Jack was rather excited about the latest news for the Magical Creatures department. A hike with all his co-workers into a dangerous forrest filled with all sorts of magical creatures. He had been waiting for a mission like this since he came to England and got stuck on just werewolf duty when his expertise is so much more. He entered the office where he had read the portkey would lie and saw a few of his co-workers. "HEY GUYS, EXCITED ABOUT THE MISSION". (He is not full on screaming, just speaking loudly) He was sure more would be arriving shortly. |
Go time in about 12 hours! (give or take some) Quote:

Ella glanced at her watch and addressed the group in front of her. "We've got about ten more minutes until the portkey takes off," she said, pointing to an old raggedy sweater on the floor. That was the lovely portkey. "So, we'll give five minutes to any stragglers we have and then I'll go over some brief rules and information before we head on out." So, hopefully some more people would show up. |
Backpack on his shoulder and his most comfortable clothes on, Derek made his way towards the Magical Creatures... area... place. Why? He didn't know. There were some people talking about this trip to... somewhere to do something and he was surprisingly instigated. Not about meeting the people that were going, but to get to see and know more about creatures and whatnot. This and learning about Herbology were his top priorities whenever he wasn't doing anything Potions-related, because these subjects all related to one another, in his opinion. If there was a chance to learn more about possible ingredients, then he'd do it. Absolutely. So there he was. ... Unknown people... everywhere. Not good. Derek did not appreciate that. So he tried to keep in mind what he was bound to discover and see and... tried his best to forget about all of those people in front of him. Awkward. |
Sorry about her >.< Drumroll pleaaaaaaaaaaaaase. And ENTER! Pregnancy was weird. Er, right. She should say something. Yep. "Er, hello everyone!" she said, trying to smile sweetly while her mind jumped to the word 'goblins', "Sorry about the delay Miss..." What was her name again? "Miss Department Head." She was sure she had known what her name was but eh. Whatever. It would hit her again later and then she could just pretend she had known it all along. Smooooooooooth, she was. The brunette smiled once more before moving off to one side of the group, her eyes casting around at all the people who were going to be going on the field trip as well. She hardly knew any of them. None. NOPE. Although, her brain did seem to recognise some of them from their faces. Hopefully they had a better job at recognising her because, you know, she was fabulous. Hair!flip. She set her backpack down and started rubbing the bottom of her back. Uncomfortable with seeing someone rubbing at their backache? GOOD. |
As soon as she had heard about this mission, Laurel was beyond excited to set out! She wasn't entirely sure if this mission though was going to have anything to do with ghosts, which was what she specialized in. But that didn't mean she wasn't looking forward to getting to spend the day outdoors! For that was something Laurel REALLY enjoyed doing. Actually the weather outside would've been a perfect day for her to take out her dogs, oh how Laurel was missing them already! She would definitely be sure to give them all of the extra spoiled love she could when she got home! Laurel walked into the room where the letter had said to meet up before the mission took off. By the looks of it, it seemed she was one of the last to arrive, Oops! A bright smile plastered upon her sunny face and she waved eagerly,"Sorry, I'm late!" She then added on,"How's everyone doing?" Her blue eyes took a brief scan around the room at everyone who was there. As she thought about it, she didn't really know too many people in her department, which was odd, because she loved meeting people! Maybe after this mission, maybe she'd make a new friend? Who knows! With her rucksack hung over her shoulder she made her way over to a table placing it down. She stretched her arms out a little bit and then looked down seeing her boot was untied. Kneeling down quickly, she tied the laces making sure they were tight enough to untie. |
Text Cut: Miss Ella He ran his hand through his wavy, black hair. "Yeah, yeah! Doing well, indeed. My sister's just staying with my cousin for the summer and it's rather...rather quiet at the house." He said laughing. Text Cut: Derek Manolo nodded in acknowledgement to another person who came in, not wanting to scare the man with an over-enthusiatic "HEY!" which he really wanted to do. Text Cut: Amy/Amelia Ooh, this one seemed as enthusiastic as his inner voice. "Good morning, miss lady." He smiled and held his hand out, "Manolo." Text Cut: Laurel Wow, he was feeling rather social today. Maybe it's because he rarely leaves the house nowadays. He waved to the other woman who entered, "Hey! Doing well, you?" |
