Roxanne nodded, "Why'd you quit it then?" not to pry, but she was a little curious. Then again, if she had liked her job, then quit; why did it make a difference if this woman liked her job then quit it?

Roxanne chuckled, "Still pretends he's a monarch." she replied, "I might as well buy him a crown and golden throne. He's healthy and well, though. Might be getting a little chunky because he's lazy, but he's doing great."

How interesting. It was rather ironic how she ran into a woman who had at one point knew her cat. She wondered if Lycander would remember the woman. She'd make a point to take advantage of the inevitable 'take you pet to work day' and introduce them again.

"Do you have a pet, then?"

It wasn't a universal rule, but Roxanne found that usually if you liked animals you had at least one.

Caitlyn's eyes sparked with excitement when her new job was mentioned. It felt like just yesterday when she got her letter from the ministry. She smiled excitedly and straitened her back.

"I work with the ghosts. I am the person who sustains the connection and communication between the spirits and the Ministry. I will get sent out to meet with different spirit groups. Obviously I find ghosts interesting. It kinda comes with the job." She jokingly shrugged her shoulders and laughed. After she got talking to Felicity she started feeling much more comfortable with her.

A woman gave him a smile and made him feel slightly better, he looked to the desk she had motioned to and placed his bag on it.
'T-thanks.' He said, feeling like an idiot. Full grown "dangerous" animals he could easily deal with, but a normal conversation with some adults, of course not! He coughed, 'I'm Noah... Noah Dawson.'

That sounded alright, didn't it? He gave the others a shy smile, hoping the embarrassment would end soon.

Olivia made her way to the cubicle area. Stopping for a minute, she allowed her hazel eyes to take in the sight. This was going to be her work area. Where she would interact with her new co-workers and hopefully magical creatures. She stepped over to an empty cubicle and set her hand bag down.

This was in need of some decoration, but it would have to wait until the next day to bring stuff from home and maybe buy a thing or two to make her area feel a lot more comfortable.

Was everyone here new or was she the only one?

Felicity started a little at her question, but regained her composure quickly, "Oh I just needed something new, I guess." she said matter-of-factly. She tried to avoid bringing up bad memories, this women didn't need, and probably didn't want, to know her whole life story.

She lightened up again at the image of king Lycander sitting on his throne, letting out a laugh, "I'm glad to hear it, well at least he's well fed." she said with a smile. It would be great to see him again some time..

Oh they were on to one of her favorite subjects, animals. "Yes I do, his names Xavier, he's a great horned owl, he has brown and orange feathers, bright yellow eyes. I've had him since I was just eleven years old."She smiled to herself at the memory of walking through Diagon Alley for the first time, Xavier's cage in hand. "He's getting a little old though." she said with a chuckle.

"That really does sound interesting, I guess I never really thought about that before.. that ghosts need to talk to the Ministry as well." she said thoughtfully, but something had caught her attention..

"A spirit group? As in a group of ghosts that live" well technically she supposed they weren't living.. "stay in the same area, or do you mean they're actually different types of spirits?" she hoped the women wouldn't mind all the questions, Felicity was just curious.

The man set his bag down on the desk, Felicity gave him a puzzled look, she didn't bite.. Changing back to her normal features she answered, "..Pleasure to meet you Noah, I'm Felicity, Felicity Mclouhglin." her slight British accent coming out. Ok this was work, but she couldn't help it.. "Please, just call me Lis" she whispered with a laugh.

She looked at the shy man a moment longer deciding it would be best to start a conversation, that always helped her. "So.. Noah, what do you do here?" she asked with a light smile.

Noah turned around to hear the woman talking to him, maybe things would be less frightening once he had met those people. It was always like that, he was just the quiet one at Hogwarts, but he had some friends. Noah just hated having to meet new people. What if they thought he was dumb for not being able to keep up a normal conversation?

'Hi, Felicity- Lis.' He stammered, blushing furiously at his stupid mistake. He smiled at the mention of what his job was, that he was sure to love. He felt his confidence grow, he could easily talk about animals and magical creatures all day long. 'I'm an officer for larger creatures. What do you do..?'

