This was one of the many reasons she loved her boss. She always had some type of sweets! Katrina smiled and gently took a cookie off the plate. "Thank you, Gina." She nodded her head at Gavin, signaling the there would be a full report and she would not leave him to do it all by himself. No matter how much she disliked paperwork, it came with the job.

Breathing a sigh of relief, that there was no other questions, just the need for the report, he nodded with a smile. Reaching for a cookie, "Thank you." he said sincerely before turning towards Angela and Katrina to exit the office.

Angela smiled and nodded. Yeah, now she was a bit more relaxed than she was before this brief interaction. Gina certainly seemed like a good, no, great boss.

Cookies? That was nice. Seeing Gavin and Katrina reach for cookies, she too went forward and gently took one for herself.

"Thanks Gina.." Saying that, she followed the engaged pair out of the office, back to their work stations.

Gina's voice echoed in the hallways on level five.

"Attention All International Magical Cooperation employees. Come to the Conference Room and welcome the new employees and enjoy cookies!"

Esteban cringed at the thought of what he had to do now. He didn't want to, nor did he want to have too stare Gina in the face of what was happening to him. He sighed and knocked on her door waiting for answer.

His palms were sweaty, and his heart was racing, not good, he would probably faint before he even got in there. And more than likely his Spanish would pop out of him, that was no good. That hadn't happened since he said his vows to Jenny years ago. Well maybe when his daughter was born.

"Come in dear," No, Gina didn't know who it was at the door, she just called everyone dear.

Esteban took one last deep breath and stepped into the office of his Department Head. He smiled at Gina, he had always liked her, she was such a kind woman he felt horrible about what he was doing, but there was no other choice.

He was nervous, he was shaking actually, oh boy. "Hola Senorita." Oh boy, he knew that his Spanish was going to come out, he just knew it. "Sorry, it just slipped out." He said smiling hoping that this was going to go okay. "I need to talk to you." He said, realizing that it was obvious because why else would he come to her office.

"Alright Esteban?" She said and looked at him, pointing to the seat in front of her. "Talk."

Oh Boy, not what he was hoping for. He sighed, well it's now or never. He had come here for a purpose and he needed to say this. "My wife and are I are going to be moving back to Mexico." He sighed, realizing how much he really was going to miss the family he had created here. All of his friends and his boss. He sighed again. "So I'm going to have to resign my position here at the ministry." He sighed, thinking that he wish he could have avoided this, but Gina had been so great to him that she deserved to know in person.

"I'm so sorry." He added hoping that would help.

"But... But..." Merlin's beard!! "Esteban..." She sighed. "Of course... I will miss you my dear. Tell your wife I say good luck, and I'll have my husband send you some cookies as a goodbye."

And there it was. The lood he had been dreading since the moment he walked in here. Ugh, no good. He sighed, he wasn't sure how to handle this. He was missing his old life already. He didn't really want to leave, but it was best for his family. Jen and him and talked about this. He just didn't realzie how hard it was going to be to say good by to Gina.

"I'm so sorry. It was short notice I know, but it was great working for you Gina." He sighed again, thinking it was best the he leave now, before he teared up himself.

"I understand Estaban... good luck." She said escorting the man out. "You just let me know if you need anything."

And after he left she heard a knock. "Come in."

A few weeks later

Gina sat in her office doing some paperwork, while two knocks came to the door. "Come iiiiiiiin!" She sing-songed.

Having heard the bid to enter the office, Gavin stepped into the room. He was curious as to what it was Gina needed some volunteers for. He was always up for a challenge or to give a hand where needed. He hated just sitting around doing the same work all the time, and was more than willing to put his own work aside, to give a hand. His own work had gotten completed and was looking for something to do anyway, so he had jumped at the chance!

"I saw you were looking for a few volunteers?" he asked curiously as he approached the desk.

Oooh. It smelled like cookies. Damn, now Lola was hungry. She hadn't ben in Gina's office mich but it was nice, and kind of how she thought an office should look. Letting Gavin speak first she added, "Yeah, thats what I was here for too..."

Gina beamed with her husband's delicious cookies on a tray, still warm. "Hi there. Yes. I do have a job for you." She offered them cookies.

"I am so excited about this new Food Court, that I wish to have platters of goodies delivered to other department heads. I would like for you guys to get two nice platter, and deliver them to the Department of my dear friend Rex Vindictus." She said and then smiled. "Anything from there, just make it two nice platters, and deliver them in the G&S Conference Room, during their meeting. Explain what is on the platter and then let them know that it's from the New Food Court courtesy of our department."

She beamed again and then smiled. "I can't very well eat from the Food Court, my husband would be very offended... please have one of his cookies!"

ooc: You don't have to RP getting the trays from the food court. Just look at the Main Buffet, the Dessert Bar and the Juice Bar to decide what's on the platters.

