On the eighth floor of the Ministry of Magic and in the midst of the Atrium, lies a large ballroom that has served as home to many events in the past. Today, though, the ballroom has been set aside specifically for voting in the Board of Governors election. The ballroom isn't as decorated as it usually is for various festivities. The atmosphere today is a serious one, after all. Inside, you will find a line of booths decorated with shiny pink-purple velvet drapes and a variety of anti-cheating, anti-fraud, and anti-dark magic counter charms.
Before you can get to the booths, though, and can receive your super important ballot, you must check in at the long wooden table in front of them. Be sure to have your wand and one form of identification ready for when you step up to the table, as the Board of Elections employees are trying to keep this process running smoothly and quickly to accommodate as many voters as possible.
Once you have been checked in, you'll be handed an Official Board of Governors Election Ballot. Remember, only pick nine candidates and do not leave any voting paraphernalia in the booth you use.
On your way out, don't forget to turn your ballot into the locked charm ballot safe near the check-in! Thank you for exercising your right to vote!
OOC NOTE: While we do have an actual Board of Elections played by members from the Minister's Office in the Ministry, you do not have to wait for them to RP your character voting. Just be considerate and do not RP in detail for someone else. =) And remember, only fill out the actual questionnaire once! It's good for three characters!

Alexander made way from his office on level one to the voting polls in the Atrium. He cared about this election for three main reasons, and their names were Hecate, Sierra, and Ariadne. Sure, Sierra would be a graduate soon enough, buts he was still a student now. Then there was his wife, a professor, and then his baby girl, who'd likely be a student there someday.
Although he was fairly sure his employees knew him, one could never be to sure in the world of impersonations. AKA Polyjuice. He presented his wand and identification, checked in, and then left to vote. After voting for the candidates of his choice, he turned in his ballot and considered his work here done.
He headed back to his office with confidence in his step.

Once the booths were up and ready, Ella took a break from her work to go vote. Sadly, she didn't have any of her own personal children to think of in the voting process... but in order to vote truthfully, she put herself in the mindset of a mother.
After checking in with her wand was successful, Ella stepped up to a booth and made her rather difficult choice. Once she was done and felt confident with her answers, she left the Atrium pleased.
Stepping up to the tables, Gavin watched as people signed in and headed for the booths. Handing them his Ministry ID and wand he waited for them to check him in, thanking the person he headed for the next open booth with his ballot.
Filling out the ballot he chose who he'd want to be on the board with him, making certain that all the choices were correct and stepped out and placed the ballot into the ballot safe before walking away.
Today is the day. It seems only yesterday that he was appointed as a the Head of the Board of Elections and now is the time that he needs to stand up.
He stepped out of the Floo network fireplace. He looked around and a few people were already there ready for a long day. Some look excited and some looked amazed. Zach, on the other hand looked confident and hopeful.
He then looked at the arrangements happening for the polling place. They managed to ask for help from other department with regards to setting up the place and he was very thankful for that.
He looked at the people that was already there and gave them a smile and nodded. "Good day" he said with a hearty smile.

He looked up after sitting on his fancy chair and table and saw the Minister of Magic. He stood up and said, "Good day, Mr. Greingoth. How are we feeling today?".
He then received his wand and ID to verify his identity. He returned his wand and ID and said, "Please vote responsibly" he said with a smile.

Today was Voting Day, Wesley remembered, pretty much as soon as he stepped into the Atrium and saw all the people and all the booths. Oi, those curtains were offensive. No doubt that was the doing of that redheaded banshee over at Hogwarts...
Shaking his head slightly to himself, the DMLE Head stepped up to the line and offered his Ministry I.D. and his wand to the young junior undersecretary. "McMillan," he nodded to show he remembered the guy's name. Ian Amoroso was here too, huh. "Amoroso," Wes also nodded to him. "How's it going?" The man had been busy this year.

Today was Voting Day, Sky had been reminded a couple time. As she stepped into the Atrium she looked around and saw all the people and all the booths. She had a feeling it might get hectic in here. The blonde stepped up to the line and offered her Ministry I.D. and her wand to the person. She looked around hey look Wes was here, Mr.Bossman. Sky nodded towards him "Hello Wes, how is it going?"

