Stepping away from the table where he'd just put the second bowl onto the he looked up as Dimitri entered. "Hey there!" Laughing he shook his head "Just Gavin." he didn't want to go there, not with the mister thing happening again. It drove him nuts, he didn't like the formality of using mister or miss/missus, unless the person preferred it. WOW it had taken him a long time to get used to that with Gina!

Hmm, he could use a bit of help, "I'm actually needing a task to be done!" He'd decided to have the meeting in the conference room, so they needed some food stuffs. "If you could try and nab someone to help you, go down to the food court and get two trays one with lunch, a little of everything I think and the same with a drinks tray." That would do it, right? He had a dessert idea already in the break room so just lunch and drinks would be perfect.

OOC: feel free to poke someone to give you a hand there maybe in a vm? You don't have to go down to the food court unless you wish to. Feel free to though!

Dimitri just chuckled when he knew that Gavin, his new boss felt not so comfortable if he called him by Mister. "Well, I'm sorry, Gavin." Dima called his boss by only with his first name. Then he put a box of cookies at his desk. "Well, actually I come here to give you this and say.. Congratulations for your promotion." said him cheerful.

Oh, he wanted him to go down to the foodcourt and get some food? Yum! Did it mean that they would have party meeting at the conference room? The skinny guy could do it by himself. "Allright, captain!" He grinned. "Well.. Is there any spesific menu that you want or not you want? Or you just want me to get everything from the foodcourt?" Dima preferred the second idea because.. Well he thought that all of the things from the foodcourt was so much yummy! And now his stomach started to growl because he was completely hungry, even when he just thought about food.

"It's fine." he said grinning. He knew it was teasing as well, watching as he placed the box on his desk, his eyes lit up. "Thank you!" WOW, he could handle gifts! He hadn't expected to receive anything, thought actually some of the employees would be quite irritated that he'd gotten the promotion, thinking he'd sucked up to Gina and weasled his way into the position. She'd not even mentioned it! Let alone him doing that, he'd had no inclination of taking a position like this. But there were people there that had been there longer then him.

"I think a little of everything will be perfectly fine, a nice selection for everyone to pick from." That was quite a load, so he hoped that Dimitri got some help, unless he wanted to make two trips. But it was up to him, either way the food would get to the conference room "They have quite a selection there, I found when I did 3 trays for other levels a few days ago."

Sitting at his desk he had sent a note for Dimitri, to meet him in his office. Gavin was just sitting there lost in thought, there'd been a lot of changes he'd been making in the department, and it had been keeping him busy. But he also had decided some of the employees that had been doing over and beyond what was expected were to finally get some promotions. Hoping that he was making the right decision on some of them, he really needed an undercover buyer now that Kat had agreed to be an ambassador, which they really had needed for the Magical countries, especially down in Atlantis.

But now they had lost both undercover buyers...

After the boss had allowed him, Dimitri walked entering the office with mixed feelings. Mixed? Because he was so excited to know that he deserved a promotion to be an Undercover Buyer. But he was also nervous and confused since he didn't know much about his new position. And he still couldn't believe it. Really? The new Undercover Buyer was Dimitri Burton, the 21-year-old guy who just worked for a year in International Cooperation?

He saw Gavin was sitting there and honestly Dimitri didn't know what to say. Really. He was still.. speechless. Suddenly he almost forgot about what was the reason he was visiting the boss here. Damn! "Did you call me, Gavin?" asked him. It's quite hard to call the boss by only his first name actually, and the skinny guy just felt unusual about that.

Looking up as Dimitri entered the office "Hey there, want to have a seat?" he asked gesturing to one of the chairs infront of his desk. "Want any tea or coffee?" he'd decided he should make sure to have both brewing in his office. He preferred coffee usually but you never knew what others might like to drink!

"I wanted to call you in to discuss your new position." he began, with a small smile. He'd remembered his reaction in the meeting, and knew the promotion had come as a complete surprise. "How are you feeling about changing to this position. I want to make sure you're comfortable with the change."

Realizing that he was standing in front of his boss, Dimitri then took a seat as Gavin offered it. "Thanks, Gavin! I think a cup of coffee is better." said him as the boss offered him to drink something. He was more a coffee person and he always chose coffee more than tea. But it didn't mean that he didn't like tea. Having a Russian mother made him drinking tea more at home.

