work station is and how I got there. I'd be much obliged if you can give me that information, please." |
Dark, cruel eyes flickered from his desk towards the sound of the shutting door. Just when was there a door to this office? There was a protective shield at most, but oftentimes it was just an open doorway-- part of the open-door policy of the Ministry that Ren found most annoying. His eyes trailed dangerously from the door towards the person speaking before him-- who also managed to find a seat in an office that obviously had no visitors chairs as he made sure there wasnt any. Ren's face scrunched up annoyed and with a flick of his wrist, silently made the seat beneath the other man vanish. He didnt care if that made the other fellow come crashing onto the floor. "You will stand in my presence when you speak to me." He addressed the Unspeakable in an even tone, not bothering to stop from sorting out paperwork on his desk. Although it was noted that the other man addressed him properly, from which he gets a quick glance "Who are you?" |
"Me? Well I'm pretty much a no one, sir. But my name is Leonidas Trevors. I work in the department where the brains are and to know Legillemancy and Occlumancy, as well as matters of the subconscience and special mind areas. I just can't seem to find that department, sir." When the chair that he was sitting on suddendly he staggered backwards, obviously, but he managed to catch his footing andstand at attention. "Sorry, sir, I'll remember that one, also." He placed his wand back in the walking stick and stood straight and poised, as not to disrespect his boss again. He suddenly stopped thinking and made his mind all cloudy as to not let his boss read his mind. He waited for the answer to his original question. |
"Mr Trevors....." he repeated the other man's name, eyes going to the parchment by the side of his desk. Yes there it is-- name, photo, background. The man is indeed who he says he is. Without pausing from his task he added exasperatedly "Mr Trevors, if you are a no one as you just said you are, then I definitely would not have taken you into this department-- indeed the entire Ministry would have just passed on your application." If this was the man's attempt to be modest, it didnt work on Ren. What department of brains? "You mean the Thought Chamber" Ren scowled, this time pausing from his paperwork to look at the other man. If he had read the welcome letter properly he would know its proper name and the answer to most if not all his questions. But eh, new guys "The Thought Chamber is right there, by the foot of the stairs..." Ren angled his head as he used his eyes to direct the other man where to look, ".... its next to the Death Chamber and across from your work area.... which you probbaly saw when you came in from the entrance." Because you know, circular, shielded desks, right smack in the center of this silo like office-- cant miss it. Just as he was about to return to his paperwork, something about what the other man said got him dangerously curious. Leaning back in his seat, the Department Head pressed his fingers against each other as he regarded the man across his desk. Finally he uttered "Why are you so interested to learn about legilimency and occlumency Mr Trevors? Have you had any experience or encounters with that subject matter?" |
"Yes, sir. I have, indeed. It's not that I wish to learn those arts, because I already know how to use both. I was just explaining where I thought my work was to be and my desk, sir." As he watched his superior turn his head, he did, too. He thought to himself, "Ahhh, there it is." "Thank you, sir. I'm glad you straigtned me out to this. I will not try to bother you with these obviously foolish questions again, sir. But, if you should ever need my help with something, anything, I will be here, available to help you in anyway I possibly can." Leonidas bowed to Mr. Sakura gracefully and straightened up and lifted his head and quickly left his boss's office, shutting the door behind him almost silently. |
Following the direction of the employee on the floor Medea climbed the stairs. Reaching the top of the stairs she looked around, ”Mr. Sakura?” This place was certainly different than every other department she visited. IT WAS AWESOME! This place was so quiet, spooky and intriguing. And the best part was they could be creating ANYTHING, and no one would know. Medea wanted to laugh a powerful cackle sort of laugh, but opted for a more professional approach. ”Mr. Sakura, its Medea Ward; I owl’ed you about the Liaison position?” |
Dark eyes follow Trevors as he exits the door. It wasnt so much that Ren found him odd-- more so... inconsistent, the man's seemingly purposeful avoidance to direct questions being more of an conundrum with the Department Head. Was he hiding something? A truth or a bluff? Quote:

Quote:
The man seemed dark, mysterious and POWERFUL! oooohhhh aahhhhh Frankly Mr. Sakura could have been the dullest knife in the drawer but the position he held was impressive. Medea was sure he knew things that… that well could take over the world! Collect yourself woman. She nodded as she approached and took advantage of the offered seat. Like in the other offices the woman did not recline into the chair, but rather sat on the edge. She opened a file as he looked over his information sheet. Straight to business. ”Yes sir. It’s extremely basic really.” Medea shifted slightly and continued, ”The Liaison will continue to hold their position in your department and it would be their main occupation. Once a week I would require a status update from them regarding the department. This update would include ongoing projects, tasks completed, and any other important updates. This person really is intended to assist the Department Heads.” The woman wasn’t sure she believed that. In her honest opinion the liaisons were Lord Borr’s spies. Why else would they have unlimited access to whatever they wanted? Meetings, personal records, memos. You name it they can obtain, and no one can stop them. ”Lord Borr knows the Department Heads are busy and don’t always have time to do weekly updates.” Most people would have smiled a friendly little smile at this moment; it seemed the right thing to do. But that wasn’t Medea, in most cases anyways. ”So, the Liaisons bring me a short update. I collect them all and deliver them all at one time.” A simple, concise and boring position really. Right? Maybe. Medea honestly had no idea… but she had hopes of sinister Department Head tattling and drama. "Do you have anyone in mind?" |
