Taking a couple of steps to the side, Emily leant against the wall. More comfortable. "Well, for starters, how sure are you that it's your life that's in danger? Because, if I were psychotic, I'd go for the one person that you cared about in this scenario... your girlfriend... to get to you." No, she wasn't psychotic, but she could think like one, it was part of her job description. "Getting her out of the way would be smarter, win win that way... less so if I'd kill you in a jealous rage." |

That was a good question. How could not he think of it? Well...how could he, anyway, while he had all the other problems and troubles messing with his mind. Merlin! That was a fatal mistake too. Now he was grateful that he had finally decided to ask for help from someone. He could not think everything. Not when the things inside his mind were all so complicated. Plus...he never claimed that he was the smartest person that one could meet. Yet then...she said something that made his insides go cold. Biting, painful ice-cold. She would go for his girlfriend. Merlin! No! No way! He closed his eyes and took in a deep breath to get over the cold shock. He needed to remain collected and deal with this somehow, freaking out over anything was not allowed. ''I can't let that happen.'' so he said ''She can kill me then, i don't care but not her. Not Evelyn. I will NOT let anyone touch her. Should she hurt even a strand of her hair, it would be me this time who would do some hurting.'' |

Emily closed her eyes for a brief moment to mull over her stupidity. Emotional lad, serious situation... and yet she didn't think to make it sound, less unpleasant. "Keep cool Carter," she snapped, before he went into too much detail with this whole lovey dovey thing he had going... hairs on heads, revenge, yikes... "Alright, so... what measures are you taking to protect yourself and... Evelyn." It was always step one, precautions... without that in place, there wasn't much point in thinking about doing anything else. "Do you two have a safe place to stay? Protective enchantments? Alternate identities?..." sure she may sound a little melodramatic, but if Carter thought lives were at stake, then they were warranted. |

Okay...he could go all mad over it when the thing should happen now he had to get his brains back and listen to Emily properly. What measures was he taking? He absent mindedly ran a hand through his hair as he tought of it for a minute. ''First of all, she does not know who she is. She has not seen her before. Of course that does not mean she cannot find out but no one can deny that it could be all worse if she knew exactly who she was. Then...well...we are moving in together. So i will be with her to protect her. We will live in the countryside. An open area with fields and far from the nearest farm. Just near a wide forest. I know the forest so well that i can name every single tree in there. In case of danger we can run into the forest and i can make sure she loses us in there. Plus with all the open field around, it won't be easy to approach unseen even if she finds out where my cottage is. I guess that is safe to a point.'' Were those good enough...he was not sure. He was going to hear Emily's idea anyway. ''However...'' he went on ''If you asked me, i would say that the best defence is offence. Maybe i should simply go to her before she does anything and finish this somehow.'' |

"You know, it's easier to get lost in a crowd, easier to seek help in a crowd... isolation isn't smart, unless you're highly experienced. If this person's as dark as you infer she is, then she'll be able to track you." The training he'd had thus far couldn't prepare him enough to conceal them for long. Surely. "In terms of offence... don't be foolish, don't be reckless... be smart. The worst thing you can do is land yourself in a heap of trouble, Azkaban wouldn't be your friend." And this person would perhaps have contacts on the inside. "Have you considered reporting this person?... Have you collected intel on her? You know... information is worth its weight in gold, and it can be the best offence when making problems... go away." Josh needed to stop, breathe and evaluate... guns blazing, revenge and love were not going to save him. |

''I cannot afford more than where i live.'' he said...which was true. He did not have the extra money to rent a flat or even a room in the Leaky Cauldron to hide in the crowd. ''And i don't want to hide. All i want is to protect my girlfriend, nothing more than that. Call me stupid but i want to do that at my home. She cannot be threat that serious.'' He thought of the woman. Was she really the type to make him end up in Azkaban? Merlin...she was a mother of three and was not pregnant for a fourth kid. Would a mother of four cause him that? No, Josh did not want to report her. Despite the fact that he was in trouble with her, he could not simply hand over a pregnant woman. What would the kids do then? Without their mother. He did not want the kids to be without a mother because of him. ''Emily...i just want...'' he was not sure what he wanted but he definitely did not like the way that it sounded when Emily told him what he was supposed to do to protect himself from her. ''I don't want this to be...a bigger trouble. I am not intending to hurt her, either. I just need to find a way to make her back away, willingly.'' |
Dacs, had enough time to cool out and was glad to be back at work. With her coffee in hand and her bag over her right shoulder she leisurely made her way through the foyer on level 2; her home away from home. She just got back from Russia from shopping and visiting a few of her old squad mates. Lowering her gaze, she looked down at her tan booted feet and steeled herself for what the day held. Dacs knew she had to get back on the 'shop' investigation and hoped she had a full team to work with and not a make shift team with an over zealous prosecutor. If that were the case, everyone would be at her mercy. She checked her watch and wondered who would be in by now. |
These days things at work had been getting seemingly more and more interesting. Which was saying something seeing as the ministry and the magical law department was usually never boring in that respect. And with a high-level case in the works and new YATIs underfoot Simon made sure to arrive at an early yet still half-way decent hour. On the way in he had made a slight detour after getting through security before heading up, stepping inside the lift with a gaggle of people from various department. The only one from Level two, he was on his own as he stepped out, the doors closing behind him after he moved further forward into the foyer, his satchel slung over his shoulder. It was then he spotted a familiar face checking her watch and Simon stepped casually towards her and closer to the entrance of the department. "Good morning." |

