Hershey, of course, shouted internally. She motioned to Ella that she was going to go ahead and slowly stepped away from the group. She gave a bow, nice and low like Ella had said and kept eye contact with the PRETTY PRETTY HIPPOGRIFF.

And then... she waited to see if the creature would like her or not. This was VERY EXCITING.

Hello there, hippogriffy.

Manolo watched Ms. Hershey lady took her turn with the really Hippogriff. He waited as she took her bow and waited for the creature to grant permission. He couldn't wait for his turn! Imagine being able to tell Awar that he interacted with a Hippogriff!

She nodded at the head woman's words. The hippogriff came into view. It looked so magnificent and pretty that Julia just stared at it. She'd seen many before but everytime it was the samething. STARE. Which was actually good, wasn't it?

Who would like to go first? OH I WOULD LOVE TO.

The Gryffindor streak was playing good with her. She signalled to the woman and moved a teeny bit forward. You don't want to offend the pretty thing.

She bowed very low and raised up a little and then looked her in the eye. Right in the eye. Come on dear thing, be nice... I'm no monster.

She was waiting patiently when finally, one of the humans decided to come forward and bow to her. The hippogriff blinked her orange eyes at the young woman as she bowed and kept eye contact. She waited a few more short moments to inspect her. She seemed nice.

The hippogriff slowly bowed her head down and ruffled her wing feathers excitedly. Then she lifted her head and waited for the human to approach her. But she was still watching, very closely and carefully.

Was this one just going to stand there? The hippogriff blinked her orange eyes and nodded her head at the male human. He looked he would give nice ear scratches.

Oh, good, another one. Would this one scratch her nose? The hippogriff inspected this woman before bowing back to her. Then she lifted her head and waited patiently for her to come forward.

Oh, Merlin. It seemed like it was looking at him. Should he go? Maybe it'll get overwhelmed with so many humans around. Its worth the shot, yeah? He bowed and looked into the magnificent creature's eyes.

The hippogriff stared at her for a while. She was beginning to feel a bit awkward...but then it bowed. Julia's lips curled into a little smile. She lifted her head and looked into those intense and piercing orange eyes. JUST LOOK AT ME.

She moved forward, inch by inch, keeping her eye contact intact as she did. As she inched nearer to the hippogriff, she extended her hand. By now, she was just a few inches away from the creature. She closed the distance, still looking at those orange orbs, and brought her hand near it's beak. NOW WE WAIT.

Hershey almost held her breath while she waited and was suddenly very tempted to blink, since she couldn't, but it all paid off when the creature bowed back to her. EEK, how exciting! She stepped forward slowly enough not to make the hippogriff think she was charging it or something. And lifted her hand to pet her pretty head and scratch a little. All animals, the ones who would let you touch them, anyway, seemed to like a little affectionate scratch on the head.

Niiiceeee hippogriffy. Too bad she didn't have any food to give to her.

Finally, the human bowed. She liked him. The Hippogriff bowed, too, signalling that he could come closer. She lifted her head and waited for him.

The hippogriff watched as the woman inched closer. Very intently, she stared, inspecting her to make sure she wasn't going to attack. She seemed safe, though. When the woman brought her hand up to her beak, the hippogriff sniffed it hesitantly...

Approved. With a little satisfied grunt, the hippogriff rubbed its beak against her hand. Love, please.

This one seemed like she was going to burst at the seams at any moment. The hippogriff was hesitant with her, too, but she let her come forward. When she lifted her hand, the hippogriff accepted the petting and the scratching with another satisfied grunt. She liked her, too.

So everyone decided they would go an interact with the Hippogriff? Well, fine with him, as long as they didn't get themselves killed. That would be bad.

Derek just stood there and watched as people went, one by one, to... do stuff with the hippogriff. But no, he himself wasn't going to do anything besides watching. Honestly, what was so interesting about petting a creature? Or riding it or whatever? Derek was just fine where he was, where no one would look at him and... well, watch him. If he had chosen to go to the animal, all the others would watch him like he was watching them.

And the 26 year-old most certainly did not want that.
