When you step out of the lifts on level 2 you'll find yourself in the main foyer. Theres a nice little seating area where you are more than welcome to relax, but don't loiter with intent because you're bound to be questioned by one of the paranoid, suspicious employees who work on this level. Still its a nice break area, and quite often you'll find people sitting here for a quiet chat or a coffee, though you'll have to find the coffee itself somewhere else.

Further down the wide inner corridor you'll find the bathrooms, a maintenance closet and of course, the main entrance to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. There are portraits all along the wall of former Department Heads, some glower at you suspiciously, others grin at you suspiciously, but they all quite like attention and you're more than welcome to check out the nameplates and say hello.

Damien looked around and gave a nod at both Dacs and that peppy looking chick as he followed Van and sipped at his coffee.

"Can't get rid of this one... I reckon I should tell you. That kid... the Dakest kid. He is staying with me til he gets on his feet. Was apparently homeless after leaving Hogwarts. And if you make one joke about me being a father... or something like that I might have to hex you," he said with a level eye on his friend before the smirk took over.

Ha.

Evander narrowly managed avoiding spitting up his coffee.

"He's... he's enthusiastic, that one." And SO very Gryffindor. There was really NO other way of putting it.

"Is he due here today or is he out training?" Considering their YATI apprentices only worked the MoM part time, the rest of the time they were undergoing their auror training as per the usual way.

Oh lovely. Gone choke on coffee in the foyer. Damien narrowed his eyes for a second and then sighed.

"Yeah. He is. And kind of... wearing rose colored glasses. Which is terrible. I will fix him up though. Reminds me a lot of myself at that age. I think... it's hard to remember that far back, really," he said with a chuckle. He was funneh sometimes.

"Not a clue actually. I probably should have asked, yeah? I am trying to teach him to be... more something," Damien grumbled and sipped at his coffee some more.

"Seems to me, you should know where your team should be at all times." Evander commented in what wasn't quite his Dept. Head voice. To early, not enough coffee to be completely serious about it. He winked at Damien. "Bloody hell, at that age I can't imagine you at all. You probably would have been a Gryffindor yourself."

Thoughtful pause.

"Or a Hufflepuff perhaps. Here, you heard about that ship?" He figured the idea would appeal to his friend. He absently greeted a few of the portraits as they sauntered by.

Yeah. Yeah. He should. It was REALLY early though. And that kid was almost too happy for Damien to stomach that early in the morning. So after a few customary grunts and such he had left out.

Giving Van a nod/shrug combo he looked at the portraits they were passing... until...

Damien broke out in a grin at this. "You know I get the prophet. I am thoroughly intrigued by this ship business. It's an old schooner, yeah? I would love for the babysitter to let us out there and check things out. I mean... that Headmaster dude," Damien chattered on.

Dacs nodded at him and sat down. Of course it was a bit early to go straight to her desk. She pulled out her little black book and a quill and began writing. She always wrote down over flowing thoughts of whatever nature or topics.

"I got the distinct impression that Tate was judging us when we were there, didn't you?" Overblown babysitter had no right to pass judgment on them. And EVANDER wasn't even an auror.

"He's former ITF." That explained a lot. Some of the ITF were great, mostly the ones that came from Hit Wizard or Auror backgrounds, but the others, whew boy did THEY come with a trumped up idea of themselves, particularly if they thought - if they were deluded- that their training was somehow better.

There'd be no chance of Evander joining Yeti-Watchers-R-Us thats for sure. Pshh.

"As much as I know you'd love to go explore the thing, we've got bigger fish to fry." He downed his coffee and banished the cup as theypassed the bathrooms and arrived at the reception

Alicia walked into the foyer finding it very empty she slowly made her way to find where she had to go. Might as well check reception? She thought, as she hugged her arms close to her body. Her portfolio in her hand as it was her first day and maybe taking notes would be a good idea?

The Foyer. Very nice and large. Lovely seats. No one loitering in the area either. Good start - no need to interrogate anyone within minutes of him arriving.

Giving a nod to all the previous Department Head portraits, Gabe greeted them with a "Hello" and carried on walking. More walking. Towards the reception.

With a coffee cup from the Muggle shop she'd visited, Lilyan Moretti made her way down the corridor all determined like. She'd decided not to use the direct floo into Evander's office, and instead, took the scenic route. She continued on almost like she owned the place, in search of that Department Head.

