"yes that is true, I will keep looking until I find him" katalin told manolo as she thought about the day that she found out about the car crash. |
"Well, I hope you find him." He smiled big at her. Hopefully he didn't make her sad or anything. "I have to go feed the dogs, so I'll catch you later, Miss Katalin." |
A tall, lanky fellow in a dark suit entered the level four work area, a content smile planted on his lips. He was carrying a briefcase as he made his way through the desks, looking for his nameplate where they had designated his desk. He smiled and nodded his head at his new fellow employees, waving a hand once or twice. But his first priority was finding his desk. Charles A. Barlowe - Poltergeist Restraint Officer He smiled and set his briefcase down on the desk, empty except for the standard in/outbox, blank desk calendar and his nameplate. Charles straightened his tie and took a seat at his new desk, excited for his first day at his first job in London. |
Katalin nodded as Manolo left and then she watched another another person she walked towards him when he had reached his desk and said "Hello, I am Katalin Starr I am new too!" |
Making his way back to level four, Charles licked his lips at the strange taste left over in his mouth from the love potion. The effects had not been immediate, but as he walked, he noticed a sudden change in his balance. He grew a little dizzy... No. Not dizzy. He felt lighter. Why, of course he felt lighter! Even his lips floated up into a smile as he made his way over to his desk. He was so light, he misstepped and almost tripped over a chair. Almost as he had done at the Ministry Orientation, when he had met Ms. Danvers. Oh, what was her first name? He furrowed his eyebrows, trying to remember the name of the enchanting woman who had helped him up. The spindly gentleman leaned back in his chair and glared at the ceiling. The woman with the beautiful brown hair, and those sparkling eyes. It was going to drive him mad. But her last name was lovely enough. Danvers, yes. There had to be a way to find out. Charles stared down blankly at the paperwork that sat on his desk now, seeming to engage in it, but instead focused on trying to remember in which department the lovely lady had said she worked... |
Katalin watched as another young man walked into the room, she also laughed when she almost tripped over his chair. She turned round and started to rearrange her desk again, she wanted it to look perfect. |
For anyone! The smell of sandalwood preceded the department head as she strutted through the Magical Creatures work area, her ankle bracelets jingling almost as if warning workers of her presence. She thought it was a genius idea to leave little welcoming gifts for employees both new and old as the ministry had just reopened after a lovely holiday break. And Harmony could think of no better gift than some lovely bamboo and a pocket aura color chart for each employee. Certainly these things would come in handy and bring joy to everyone. The spreading of good vibes wasn't in Skylark's job description but she was clearly a pro. Clearly. |
hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiii :3 Quote:
Hmm. Nose tilted slightly toward the air, Willy padded along toward what looked like a work area. Hooray, desks! He was doing something right. "Ello," he greeted the peaceful looking woman already present. "Are these our desks?" They all had cute little shoots of bamboo on them, aww! He picked one up from a random workstation and tilted it around his hand. "Neato!" |
Quote:
That man! Ah yes, the dragon enthusiast. His aura was glowing, did he know? "Greetings, Mr. Williamson. These are indeed your desks." And she smiled broadly, opening her arms as if embracing the entire space. She was clearly proud of the set-up. And how nice, he was excited about the bamboo. "I suggest naming yours." When he got to his desk, that is. "Living things deserve as much." The department head then headed over to a work-space on her right, ankle bracelets jingling as she went. "And this will be your home in the office. I encourage decorating it with things that inspire you. Sparks creativity and positive vibes." Grin. |

...who apparently already knew his name. William's eyes widened slightly. "The desks are alive?" he continued with the wide eyes and questions. "And how do you know my name, anyhow?" He followed her over to the other desks nonetheless, bringing Joy the Bamboo Plant along with him. Well then. He sat lil Joy on a desk. That was a start. |
Quote:
Were the desks alive? This was quite the question. Harmony looked down at one sadly and trailed her fingers across the surface. "At one time the wood used for these desks was growing and very much alive." And now, not so much. As for how she knew who he was, "As the department head, I make it my business to know names and faces." He was keeping Joy, then? This pleased the red head and she gave an approving nod and a smile. |
Quote:
Uh oh, what had he said? At one time the wood used for these desks was growing and very much alive. Well that was somber. William pulled a serious face and put a hand on his desk too, as if giving it a moment of silence. ......And the moment was up! "OH!" he exclaimed for the second time in the span of a few minutes, "YOU'RE the Skylark! Nice to meet you! I'm William, or Will, or Willy." He removed his hand from the desk and offered it to her to shake. |
Quote:
"Exactly. Seems fitting as plants tend to fill a space with joy. Well, depending on the plant. Nasty things, those carnivorous ones." She didn't have any of those in here in case he was worried. Her expression was somber for that moment of silence but quickly went back to tranquil when the dragon man spoke up again. He was an excitable one, this guy. Harmony approved. "The one and only."In the ministry, that is. GRIN. The red head took the man's hand and instead of shaking, squeezed it three times and then released. She was transferring her positive vibes to him, you see. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Willy." "I was once a dragon for Halloween..." She said randomly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Fascinating creatures." |
