Office of Department Head, Gavin Higareda Welcome to the Office of Gidyun Yenorin Department Head http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...psa0339601.jpg http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps769a97b6.jpg Once you are bidden to enter, you enter the room and look around you. Olive green covers the walls and wood covers the lower half of the walls. Large pictures cover a few of the walls of places he's gone to during his time away. In one corner sits a large fireplace and above that is a foe glass with lamps on either side. Behind his desk sits the doors going into the work areas. His desk seems quite small and empty, but most of the items have a disillusionment charm on them, so if you look just right you can see it's quite cluttered. A few picture frames are on the corners of the desk, one holds Becca and him at their wedding, the other holds their three children Torie, James and Norah. Book shelves line one wall with lots of 20th century books. A few current titles appear on them, but his collection there isn't as broad. In the center of the room is a seating area with a few squashy chairs and a sofa. A coffee table with a potted plant sits on it. Just past that is a conference table with enough seats for the department workers. ooc: Open RP Area. Any ministry personnel may RP here. Please note there is no longer a seating area outside the office. This means you don't need to wait to enter the office, but please do knock. Gidyun might possibly having a meeting with a few employees. If this is the case, please do pm him, if you need interrupt. But he won't yell at you if you appear anyway ;) |
The United Kingdom. The place he, Enrique Brandon, had attented the school to. The very country that he had lived for seven long years. And he was back to here. To London. To live for who-knows how long this time. He hoped he could forget some certain people, and be happy. In this first foreign land he had set his foot on, 16 years ago. Thus, half-full of confidence, Enrique Brandon stood in front of the office of his new director. He checked his clothes once again to be sure he looked not too neat, but enough. Seeing they were all fit, he took a deep breath, tried to change his thinking from Spanish to English, and knocked on the door. |
Gina opened the door to her office. "Oh... Hello! I was having a little nibble. Would you like to join me? It's home made german chocolate cake and milk." She said opening the door more to let him in. "I can also offer you tea I suppose." She said with a giggle. "You must be new here. I'm Gina. The Department Head." |
...Great-greatmother? Really? Enrique blinked for a moment at the woman's sight, but with respect to her AGE he covered up quickly, hopefully without any notice, and smiled, at a loss to say anything with the shock. Sure, the department head should be older that a certain age, but definitely younger than another certain stage as well. But, at the mention of nibble... he found his voice at last. "Gracias," he said, smiling again. Mmm, German chocolate. He hid his grin. If they were going to eat lots of sweets, he was happy to work here. Hehe. Though he took none at first. It was rude to dig into food at the first meeting, no? "Yes señora, I'm new here," he said, as he tried the name in his mind. Gina... But that was her name. She wanted to be called by her first name? He stuck with 'señora', just in case. She was... much older than him, after all. "Pleased to meet you, señora," he said, pausing to process what he had said until then. "Enrique Brandon, the new employee." Obviously. As she had just figured out. |
"Enrique... Call me Gina, please." She said offering him a plate, the rich cake sitting sideways on it. "I hope you'll let me call you Ricky... Enrique may be a little hard for me... though I must say, I am doing well with it. Enrique." She giggled. |
Call her Gina? But she was more than his double-age... probably his tripled age. Well, if that was what she wanted... "Señora Gina," he said, smiling at the offer of cake. Now, it was safe enough to take one, right? Right. And wow, this was delicious. He sat down on the seats in front of her desk. She seemed like a nice, old lady. He was glad she was his head. It could have been someone quite arrogant or something... "Yes, Enrique is a bit hard. But you are doing well, Señora Gina," he commented. He could never like the 'Ricky' name, but he also understood British people could never pronounce 'Enrique'. At least, Gina was a bit better. |
Mizuki knocked on the closed office door of her department head. She felt she needed to meet the woman and that it might be good to ask for her first assignment as most of the morning had been spent trying to get to know her co-workers. She was ready to work. |