Roxanne nodded slowly, "Yes, I suppose we all need something new every now and again." it seemed to her that Felicity might be holding something back, but who was she to push it? She flashed a quick smile towards the woman, yes, she'd better leave it alone for now. Maybe if they ended being friends she'd have the right to ask about her backstory.

Roxanne laughed, "Yeah, he's well fed alright... Maybe sometime I'll bring him to work. We are in the magical creatures department, I wonder if they allow that..." it was something to check up on.

She grinned, "He sounds lovely. I bet he's a real sweetheart!" It was a simple guess, for all she knew Xavier was a spoiled brat or a nasty old codger-y bird. However, it seemed that Felicity was more the type to have a sweet, loving pet.

Kade slowly walked into the room full of work cubicles. He wasn't nervous, no. Just skeptical. The department didn't bother him at all. It's just the people. He wasn't people person, one would say. But once he meets someone he likes to hang with, he will open up, slowly. He swooshed his hair, and placed his hands in his pockets.

Turning briefly from Felicity, Roxanne watched as yet another co-worker entered. She grimaced as he flipped his hair. She supposed it was his decision to swoosh his hair or not, but it seemed girly to her. In her mind, men shouldn't flip their hair, it just wasn't manly. Like, at all. It wasn't even the girliness that bugged her all that much. It was that they did it constantly almost every two seconds and it was distracting.

"Hello," she said, twitching up one brow.

She might as well meet some other co-workers. It was supposed to come in handy later on.

Katalin saw a girl flipping her hair, she was wondering if she was a veela like her. She watched her and then went back to her paperwork.

Kade turned, smirking slightly at the woman. He could tell that something about him bothered her. He bowed lowly to the woman. He gripped her hand gently and kissed it. "Hello, Madame."

"Uh... right." Roxanne tugged back her hand and wished she could go wash her hands. Maybe she shouldn't have decided to talk to this man. First the hair, then he smirked, and just seconds ago he decided to kiss her hand. For some reason she wanted to slap this guy.

She cleared her throat, "Right. Well, I'm Roxanne. I'm one of the dragon officers." Yes, pretty boy. She dealt with fire-breathing lizards. Don't mess with her.

Kade, placed his hand behind his neck and stepped back slightly. Yeah. He totally messed up his chances of being friends with this woman. "Nice to meet you...I'm Kade.."

He honestly didn't know what job he got. But he was sure that he'd be working in the beasts division.

Roxanne narrowed her eyes slightly, taking in his body language. Now she felt a little guilty. But not guilty enough to apologize. She bit her lip then said, "It's nice to meet you as well, Kade..." what and interesting name. She'd run across odd names before, but this didn't really seem odd. Just... interesting.

"Did you have a previous job before this?" she questioned briskly, deciding to just move on from whatever brief hostility she had exhibited.

"Well, I worked on a reserve, if that counts with your counter..." He shifted slightly, and decided then that he wasn't going to make any friends here. Roxanne seemed to want to get away.

Maybe his politeness was just over the top here. Leaky Cauldron here I come, he thought to himself. Might as well eat and stay there. His home was quite a distance from his new job.

Roxanne sighed regretting ever opening her mouth. "Look, I'm... sorry, I guess. I've had a bit of a stressful day and, even though I know it's insane, I get irritable when I don't get enough coffee and I haven't had any today. I'm usually more... hospitable than this."

Bloody conscience. It wasn't so horrible that she was apologizing, but it still irked her that she had let her bad nights sleep and lack of caffeine make her lash out at an innocent, if not slightly irritating man.

Kade had heard the sigh and looked up slightly. He smiled slightly, as he considered all of these things. "It's okay..." He was surely getting her coffee every morning.

Maybe she wasn't so bad after all. And maybe there was, in fact, hope for him and his friend making. Now that he had studied the ways of this young woman, he could making sure not to get on her inhospitable side again.

Roxanne let slip a semi-rueful smile, "Shall we start over?" she asked, raising a single brown brow, her expression slightly warmer than it had been.

She held out a hand for the man to shake, "I'm Roxanne," she tilted her head, wondering if he'd play along.

Kade's eyes lit up, seeing the smile and nodded gently. "Absolutely." He chuckled softly, happy that they would be able to erase the past and start over. And who knew. Maybe she'd help him find the girl of his dreams.