"Hmm...." the Department Head pressed his fingers together and looked carefully at the Minister's emissary. "Someone to assist me...." or keep tabs whether he was doing his job or not. Although really Ren shouldnt have to be bothered with Lord Borr, after all, if he wasnt babysitting adults then he is dealing with them outside of these halls on a request that would likely come from the same man himself. Seriously he should be paid twice. "So the Liason will be like... a deputy, to the Department Head? Taking a bit of the tedious work off our hands?" He would like to think that it was something as trivial a job that can be filled by a glorified Admin assistant, but sending reports out on a weekly basis was much more invasive. He slid a hand across the edge of his desk and braced his arms against it as he continued "Just how detailed would you require this update to be Ms Ward? You do know that in this Department there are information and activities that shouldnt be widespread Ministry knowledge, much less public knowledge." His eyes glanced across the open area down the circular desks of the Unspeakables below "I may have..... but I want to keep my options open." he replied as his returned his gaze to the lady across his desk. Loose lips sink ships after all, certainly he wouldnt want to have such a person in so delicate a position. |
Quote:
This man seemed suspicious. As far as Medea was concerned, he probably had good reason. Not that she cared, her job was to get the Liaisons, not coddle the Department Heads and their insecurities. ”You can utilize them how you see fit, but yes a deputy of sorts. If you need to get information to the Minsiter’s office, or vice versa they could handle that for you.” Suddenly the conversation seemed to take a bit of a hard right. Was he implying she couldn’t be trusted? Or that Minister wasn’t competent enough to hire trustworthy people? Or was he trying to hide something? ”Mr. Sakura, the updates aren’t for me. The updates are for the Minister.” She put emphasis on the word Minister. ”He is the one who tells me what information is required and collected.” Well, sorta. She had never spoken to the Minster, let alone met him. And more than likely she’d get instruction from Mr. Greingoth, and he’s the person she’d actually turn reports into. But she was sure Mr. Greingoth’s instructions came from Lord Borr. The woman closed the file that was in her lap and folded her hands patiently on top of it. ”I’m not sure what you’re implying sir, but I assure you the reports will be handled with the strictest secrecy. Your Liaison already has knowledge of the goings on of the department, so there should be no concern with that.” Next up her, ”And Mr. Sakura if you are implying that I am not to be trusted I suggest you take that up with the Minster and Undersecretary as they are the ones that appointed me.” Yes, she went there. Medea sat silently for a moment, the tension could be cut with a knife. With that said she had tremendous respect for this man, thoroughly impressed. ”I understand you’ll want to deliberate over the files and employees,” Medea paused for a moment and looked to where the man across from her had just been gazing. ”I will need to know your choice in two weeks time. I’m sure that won’t be an issue.” The dark haired woman didn’t want to be waiting around for him to make a decision. She would take it to a higher level if need be. |
Ren listened to the Medea address his points. She made sense-- as far as her position was concern. Truly if Berty Borr-- or any of the brotherhood-- wanted certain updates from him, they would be hearing it directly from his own mouth, just as its always been. But back to this sort of Ministry matters.... "Whether or not I trust you is not the issue Ms Ward..." the Department Head intoned keeping his eyes steadily at the Minister's emissary "I have been given responsibility to make sure the secrets of this Department and everything else that covers the greater interest of this Ministry remains strictly confidential. That includes Ministry personnel who shouldnt have any business learning of matters that doesnt concern them." And that is even more imperative when it does. "I will inform you of who our Liason will be within that time." he added with a slight nod. "Anything else you wish to discuss with me Ms Ward?" |
She didn’t nod, shift or move as he explained his position. Sure she understood his position and concern, but Minister had implemented these jobs. He wanted them filled, and it was her job to get the filled. She wasn’t there to ask questions. Stone faced she took in what he said and slowly responded, ”An owl or memo response would be fine.” Medea then thought about the man’s suspicious nature, he might like another option better. ”However if you would like me to come down personally and retrieve the name and information I would be more than willing.” With that she stood, ”No sir. That completes this meeting.” The dark haired woman turned and started toward the stairs. |
A sudden flash of pale-violet appears in the office, and upon looking up, one can see that an interdepartmental memo in the form of a folded paper airplane has made its way in. Once caught and unfolded, the memo inside will read: Minister Berty Borr has called a mandatory meeting with the Senior Undersecretary and all Ministry Department Heads. The meeting will commence immediately in Courtroom 10 on the tenth level of the Ministry of Magic. Please be on time and bring with you all ideas and responses to the recent memo regarding the rejuvenating of our spirits and the oxygenating of our halls. |
The memo shaped like a bird with a large beak soared into the office. As it found its appropriate recipient it began to squawk loudly at him. It would continue to do so until he took the note, read it and responded. Quote:

Ren returned from the meeting at Courtroom 10 in very good spirits. If he was wont to laugh, the sound of amusement would've been heard echoing throughout the curved halls of Mysteries. Given that wasnt his nature his joviality was only betrayed by that smallest of rare smirks, which given the success of the Cult's influence throughout the Wizarding world, was becoming more and more a common occurrence gracing his features. As he entered his office another memo was making its presence annoyingly obvious, and in the old days something that annoyed him would usually end up in shreds or burned in a few seconds. But the ever present mind remembers where he was and what his current duties are. With a flick of his wand he nullified the enchantment over the memo, the squawking coming to a dead silence as the parchment unfolded itself quickly and flopped down onto his desk. A passing glance caught the name that sent the letter as his eyes narrowed. Yes he remembered this visitor and her request. Settling himself in his seat he pointed his wand at the cabinet in the far corner of the room, the drawer sliding open silently as folders floated towards his desk. A review of the staff's dossier is in order in seems.... |
Jenna made her way to the office of Mr.Sakura.She was really excited to do this interview. The department of mystiers had always fascinated her. This interview would surely be fun and really interesting.Standing in front of the door the blonde straightend her dress and knocked on the door. After being done with all the other interviews she wasnt that nervous anymore and that was surely a positive aspect.Waiting for the deparmtent head to open the door for her the woman checked her reflectoon in the mirror one last time and nodded to herself. She was ready. |