Discussing his new position? Alright, that's why he was here. They would talk about his new position, Undercover Buyer. Seriously, it was such a big surprise of him. How could? He was new in level 5, The skinny guy just wondered.. but he was totally glad! It did mean that leaving his backpacker life and started working at Ministry was a right choice. "Okay." He cleared his throat. "Well, honestly that was so unexpected. But I feel so honoured to get this position." he spoke diplomatically. But the problem is..

"Actually, what's my job description?" asked him. Because it sounded unfamiliar to him.

"Coffee it is then." he smiled nodding. Rising to his feet he brought his own cup with him, to pour himself some more as well. "Do you take anything with hit or just black?" Pouring the two cups he brought his over waiting to know if there was anything he wanted to put in it.

Setting his own cup on his desk after taking a drink he smiled to himself "I'm sure it was unexpected." he replied nodding. "Some of the changes I felt necessary, others I thought were well deserved. Sometimes I find that people are sorted a little early, I think if we saw how they worked there might be a better fit then what people are originally placed into." Leaning against the desk, he remained standing at least for now.

"Oh certainly!" Reaching over to his desk, he pulled a piece of paper off of it and handed it to Dimitri.
"I have a number of contacts that are more then willing to help us in the black market. Pierre Savaron was the one we work with directly in the French Ministry." Pierre was a close friend of his, and Gavin worked with him often, and he was already aware that there was to be a new British undercover buyer taking his place.

"maybe with small amount of sugar and much cream is better." said him. Dimitri just waited for the coffee. He didn't know how much coffee that he had drink for today. But thankfully he didn't have any gastric problem that made him should resist his caffeine addiction. Just maybe he would suffer insomnia again for tonight.

Then he took his glasses and wore it. His myopia problem made him couldn't read well without his glasses or contact lenses. The skinny guy read the piece of paper that his boss handed to him. That's the job description of his new position right now. Well, this job sounded very interesting.. and a bit risky. But he loved risky and challenging things. "Well..." suddenly he spoke. "What do you mean by 'do not engaged'? asked him innocent.

*flails* I don't think that's important, Dima!

Moving back to the coffee, he grabbed a few sugar and even more creamer packets and brought them over for Dimitri before returning to his seat behind the desk. Taking a sip of his own coffee which he always had preferred black and nice and strong, he nodded as he read through the job description.

"Engage there means don't try and take on any of those guys. If you ever feel that there's a danger call in reinforcements." He'd worked with Bole on the case last year but now he'd gone on, and for the life of Merlin he could not remember the new level 2 department head's name! "Your safety is going to be our main concern, so if anything happens where you feel it's unsafe or there's a danger, we want you out of there, notify the local law enforcement. NOT muggle, but the ministry law enforcement."

Oh Merlin, that was one thing he hoped Dimitri would remember, never go muggle unless absolutely necessary. If that had happened in France last year the muggle policemen would have been laughing their heads off about a few tires being sold to the wrong people!

Finally.. COFFEE!!

"Thanks, Gavin." said him as the boss handed him some sugar and cream. He added a few sugar and some cream to his coffee. Hmm.. The smell was so lovely. Dimitri took a sip of his coffee. Wow! It tasted so good. Then he sipped more and kept listening to Gavin about his job description.

*Blink*

As he explained more about Undercover Buyer position, The skinny guy just blinked and he whispered "I don't think that this position suits me." Suddenly he felt not so confident. Why Gavin chose him to fill this position? Why not the others, perhaps someone who worked for this department more than him? The one who had so much experience? Somehow he doubted if he could do better than the previous undercover buyer. WAIT.. Gavin and Katrina were in this position right? Gosh..

Well.. he HAD chosen him. Now, all he had to do is doing his best.

Exhales

He listened more to Gavin about his job. Now, he looked a bit serious. Yeah, because he realized that this job wasn't easy. Especially for a newbie like him. "I understand." he nodded. This should be interesting.. But it's not easy, Dima! Remember that. He spoke to himself.

Smiling at the guys thanks, he nodded taking a bit bigger drink. He had always tended to drink the coffee straight up even when it was hot, but had gotten used to it so it was to the point it never bothered him now. He still hadn't solved the issue of not having treats and stuff like Gina had done, but he and Kat were rarely ever home now to even make things like that! And really store bought just didn't feel the same.

He heard the guys whisper, and Gavin folded his hands infront of him. Waiting, Gavin didn't want to push the younger man. He knew Dimitri could handle it he'd seen the guy at work, and had no doubt that he could handle it. But he also knew that if the job wasn't handled with delicate care, that disasterous things could happen, and knew that's probably what was scaring him.