well that was definitely more than 12 hours, sorry XD Text Cut: Derek Ella was pleased to see someone that didn't belong to her department show up. A smile lit up her face as the man approached the group. "Good morning, I'm Ella Wellington, the Creatures Department Head." She held her hand out for him to shake and introduce himself, wondering which department he was from. Text Cut: Mrs. Leroy Well, somebody was certainly excited to be here. Amy had always been one of Ella's most... interesting employees. And... she would leave her thoughts at that. "Mrs. Leroy," she addressed the woman by her married name. "I've been your department head for two years now, I do think you should know my name." Think about it, dear. It really wasn't that hard. Text Cut: Laurel And there was the sweet Laurel that Ella was fond of. Always in a good mood, she noticed. "You're right on time, dear, don't worry." They were just about ready to go! Quote:
After glancing at her watch one more time and around the level to make sure no one else was coming, Ella spoke up loud and clear for everyone to hear. "Alright, everyone, listen up! Before we get out there today, we need to go over a few rules. They're pretty basic and pretty simple, but still important." She gave looks to everyone, just to make sure they were paying attention. "First off, we're going to stick together at all times, unless I say so. Don't ever leave the group without my specific permission. Second, have respect for nature and the creatures that inhabit it. Do not attack, provoke, or scare the animals. You are guests in their home, so you may approach them on their terms. Unless, of course, they attack you first, which they won't, unless you disturb them." So, basically, just be smart and you'll keep all your body parts. "Now, if we don't have any questions, I'll need everyone to grab onto this sweater." Ella reached down and grabbed the lovely portkey off of the floor and held it out for everyone to grab onto. "We have just a couple minutes, so if you have any questions, ask them now." |
Derek was expecting that, but nonetheless, he felt extremely uneasy when the Head of Department introduced herself to him in front of all those people. He wasn't sure who was watching, but he KNEW there were people just eyeing them and that gave him the creeps. But he wasn't rude, so... "Derek Meriwether." The 26 year-old shook hands with the woman without looking her in the eyes. "I'm from uh... Accidents and Catastrophes." He added, finally being able to look at her for a brief few seconds. Oh, he had seen the nod the other person gave him, he just... sort of eyed the man back for a second then looked away hoping the awkwardness would leave him. But it didn't. It never did. Staying quiet at all times, Derek just listened and watched from behind everyone else as the Ella woman gave the instructions. Then... well, he had to go forwards to touch the sweater, so he did. But only after some other people had done it as well. Blink. Right. Now to wait, because he didn't have any questions. |
It seemed the longer he was shut in, the more social he seemed to get. He should do this more often. Maybe when one of his grandparents big rich people parties were coming up he would shut himself in for a week so, he'll actually be social at those things. Anyways, it was clear that he wanted to get started on this super rad trip. Manolo grabbed a hold of the sweater. Oooh, soft. |
SPOILER!!: bosslady "Definitely!" Hershey was practically about to run outside herself and down the streets of London, but that would only land her in some Muggle institution for the mentally challenged. So, that wasn't such a good idea. "This is a really AWESOME IDEA, Ms." And she was READY TO GO. And taking notes. As Ella spoke to the whole group, she nodded along and committed everything to memory. Then she held on to a sleeve, tightly. She'd never been too interested in port keys, she always thought she was going to fall off and end up in some middle space world where all the socks go after they disappear. Scary. |
SPOILER!!: Manolo Laurel smiled at the younger guy, who did have an interesting face. She then nodded,"That's great to hear! I'm doing great thanks!" Laurel smiled again before offering her hand for a shake,"I'm Laurel!" She definitely didn't know him, otherwise she would've been able to put a name to that face! SPOILER!!: Miss Ella Laurel smiled almost immediately hearing the voice of the head of her department. She met eye with her and felt relieved when she heard that she wasn't late at all. "What a relief then!" The 23 year old giggled a little bit as she began to listen to Ella address everyone that was going. As she was speaking to them, Laurel found herself nodding every now & then listening to her instructions. Although when she told them that they'd be sticking together at all times, Laurel did frown a little bit, kind of hoping that she could get to venture out on her own. But, Ella was the boss, so Laurel knew better than to cross her! So she'd just have to contain herself..and try to be keep her curious mind at ease! When Ella asked if anyone had any question Laurel bit her lower lip as she pondered that for a moment. She then shook her head saying,"Hm...No..Nothing that comes to mind at least.." Before she knew it, Ella had then pulled out the portkey sweater everyone would be transporting with. Without hesitation Laurel moved beside Ella grabbing onto the sleeve of the sweater. She then said a little eagerly,"This is so exciting!" |