Ren tosses the files onto his desk and sighs inwardly, glaring at the stacks of paperwork like he would an annoying Muggle sympathizer. These were one of the things he didnt expect when he agreed to take on this assignment. Who knew filing through paperwork would be even more wearying than interrogation? He suddenly stood up, having the need to stretch his legs and get his blood circulating. Merlin he missed the blood pumping action of playing cat and mouse with the authorities. He makes it to the door and sees the woman standing there. Eyes narrows for a split second and thought that whoever this was will have to walk with him. He has come to expect that most will go along his wishes anyway. Truly he doesnt remember anyone still alive who ever went against him. Funny isnt it? "Miss..." he mumbled absently, sparing a momentary glance at the woman before sealing the office doorway shut with a shield charm. "I will be making my rounds, can I help you with anything?" he intoned, sounding anything but helpful. He started to make his way down the steps not really caring if the woman was keeping up or not. |
Kyle was a bit nervous. She needed to get the Mysteries Department Head's permission to post flyers around level to endorse planting of trees. She cleared her throat and knocked gently on the door holding a stack of mixed flyers. She held a smile on her face as she spoke gently, and slightly softly. "Good Morning, Mr. Sakura. I am Kyle Ambrose, Comissioner of the Commission for the 2 R's in the Evironmental Regulation and Protection Department." She nodded gently. |
Hermione again let Kyle introduce herself first, and then decided to do the same.."Good Morning Mr. Sakura. I'm Hermione Malfoy, also a Commissioner in the Environmental Regulation and Protection Department", she finished with a warm smile. |
different timeline from that one *points to prev post* Ren was shuffling through employee profiles in the filing cabinet at the far corner of his office when he heard a knock. He turned his head just as the two visitors introduced themselves and immediately pushed the cabinet shut. Environmental Protection employees, definitely the kind he would make time for instead of usually brushing |
Hermione walked into the office, hopefully with Kyle right behind her.. "Thank you for seeing us Mr Sakura... The purpose of our visit is to ask you for permission to put up some posters around the department, here they are" SPOILER!!: Posters Hermione gave Mr. Sakura a few minutes to look at the posters before she said anything else... And also to give Kyle a chance to pipe in if she had anything to add.. |

Ren took one of the posters, nodding his head as he regarded the green one. Yes he liked this one a lot. He looked into the second poster and thought it was a bit too... lively for his tastes, but then again it might convince more people to to look at the message and inspire them to protect the environment. Or at least litter a little less, a little pet peeve of his. He handed the posters back to the DERP employees and said "I would give anything within my disposal to support your efforts. Feel free to post these anywhere in the department-- hand them out, make a speech, no effort is too much for such a worthy cause." |
Quote:
She listened intently to Mr. Sakura and what he had to say and a smile played on her lips..."Thank you Mr. Sakura for your assistance and co-operation - It is very much appreciated. If even one person takes heed, then that makes a difference - every little bit helps." Hermione finished with a smile. Hermione rose from her seat to shake hands with Mr. Sakura... |
PhoenixAuror just catch up when you can Quote:

"Yes indeed Mr Sakura, although I'd be happy with a few more people being more aware of the environment", she said, shaking his hand.... "Uhm, I like a firm handshake - it says a lot about a person", she thought to herself as she gathered the posters into her arms and turned to leave the office... On their way out the door, Hermione turned around and said "Thanks again Mr. Sakura." |

Department Head Luncheon Invitation Ooooh, Mysteries. How spooky! Ophelia was extra quiet as she made her way through this level, it only seemed appropriate to the atmosphere, after all. She found the Department Head's office easily, and stopped at the door. Ophelia secured the envelope that was marked for 'Ren Sakura' to the door and turned to walk away. But wait! She'd almost forgotten the charm to ensure that the envelope would only be removed by the man it was intended for! Whoops. She cast quickly and then hurried out, on to the next office. SPOILER!!: invitation |

Corin enters the office, icy blue eyes looking suspiciously about. Unlike their disaster of a work area, Sakura’s office was immaculate-- not a thing out of place, other his office chair pushed way off to the side, allowing Corin the full view of the propaganda posters that adorns the back wall. “Hideous.” the word leaves his lips before he could stop himself. Well its not like anybody could hear him-- or at least anybody he should worry about that could take offense over such forthright opinion. He eyes the filing cabinets at the corner of the office, thinking the employee profiles would surely be there. He pulls open a drawer to find it sealed shut. After several spells and a whole lot of tugging he realized that Sakura must’ve really had some ridiculously powerful spell that would resist making the cabinet doors open for anyone else save himself perhaps. So Corin, not wanting to waste anymore time and make his new staff wait any longer, did the next best thing… He cast a slicing spell at the back of the filing cabinet. Quickly he retrieved the contents and stacked them into a file basket that sat in a corner shelf. With a flick of his wrist, he silently levitated the files and as he made for the doorway, took one last look at the cleaved cabinet. That will just have to be replaced-- as is everything else in this room. |
**new department head from here onwards** Natasha headed down the many levels to the Mysteries department to seek out her big sister. It still hadn't sunk in that Izzy was now in charge of her own department. It felt like only yeasterday that she began working as an auror in MLE much to the dissapointment of their mother. Smoothing out a few wrinkles on her pink blouse and blue skirt the blond was ready to face the safety measures/traps which her sister had put into place to protect her office from people who had no buiseness being there. Managing to get past all the hexes, spells and curses in one piece Tasha opened the office door and walked in calling out "Izzy are you here?" |
Isobel had kind of been staring at the door since she had known that her sister was coming to see her. She was considering taking the security enchancements down. She knew Tasha, and she trusted her. So it probably would've been nice to have taken them down. But then it would be nice to see if they worked too. Isobel had told her sister how to get past them, so maybe it would be interesting to see if her sister actually listened to her. She came to the conclusion that she was going to leave the enchancements up, and see how her sister faired against them. Izzy did have to admit it would be funny to see what happened if she messed one up. She'd gone back to some paper work when the door did open. "Ah...you got past them then.." Isobel smiled at her sister, putting her quill down. "Hi Tash." |
