Slowly, the room filled in with people and Cole was genuinely shocked with the amount of people willing to risk their heart for this experiment.
More of a shock was when a certain someone walked into the room. At first, Cole wasn't even sure it was her - it had been how many years now since he had been at Hogwarts?

She worked here? His brow rose, and was about to do this experiment as well?
Before he could be delighted, with all this new information - Isobel started speaking and Cole turned his attention to her.
Oh, he was getting money as well? Nice. He heard the whole thing with full concentration - his head slowly turning to see Alex in between Isobel's pauses.
When Isobel stopped, and everyone waited for more information to come in - Cole finally caught Alex's eye.

Maybe she needed to stick with conversations with a ten year old, because that's what she was use to.
Merlin no?? Was it that bad.. Vic's stomach flipped a bit. She had never volunteered for anything before, so why did she have to pick this specific one to be her first. She continued to fidget with the uneaten muffin as she looked around. Eyes darting around the room again. She loved to people watch, but today it was just making her nerves worse. Giving a nervous chuckle she nodded, "Yes I guess I am... I'm not sure what got into me to do this, but I'm here if nothing else." Taking a sip of her coffee she turned "So before all this starts.. Tell me did you help make it then? I guess I asked Gavin the same question, but you two are the only two I know in the department." Actually they were on a small list of the people she knew in the entire ministry. Glancing towards were Gavin was standing she couldn't help but wonder what the deal was with him. He always seemed sweet and nice, but had the opinion that others did not feel that way towards him or maybe he didn't think he felt that way she wasn't sure.
Victoria listened and couldn't help but chuckle a bit. Azazel had always been an interesting one to her. As always it seemed he was here for other reasons than he was saying. So he was actually liking the idea of being here. She was at first, but now that she was here looking at all these people her nerves were getting the best of her. "You aren't afraid of acting like an idiot in front of people with this spell?" because she sure was at the moment. Always professional and keeping to herself mostly and now.. Who knows what she would do or who it would be towards. Who would it be towards.. this made her heart race even more. What if it was someone that turned out to be horrible, or what if it was something she did like and that would ruin things. Her mind went to two different people and she took a nervous breath.
"Why am I here.. good question.." She chuckled nervously. "Well I just wanted to get involved more and volunteered. I guess I should have thought more into it." Because falling in love she did that once and it failed, why would she ever think doing it with a potion wasn't gong to end in a disaster if she couldn't even do it well normally.
As Azazel grabbed a doughnut and couldn't help grinning even wider at Victoria's question. By now he'd gotten good enough at lying to himself and telling himself that there was absolutely no possible way for him to look like an idiot that he actually believed it. "No of course not. What is there to worry about? I think I can handle a silly little potion that all it does is make you feel stuff." It was probably horribly obvious that he'd never been in love or anything remotely close to it, but Azazel was peacefully oblivious. Noticing how she was easily conversing with some people who seemed to be employees he leaned in and lowered his voice slightly. "At least you seem to know some of the employees down here so you can have them keep an eye on you and make sure you don't do anything too stupid."

"I'm very glad that you have chosen to taken part in the testing of Amortentia Number 2. We in the department are very happy to have you." Because they wouldn't be able to do the testing without them. Which was very important.
"The testing will take place in a couple of weeks. I just need to talk you through what will be going on, how the testing will take place. I then need you to sign a couple of consent forms." Because they really could not do anything without consent forms. but that would come at the end of meeting.
"For the purpose of the testing we will be using a pensieve and your memories to gain access to the effects that the potion has on you." Which seemed pretty self explanatory. "As you may or may not know to keep a love potion working it needs to be given a number of times, so to ensure we can get a good idea of the effects of the potion you will be given 5 doses of the potion over a duration of a month." So the testing would take about a month.
"If at any point you wish to withdraw from the testing you are very free, and just need to come and tell me." And she was not going to make any one take part in the testing. "Those being tested upon will also receive 20 galleons for taking part in the testing." Because they were basically letting them mess with them. She took a short pause here, to let the information settle in.
While listening to the woman, Isobel Ferguson, speak Azazel felt very unnerved. He didn't like people poking around in his head even if it was for only a little while. He certainly didn't trust the government to stick only to the here and now even if they only used a pensive. Still leaving now would be a personal failure to him. Then there were the galleons. He was cursed with an horrible urge to spend his money on stupid stuff. So generally he was always in need of money. Time to commit to this horrible idea of his.