What brought him to the British Ministry? He chuckled uneasily. His past, the need of a place change afterwards, his problems with his family, the conditions in Spain, the conditions here, the need of money... "England has always attracted me somehow." A fair enough answer? |
"Well it can't be the food..." She said and giggled. "Though I must say I haven't found anyone with a good Ploughman's Lunch outside of the U.K." She took a bite of her cake and added "And international cooperation? Why does that attract you?" |
Chuckling slightly at the guess, Enrique nodded. It TOTALLY wasn't the food--it was actually the biggest minus of England. He had literally thought about that before coming to here. Luckily though, there was a good Mexican restautant close by. He was going there every night, for sure. "Well, I know several languages," he said as he paused to give a proper answer. "And I've always had a certain interest to other cultures, talking to them, learning from them..." "It was going to be either International Relations or sports, and he had chosen the first one. Period. |
"That's Lovely, just lovely." Her cake was finished, and said "Care for another slice? Or do you think you should begin work?" Gina was not the most subtle person, but she was always very polite. |
Offering a small smile again, Enrique eyed the cake slices for a moment and thought about getting one, but then decided against it. Yes, they were delicious and stuff, but it would both be rude and he wanted to start work now. "Thank you, Gina, for your politeness and the cake," he said, getting up. "The cake was delicious, but I think I should begin working." He still had tons of people to meet with, after all, and eating cake wouldn't bring them... plus, she was probably a busy person as well, she was their manager, after all. So... where was he to go now? And do what, exactly? |
"Aww that's sweet of you to say Enrique." She said and opened her door. "The cubicle area is right through those doors. Good luck Dear." She told him. |
Smiling again, Enrique bowed with his head slightly and as Gina described, turned to the right to the working area. He hoped this first day would be OK. It was his first day ever, after all, and hopefully the nice opening with Gina would go on. |
"Who's next?" she asked the people in the doorway. |
Mizuki comes to the door. "I was next Mrs. Latorta-san" She said bowing respectfully to her boss. |
"Gina, dear, please just call me Gina." She said going to her desk. "I have German chocolate cake, would you care for a slice while we talk?" She asked the woman. |

Sarah knocked on the door of the head of the departments office. This is was first day and wanted to meet with the department head to get her assignments and such. She waited patiently on the other side of the door. She hoped that she would make a good first impression on, her head of department. |
ooc: Sorry, I'm a little slower to reply when I am sick :( Quote:
She heard a knock "Oh, hold that thought." and made her way back to the door. Quote:
"Now," and she returned to her cake and seat, "Where were we?" |
Quote:
She smiled, thinking of her beautiful son and the letter she'd got this morning telling her about his week. She missed him so much. Blinking she came back into the conversation. "I am so sorry, I was just thinking abut my son." She told Gina conversationally. "I miss him terribly." |
"Oh Darling..." she said scurrying to her side. "We need to get you something stronger... something... Fudgy..." She said going into a cupboard and taking out something decadent. "I keep this in cases of dire emergencies... Have a slice and tell me all about your son..." |
Quote:
|
"Oh sweety!" She said taking the picture. Gina smiled. The boy was wearing makeup and black nail polish... she guessed it was better than red. "He's... quite the young wizard. I know you miss him. He must miss you too. But he needs you to be strong for him right now." then she smiled. "That a girl. The requests are in the supply cupboard... You can move them if you wish." |
Quote:
|
"Oh, of course... on both." She smiled and patted her shoulders, "Come back anytime to you need someone to talk to." As she opened the door to let the woman out, a memo slapped her in the face: Quote:
(From the Staircase) The door opened and Gina came in with Armen in tow. "I have fudge..." She said pulling out a box from her desk. "It should help us with our brainstorming... I like your open door policy idea..." |
Quote:
She liked his idea? "Well thanks. I figured it would also add to a sense of community within the employees and Departments." he smiled. Borr would eat that stuff up. "I think that if we combined our ideas, my open door thing and your breeze charm, we could send them in seperately and just both have a small note on the bottom saying we were planning on implenting them through the Ministy." He nodded smally. |
She cut up the fudge into little chunks. "So do we write up a proposal?" She asked offering him a few chunks. |
Quote:
After chewing and closing his eyes for a second to revel in the awesomeness of the treat, Armen spoke in reply to her question. "I would say yes. We can write up a proposal and then sign both of our names on the bottom, then deliver it to Borr. But I also will have people on my level do some plants and fans too just so Borr doesn't try to twist the two of our's work into us not doing things individually or whatever he can come up with." Armen added. He didn't want Borr to think they were lazy after all, even though coming up with two awesome ideas didn't qualify as lazy to Armen. |
"Plants and Fans?" she asked and shook her head with a smile. "We shouldn't mention plants in the proposal. He'll think we're stealing his amazing idea..." She laughed. "And the circulating charm will work better than any fan." She popped a piece of fudge in her mouth and squealed with joy. "Mmmm, I yub fujj." She said with her mouth full. |
Quote:
The man couldn't help but let the corner of his lips arch up in a smile while Gina expressed her love for the gooey snack. "Me too," and with a nodd he popped another chunk into his mouth. |
"Why? What does he want it to be?" She asked him. "He's not told me anything about my department." |
Sorry for the lateness <33 Quote:
The man chewed another piece of fudge and waited for Gina to speak. |
"Oh" She giggled, "I thought you meant he spoke to you personally about your department... We should hold meetings with our employees to get further ideas..." She said and began writing up a memo to send to her workers. |
Quote:
"So should we go ahead and write up the proposal for our Ministry/Level-wide ideas that we came up with today? That way the Minister can go ahead and get it?" He had to deliver his level plans aswell soon, hopefully before the man exploded; both figuratively and literally. |
"No, let's meet with our departments." She said, "We'll then re-meet and re-evaluate... and write up our proposals?" She asked. |
Quote:
|
"Of course..." she said packing some up and handing it to him. "Enjoy it." |
Matthew entered his boss's office after a short wait. Since he didn't have that much to say, he decided to make it quick, to let the woman do her job, assuming she was probably very busy. 'It's a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Latorta. I am Matthew DuBarry, the new Ambassador to Africa. I just wanted to see you before I officially begin my work here.' Yes, that pretty much summed it all up. 'Any urgent tasks at hand?' To be honest, the man was pretty clueless about what he was supposed to do on his first day, especially since his new job differed greatly from the old one. |
Walking In after The other Man , Corrina Just Stood There , the office was very clean and organized but the lady would be busy for sure so she just introduced herself . " Hello Ma'am I'm Corrina Delacour nice to meet you . " She said . " I Work as an Immigration Officer and i was wondering If There are any Tasks Or Any Things There are To Finish ? The Blonde Said Curiously . It was Her First Day Here after all , She Had Only Met a Few People But She Really Had to Meet The Head Of Department since, well The Lady is Her Boss . |