Kade gripped Roxanne's hand firmly, but not so hard it would break her hand, and shook it gently. He flashed a humble smile. "Nice to meet you, Roxanne. I am Kade. And don't worry. I won't ever call you 'Roxy'." He could tell by the first round that she wasn't that type of girl.

Roxanne's smile grew ever so slightly, "It's nice to meet you as well, Kade. Thank you, I'm not very fond of that name." How... cordial. Interesting.

She almost wanted to ask him about what he had said about his past job, but of course they were starting again, so she couldn't. "Why sir," she said, twisting her Gaelic accent to sound English, "What a firm handshake!" Her mind, having gone almost blank, substituted actually conversation with the start of a bit of banter. She wondered briefly how he would respond to banter. She found herself rather liking him, but that would probably change slightly if he didn't have a sense of humor.

Kade chuckled. He was glad that Roxanne seemed to like him better this go-round. "You are certainly welcome, Roxanne." He nodded softly.

"Why thank you, Madame!" He chuckled softly. His North American accent transforming into a almost perfect English accent. He smiled, bowing as he took off his invisible top hot. "And my goodness! Me, Madame," He looked up at her smiling, "This Department is going to have to back away. Your Dragon skills are going to rule over all!" He liked Dragons, but he hadn't had enough training to deal with them.

Roxanne bit the inside of her cheek to keep from laughing, it would ruin the charade. "Quite welcome, good sir." she replied demurely. She couldn't however, keep the smile off as he tipped an imaginary top hat. What a strange man! "Oh, I'm not dangerous," she remarked daintily, "and I have no intention to 'rule all'. No, I think I'll just let the big-shot over achievers rule all." This was partially true. She had no intention of 'ruling all' but she certainly wasn't going to step back and let others do her job for her! And she was still slightly angry that she had been made a junior officer just because of her age. She wanted to climb the ladder a little bit, at least.

Felicity noticed him blushing as he stammered on her name. He reminded her of this old friend she had at Hogwarts, really quiet, shy, but the nicest person ever. She smiled, she seemed to be doing a lot of that today, but it was good to be friendly right? she pushed a piece of hair behind her ear, "Don't worry, Felicity works too. Just.. don't call me Felix." she said it jokingly and with a small laugh, but she meant it.

He seemed a little more sure of himself when she mentioned work, she nodded her head "Really, that sounds like a great job, so you get to work with animals like.. hippogriffs and unicorns? " she had really wanted to work with large animals, but she just didn't have enough experience. She looked at the man, or rather boy, again, wondering how much experience he could have had. He looked much younger than her at least five years younger, probably only 19 or 20. Right, her job, she flashed a quick smile, "Oh, well, I'm the officer for import and export of magical creatures, so no one can transport anything too dangerous or illegal into the country." Or at least if she did her job well they wouldn't, which of course she would. hopefully

Felicity just nodded at Roxanne's statement, smiling back at her, she would tell her eventually, but she had only known her for what? maybe an hour, or less. But they were going to be working together for awhile.. so she'd sure they'd eventually be friends, or at least on pretty good terms.

Could you bring your animal to work? Felicity wasn't sure. She had been tempted to bring Xavier, but she didn't want to be that weird girl who came to work with her pet owl. She had decided to wait and see if anyone else brought theirs.. "I'm not sure.. but we should look into that, wouldn't it be great if everyone brought their pet to work?" she asked, her face lit up at the idea, that would just make work so much more fun.

Ah Xavier, "Oh yes he really is a sweetheart, but only when he wants to be. He can be pretty stubborn when he doesn't get his way." And he normally does, she can't help it, she spoils him.

"It would be great," she responded, laughing a little. "Maybe we should ask the head sometime." She hoped the head of their department was nice.

Roxanne grinned, "Gotta love animals, eh Felicity? Some people believe that animals are mindless, but they really have a personality, don't they?" She hated it when people underestimated an animals intelligence. Drove her bonkers, it did.

Madeline wandered into the cubicle area, her blue eyes sparkling. Her blond hair sat over her cloak as she searched for her empty workspace.