Quote:
Slipping into one of the comfy chairs in front of the desk Tasha asked "So how are you sis? Has your new position sunk in yet?" And what did Wesley think of it? |
Wesley knew Izzy wanted him to check out her office after she had decorated it, so here he was, obediently knocking on her door, a great big plotted plant gift in his arms. Her office wards were.... well they were cute, that was about all he had to say about that. |
Isobel laughed at her sister, as she leant back in her chiar more. "I'm sure we could've fixed your hair." Hair wasn't the be all and end all. Not to Isobel. Not that much anyway. She did realise though that maybe she was being a bit paranoid with the wards on her office, but the ones that had been on her desk up in MLE had been just the same. So. They seemed pretty fine to her. How was she? Isobel smiled. "I'm good...." Kind of stressed. But then her wedding was coming up in a month, so that was pretty understandable really. "Kind of?" It was still a bit surreal. One day she'd been head auror, and now she was head of a whole department. "It's different to MLE for sure." Really different. But good different. She was going to enjoy it down here. Oh. There was someone at the door. Interesting. "Seems we have a visitor..." She mused, picking up her wand, and lowering all the wards. "The doors open..." She called out. |
Quote:
Tasha moved to twirl some blond locks around her fingers. She was glad that her lovely hair was still in one piece and not burnt. Izzy looked stressed even though she said she was good which made Tasha offer her help. "If you need my help with the wedding or anything let me know, okay?" Izzy couldn't be stressed out and exhausted on her wedding day, it wouldn't do. Hearing a knock on the door Tasha turned in her chair to see who was coming to visit her sister, maybe a new employee? |
Well Wes could barely see around the bloody plant in his hands to know that the door WAS open. He gave a grunt and nudged it with his foot, to make sure it was open enough, and then moved on in to his fiancée's office. "Hi dear," he muttered, moving past Natasha and depositing the plant thing in the center of her desk. "This is for you. It's a hibiscus. Symbolizes stuff. I thought it could go with your....." Wes finally took a second to glance around the place, "decorations?" They did look nice, Wes had to admit. It was then that he decided to acknowledge Izzy's sister, who got a nod, and Wes moved back from the desk to sit in a chair. Like a proper guest. In the office. Of his fiancée. ...... This was STRANGE. |
*just adding droo in here* "You can never be too sure...." Isobel shrugged, smiling at her sister. She was paranoid, but she wanted to be careful. It was inevitable after having spent of a decade working in law enforcement. "I might tone them down after a while, but they will do for now." And the office had once belonged to a cultist, so Isobel was extra paranoid because of that. The man was thankfully behind bars though, so Isobel was sure that everything was sorted really. Maybe in a few weeks she'd taken some of the wards down. She was leaving a good amount up though, Izzy didn't want anyone trying to break in. Aww. Tash wanted to help with the wedding. "The wedding is pretty much sorted." Izzy mused with a smile. Wes' suggestion of a wedding planner had been very good. "Final dress fittings are next week. Don't forgot." Natasha was the maid of honour, so it was kind of important that she was there. Isobel would have to remember to remind Alysson and Thea too, so that they would all be there, although she had no doubt that Aly had forgotten. Oh. Her visitor was actually he husband to be. Isobel smiled at him, eyeing the plant in his hand. He would get her some plant. "Hi dear." She smiled at him, as she leant forward the look at the plant. "Thank you..." She'd have to rememember to water the plant. She was sure Wes wouldn't be too happy if she killed his gift. It was nice of him to come see her though. She had told him to not be a total stranger down here, even though she was going to be up to level Two plenty of times. "How are you?" She inquired with a smile. And...was their someone singing in the reception area. Oh. Hmm. Interesting. "I think someone is out there..." She mused, glancing towards the door. "Let me just go have a look..." And then she kind of up and left her Fiancé and sister to there selves. |
Gina burst into the room, her plate of cookies levitating before her and onto a nearby table. "Party!" She said and from her wand she conjured streamers and confetti. "I'm not so good at balloons but here goes!" She said and began that spell... The balloon came out, but it wasn't air, or helium it was filled with... ... liquid maybe? Not water though... Looked like punch actually. It burst and splashed Gina covering her in red punch... and she giggled. "Yup, not good at balloons." |
xD, party....Hi Droo! Quote:
Quote:
Natasha was about to give off a sigh of relief about all the wedding preparations being sorted when Iz mentioned final dress fittings. Grimacing she replied. "I remember. Just promise that I won’t get stuck with that neon pink dress which mother was babbling about last week at dinner." That dress was hideous and there was no chance she was wearing it to her sister’s wedding. Quote:
Tasha watched in amazement as the lady started to conjur up confetti, balloons and streamers for a party. Right um, this was weird. Standing up she approached the senior lady. "Pretty balloons. I don't think we've met. I'm Natasha Warrington. Isobel's younger sister." she greeted holding out a hand as was accustom. |
"You're welcome," Wes grunted, waving a big hand at the plant, Izzy, and Tasha. "I wasn't bad at Herbology," he'd been decent at it, actually, "but the plant's just... just a plant." He'd been looking for something small to give Izzy for her office, something other than the engraved calendar, and it just so happened that the woman behind the counter at the flower place was quite a sweet-talker. That was all there was too it. Yep. The plant was not at all a test of whether or not Izzy could take care of a living thing in preparation for the babies she said she wanted to have...not at all.... His thoughts on the plant disappeared rather quickly when Gina Latorta arrived in the office. And Merlin, how did she arrive. Like Natasha, Wes stood up too, to give the woman a place to sit, and to partially get out of the way of her cookies and streamers and confetti and.... balloons. But Merlin, those weren't just air balloons; those were BLOOD filled balloons. Naturally, the head of the MLE would think that any red substance was blood. "Why are we having a party?" he remarked idly, tucking his hands in his pockets and keeping his distance from the blood-covered balloon woman. She didn't smell like blood, necessarily, but she sure was going to be stained red all day. "And hello, Gina, your cookies look lovely." He nodded to her, wondering if she knew who he was. He remembered her from the ah, Cult protests, or whatever it was she thought she was doing there. He didn't know Izzy was apparently on such good terms with her though. |