Quote:
"Hello Corrina, please, call me Gina..." She said with a giggle. "You are the new immigration officer? Great! There is a lot of paperwork that needs to be processed. Approve and reject the people who have applied to come live here. Cookie?" She said showing her the plate. |

Sarah walked into her boss's office. She had been waiting for a while but she undertood. her boss seem like she was very busy. Just like everyone here. After being away from London for a few years, she was glad to be back here. She was just now getting sittled into her husband's family's home. Belle Vue. "Sarah Spencer...Scott. Sorry I'm still not used to the name change yet." She laughed as her face flushed. "I've only been married a couple months, see." She played with her wedding band, a terrible habit she had picked up, since she started waring it. "Anyway." Quite ashamed that she had so quickly gotten off topic. "I've been assigned to as an Immigration Officer. I just wanted to know if there are any assignments that I need to do. " |
Quote:
" Ok Ill Get to work Right away " Corrina Said , she really didn't want to mess up on her first day , Oh and The Lady Was Offering cookies , Everyone In This Department Had to Love The Department Head She was Really " Sweet " If You Knew What she Meant . " Thanks " She Said Grabbing a cookie and Biting it. " Wow This is really good ! " Corrina Said In Amazement . |
Esteban knocked on his Department Head's door. He wasn't sure if there was something else that he should be doing. Going back and forth from America seemed almost to good to be true for a job like this. He loved it after all, he was just hoping that he wasn't missing something. And, he wasn't completely sure if they had actually met in person before he took his desk. Oh wait...yes they have, then maybe Esteban was here to remind her he was stil here?? Okay, he really didn't know why he was here. |
A sudden flash of pale-violet appears in the office, and upon looking up, one can see that an interdepartmental memo in the form of a folded paper airplane has made its way in. Once caught and unfolded, the memo inside will read: Minister Berty Borr has called a mandatory meeting with the Senior Undersecretary and all Ministry Department Heads. The meeting will commence immediately in Courtroom 10 on the tenth level of the Ministry of Magic. Please be on time and bring with you all ideas and responses to the recent memo regarding the rejuvenating of our spirits and the oxygenating of our halls. |
ooc: I'm going to pick up from here. Sorry for taking so long! Quote:

Still a bit surprised at the task at hand, feeling that he was wasting his time with methods of livening up the offices when he should be working on international agreements and the like, Matthew couldn't help but emphatize with Gina, who had to face Lord Borr often. 'So how did the meeting go? Was the Minister satisfied with our proposals?' he asked his boss. |
Quote:
"I'm getting married!" He said nearly bouncing out of his chair, his life was perfect at the moment. He loved his job, his finacee, everything was just perfect. |

"We'd be honored if you'd attend the wedding, I think Jen is sending out invites soon, if she hasn't already." He said realzing that he probally should be more active in the wedding plannig, Jen probally needed help with it. |
Elizabeth Davis knocked gently on her new boss' door, hoping she wasn't interrupting anything. She smoothed out imaginary winkles on her outfit. She thought about her husband who died a year ago and her sweet young daugther. It was a good thing that she decided to take her daugther and move, there was too many memories in Loire. Carina seems happy about the move. Elizabeth shook her head trying to clear her thoughts. |
Nicole walked up to her boss' office and knocked on the door. She took a deep breath in and let it out. This was one of her first days at work and she wanted to get off with a good start. |

She sighed and then said. "He told you to hang it up, hang it up, if you would though, do cover it with a sheet and affix a permanent sticking charm to the frame so the sheet will not fall off." |

"Well Elizabeth, I hope you will join us in our strike. It will happen sooner than you think..." She said. |

Esteban knocked on his Department Head's door. Things had been strange for him lately, he was feeling different about himself none the less and he felt the need to explain why he had been missing for the past few weeks and why he was ready to be back. Well, at least he hoped he was ready to do be back. He was giving it his all anyway. |
"Come Iiiiiin!" She sang from her desk. |
Esteban heard her sing come in..Some times that woman made him laugh. He smiled and stepped into Gina's office. He was kind of nervous to be here, after all her work performance wasn't so good over the last few weeks. He smiled at her and sat down in the chair across from her desk. "Gina, how are you?" He asked still smiling, actually it felt good to be back, he knew this was where he belonged whether or not his wife....no don't think that way. |
"I could be better." She said eyeing the sheet covering the enormous portrait of Lard Butt. "How can I help you Estaban?" |
Esteban just then noticed the a portrait with a sheet covering it. "What is that?" He asked, not knowing who she would want to cover up in her office. He then turned back toward her thinking about how it was best to phrase this. He wasn't even sure what was going on anymore, everything was different now, and in such a short time. "First off, I'm sorry I was gone for so long." He couldn't even remember how long it had been. So much had changed in the few weeks, months...well what ever it was. "My wife and I are expecting a child." He said with not as much excitement as he should have, the joy of becoming a parent was masked by everything else that was going on. "Jen and I took so time off to be with our families, and she has..." Oh boy, Esteban wasn't really sure how to finish this. "To stay with them for the time being." He was giving his life story to his boss, but it was the only way to explain his lack of work over the past days. "But I'm back, and ready to jump to." He added with a smile. |
"Congratulations," she said clapping, "Children are such blessings, and don't worry about your time off, I'm glad you are ready to jump in. We'll be starting our strike soon! I hope to see you on that picket line." |
Quote:
He turned to go, "Let me know if you need me to organize anything." He added with a smile. He would always be there to help Gina out. |
"Just be there, and if you want to Help with signage and mottos, I'll be grateful," She said escorting the man out. "and again, congratulations!" |
It was only her second day at work, and already Nikki was confused. Yesterday while making a cup of coffee in the break room, she had overheard a few employees talking about a a strike involving the minster. At first she had ignored it, presuming that it was just new employees trying to start some rumors. But as the day went went on it didn't seem like some silly, little rumor. She wondered why the employees would want to start such a commotion until she took a glance at her list of tasks. Make robes for the Department of Magical Law Enforcement?! She had thought to herself. What do we look like? Madame Malkins Robe Shop?! And that wasn't all. Deliver cookies to his office--explains why he's so round--and then go pick out a rug for him? And did he really refer to their Department Head as 'The Old Woman'? Nikki had decided that she would have to ask 'The Old Woman' about a few things to clear things up. Besides, it also gave her the chance to introduce herself. So, with her steaming cup of coffee in one hand, Nikki knocked on the door three times, and waited for a response. |
Quote:
Stop by the sign making station and make a sign, write a motto, then join us on the picket line! "Oh my, Nikki! I'm sorry, but I'm on my way to the Strike! Come join me and we can discuss things on the picket line!" Gina said and hurried off. |
Quote:
"We were a little concerned that we'd not seen you since the strike." he said turning back to his department head. "Everything alright?" |
Quote:
She nodded at Gavin's concern. "It was like you disappeared." |