...Did one of those portraits just whistle at her?

It was just fate. Evander had no idea that Lily had come to visit, and the only reason he was currently heading in to the department via the lifts was because he'd just been on level 1. Lucky for him Borr hadn't been there or he'd be in a bad mood.

Lily always cheered him up though and right now was no exception.

He recognised her from behind and grinned as he walked up as quickly as possible. The portraits gave him away, most of them acknowledging him respectfully, a couple of the more old fashioned ones with a bow as he approached.

Lily had paused to look over her shoulder and see if she could pick out which portrait had whistled at her, when she caught sight of the man from the corner of her eye. The other portraits greetings only confirmed it.

"Have you been following me?" She asked, tilting her chin up to eye him. She grinned and held up the cup, "I brought you coffee. It's not as good as mine, but I thought it would do."

"I'd follow you everywhere if I could." Van answered. Hehe. He hadn't been, but he DID like the idea.

"You're a lifesaver, woman." Really. She was. He took the cup and before drinking it he leaned over to kiss her cheek, pulling her in for a one armed hug as he did so.

"I need it intravenously." The coffee. Stressful times. He took a long sip from the cup and sighed. "So, did you just come on a coffee run or...?"

Hmm. Lily didn't get the opportunity to say it, but she rather liked that idea as well. She returned hugs and shrugged, "I was out with Stella, and decided to come by and steal you for a while." That was exactly how it had happened, too.

"Lunch." She clarified, "I'm sure you've heard of it. It's that meal between second breakfast and dinner?" Grin.

"Stella." Right. She was a bit scary that one. "Had fun then, I trust?" He wondered what Stella had put her up to this time. Last time it had involved his teeth.

"You missed out afternoon tea and second afternoon tea, those come before dinner too." Van, big eater that he was, pointed out with a grin in return.

He tried to school his face though, wouldn't do to look all goofy in front of the troops.

Lily nodded, "She says hello." Among other things that she wouldn't be passing along to Evander QUITE yet. "I will try to remember that next time." Hah. She'd really only mentioned it because she'd heard her mother had forced him to eat food.

Lil reached for Van's free hand and gave it a tug, "Are you free, or am I going to have to pout and sulk to get my way?" HMM?

"I'm sure thats hardly all she said." Van commented wryly. Healers. They were a type. He raised one eyebrow at Lily over his coffee cup, took a sip and then dropped another little kiss on her cheek.

"... hmm."

That was...

He grinned.

"You might have to pout and sulk." Just for funsies.

"You're right about that." Lily relented, "But it's nothing that you need to know about right now anyway." It was quite possible that she was simply withholding information just because he was being a tease.

Lily did pout.

Tease.

Van was aware. He was.

He laughed quietly and bent down for a kiss to make that pout go away.

"Anywhere particular you want to go for lunch?"

Lily grinned. "It's a surprise." She gave his hand another tug, "Can we leave from here, or do you need to go back first?" Or did she just have to POUT some more.

"I think one of these portraits whistled at me, by the way." She was quite flattered about it too.

"Hmm. We can leave from here." They'd be fine without him for a bit. "I'll take a lunch break."

He squeezed her hand.

"Yeah? They get frisky."

YAY! Not that Lily would have minded if he had something that needed done before he left, but she liked that she just got to STEAL him away. Hehe. "Let's go then!" She waved at the portraits, and then she and Van started back down the corridor, in the opposite direction.

Plymouth had retreated from the Atrium when ....weird things started happening down there. It wasn't that he was afraid of the Minister's loud and large self, so much as with everyone else focused there now was the perfect time to start exploring the Ministry.

It was like a million times bigger than the Prophet. Plymouth would be finding new places in the Ministry for years to come. On today's agenda was the biggest level: Level 2. Mr. Morgan, Welcome Wizard Extraordinaire, strolled off the lifts and .... lingered. "....hehe."

Why was it never a slow day for her? Her life would be so much easier if she didn't have to deal with a lot of crap every day. With a sigh Laurie left the hectic office and decided to work down in the bowels of the place today.

Before she made it to the lift though she ran into someone who definitely didn't belong and she frowned, "Are you lost?" He definitely looked lost. Maybe she shouldn't have asked she didn't have time to show some lost soul around.