Isobel blinked a little as she re-entered the room. Gina was putting streamers and confetti everywhere. Now her office just looked a mess. Isobel decided against mentioning this though, as it she didn't exactly want to offend the department head. Luckily the blonde head shut the door, and made her way over to Wes by the time Gina had started blowing a balloon up with her wand. Promptly there was....red stuff all over the woman. "We aren't having a party Wes..." She smiled, touching her Fiancé's back as she made her way back around the desk, to sit back down. Hopefully no more visitors. Her office was already seeming to be full. And there as only four of them in there. "Wes is right..." She smiled, glancing towards the cookies. "They look delicious Gina." Maybe Izzy could learn a few lessons from her on cooking. She wasn't exactly the best at cooking. She tended to leave that to Wesley. He was rather good at cooking. "Oh..." Maybe she could introduce them. "I don't know if you've met.." She motioned between Wesley and Gina. "This is Wesley Ferguson, Department head of MLE" And her amazing husband - to - be. Yup. She was pretty proud of him with his new promotion. Isobel turned to her sister and grinned at her. They couldn't talk about dresses not now. Now when the groom to be was here. "We'll talk about dress colours later..." She mused with a nod in Wesley's direction. She wanted everything to be a surprise for him. "And what department are you transferring too?" It was interesting. |
Alexandria was peeved, to say the least. With how easily the charms malfunctioned in the important Department of Mysteries, when they had an ex-Auror as their head, she wondered just how many more things were going to go wrong in on this level and in the whole Ministry. Malfunctioned charms was clearly just proof of laziness. There was absolutely NOTHING in the world that could vouch for the charms having malfunctioned, unless of course there was someone pointing a wand at them and threatening to avada kedavra them. But as there was no villain, then there was no excuse. And no reason why there should have been TIME TURNERS, some broken at that, in what was supposed to be the Space Chamber. Once outside her department head's door, she raised her hand and knocked twice. Isobel had BETTER be there and she better have a good explanation. |
This was just getting annoying. She would need to set some random charm on her desk or something so that she could actually reach it. She was only 4 months along too, so it was going to get even worse than this. Isobel was not going to complain to her husband though because then he would probably demand that she go home and rest. She did not need to rest. She had never rested in her whole entire life, and just because she was having a baby it did not mean she was going to suddenly start resting. She had a department to run, and he was not going to stop that from happening. Although she did fancy some lunch later with him, so she leant forward, writing a quick memo to him. That was when she heard the door knock. Well. Good tiem for a break? Isobel sighed, leaning back in her chair. She could do with a new chair too. She was hardly fitting into this. Grabbing her wand from the desk, she pointed it at the door, before shouting. "It's open." And awaiting the arrival of the person. |
Rocking nervously on her heels, she wondered what was taking so long. Surely her office couldn't be THAT large that she had to cross half a mile to get to the door, could it? Or perhaps she was at lunch? A glance at her watch, Alex decided that was unlikely considereing it was only half past ten. But a moment later, she heard the door click unlock and a shout of 'it's open'. Turning the handle, she tucked some brown locksr behind her ear before entering and glancing around for a moment, before her eyes came to rest on Isobel. Smiling politely and almost apologetically, she began, "Morning, Isobel. I hope I'm not interrupting anything....?" Before her boss could respond, her gaze fell upon the way she was sittng and she let out a barely audible gasp. She may have been in Australia and missed the birth of her own niece and nephew, but apparently she wasn't going to miss her boss becoming a mother. It felt like just yesterday when she'd attended the wedding too. "Congratulations." |
Ahh. It was Alex. "Good morning." Isobel smiled at one of her space chamber employee's. Before she could even say anything else the woman was congratulating her. Was it that obvious? Isobel just smiled, glancing down at her stomach. She decided it was kind of, and that made her feel worried for what was going to come. Maybe she would invest in that bigger chair. "Thanks..." She mused with a smile, a hand moving to rest on her small bump. She was rather excited, if a little bit nervous at the prospect of being a mother. She still needed to speak to Alexander, the minister, about that. She was sure he was going to love having to send her off on maternity leave not even a year after her promoted her to department head. But back to the business. She figureed Alex had wanted more than to just come congratulate her. "Did you want something?" |
Quote:
But not to dwell on that, as Isobel didn't seem to want to either. "Well, yes, actually. I have an issue. I went to swipe my card into the Space Chamber this morning, but instead, i find myself surrounded by broken and fallen time turners. I thought you used to be an auror," Alex said, crossing her arms, fighting back the urge to roll her eyes. Really; some Auror having 'fixed the room charms' but not really fixed them. |
Oh. The charms were still broken. Isobel sighed, pulling a fresh piece of parchement closer, and writing a quick memo to Althea. But just as she was about to send it to Thea, she heard the end of what Alex was saying to her. Was that supposed to be insulting. Isobel stopped mid writing, and her gaze went from her desk to meet Alex's. It was lucky that she thought with her head before she got her wand out, otherwise Alex might have been on the end of a nasty jinx. Isobel considered that might not have been the best thing to do to her employee's. "I specialised in how to defeat the dark arts. Not silly old charms." Did this woman even know what an auror did. "And as a matter of face I have already liased with the head of the department of accident and catastrophes to deal with any further issues we have." Hence why she was writing her a memo right now. That was all Isobel was going to say about the situation. She was not done with Alex though. "And if you speak to me like that you may not have a job." Isobel just gave her a look. "I am your boss remember." |