Jack's eyes popped open as he saw the head of the department was now there and he felt so excited that they would be leaving soon. It was not long before his boss was laying down the rules and he was a little bit surprised. He thought they would be capturing dangerous creatures but it seemed they were just going on a hike amongst a variety magical creatures. Jack's smile waned. He quickly spoke up, "So, are you saying we are observing magical creatures that are in their natural habitat to learn how they function in their own habitat. I was kind of thinking of something a bit different but this is still pretty awesome. By the end of this trip I should better understand the mannerisms of different magical creatures. That could be quite useful." Jack grinned again, this was not what he expected but thinking about it still seemed just as fun. |
Cole greeted back as the work area begin to fill and more hello's were thrown his way. So far so good. He nodded at the instructions when Ella began to explain. Simple enough. The excitement in the room was almost tangible - or maybe he felt it, because it was basically vibrating out of Ms.McKenna. He resisted the urge to say anything about it and instead followed the instructions and held the sleeve at once. |
Sorry about the long wait! Schedules have been crazy! Let's gooooo! Text Cut: Derek Text Cut: Hershey Text Cut: Laurel Their enthusiasm was fantastic, especially these two. Well, Ella was glad they were excited. SHE was excited too. "I'm certainly glad you think so." Otherwise this wouldn't be much fun, would it? Text Cut: Jack "That is exactly what I'm saying, Mr. Berusen." Ella nodded at him, glad that he was understanding the meaning of this trip. She was going to comment more, but it was just about time to leave! Ella could feel the portkey start to take off. "Everyone hold on tight and don't let go!" she said excitedly. Within the next moment, they were all lifted up off their feet and headed right for the Newborough Forest. OOC: You can find the Newborough Forest thread HERE. You don't have to post in this thread first, sending your charrie off with the portkey, since we're a bit delayed, but you are certainly more than welcome to! |
Magical Creatures. Julia walked in with her backpack on her shoulders. She wore a casual attire and with her wand in conveniently in her pocket. Leisure or no leisure, wand at the ready. She spotted some people in there, clad with backpacks, waiting to leave. She didn't know any of them, ofcourse. She hadn't been to many departments before, save Mysteries Dept, where she worked before. She waved and nodded to whoever caught her eye. |
Jack excitedly grabbed a hold of the sweater and felt himself lifted off the ground and transported away from the familiar to presumably the forest of their magical creatures trek and it felt great. |
Katalin was at her new desk adding pictures of her children, she was starting her new job as a house elf consultant. |
Manolo walked over to his locker, opening the lock from afar with a wave of his wand. He took off his coat and stuck in there, catching the new girl sitting at her desk. Closing his locker, he walked over. "Hey!" He said, extending his hand out to greet her. "Welcome to our really cool department! My name's Manolo. Manolo Black." |
Katalin looked up when she heard a new voice, she smiled as he introduced himself so she said "Thank you, I am Katalin Trigwell! I am the new house elf consultant!" She was glad that she was going to make a new friend of her first day. |

"That is really nice of you, I have a house elf at home called Dahlia! That sounds like a very interesting job!" Katalin told Manolo as she finished placing all her photos on her desk. |
He loved his job. Sometimes more than food and that was pretty important too. "Yeah, it really is!" He noticed her adorable set of pictures on the desk, "Is this your family?" |
"yes there are my children and my husband who sadly passed away six years ago!" katalin told manolo as she give him the pictures to look at. |
He smiled as he looked at her pictures. He'd like to have some children of his own someday, but that will be awhile down in his future. He frowned slightly at the news of her husband, "I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my father about 3 years ago." And his mother even though she wasn't technically dead, she was dead to them. |
"thank you, I would love to find someone else and start a family"katalin told manolo, she had never anyone that before and so she said "I am sorry for your loss too!" |