Roxanne had hurried over to vote herself after posting the notice on the DERP bulletin board to do so. But after catching sight of the garishly decorated booths and table, she started to wish that she hadn't. Who thought that actually looked good?! And it wasn't the color she objected too, since she actually kind of liked the color pink. It was the fact that it was SHINY VELVET. Who used shiny or velvet materials at a serious occasion? Or even together at all ever?
Getting over just barely the decor, she recognized the two people in front of her. "Hello Wes, Sky," she greeted, giving each of them a nod. "Nice decorations, huh?" That last bit was said with a bit of a smirk. She pulled out her wand and Ministry I.D. and held them out to the Board of Elections worker, taking the offered ballot.

Emily hadn't really been following the whole election spiel, she'd been too focused on other things. Like her career, and what she was going to eat the next night. See, far more important. But at the end of the day, Hogwarts had been a home to her... and she appreciated her experiences there, so as a result, she found herself at the polling booth, staring down at her ballot paper wondering who the heck deserved her vote.
In the end, she managed to allocate votes to some candidates. They weren't all awful after all.
She'd have stayed to chat, but chat was not her thing. Bye dudes and dudettes.

Before heading down to Mysteries today Isobel had to remind herself that she needed to vote. Whilst it wouldn't have been that much of an inconvenience if she had forgotten, she was feeling a little lazy today. and so wanted to get voting out of the way as soon as possible. Hopefully some of her employees would come vote too, because they hadn't really been doing a lot recently. Heading into the atrium, she wandered over to the polling location. It looked kind of busy already. Ahh. There was her husband. Great minds thought a like clearly.
Ahh. Roxanne was here too. MLE reunion or something? "Morning..." She murmured to all of them, before she offered her wand, and ID over to the person.

While Wes was waiting to be handed his ballot, he glanced around the voting area to see if there was anything that could potentially pose a security problem. Just out of habit, ya know. He heard someone speaking behind him and pivoted slightly to see Sky.
"Hey Sky," he greeted his own employee, with a smile. "It's going all right, you know, just... voting." Well wasn't that obvious, Wes. Oh look, Emily was here too! And Roxanne... and Isobel... who technically weren't his employees anymore, but were still MLE people in his eyes.
Nice decorations, HAH. Wes let out a snort at that one. "Yeah, Roxanne. I don't know how they expect us to vote if our eyes bleed out before we even get the ballot." Those curtains were hideous. He was tempted to charm them a less offensive color, like blue, when he got his wand back... but then would that count as tampering with elections? Hmmmmm.
"Morning, Iz," Wes also greeted his wife with a wink. Heh. Long time no see.

Alexandria decided against entering the polling area before heading down to the Space Chamber. Knowing what she knew about Ministry employees, they likely would have voted before starting their shifts which meant extensively long lines in the morning. Instead she opted to go vote during her mid-morning break, after checking on the models.
She didn't have any children at present, but she did have a sister employed at Hogwarts and she had another sister who had two children. And even if Pao had withdrawn from Hogwarts after his first year, that didn't mean the same would be for TiaMarie.
Removing her wand and identification, she presented it at the long wooden table waiting to be checked in. Surely this voting thing wouldn't take too much of her time. She had models and space experiments to return to . . .

Heading over to the voting area meant seeing people. He wasn't prepared for that. Didn't they know that he needed more notice than this. The ministry debates had forced him to talk to one too many people and he liked to think that he was still recovering. Not to mention that Level wide meeting.
Definitely. Too many. People.
This was why he opted to get there when most of the rush would have already died down. Less people to smile at and far less people to not appreciate him for all he was; all his brilliance.
He was more than a little apprehensive disappointed when he saw that so many people were still there. He just wanted to vote and leave...but he'd be the odd one out if he didn't say hello...wouldn't he. SIGH. He looked around at the others there and gave them a nod and something that could be mistaken for a smile if you turned all the lights off and remained blindfolded. That was hello. Couldn't they tell?

"Hello Roxanne and Isobel." hadn't seen Roxanne much since she left DMLE to go to the DERP squad. Not that, that was a bad thing... She hoped she was enjoying the environmental protection department.
Nice decorations? She let out a laugh as she heard Wes. "Who would pick such horrid decor?" Pink was fine sometimes in moderation. But for an election wasn't blue or red the colors normally used? Or black. They were much better colors in her opinion...