"I'm not going to force you to take the position, I know that it might sound a bit intimidating especially at first. That part is just a small part of the position. And will rarely happen or ever come to that point. In the five years I was in the position, it only happened once that I had to call in the French ministry last spring." There hopefully he'd see it was a rare time that he'd ever encounter that!

"Most of your work will be done with ordering, making purchases. Particularly for the ministry. Just because it's on the black market doesn't mean that it's a bad thing that you're ordering." Taking another drink he set the cup back down, and sat back in his chair. "Often it'll be that you're just getting an item that we're trying to track down and unable to find out there easily."

He sipped his coffee more while Gavin talked more about the Undercover Buyer. Heh? "Well.. I don't think that I felt you pushed me." suddenly he spoke. "I'm so honoured that you'd chosen me to fill this position. I'm just feeling.. not too much confident." he spoke truthfully. Maybe his knowledge about this position was zero right now. but Dimitri was a person who eager to learn something new. He was such a dumb if he refused to take this position, because it was rare if a person who just worked for a year deserved a promotion. There will be no second chance, Dude! His mind whispered to himself. So, the skinny guy decided to take it. Yeah, because his boss had put the trust on him.

New position. New responsibility! Go, Dima! I know you can do it! and you can gain more money now.

"Okay." he said. The 21-year-old-guy need more time to learn about this position. "Well, I need to learn more about this. Especially some case that we'd done before."

Nodding as Dimitri spoke, "Good, I don't want that. If you prefer your old position I completely understand." He wasn't going to force the man to take a position he didn't feel that he was prepared to take. Smiling at his confession "Believe me I understand. I won't be just handing you the position and leaving you to do it on your own. We'll make you get fully trained in." Absolutely! He felt he'd sort of been, but that was he, and it just made him sure that he'd never do that to anyone else! Drinking more of his coffee he nodded again as he spoke.

"Absolutely, I'll tell you anything you want to know. As will Kat I'm sure, she had been an undercover buyer for 3 years now." The two of them had worked closely side by side. It's how they'd gotten to know each other and ended up falling in love! "We just finished a case about ordering the supplies and finding decent places for the food we have been ordering for the food court." he commented pondering some of the recent cases "So as you see sometimes it'll be just pathetic boring stuff that you wonder why it is your the one doing it. But then other times, you get a tip off about some bad sales that you're asked to come help with, to uncover people."

"I don't want the money to make your final decision here, but it will be an extra 2 galleons an hour" which was pretty good considering, most raises were only sickles or even a galleon at the most. But for the type of position, it bumped it to 2 galleons.

Good to hear that his boss would help him more about this position. That's what he need now. Of course, Gavin had chosen him to fill this position and he had known that he just joined this department for a year. (Actually the main reason why he decided to work in Ministry at the time because he needed more money to start travelling again. Hehehe.) Sipping his coffee, Dimitri listened more to the boss.

Wait.. Did he just say that there would be extra 2 galleons an hour?

That sounded.. promising.

The skinny guy was enthusiast about this job, not only because of his salary would be increase but it also sounded so promising and interesting. "Okay." he spoke. But it was quite hard if he worked alone since most of his job were not easy and sometimes they would be dangerous and risky. Hopefully Gavin would hire another one to be an Undercover Buyer along with him. "So now.. from where I should start?" Because he was EAGER about it.

Gavin wanted to take this slow not make Dimitri get too overwhelmed. Especially when at least for now he'd be alone in the position. That wasn't too bad honestly he'd done that for 2 years before Kat had been hired. Sometimes it had gotten strenuous where he felt he had too much to do and just couldn't keep up, but most of the time it had been alright. You just really needed to pay lots of attention to your time that you were putting aside for stuff, and have a little leeway.

Ok, well he was happy to see that Dimitri wasn't super excited about the pay. Well not on the outside anyway. It made him smile just a bit, because then he wasn't thinking more on the pay rather then the assigned job.

"Ok, the first thing you should do, is get familiar with the paperwork. There's different ordering styles, and you should pick the best that works for you." Rising from his seat he went over to one of the shelves and plucked a book off it, one of his old ordering books that he'd written a lot of notes in the sidelines of the pages. Passing him the book he sat back down "If you take my old office, I left plenty of books in there, and current ordering catalogs. You'll also find some numbers of people you can reach, both in the black market and not."