"We got word from Perry in France that a group has been selling fake portkeys." Gavin began regarding their true reason for being there. "He's asked for my help particularly since I've helped in the past with busting these false sales. Miss Windsor-Beaumont here and I have some ideas of how to go about trying to bust this wide open." |
Quote:
Quote:
She listened as Gavin started talking. Cringing at 'Miss Windsor-Beaumont' (mental note: tell him to never call her that), she continued with what he was saying. "We were thinking," she started. "That we could pretend to be a married couple with children and wanted to go on a family vacation." There, that sounded well put together, hopefully. |
Quote:
Quote:
"With children?" She asked and blinked. "Uhmmm... I would rather not risk something to happen to someone's kids." She giggled, "Is this a way to get an all expense paid vacation?" |
SPOILER!!: Gina and Katrina He saw the cringe and winced as he did. He hadn't meant to make her cringe, but didn't know if Gina would have approved otherwise. Then when Gina spoke, he winced again, ok maybe that was alright then. He'd apologize later to Katrina, he'd just wanted to keep it businesslike... Nodding at Katrina's addition to what he'd said he turned back to Gina. Shaking his head quickly he spoke up "No, not at all. I'd never want to risk the children in any possible dangerous situation!" Smiling at her joke about expenses paid vacation he shook his head again. "Our plan was...is to go down to France and work with Perry to set this up. We'd go posing as a couple to purchase some portkeys to take our children on a vacation with." "If they ask about the children, we're planning on having a picture done with Ms...Katrina's youngest siblings and ourselves." It sounded about right didn't it? Glancing over at Katrina he added "If all goes well we should be able to catch a few of those that are in this business quickly. If not..." |
Quote:
Quote:
"Absolutely not!" she exclaimed. "I could never do that." Especially to her own siblings. "We figured a picture would be more reliable than just stating that we had children. Anyone could just say they have kids." she said gesturing with her arms as she spoke. |
Quote:
Quote:
"Alright then." She said and ate a little soup. "You all go... but be careful, I would hate for something to happen to you. Oh, and be sure to show me that picture! How cute would you two be as a couple!" They weren't... were they? |
Quote:
"We'll make sure to bring you the picture to see." he said trying to keep his voice steady. |
Quote:
Quote:
Katrina's eyes widened ever so slightly at Gina's comment. Had she figured it out already? She glanced over at Gavin to see that he glanced at her and she blushe as well. He was trying to keep his face and voice steady. Their reactions probably gave away an answer to her comment. "Thank you Gina. We will go and not keep you from your lunch." She said standing up and smiling at her boss. |
Quote:
Quote:
"Be careful my dears, and write me up a report of what you've done!" She said excitedly. |
Quote:
Quote:
His gaze went quickly back to his department head as she spoke. "We will keep you posted. We have a bit left to do, but should be on our way within a few days." Looking at Katrina again as he rose from his seat, "Anything else to add?" |

Lola awkwardly stumbled into the office of her Dept. Head. Lola had been absorbed in another fantasy and had been paying little attention, other than the general direction in which she was headed. Oh darn! Should have knocked. Too late for that now. Waiting Area! There was a waiting area! Lola, why can't you be normal, stop having daydreams and don't lose your job! "Hello." Lola managed awkwardly whilst scratching her head. "Sorry, I uh -" don't tell her you spend your life daydreaming- she's your boss! Stupid Lola. "Sorry, I should have knocked." she pointed to the door apologetically. |
Gina turned sweetly. "It's alright dear. I'm perfectly fine. How may I help you deary?" |

"Right, I was the one who hired you." She said opening her arms greeting her. "Welcome Lola, welcome." She said and then shook her hand. "You let me know if you need anything." |