Okay, so perhaps she HAD overreacted slightly. Really, she hadn't meant to offend. Be demanding, yes maybe, but offend, never. She was never the offensive type. Just overreactive and defensive and protective. Uncrossing her arms, she laced her fingers together in front of her instead. "Right. I'm ... I didn't mean to react so strongly, but I was just ... befuddled about why the charms still weren't working." She would have attempted fixing them herself, but she was pretty sure she wasn't authorized to be messing around with the charms and barricades for the doors. "Is there something else I could help with maybe? While I await to check out the floating solar system and all." Otherwise she should just call it a day or whatnot, but she didn't want to just leave without permission. That would probably add another strike onto herself from her boss and she really enjoyed working here, so she'd rather not upset her boss to the point where she'd have to be fired. |
Demetrius walked to his bosses office to asked her about the mysterious deaths that were happening at St. Mungos before he went over there to ask. He was not really a people person. So he wanted to know the facts before he got there and started interrogating them inferior healers. He knocked on the door and waited. He was really pale and had huge bags under his eyes. He has not been out of the Death Chamber in a couple days due to all the work he had to do. He was ready to take a small vacation but he needed Isobel's approval. That was the second thing on his agenda. He wanted to go back to Greece, get on his yacht, gather some "friends" and have an awesome week. He kept looking at his new animated basilisk tattoo that covers his arm. It really did turn out pretty well. He looked at it one more time and then turned his mind to the stone archway and what he wanted Isobel to do about it. Hmm.. Demetrius thought it had to do with some crack he fixed and if it was a good enough fix. But he was smart enough to fix that. Oh Demetrius can't remember right now. He leaned against the wall and tapped his foot waiting. |
Quote:
Oh. Alex wanted something to do. "Could you...." She mused, thinking for a few moments, before nodding. "Check if any of the other charms aren't working." She then realised that Alex might not be able to actually get into any of the rooms. "Pass your badge..." She motioned for the badge, and when Alex handed it over, she tapped it, allowing her entrance to the other rooms. "I'll owl Thea, and see if she can send anybody down." Quote:

Quote:
Hello, Alex" Demetrius said with a nod. It looked like Alex was just about to leave and Demetrius wanted to do the same. But he procrastinated on this assignment. So he had to do it. It only took one look at Isobel to see that she was pregnant. "Congratulations, Isobel." But She probably did not want to announce it yet. Whatever, now that congratulations were done. It was time to move on to business. Even though all Demetrius wanted to do was go home and hop he did not drool all over his bed. "I wanted to talk to you about the mysterious deaths at the ministry before i go over there to take care of it." He really did not want to go to St. Mungos. Because he and Healers do not really get along. He liked death and Healers try and stop or slow down death. Which did not make sense to Demetrius. Since you were probably going to die anyway. |
Quote:
"Yes, I can check. Thank you," Alex said, handing over her badge and watching as Isobel tapped it. Quote:
Mysterious deaths? Well then, she was intrigued, to say the least, and simply stood motionless, waiting, rather than excusing herself from the office. It wasn't as if he requested privacy. |
"Awesome." Isobel nodded with a smile. That would be a huge help to her. Then she could tell Thea exactly what was still going on. "Just sent a memo with any details instead of coming back over. Save your legs..." She laughed. Izzy was certainly in no position to be walking all over the department. It was kind of annoying really. The sooner this baby was the born the better. Although she probably would be even more stressed at least she would be actual able to walk around. It would be much better. And if the baby slept lots and didn't cry. That would be pretty awesome too. Isobel frowned, wiping a finger underneath her mouth. She was drooling? Eww. Interesting. She grabbed a tissue, and wiped her finger, before turning her attention back to the people in the office. "Aah..." Isobel nodded, smiling at Demetrius. "Would you like to take a seat?" She motioned at the seats on the other side of her desk. Hmm. Alex was still here? "Was there anything else Alex?" |
Quote:
"Sure" He took a seat, crossed his legs, wiped some more drool off his mouth, and waited for Isobel to continue. He did not care if Alex was in the room. She might even be able to help. Who knows. He was sure she could not hurt his investigation. |
After receiving Isobel's letter, Ella had put the baby kneazle back into its cage before heading down to level nine. She had never been down there before and quite frankly... it scared her a bit when she got down there. It was dark and mysterious (no pun intended). She had to read over the letter a couple times to get the instructions right because she was a little distracted, but she eventually found her way inside the department. Tucking the letter back into her purse, Ella found Isobel's office, knocked on the door a few times and patiently waited to be let in. |

Send a memo; she nodded. She could do that. As she was standing by the doorway though, she heard her boss talking to Demetrius and she shot a casual glance back at Isobel, in time to see her wipe her mouth. Did pregnancy cause overreactive saliva glands? She didn't know, but made a note to owl Leanne about that. "No, no," she said, hearing a knock on the door. She'd gotten her business done with the department head just in time before it got busier, it seemed. She spared another glance at Demetrius and was about to leave - again - as he wiped his mouth, again. Perhaps the overreactive saliva glands wasn't from the pregnancy hormones. "Unless, well, actually, can i get a sample?" She asked quietly, reaching into her bag for some extra test tubes. What?! It wasn't that ODD for science nerds to be carrying around extra supplies with them at all times, was it? |
Quote:
Demetrius raised an eyebrow at Alex's question.Did Alex really think that they were her test subjects. Not that Demetrius had any problem with that. Maybe Isobel did. "Are You feeling sick too Alex and what type of sample do you want ?" Maybe she could solve what was making him and Isobel drool so much. It looked like she had an interest in science. Making himself more relaxed. He took a good long look at Alex to check and see if she started drooling. |