Quote:
The one and only Skylark. He grinned back at his boss, even as she did some sort of weird hand-squeeze, and nodded. "Nice to meet you too, Miss? Ms? Mrs? Skylark." He raised an eyebrow as she randomly brought up a dragon Halloween costume...? "Ookay," William replied, his grin starting to feel a little fixed now. "They ARE fascinating, though. They are my favorite." He finally decided to take a seat at his desk and inspect the drawers. Who knew, maybe the last person who'd had this desk had left some money in it? "So where are all the other dragon researchers?" he looked up at the boss brightly. |
Quote:
"Ms. Skylark. Or Harmony, if you want." She understood the use of formalities in the work place but she found that the atmosphere felt much more comfortable and enjoyable when the environment was relaxed, inviting, and friendly. "I gathered as much from your resume." They were amazing creatures, dragons. Capable of such destruction but a wonder to behold. Was it the possible danger that drew people to them or the fact that there was so much to learn from being near something so big, strong, and different from yourself. As for the other dragon researchers, the department was running quite low on those at the moment. "Mr. Knight is our other dragon expert in the department and is in charge of restraint. He's up for his physical fitness exam soon so I expect he's preparing for that among other things." |
Quote:
"Harmony it is then," he nodded politely. It was much nicer to be a first-name basis with your boss. That was how things were done at the dragon reserves, anyway, so that was what he was used to. He smiled at the mention of his resume. Impressive, wasn't it? Heh. "It's pretty much all I've ever done or wanted to do," he shrugged. "I've been fascinated with them since I was a small boy." Who knew why some boys got into brooms and others got into creatures. Eh. Wow, they had physical fitness exams here? William was not a good test taker, but he assumed that would be one test he could pass with flying colors. "Really," he mused. "I look forward to meeting him." Dragon restraint, yeah, he'd done that. Psh. |

Ah yes, love of magical creatures did usually start at a young age. The red head had been known to smuggle numerous creatures into her own home when she was a child. Luckily, her parents found her fascination with them to be a positive thing and encouraged her to keep exploring. "How did you find your time in Romania? I spent a little time there after my university days and I was especially fond of the food." "Really." Nodnod. "I'm sure he'll be equally excited to meet you." And hopefully they got on well because they'd be working together and cooperation in the work place was extremely important. "Well, Willy, I'll leave you to organizing your desk. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to stop by my office. I'll see you at the staff meeting later this week but for now, please fill out the In Case of Emergency forms and I'll be by to pick those up later." |
Her mother had been a hippie herbologist and they had lived out of an RV. That was what William was gleaning from this conversation, though he wasn't surprised or bothered by it in the least. Heh. "I did enjoy it," he nodded. "Anything outside is something I'll like, usually." He had loved Romania, but when he said that, people started to question why he had come back. "Romania's a beautiful place," he had to agree. "Love the food, love the people, love the dragons... but there's no place like home, you know?" He ruffled the back of his head and leaned back in his chair a little. It was nice to know that his boss had visited there. He liked well-traveled people! Right, other guy would meet him soon. Hopefully. This office was way too QUIET right now! "Well, Harmony, thanks. Thanks for the joy." He held up the little bamboo sprout with a grin. "Sure thing." William hadn't noticed the form on his desk til now, but now that he saw it there, he hunched over and started putting in Oliver's name for his emergency contact. No bro knew him like Ollie. Quote:
He sat in his chair for about another five minutes before deciding, eh, he could go stretch his legs and try to find the boss' office. Might be more interesting than staring at Joy for the next forty-five minutes. |
Security on the move Simon made his way into what appeared to be the work area. But even from just inside the entrance, he could see it was broken up. Creatures and plants it seemed were kept together in one space but simply separated by creative planning. It also served to remind him that he needed to deal with another set of employees and another department head for the other side. Probably good for him that the other head was Roxanne Carter. Surely as a former MLEr she would understand the need for the searching and keeping an eye on things and the order from Emily for him to handle it without delay. But that was for later. Creatures was the focus now and the auror set about looking around. Searching for anything out of the ordinary both with eyes and the occasional discreet spell casting. He did his best to not appear intrusive to the workers that might happen to be in the office at the moment while being thorough in the same process. Simon noted the door of the department heads office as well as what appeared to be the room where the creatures...and the mutant were contained. The latter would likely be his next stop. |
