Though, this was his office and either way, he needed to wait himself. Claus ran his life to reach the door and knock twice. That would be enough, right? Especially when they're already starting. And he also hoped with his life that they're just on the first part of the meeting.
Hearing another knock on his office door, Alexander glanced in that direction and frowned. He'd been Minister for quite a while, but even that couldn't prepare him for the number of visitors he saw on a daily basis. Sometimes, even the Minister wanted to kick his feet up and casually read the Prophet.
"Just a moment, please," he said. "I'm with someone." Weren't the Undersecretaries meant to be seeing visitors before they arrived to him? He tried to remember if he'd called someone in, but no one came to mind.

The moment he heard the Minister's words, Claus was startled. Would he be in any more trouble, now that he'd only come back? Will he be fired due to his long vacation? But he was on leave, right? And he had all the rights to file that leave.
Were they starting now? Or was there no meeting at all? Was the one who informed him about the meeting, was only making fun of him? Was he being fooled? OH no! Why couldn't he be that good in Legilimency? The reason why he should have enrolled that course in the first place. He couldn't just go back to his cubicle. He'd already knock. He slouched his back and waited for the Minister's cue for him to enter.
Alexander said nothing as the woman made her way to the seat she was offered. She seemed nervous, although, he couldn't for the life of him figure out why. Since he'd become Minister, people tended to be nervous around him. He wasn't really that intimidating, was he? He just expected people to do what they were meant to do and live up to the potential saw in them when they were hired. That was all.
He listened to her then finally grinned as she mentioned his wife's Potions class. "I'd imagine you did take good notes," he said. Then with a smirk, he added, "She'd have hexed you otherwise." It was an amusing thought anyway. "Good. Good to hear that you come with excellent note-taking skills. I require all my Scribes to." He wouldn't tolerate someone who couldn't keep up.
"Are you fresh out of school?" he asked.
Kyleigh almost faltered at the question but smiled and with a slight shrug she spoke. "I'm well, I'm fresh out of university but I recently graduated from Hogwarts about three - four years ago" she smiled softly.
When he added the line that he required all scribes to come with excellent note taking skills she couldn't help but chuckle. "I would hope so a scribe who couldn't take notes would be rather a worthless venture would it not?" She smiled, almost cheekily.
"Thank you sir, again for your time" politeness yes, but now she was being more confident and less little miss humblegirl. Pfft. Yeah it was like that one time her great grandmother called her little miss humbledore. She didn't get it and still didn't...well, she had been wearing a long white beard she'd found in the attic. It was dress up featuring cobwebs and dust mites.

Alexander paused and listened for a few seconds. There was no sound at the door and no movement from the other side, so he assumed his message had been heard. He listened for a second longer then turned back to the young woman across the desk from him.

"Ahh," Alexander said, nodding just once. "You'd know my daughter then. Sierra Greingoth?" He raised his eyebrows, waiting for recognition to dawn on the young woman. A proud father, he was. "Very well then," he said, folding his hands on the desktop in front of him. "Fresh out of university just means you're well up to date. Perfect. I'll expect highly of you then."
He grinned at her comment about a scribe who couldn't take notes. "I won't argue with you there," he said. It seemed like she was getting ready to leave now, which was just fine seeing as someone else seemed to be on the other side of the door waiting for him. "If that's all, Miss Manning, I believe I have someone waiting for me. Do tell them to come in on your way out, please, and stop by if I can do something else for you."

S-sierra Greingoth? Oh Merlin? No wonder she was never really called out in Lafay's class except for being a model citizen? She smiled, the realization was of course there.
And the poor girl nearly tripped as she stood up.
"Well, thank you again Minister Greingoth for your time - and I will be sure to let them in" she smiled softly. She nodded to the minister and ducked towards the door, opening it up she smiled to Claus. "The minister will see you now" she smiled as she ducked through the door and held it open.

The man almost fell down when a girl pushed open the door while he was leaning on to it. Very unethical Clausee. And he was even startled to see the lovely Kyleigh Manning and yeah, he'd heard a lot of things about her. With that beautiful face, who wouldn't dare to look at her? He could stay right here FOREVER. But then he realized he needed to see the Minister. Ooops! The meeting. So, there wasn't a meeting because Miss Manning in here wasn't a Ministry advisor nor did he heard any promotions from Level One. He was in big trouble now, one for crashing at the Minister's Office and two, for being late into a meeting that doesn't even exist. Oh, Elmo Claus.
He immediately took a step backward to give Miss Manning the way out of the office, took a deep breath and head on to the office door. Smiling a little, like what he did on his interview before he was accepted in here, he paid his greetings, "Good day, Minister. I hope you're having a wonderful day." He stood in front of the man who wore his suit just a little bit formal than Claus. he couldn't blame him, he's the Minister and Elmo Claus' only a Ministry Advisor.

Alexander smirked as the young woman headed for the door. Of course she'd tripped. She was just the type to do so. He didn't laugh out loud or call attention to it, though. He wasn't that cruel. The smirk, though, he hadn't been able to help.
"You're welcome, Miss Manning," he said. "Try and have a good day." He turned his chair toward the door, looking to see who his next visitor was.

Again, Alexander smirked. This time at the commotion at the door. This newest visitor had almost fallen, which lead him to wonder--what in Merlin's name was the deal with the employees falling and stumbling while coming in and out of his office? He shook his head, unable to make sense of it, then glanced up again.
"Ahh," he said, nodding his head. "If it isn't our recently returned Ministry Advisor. Tell me, Claus, how was your vacation?" He gestured for the man to take a seat. No, Alexander's day wasn't going that well, but he'd never let on. His wife as dying, and therefore he was dying inside. On the outside, though, he'd never show a sign.

He smiled at the mention of his name, the Minister remembered his name even he was gone for a long time. And he was very thankful that the leave was granted. He had the best day of his life. A vacation with the most important people in his life, of course his family. He knew every man put their priorities with their own families and so, before starting any kind of business talks, Claus would like to ask the Minister first if he was doing well.
"It was a blast Minister," he answered the question with a smile. He was here for the meeting which he just found doesn't really exist, so, he might just reason about reporting back to work. "I heard, you're..." He wanted to brush the personal things about the highest man at the Ministry but hesitated. Instead, he divulge in a different path. "...aaah, I heard you lost an Undersecretary Minister."

Alexander caught the man's smile and gave him an upward curl of the lips in return. "Well, it's good to hear your time off went well," he said. The look on his face fell for just a moment, as he thought about his time off with his dying wife, but then he recovered again a second later.
He raised his eyebrows in expectation when the man started his next sentence. He'd heard he--what? Ahh, the Undersecretary position, although something told Alexander the ending of that sentence didn't go as originally planned. "That I did," he said, "but we've hired someone new for the position. My good friend, Mr. Ian Amoroso. As a matter of fact, would you..."
He stood from his seat and gestured toward the door. "...like to meet the man now? I hear he's throwing a...party...in my break room." Alexander was all for parties and get togethers, but...on your first day? Really, Amoroso? He grinned and shook his head just thinking about it. He and Amoroso in one office--would it ever really be the same?
