At the knock on the door, Charles looked up with disapproval written all over his face. He watched two more people enter the room and resisted rolling his eyes. If that had been him, he wouldn't have just said 'welcome', he'd have just told them to sit down and shut up, then see him afterwards. His eyes turned back to his parchment as he noted something else down, but raised his head at the mention of his first name once more. Seriously, Gavin? Can't we drop all the informalities? Taking an instant dislike to Jack who seemed to think it was okay to tease his superior, he just nodded back to the man. First he turned up late, then he joked with his department head and to top it all, he'd obviously been the reason Elizabeth had been distracted when he first met her. It seemed they were okay now, though, from the PDA Elizabeth was engaging in. "Pleasure to meet you too," Kat, wasn't it? "Kat." |
A purple paper airplane, complete with the emblem of the Ministry of Magic stamped along its sides, makes its ways through the lifts and corridors of the Ministry of Magic. Reaching its destination, the interdepartmental memo comes to rest in front of its intended recipient. When unfolded, it reads: Quote:

Nodding as he got more input from people, a chuckle escaped at Jack's response. "Well yes I'd hope so too." he said shaking his head amused. Smiling as the introductions went around. "All right so just get back to me on what you find regarding the carpets. I have a few more things I'd like to bring up." Looking up as a memo flew through the air towards him he took it in hand before looking around again. Opening the memo as he spoke "Ok what's the current status in each of your areas?" Glancing over the note he looked over at the clock on the wall. Plenty of time... |
And it seemed Gavin didn't mind the joking. Another thing on the list of things he believed were wrong in this place. Humpf. His eyes narrowed curiously at the purple paper plane. It looked official, but paper planes? Really? They were the kind of things that |
Iridesca clicked towards the door in her blue heels to match her hair and suit. She took a little breath and glanced down at her clipboard and to do list and then knocked timidly on the door....maybe if she knocked softly enough no one would hear her...and then she could just make this decision on her own...o no that was stupid.... She stepped back and waiting patiently running over her to-do list and planning for the Russian Visitor...should she have a banner made? She added that to the list and made a note to the side to ask the Minister about that one... |
Due to lack of people we're going to end the meeting ;-) Nodding as Charles spoke. "Indeed I'm not too concerned about yours nor Elizabeth's areas right now. You definitely need time to get settled in." Rising to his feet, he smiled at his group of ambassadors. "Well that's everything I had. If there isn't anything else meeting adjourned." Ok, now that sounded really weird. But what else did you say? Ok goodbye? That sounded even more weird! OOC:Feel free to RP leaving if you wish ;) *** Quote:

She glanced down at her clipboard and then continued...that was her straight to the point..., "We are going to be having a visit from the Russian Minister in the next couple of weeks and I've been given the task of putting together a catered meal for him...I was just wondering if you had a file on his likes and dislikes..." yes she knew this was a long shot but it was better than just shooting from the hip and hoping that she picked out a good meal. |

"Gina had some information on him..." he murmured as he flipped through and finally pulled out a folder and sat on the edge of the desk looking through it "Hmmm ok, Russian Minister...No Bouillabaisse he detests it, but he does have a few foods he is known to choose, Kholodets but veil not pork. And a favourite desert he likes is Syrniki with a dab of applesauce on top." Ew. Ok well everyone has their own preferences... "That's all that I'm seeing here, he said shrugging looking back up at Iridesca. |

She was surprised when he found it so quickly and she quickly pulled out a blue quill and started making notes on her clipboard about his needs...hoping she was spelling it all right...but did it really matter...it was just her notes...she glanced up occasionally with a smile...but she found it hard to smile at the man's wants...they sounded horrid... "Thank you so much...I've never had some of these dishes but they sound horrid..." she said with a squashed up face, "Is there anything else in there that I might need to know when greeting/welcoming him to the Ministry?" she asked intently....she knew she had come to the right place... |

Looking up as she spoke again he shook his head "I haven't heard of the Syrniki but the kholodets I had. But the toppings...I don't know if I'd try that." Yeah...applesauce on top of a desert, whatever it was. "Well Gina has one important note apparently here, that you might want to be aware of." Reading it word for word from her notes "If you decide to kiss him on both cheeks in greeting, be warned he might attempt to kiss you by turning his head last second." |
Elizabeth knocked on her boss's door. She was still a little sick but she was trying to hide it because she was getting tired of being babied by her overprotective husband. Eliza had her cloak on but not tightly around her like usual since she didnt want to show off her weightloss from the sickness. Elizabeth had a feeling that she might have slapped her boss... twice but she didnt know if that was a dream or reality. Eliza nervously looked around, hoping her husband wouldnt show up. |

"Besides you were pretty ill. Are you feeling any better?" he asked concern tinting his voice. |

"Of course you are still welcome to call me Gavin." he said smiling at her as he sat back in his chair. "And of course I forgive you. Everyone gets kind of off when they're sick and you definitely weren't doing well that day." Shaking his head he looked down at his desk "Just trying to piece together what the illness that seems to be appearing in the ministry is all about, we've been collecting information from other countries to see if there's a pattern." |
Elizabeth actually smiled this time then went behind his desk, hugging him, not caring if it aint appropriate at work. They were friends... or at least was. "So, anything I can do?" Eliza went back around and sat in front of his desk, hoping that the cloak veiled her weight loss. Yeah, she wasnt feeling better... at least not the best she could but she didnt want to get babied. |
Returning her hug he beamed at her, happy that at least she wasn't worried about him being mad about it. He hadn't been mad, just surprised really. But heck he'd had worse then that! "Well we're trying to determine the illness so what you could do is give some people a call in Africa and see if there's anything that they know of about those symptoms. See if there's a plant or bug that causes it." |
Elizabeth nodded and pulled out a pad and pencil, writing down what he said. She glanced up, "Is that all or is there more I need to do?" Eliza was ready to get down to work and work her butt off even if it made her worse. Elizabeth was tired of being told not to do this or that. |
"For now that's all we can really do, is collect info and see if we come up with anything." he said shaking his head "Work with Charles and the other ambassadors, they're each to contact their countries and see what they can find as well." Looking up he wondered if she was feeling any better or if she was trying to hide how she was. Hmmm well he couldn't force her to go home even if she was, it was her choice. |
Elizabeth nodded, "Okay." She smiled, "It is great to be back... I was feeling a bit cooped up..." Eliza sighed, "Though do you mind if I call at a cafe in the DA? I am tired of being in a place with four walls..." Elizabeth blushed, "I mean if you prefer me to be in a cubicle, i can..." |
Grinning he shook his head "Not at all, feel free to do as you wish there. Sometimes we get more done when it don't feel like work completely." Yep he liked leaving the place once in awhile to get out and into the world to do work. Like that thing in France he was thrilled because it was hands on and out there doing it! |
"Thanks, Gavin." She laughed and smiled, "You dont know how much this makes me happy... Jack wouldnt even let me clean." Eliza pouted a little. "He doesnt even know that I'm here." Elizabeth chuckled and started to cough a little. |
Laughing he shook his head "I think I've been the same with Kat lately, and it's been driving her bonkers." Watching as she coughed a bit "Take it easy though kay? Don't want you getting worse, but I do know what it's like to feel completely helpless but yet want to get out and do stuff." |
Elizabeth laughed, "Okay... can you not tell Jack that I came in today?" Her eyes begged him, "I mean you dont have to lie about it but..." Eliza just changed her look to a more pleading one. |