Taking one, he smiled his thanks, biting off a corner. Mmmm, he loved cookies that were still nice, warm and chewy! Listening as she explained what she needed them to do he nodded smiling at whom the trays were for. That seemed pretty reasonably easy! AND it gave him a chance to go to G&S he'd not been on that level before, never had a reason to!

Grinning he could totally understand where she was coming from. "I really should go down there myself maybe today for lunch. Haven't been there yet." Yep, embarrassing, he'd passed out all those coupons and not even used one himself! "We can take care of this no problem." he added nodding as he looked towards Lola.

"Let's have one taken to Level one too... but let's do this one different... at level one please send Garden Gnome salad, Ceasar salad, Fruit Salad, Grilled Chicken wraps, Turkey wraps, Beef stew, Roast beef and Chicken Parmesan. Bring it to the senior undersecretary... make sure you let them know it's from our department." She said smiling.... "Yeah, either you can split it up, or you can do it together... but go ahead and do it, and report back to me as soon as possible!"

For the minister's office as well! Oh wow! Nodding, he grabbed the pad from his pocket and pen quickly as she started listing what she wanted for them to do a tray of, murmuring as he wrote, and listened as she went on "Beef stew...parmesan..." Nodding again, Gavin didn't think getting those trays all finished "Ok, so one tray with these to level 1." he said nodding at his pad, "And two trays to level 7." Fairly easy!

"We'll work it out just fine." he added smiling and nodding to Lola. "We'll be back shortly then."

Mmm. Cookies. Rex Vindictus? Head of Games and Sports right? At least she hoped. "Sure." Didn't seem like such a hard task. It would be fun!

Ministers office? Lola hadn't been there and that would be pretty cool if she got to go down there and check it out. Oh damn! Was Gavin writing this down? Yes, he was, just as well as she'd probably forget. She smiled back at Gavin. "Yep."

Escorting them both to the doors, she said "Hurry Back! Oh! One more set of two platters... your choice. Send it to the work area on the 6th level please and be sure to tell them the food is from the Cafeteria, and it's courtesy of the Department of International Cooperation!"

Entering the office once bidden to enter, Gavin stepped inside looking for Gina. "All 3 floors have received their trays." he said with a smile towards his department head.

"You caught me just in time. And thank you for that." Gina had a box on her desk, it contained everything personal she had in her office. She turned and held Gavin by his shoulders. "You are a doll baby Gavin... I am going to miss you most of all." She hugged him and kissed both cheeks. One at a time, obviously... "My husband has asked that I retire... that I spend time with him. And I sincerely wish to do so. So my dear Gavin, I'm stepping down. Please let the others know. When the Minister appoints a new Department Head, let that person know, that I said you all are the best Department here." She hugged him tightly again and said "Goodbye..." and out the door she went.

"You...I...WHAT?" he asked completely and totally stunned. Did she just... She couldn't! They'd been through so much over the years! Swallowing hard as she hugged him, he returned it whispering good bye to his department head as she walked out the door. He just stood there staring after her his jaw nearly on the floor.

Looking around the office that was so bare now, he stood at the door looking around it. He'd miss Gina a lot. He'd really enjoyed working with her, now he had someone new to look forward to. Sighing he stepped out the door and closed it behind him.

Entering the office for the first time since Gina had retired, Gavin had his box of items that he both chosen to set into his office as well as library of books he'd collected that had helped a lot with his work on Level 5. In the 5 years he'd been there he'd gathered quite a collection!

Looking around the empty office, Gavin still hadn't gotten over the shock that he'd been asked to take on the Department head position. It was an honor that was for sure. But he was also having a hard time knowing that Gina had just last week been in this office and her things were around it, and now...it was was his office.

He saw the desk that he'd asked for was there now, as were a few comfortable chairs around a table. A flicker of a smile appeared on his face as he set his box down. It was going to take some getting used to that was for sure, but he was ready for whatever was to come. He needed to have a meeting with the employees as soon as he could get organized.

Taking the books out he set them on the book shelves, and started placing his personal affects around the room. He made sure to set the picture of him and Kat on the corner of his desk. They'd had a long talk the night before and knew some changes were going to be happening soon.

After Gavin had asked him to enter his office, Dimitri stepped his foot to enter his office. Honestly he never had been here, even when Gina was still the Head of this department. The skinny guy spotted Gavin was busy arranging his new desk. That man really deserved this position. Really. He was so much helpful and nice to the fellow employee of level 5.

"Is there anything that I can do to help you, Mr Higareda the new Department Head?" asked him half-joking. Actually he just came here to say congratulations.