She smirked before glancing back and asked,"What's got you in such a chirpy mood?" It was in her nature to tease those she considered more than just coworkers. |

The brand of liquid a good portion of the department lived on. As long as it wasn't from the Level 2 coffee maker seeing as that produced only coffee-scented sludge. Simon himself had never been one to enjoy it too much. "Oh the usual..." he mused with just a touch of jest in return. It wasn't as if the day usually started out bad...but more what happened after one arrived for the day. And he for one hadn't seen either of the ones who made his mood change...yet |
Temperance had been out of the office for a really long time. To her, it had always seemed like she spent a lot of her time in school, or working and for once, she had wanted to do something just for herself. She'd gone on vacation, travelling to many different countries. Better to get it all out of the way at once, Temperance thought. That way she wouldn't be likely to do the same thing again for a long time. She walked down the hallway to the room that held her desk, and wondered how many people would be here that she still knew after she'd taken close to a year off. She'd have a lot of catching up to do, but it didn't mean she'd forgotten how to do her job. She'd learned many things while she was gone. |

"There's been an explosion in the Level 3 Lab. Go check it out, see if you can help, and look for any signs of tampering. Aron thinks it might have been a security breach. Thanks, Wes." His message delivered, the wolf evaporated. ooc: I think they're meeting in the conference room right now, so if you want to go interrupt, please do =D |

The elevator doors opened with their signature soft clattering sound. Laura looked cautiously out from where she stood inside, tin watering can clutched tightly in both hands. Her wandering blue eyes told her that it appeared the foyer was empty, so she proceeded to step out of the elevator. She braced herself so she wouldn't be alarmed when the cool female elevator voice announced tellingly that she was on Level Two. Taking a deep breath, Laura loosened her grip on the watering can and scanned the room again, this time not for the Department's employees, but for the plants. She peered nervously for a moment at the framed portraits on the wall. Would they give her away? Roxanne had said to be discrete. Just quietly water the plants without drawing attention to herself and then get back to Level Four. And that's just what she was going to do. Laura headed straight for the first plant in sight. She brandished her watering can at it, but she couldn't stop glancing every few seconds at the door down the corridor where she knew there must be some kind of receptionist or something. Someone who could give her away at any moment. Laura had no idea how the law enforcement department employees would react to finding her casually watering their lobby plants, but Roxanne hadn't painted a pretty picture in her head. Just pretend you're watering your garden, she thought to herself uneasily. |
Aspen/Touz This was a bad idea. This was a very bad idea. Perhaps, well, um, you see, he should go downstairs and settle this all later. He did not need to engage in human contact. Her letter was just... ...folded up neatly in his pocket and worn from all of the times he had read it. Which was precisely 13 times. Mostly because even numbers were not trustworthy. Oh dear. Maybe he had been misguided in coming here. He was just going to leave. AHH HUMAN HAD JUST WALKED PAST HIM. Ferris was frozen. |

Arresting people in DA had lost some of its luster lately. Besides, Aspen had this other looming thing she had to do... Basically, she'd spent her hours of "down time" at work - literally staring, stalking, and studying Kennedy. Literally. All she did. But she had been expecting Ferris and welcomed his presence. On her way to intercept him, she picked up the apple she'd "found" in the office and took a bite. Chew. Chew. Chew. Aspen wasn't much one for greetings, but as she leaned against the wall in front of Ferris - he'd know she knew he was there. Odessa staring ON. |
Quote:
........also, being frozen, he didn't notice the Odessa eyes being sent his way. |
Oh wow! Jory stared around. The place was amazing! Jory passed the seating area and headed on towards...where was he now? Ah yes. The main entrance to the Department. His Department. The Department he always to join. He stared up at the Portraits of the persons whom he suspected were past Department Heads. Yep, he could see Wes Ferguson's portrait. The man stared down at him as if sizing him up. "Hi, Mr Ferguson,'' Jory said. But he didn't dwell more on the portraits. Time to meet the others. |