Quite frankly, Cora wasn't really sure why she decided to vote. She hadn't ever attended Hogwarts, so why should she bother? Still, it was kinda cool to hear about and stuff, so she'd paid attention somewhat, and voting was totally a big important thing back in America, so why not vote here too since she was able?
So here she was. Cora beamed at all the other employees also in line while she waited, then handed over her wand and identification once she'd reached the front. Then she took them back plus a ballot slip, and made her way into a booth. It wasn't long until she was back out once more and submitting her ballot. And then she continued on, heading back for level 3.

At least they got a hour of break that they could use to go and vote. Jade Gemstone walked into the voting booth. She was inexplicably nervous but she figured that it was her first time participating in a British election of some sort. There was the tiny matter of her not knowing most of the candidates except for Roxanne and her own boss, 'Thea. That done-- she returned to the table and submitted her ballot. She gathered her things and said a quiet "thank you" and "goodbye" (no reason why not to treat them with respect--they must be sitting here for hours already), before heading back to level three and her work.

Charely calmly stood by the tables where he was awaiting his turn to place his vote. This was somewhat personal for him, since after all he had his son transfer to Hogwarts this term and he himself had graduated from it long ago.
He had his wand and identification card at the ready, and handed them over as soon as he was up front. Then he received his ballot slip and his belongings back before going to vote.
Charely's choice(s) didn't take him long to decide, and just as quickly and calmly, he exited after submitting his ballot with a "Thank you" and "Good day".

"Have a great day and vote wisely." he said guiding him towards the polling booths.
After that he pointed to the ballot box where he motioned for the guy to put the finished ballot in.
Making his way to the atrium, Kennedy nodded a greeting nod at his co-workers as he passed them. This was his first time voting and the nineteen year old took it serious. As much as he'd like to think of himself as young, he looked at this voting in the perspective of an adult. Like the really old adults. For example, his godfather. A bunch of kids the man had, and so many decisions to make.
All in all, Kennedy was also thinking of the future. Many kids would come and go into Hogwarts, and some day - Merlin forbid anytime soon - his children would too. Kennedy didn't like thinking of that - becoming a father some day, it made him jittery - but the talk he had with both his father and godfather - a heated talk at that - he knew his responsibilities in the Wizarding World.
So, without another thought, besides on who he was voting for, Kennedy stepped up, presented his wand and identification, and voted. With a tiny smirk, he turned in the ballot and made his way back to the second floor.

So finally it was election day. Or as Lourdes would place it as 'the moment of truth'. The department head went to the Atrium to see everything... different. It was giving out some sort of serious aura than the normal ballroom it used to be. She waited patiently in line for her turn to present her wand and identification. When it was finally her turn, she gave the man in front (the one she was able to meet when she went to visit the Minister last year) a smile as she presented her wand and identification. Once she was finally checked in, she went to one of the booths to vote.
...
Alright, that seemed like a good set of candidates for her. She went over to slip her ballot inside the ballot safe. After that, Lourdes proceed back to her level, Games & Sports, and straight to her office.

Finally all this election business would be done and over with, it was a pain to go back to Hogwarts earlier in the year to teach unwilling kids about the process. Now he'd have to go through the same process himself. He looked around the Atrium to see if he spotted anyone familiar. But he saw no one of the sort, no Derek, no Jade, he saw a YATI from his department, but had yet to introduce himself to the guy. So instead he waited, and waited, and waited, and almost dozed off standing up, and waited...until it was finally his turn up. He presented his wand and when he was cleared to vote he filled out his ballot, stuffed it into the ballot box, and went back to work.
Kylie walked into the voting booth. She was inexplicably nervous but she figured that it was her first time participating in a British election of some sort. There was the tiny matter of her not knowing most of the candidates except for maybe Roxanne who she had seen once or twice. But she did do her homework and had found out information about each of the candidates before coming so she was fairly certain about who she would be voting for.
She stepped up to the table and handed off her wand and identification card. Once the man handed her the ballot slip, she headed over to one of the odd colored voting booths and marked her choices.
Once done she returned to the table and handed in her ballet and said "Thank you and have nice a day." Not time to go back to work.