Two Time lines XD Hmm. Demetrius was drooling. "Do you need a tissue?" Isobel asked, nodding her head towards a box that was placed on her desk. She would've reached over and gotten one for her employee. But it was a little of a struggle right, and really she was feeling rather comfortable. Izzy had some epic back pain most of the time, so it was nice to actually be comfortable for once. Wesley would be happy, even though by the time they got home her back would probably be killing. He'd probably push her to go on maternity leave even sooner. Oh. Alex wanted a sample. "Hmm..." She wanted a sample of what? Oh. The drool. Well. Isobel wasn't actually drooling anymore. That had kind of gone away now. So nothing for Alex to collect. The woman shrugged, and looked back down to the memo that she was reading, staring at it a little, before finally picking up her quill, and scribbling on the parchment. Quote:
"The doors open." She said after a few minutes, when she was finally comfortable. |

A purple paper airplane, complete with the emblem of the Ministry of Magic stamped along its sides, makes its ways through the lifts and corridors of the Ministry of Magic. Reaching its destination, the interdepartmental memo comes to rest in front of its intended recipient. When unfolded, it reads: Quote:
|
First day back at ministry:: Tasha took the lift down to level 9 to see if her sister was free for some afternoon tea and cupcakes. It was a bit of a hassle to not loose the grip on her tray of cupcakes as she stepped out onto level 9. Passing the receptionist she gave the woman a nod in greeting before she walked over to Izzy's office. Knocking on the door without dropping the tray proved to be a small feat but she managed it. Knock, knock! Taking a step back Tasha waited for her sister to come to the door. |
Isobel hadn't really been doing much on the first day back in the office. Other that sorting through a few pieces of paper, figuring what needed to be done. She knew her sister would be popping down at some point, and although she wasn't too sure when she'd be coming down. It was part of the reason why she wasn't making herself too busy. It would be good to catch up with her sister, and she needed to ask her about the whole Dorian thing. It was very interesting. Picking up her coffee, she took a sip just as the door knocked. Ahh. That must have been her sister now. Tucking the papers into a draw of her desk, she stood up, heading towards the door. Pulling it open she smiled at her sister. "Good morning Tasha." |
Quote:
"Shall we go in and drink some tea together with them?" Tasha wondered. Hopefully the cupcakes were edible. Izzy was the expert baker not her. |
Quote:
"Mmm. Sounds very good." She nodded, wandering back over to behind her desk. Picking up her wand, she conjured some tea. "Having a good day then Tash?" |
Quote:
Plopping herself down in one of the chairs in front of her sister's desk she took a cupcake which she. "Yes, a very good day. It’s actually fun and interesting to research spells." As weird as it may sound considering that Tasha had never before had any big interest in researching spells. "How has your day been Iz?" |
Having received a note from their department head to meet in her office, Evelyn exited the ever-locked room and paused to rub her eyes. Despite having worked here for awhile, the different lighting of the rooms still caused a slight problem. Thankfully not as much as before. It was easily ignored. Smoothing out her blouse as she made her way to Isobel's office, Evelyn did a quick swish of her hair to look presentable before knocking softly on the door. |
Isobel was hoping that Evelyn would come by her office soon. She was wanting to pop over to her sister's and make sure that her boys were okay. But she wanted to sort this with Evelyn first. She would only forget if she didn't sort it. Just as she was thinking about it, she heard a knock on her door. Hopefully that would be Evelyn. Placing her quill down, she put the piece of parchment she'd been writing on into the draw. She'd finish that letter later. "Come in" She called out a few seconds later. |
Hearing the go ahead to walk in, the young woman opened the door and peaked her head in first before the rest of her slowly followed. "You wanted to see me, Mrs. Ferguson?" she asked, one hand still on the doorknob with the door half closing, just in case this wasn't a particular good time to be here. Seemed alright from the looks of it though. |
Isobel smiled as it was Evelyn that had come up into the room. She was glad that it was Evelyn, because she really didn't know what she would have done if it hadn't been her. She wasn't really expecting anyone else today. So it was a very good thing that it was Evelyn. "Hello Evelyn...call me Isobel." Because it was still odd when people called her Mrs Ferguson. Sure she loved being Mrs Ferguson. But it was way too formal. So yes. Everyone could call her Isobel. "Take a seat...." She murmured, motioning to the seats in front of her desk. |
Isobel. Evelyn slowly nodded, casting her gaze downwards as she fully closed the door behind her. That wasn't going to be awkward to say at all, now was it? Not after being used to 'Mrs. Ferguson' for awhile now. Taking a seat in front of her boss's desk, she crossed one leg over the other and waited quietly for Isobel to start. Ahem. Fidget. |
Isobel smiled as Evelyn sat down. Ahh now where was that job description she had written out. "You've been working for the ministry for...." She paused, as she opened Evelyn's file that she'd put onto her desk. "Four years correct?" Because if not her file was incorrect, and that just would not do. She flicked the page over, before looking up at Evelyn. The girl was clearly long due a promotion. "Now...." She paused, popping her quill back onto the desk. "I feel....you are long due a promotion." She smiled at her. Surely that would make the girl happy. "Which is why I asked you to pop in." |
That was too general of a way to start out. Evelyn resisted fidgeting in her seat even more, and instead clasped her hands upon her knee while nodding her head. "Yes, ma'am." She'd been leaning towards this possibly being a good visit, but now, she was trying to think of things she'd done wro- ... woah. Boss said what? Eyebrows started to raise, quite aware of the growing silence after Isobel spoke and lack of verbal gratitude on her part. Ahem, of course! "I...thank you. For feeling like so." The young woman smiled lightly. There wasn't some double meaning behind that, right? |
Good Good. She hadn't been mistaken. She closed Evelyn's file for a moment, writing the number 4 on the top. Hopefully that would remind her next time she looked. She also wrote the year down, because she probably would forget away. She smiled, looking back up at the young women. Evelyn had been working in the department longer than she had. That kind of amused her. But she wasn't going to discuss that today. Oh no. There were much more important things on her mind. Evelyn was the first person she'd promoted. So it was quite amusing her response actually. "You work very hard...." She murmured, nodding. "I drafted you up a job description..." She murmured, handing it over. "You'll basically be doing what you are now, just you'll be more in charge.... supervisor of the ever locked room you may say." Something like that. |