Zoe sat quietly for a little while, munching on a pumpkin spice muffin, before she noticed the gentleman she met at the orientation. "Hello there, Azazel. It's a pleasure to see you again." She gave him a smile and hoped he remembered her. He had been quite pleasant to chat with.
Noticing he seemed a bit busy, Zoe started picking the giant sugar crystals off of the top of her muffin while sipping her overly sweetened coffee. She had been thinking about the pensive and what memories would be of help to them. She had experienced such a dull life thus far and no romance to speak of. Hopefully it would still be of some use.
Charles was always far too eager to volunteer for things. It was simply in his nature to always want to try new things, and, until now, he had not known what it was he had volunteered for.
The lanky young man listened intently, his eyebrows rasing at the revelation of the experiment. He had never taken a love potion, but had seen the effects of what a standard dose could do. But this seemed to be a different kind of potion-- After all, they needed volunteers to test it on, no? And he certainly had never come across a person who had five doses of it-- love-struck for a month.
As uneasy as the idea made him, it was dwarfed in comparison by his curiosity and eagerness to subject himself to the test. He said nothing, but looked about briefly at the others in the room, a content and excited smile on his face.

Money for his memories. Eh, fair enough. He'll just send the 20 galleons to Awar for her spending pleasure. He nibbled on his doughnut and looked around. He recognized a few from his department, but not everybody else. Makes sense though, he spent all his time in the break room or with the dogs. Sooo social.

Sky had entered just in time a few moments later Isobel announced that they would be starting soon.
They would be using their memories....okay. The thought of a love potion made her think of Benny. She smiled as she took a blueberry muffin. Plus side to being their lab rat they got paid.

Munching on her doughnut Tasha just sat and waited as more and more people filled into the room and claimed seats. Feeling a hand on her shoulder she briefly looked up at her boyfriend with a curious expression. Why was Dorian there? Had Isobel asked him to volunteer for this testing too? Had Dorian told her that he was volunteering and it had slipped her mind? Or had neither of them told the other they were volunteering because they didn’t think it was important?
Scratching her head Tasha figured she'd talk to Dorian after the meeting was ended, over lunch. Straightening a little in her seat she pulled a blond lock behind her ear as Isobel began the meeting.
The testing would take place under the duration of a month and they’d receive money for participating.
Tasha wasn’t exactly thrilled by the prospect of her sister’s employees dissecting her memories for potion effects but that was the point of the whole testing in the first place.

They were going to look into Saxon's memories!? At first she was so so about that portion of the task. But then she remembered she didn't have many memories that were too personal, or something she wouldn't mind sharing. She had a weird brain and funny memories but nothing she was worried about other people seeing.
The testing would also last about a month, so that would be good. At least it wasn't forever. As well, if at any point, she didn't feel comfortable with this she could just opt out. Which was another good option she liked, so she merely nodded at the person in charge.

"I woulda thought its only the memories pertaining to the actual potion testing." Rusty remarked, hearing some of the other comments and questions. It wasn't like they were granting a free for all messing around in their heads, it was just a way to check up on how they behaved while influenced by the potion. Wasn't rocket science.
And was totally worth 20 galleons.

Okay. Give that a couple of minutes to settle in. Ahh. A question about the memories. "Yes..." She murmured, glancing at Rusty and offering him a small smile. "Only memories related to the testing will be used. After we have analysed them they will be kept locked up for a period of three years. This is protocol for testing of potions." So they better like that. She smiled at them. "After the three year period you can either have the memories returned to you, or they will be destroyed." It was down to them to be honest.
She smiled, picking up the pile of papers. "I just need you all to fill in this consent form. It is magically binding between yourselves and me." She liked magically binding things. "There is a get out clause, obviously. " Because she wasn't forcing people into this. "Please read the form closely before filling it out." She murmured, before handing the forms out.

Ella wriggled so that she was in a comfortable position before all these people came and crowded her personal space. Not her idea of fun. She did listen carefully when Isobel began, and honestly, it sounded a lot scarier than she had imagined at first. Dipping into their memories and such. Goodness. But 20 galleons???!
Did SHE get 20 galleons, too?
Ella scanned her nails as the forms were being handed out. Come to us, victims.