Sitting back again he folded his hands infront of him, resting his elbows on the chair "You don't have to switch cubicles if you don't wish to, you could always take what you think you need from my old one as well, I just thought I'd leave most of the current information there, for the new undercover buyer or buyers that take Kat and my positions."

Sipping back his coffee, Dimitri watched his boss took something from the shelves.

WHAT'S IN MERLIN'S SOCKS WAS THAT?

Heck yeah, those were the paperworks, Dima! Please don't act so silly! The skinny guy just a bit shock to see them. Fixing the position of his glasses, he noticed at the book and read it for a while. Dang! So many things to learn about this. He thought that it would be a long time for him to learn it and also all about the Undercover Buyer position. Ganbatte, Dima san! I know you can do it. He whispered to himself. Suddenly he remembered what his mother said when she knew her eldest son got this job.

"A Burton man always stick with his commitment."

And yes! He's a Burton. So he should stick with this commitment, and also the boss had trusted him to fill this position, so Dimitri should work hard in order to make all people around him feel so proud of. Then he continued reading the book. It seemed interesting. Gavin then offered him to take his old cubicle. Could he? "I think it will be better if I take your old cubicle, because most things about the job are there." he said.

"Just remember if there's anything you need or any questions you have, come find me. Kat will be around as well, more then willing I'm sure to give you a hand as well." Whoever he found first he was sure Dimitri would ask. Or the more pressing issues he'd find Gavin. Whichever was fine by him.

"That would be just fine." he responded nodding. "It'd probably be the easiest for you. I hope to find you a co-undercover buyer for you soon. As well as to fill your old position. It appears that quite a few people are leaving the position." Hmmm, made him wonder why, and what could be causing that! He might have to look into the immigration position...

Ugh, what's this?

Dimitri tried to listen to Gavin carefully, but suddenly he looked unfocused and glazed. Then he took some sip of his coffee, perhaps it could make him feel better. "Well, okay." said him nodding to his boss. The skinny guy finished drinking his coffee and he decided to leave this office. He need to pack his stuff and move to his new cubicle, the one that used to be Gavin's one. But why suddenly he felt.. not okay with his condition?

He took his handkerchief and wiped his mouth. Why suddenly he was uncontrollable drooling? Ugh. Now the 21-year-old guy felt dizzy... and nauseous. Was he suffering food poisoning or something? Dimitri never felt like this before, he didn't feel sick. He was okay before.

"Yep feel free to move your things over in your own time. No hurry there." Nodding Gavin took another drink of his coffee, when he looked up at Dimitri again. His eyebrow lifting, Gavin eyed him. "You feeling alright?" he asked curiously. It appeared as if his eyes had just glazed over.

"Dimitri?" Gavin was growing concerned by the moment as the man looked more and more sick. "Maybe you need to take the remainder of the day off. You don't look all that well."

Harland walked over to the couple of plush little chairs outside Gavin's office. It felt very juvenile to sit outside the office and wait like he was back at school and waiting outside a teacher's office to be reprimanded...not that ever happened to him of course. But nonetheless this was about his job and possibly switching it, so it was more important than a late homework assignment, or talking in class, or a loose dragon spider in the Great Hall during breakfast--- whoops where did that last one come from?

He'd seen someone walk past the door to the office, and headed for the open door to peer out. Spotting Harland on one of the chairs Gavin smiled "Hey Harland come on in."

Did he feel okay?

He didn't think so. Suddenly this symptomps attacked him. Dimitri was okay before, but why suddenly he look like... he was suffered of food poisoning. Was he? "I'm sorry, Gavin. But I think..."

Ugh..

Well, he couldn't resist it. "Excuse me." Suddenly he ran out from his office. He quickly ran to the bathroom and vomited. Damn, what's wrong with me? He thought.

Yep he definitely needed to go home. He was looking greener by the moment. Watching as Dimitri went running out of the room, Gavin sighed shaking his head. He just hoped that it wasn't contagious! Ugh, that's all they'd need people to be getting sick on their level and all going home for a few days.

Jack walked into Gavin's office. "Hello, Gavin. I got your memo, what can i do to help? Or shall we wait for the others to talk?"

Looking up as Jack walked in he smiled at the man, from where he was at the bookshelf. "Feel free to have a seat," he said gesturing to the seating area around the small table on the other end of the room from his desk. It was more cozy there, and they could chat about the upcoming plans and stuff for the department. "I think we'll just wait til the others arrive. We're all set here, thank you for offering though."