Leaning forward to take the description, she only read the first three words before she looked back up to Isobel. The "in charge" part was what caught her attention. Why yes, she did think Supervisor Evelyn Flores had a nice ring to it. Her smile grew just a tad and only momentarily as she turned her gaze back down to the description, reading it over quickly. Of course, it matched everything Isobel had basically said about it, but she still read it. "It sounds great. Thank you for the opportunity." With things going on behind the scenes, she really could use the uplifting effect on her mood that this brought. |
A big beam came across Isobel's face as she saw that Evelyn seemed pretty happy about the promotion. That made her happy. She wanted her employees to be happy. Actually...she just wanted them turn up to work. But that was another story all together. Izzy was just hoping that after the christmas break people would start turning up more. It was kind of de-motivating to have no one turn up for work. She was about to stay that Evelyn was free to go, when she remembered something. "So...anything coming off the potions?" Because she wasn't really up to date with what was happening in the room right now. |
Half wondering whether she should be keeping this description or if she was to give it back to Isobel, her eyebrows raised somewhat at the question asked. Quite a few things were going on at the moment. "Actually..." she started to say, fiddling with the parchment. "Our studies on the new amortentia have gone as far as they can go without a trial group. Especially with the...effects after consumption." None of them wanted to do it. |
A particularly devilish Interdepartmental Memo flew down the hall and slid between the crack in the door and the floor and onto the desk of the Head of the Department of Mysteries. The memo read as follows: This memo is in response to a notice on the Level 5 (and presumably other levels as well) bulletin board concerning the Amortentia testing. I, Harland Flynn, wish to gain more information on said testing and request correspondence in regards to it. All the best, Harland Flynn Internation Magical Cooperation Social and Economic Council Magical Trade Personnel |
A tiny paper origami crane flutters into the office, slipping under the door and landing softly on the desk. It delicately unfolds in the middle of the Department Head's desk to reveal the following memo: Quote:
|
As semi-discussed via PM ;) (random details just to establish a different timeline) He hadn’t gotten the answer he’d silently been asking for, but Dorian wasn’t about to waver in his decision. He’d questioned the earlier idea as soon as he’d seen Natasha in the meeting, and after they’d spoken over lunch, the final decision had been made. Whether or not Isobel would see it as another affront after the debacle at the orientation, of if his earlier volunteering would have even fixed that in the first place, wasn’t important. There were certain things that were more important to him than his job, more accurately people, and he’d been reminded of that. Either way, this meeting was going to have to happen, as he wasn’t going to just decline to show up at the testing. He wanted to explain himself, and officially state his reasoning even though he’d sent her a written message almost as soon as his discussion with her sister had concluded. He had already lost one person close to him due to things he couldn’t control. He wasn’t about to risk losing another to something he could, and therefore, he had to speak to her sister. Wes had been up on Level Two, and therefore he figured it was likely that Isobel was in her office as well. That would be better than dealing with this in public, and after nodding politely at the receptionist, he’d made his way toward her office with purposeful stride. His decision wasn’t going to change if he had to wait, and he knocked on the door gently just to hopefully announce his presence. Worst case scenario was that he’d have to come back later, as he knew her employees took precedence over himself. Either way, he was going to be responsible. |
Sorry this is so late <3 Isobel mused, writing a few memos. It was kind of annoying that the floos weren't really working at the moment. It meant she actually had to properly walk to places, and she really wasn't too into that. It was kind of annoying when her husband worked right up on level 2 and she was on level 9. It was rather far apart. She had stuff to do now though, so it wasn't that too much of a bother. Hearing a knock on the door, she looked up. She really wasn't expecting anybody. Interesting. Hmm. "Come in." May as well see who it is. |
Hi loves <3 Travelling all the way from Level 4 and being engaged on the OCD behavior that was Department Head Carter, Eliza hurried up to Level 9 where the Department of Mysteries offices could be found. She bumped into an acquaintance from this Department and found out that the Head on this level actually had a fireplace inside her office. Perfect. Eliza's heels made sounds whilst she strutted towards the door. Knock, knock, knock. And yes, once again...she didn't wait for anyone to answer the door and opened it herself. This was an emergency, remember? "Hello, maa'm. I apologize for the intrusion." Hmm. This one seemed to emit more an aura same of The Schultz. "Eliza Tohsaka....from Magical Transportation." Did she have to show her badge to the woman too? "I am not sure if Miss Schultz has already visited you here. But you must be aware that we have problems with the Floo Network?" There was a fireplace indeed. WIN. "Do you mind if I use your fireplace just to test out something? This is a bit urgent." |
Quote:
That would have been what he wasn’t entirely prepared for, but he still smoothly opened the door and stepped inside. “I apologize if I’m disturbing your work, Isobel,” he said after a slight nod in greeting. He didn’t think he needed to act too much out of character, and she’d seen him on Level Two and elsewhere enough to know what he was like. “I imagine you received my message regarding my involvement in the testing,” he continued, waiting for her to choose to offer him a seat or otherwise. Quote:
|
Nobody in her office and then two people come along at once. Very interesting. And both people were not from her department. Very interesting indeed. Isobel smiled, nodding as Eliza came into her office. She worked in transportation right? Well. It seemed she really didn't want to wait, and so Dorian would have to apparently. "If you don't mind waiting Dorian...." She murmured, smiling apologetically at him. She was sure he didn't mind waiting. They did have quite a few things to discuss after all. and now back to Eliza. Ahh. This was about her floo? "Yes....they are rather annoying." She liked her floo a lot, and it wasn't very useful at the moment. "Feel free...." Because she really wanted the network to be working again soon. |