After listening to Isobel once again, Emma couldn't help but raise her eyebrows ever so slightly at the mention of the memories. She glanced at the clock briefly to check the time before her eyes flickered towards the rest of the people in the room. 20 galleons to be tested on.. ? thought the Love Specialist. Hmm, that seemed like a pretty nice deal to her. It was always good to have extra cash on your hands because you would never knew when you would need it.
Ah, now the consent forms were being handed out. The blonde smiled softly.
She took the form and read over it, all of it, carefully and slowly, making sure she didnt need to sacrifice her first born or anything..

reading over the form it seemed pretty standard and all, seemed like it wasn't too big of an issue, so she began to fill it out, all information it required.
Nodding his head in thanks, Charles leaned back in his chair and began scanning over the form, touching his knuckles to his lips in thought. It all seemed harmless enough to him. Harmless and fun, he thought with a smile. Depending on who it was he fell in love with. His own department head, for example-- that would not be fun, most likely. New job and all.
The money was just a plus, to him. Not really that much of an incentive. After all, the moral implications of the test could be argued, with good cause. But he simply didn't see it that way. As long as he didn't go blind or turn into a flobberworm, and so long as he could, indeed, opt out if worst came to worst, he was eager to know the results of the experiment as much as anyone.

Victoria looked at Azazel and smiled, he was so confident about everything. She hoped that wouldn't bite him at some point. No one knew what this potion was going to do so he couldn't just stand there and believe he might not make a full out of himself. "Well I hope you're right. I'm kind of nervous about it. What if I make a total mess out of myself." She did have to work here after the potion was done and over with. "What if we accidentally fall for a department head or something, or even someone married.." She wasn't sure exactly how that potion worked so anything was possible.
Listening to the person talking, what was her name again? She wasn't sure she remembered. Anyway listening to her she still wondered, "After we take the potion how does it work for falling for someone. Like a person we are thinking about, or caring about, or is it someone we look at right after taking it? Plus how quickly do you think it might take effect?" She felt these were valid questions and she was thinking of Charely in the back of her head.
Seeing the paper work Vic gave her signature before changing her mind. She volunteered and she would follow through nervous or not.

Harland's mouth was turned into a sort of slight frown as he listened to the little bit of chatter about memories. How would any memories be helpful to them? Was it not a blind love that amortentia created? One that laid even the cruelest of biases aside to create a delusion that no prior knowledge or thought process could penetrate?
The frown on his marble features became more pronounced as the consent forms were handed out, but there was no turning back now. Even with the frown still evident on his lips, Harland withdrew one of his favorite, jet black, self-inking quills out of his emerald green robes and artistically signed the end of the squabble of paper and words that he had almost no interest in. If he'd said he was in, he was in.

Dorian had caught the little confused expression Natasha had sent up at him in response to his nudge. It was either that or his verbal greeting to Isobel, but either way, the meeting had gotten underway before he could answer any unasked questions. There was even a question as to if those would even be asked, or if she’d lapse into silence out of being disappointed that he hadn’t discussed this with her. For his part, he could have been bothered by the fact she hadn’t told him either, but then he hadn’t really been all that sociable after the orientation anyhow. The blame could possibly be all put on himself, and he kept contemplating that even as the discussions had continued around him. Pensieves, payments, consent forms; all those topics had registered in his mind but he hadn’t commented on them. There were much more important matters in his mind currently, not the least being the blonde still standing next to him. The only concern was if the Mysteries employees would be able to only extract the memories related to potion effects, seeing as there were still certain memories he hadn’t felt like revealing to anyone just yet and he wasn’t certain that the extracted memories might get into others’ hands.
That may have just been MLE paranoia, or remnants of the paranoia from the past the still was keeping close to his chest even though a summary had existed in his personnel files. Either way, he’d continued to stay silent even as those questions that had been asked had been answered by Isobel herself, although he had to imagine some of the Level 9 employees that were also present could have chimed in as well. Watching them, though, it had looked as if some of the details had even surprised them, which was curious. That observation wasn’t as important as other thoughts, however, and he leaned over to speak semi-confidentially to the department head as she’d gotten over to where he’d been standing with the consent forms. “Just say something if you’d prefer I step away from all this,” he murmured, trying to keep as many people as possible from hearing him aside from likely both sisters. It was a personal matter anyhow, so nobody else needed to know.

Zoe finished looking over the consent form and filled out the parts she needed to before signing. She needed the money and it really did look fun. Figuring that it had to be safe, it was the ministry of magic running it, she was all in.
Feeling her tummy grumble again, Zoe headed over and poured another cup of tea, adding a bit of cream and sugar, and selected a scrumptious looking pumpkin spice muffin.

Saxon took in the consent form to her hand and carefully and methodically looked at every line a good three times. What'd they say in the t.v. shows? Read the fine print? She tried to make sure she got in all the information and answered them to the best of her ability. Yep, it all looked real and seemed like there were no gimmicks in there. After a second or two of staring at the signature and date line Saxon scribbled her name in a very cursive manner and then held the form tightly in her hand. There you go.

As Elinor listened to Mrs. Ferguson -- of course! she remembered, now. Her own boss' wife. As Mrs. Ferguson spoke, the MLE Lab director visibly paled at the mention of love potions. Elinor became very still as she was informed as to exactly what it was she had volunteered for. Oh, dear, the voice in her head began. In recent months, she had taken care to choke out that little voice, the one that reminded her of her paranoia and insecurities. This time, though, that little voice would have some very valid points.
Eyes wide, she looked towards those people who asked questions, equally eager to know the answer, as though they would change her ultimate decision on the matter. But there was one thing, one factor, that had already made the choice for her:

And he came into things for different reasons. The least pressing of which was that she wasn't sure if she would trust a potion made by anyone else besides him. Perhaps he would have smiled at that, if he knew that that reasoning had come into play. The next reason was that she knew how much Nigel was against love potions. There was that one incident... She had dared to ask him to brew some, and he had mistakenly ingested a bit of it. Elinor herself had had to brew the antidote, and had promised to never again mention it.
But Nigel himself was the biggest reason she already knew she was going to turn down the offer. Undoubtedly, in a past life, she wouldn't have thought twice about testing out a love potion. The scientific curiosity aside, it would have been fun. But that was then, that was before Nigel, and although the scientific curiosity was still there, it would be far too damaging to him if she agreed.
The woman looked down at the consent form placed in front of her. Perhaps, if she had been persistant enough, she could have made Nigel understand. But wether it was him or someone else that she fell in love with, Nigel was the sensitive sort. He would be made far too uncomfortable with the prospect. And she knew that if she chose to partake in the testing, Nigel would undoubtedly be hurt.
Touching the paper for the first and only time, Elinor slid the form away from her by a few inches. The scientist was proud of herself. Nigel would probably have been proud, too, to say nothing of relieved and reassured that Elinor did think of him, in everything she did. Or didn't do.

Because well there wasn't much else to do for now.
"I'll be owling you in a few days to organize a morning for you all to come down and have the first potion." She nodded, pushing her seat back and standing up. "Until then...." She smiled at them all before heading back to her office.

She took a short pause here, to let the information settle in.
Alex simply listened to what Isobel had to say, but wasn't really concerned with any of it. She was only here for the food to see who she would be administering the potion too. Was that a COUPLE doing this?! Did they not realize what Amortentia Potion was or what sorts of effects it had?
She couldn't be certain of people's relationship statuses, but the looks they were giving each other.... hopefully they consented with each other first? Either that or they're very .... secure in each other's feelings. Good for them. Maybe they could just use the money so they could finally get hitched. Or grow apart, whichever.

"My work deals mostly with Astronomy. Though I'm a skilled potioneer when I need to be, I didn't help with the making of this potion." That was Evelyn's job, mostly, but she wasn't going to say that. "I'm just assisting in making sure the distribution of the potion goes well." Because things were rather slow in the Space Chamber right now anyway.

Oh, he was getting money as well? Nice. He heard the whole thing with full concentration - his head slowly turning to see Alex in between Isobel's pauses.
When Isobel stopped, and everyone waited for more information to come in - Cole finally caught Alex's eye.

And speaking of distributing the potions, time to look around as more had entered. Or maybe just more she noticed. And one of the victims looking at her ... he was looking at her right? Not Sherman?
Squinting at him, in between listening to Isobel talk about procedures and whatnot, she tried to recall him.
And then .......... OH. Oh. She should have realized it sooner. HOW did she not recognize ....
"Cole Knight." She muttered in an undertone, eyes fixed on him. Had it really been so long? Yet not, because time served him well.

Distracted as she reflected on the fact that Cole was in the same room as her, she barely heard Isobel talk about handing out some sort of waiver. Was Cole testing the potion?! Did he need the money? Did this mean he was still unattached? Probably, if he was testing a love potion. Did he work at the Ministry too?
Oh. Meeting adjourned.
Gathering her papers together, she stood up and nodded to Izzy, half-dazed as she made for leaving the room. She would most definitely be giving Cole the potion. Mostly because she wanted to know where he was working and they totally had lots to catch up on.
