He knew Gina gave them out very sparingly and even he hadn't gotten one in the 5 years he'd been in the position. "If you are looking at changing positions though let me know, I'll see what we can do. Perhaps you're ready to move on to something new, more exciting. Stop me here or come to my office after the meeting."
"The two changes I made, were: Katrina has been moved to Ambassador. We haven't had an ambassador for the Magical countries, and particularly Atlantis has needed someone there as of lately so when she requested a move from undercover buyer, I transfered her into the position." Looking down the table towards Dimitri, "The other change I've made is we really do need to have an undercover buyer, and with Kat switching and myself no longer on the floor I've promoted Dimitri to Undercover Buyer." Smiling at the man, he added "I want to add my congratulations there, he's done well and deserves it."
Dimitri listened to the new boss carefully. After he had finished with his quick lunch, he took his second coffee and took something from his pocket. Chocolate chip cookies! Actually the skinny guy was still a bit hungry. But cookies were enough for him.
Oh, he was giving some announcement, right? Interesting. So, what's new?
The skinny guy kept listening to the boss while he was busy munching his cookies. He was eager to know what Gavin would announce now. Did he just said about offering promotion? Sounds interesting. Dimitri was quite enthusiast to hear that. Actually he wanted to got a promotion, he was eager about the other position, perhaps the one who could gave him more chance to travel abroad. But could he? He was new in this department; been working since last year in here. But.. Well, maybe he should talk it to Gavin later. He sipped his coffee more.
O________________O"
He almost spatted out his coffee. Ouch! But he just coughed slightly because he was choking. WAS HIS LAST STATEMENT WAS KIDDING? No, He knew that Gavin was never kidding about that. BUT MAYBE HE WAS DREAMING? He pinched his arm hard. Ouch! It was hurt. So, WAS IT REAL? DIMITRI DESERVED A PROMOTION TO BE AN UNDERCOVER BUYER?
The skinnny guy still couldn't believe it. His eyes widened suddenly. "..Me?" Suddenly he spoke. Wow! DIMITRI BURTON WAS VERY EXCITED! He was speechless, didn't know what to say to Gavin except.. "Well.. Thanks, Gavin!" But he still didn't know more about his new position. Well, after this meeting he must talk with the boss to know more about Undercover Buyer job.

Harland shifted slightly in his seat before settling back into it. For once he hadn't even touched any of the food in the room - food was the last thing on his mind today. He was really starting to like Gavin. He had been feeling for quite some time that this place needed a change, and as much as he had liked Gina, this was potentially seeming like a very good change indeed.
Nowwwwww... some more changes were in order, yes? Liiiiike maybe something a little more important for Harland in the way of his everyday job? Not a promotion necessarily, but just something to keep him out of the cubicle and feeling like he was actually making a noticeable difference in the world. He sighed nearly in audibly and tuned back into the world.

With a quick glance at her watch, Lizzie realised that she was late. As usual. Why was she always late. Rushing and stumbling, she ran to the conference room, red-faced. She tried to smooth down her crazy-looking hair without success.
Upon arriving, she nodded to the new deparment head. "I'm so sorry, I....COOKIES!" Ooops. She probably shouldn't of said that, thinking about it afterwards. Liz must seem so childish. She was so childish, actually. She bit her lip. "Sorry." Then she went to sit down in an empty seat by Harland, facing the floor.

He knew the news was going to be a surprise to Dimitri, he'd hoped to have caught him prior to the meeting, but so many things had been happening, and he'd completely spaced it out when he had spoken with Dimitri. Smiling at the man, he nodded "You are quite welcome." Looking up as a few more entered the room he nodded to them, before looking back at Dimitri "Just stop by my office after the meeting."

Smiling at the other two "We were just discussing a few changes that are happening in the level. We're going to be making more changes, but for now Dimitri has been promoted to Undercover Buyer and Katrina will be our new ambassador for the magical countries."
Laughing softly as Elizabeth mentioned the cookies "Feel free both of you to grab a bite to eat, there's plenty there."

"Hi," she muttered.
Harland glanced up as a girl ran in very late. Even if he'd been late that time, he definitely would have been acting as crazed and rushed. Suave, cool, and collected were what he was gifted with being able to portray on the outside, even when he didn't feel it on the inside.
He didn't say anything as the girl came over and ended up sitting beside him, just staring at the floor. Erm...okay. Wait, was she talking to him? He assumed it wasn't the floor she was talking to, so he blinked and said, "Hi." The word tasted funny on his tongue. Harland was more of a 'Hello. How great is it to be sitting next to me, eh?' kind of guy. Still, though, she was a pretty girl. So 'hi' sufficed.

Harland looked back up at Gavin as he addressed himself and the girl - Elizabeth, was it? - and nodded slightly at his words, though he had been present for part of that. "I had a big breakfast, but thank you," Harland said with a small smile. Well, it was partly true. Even though he hated eggs, he did have a good size stack of pancakes...yesterday.

Sophie continued to be silent as Gavin spoke to everyone in the department. She was always the type who was more of keeping her mouth shut and her ears open then being a blabber mouth. Sophie did not need to throw compliments n Gavin's direction because he knew that she was proud of his promotion. She was always the silent type- no need to speak unless spoken to. That was why she was good at her job, she got her work done.
As he spoke more, she just keep her ears open. More promotions? Wow, Gina rarely ever did that. The only one that Sophie could remember was her own when she became the Liaison for the Department. She was glad to see people moving up. t was a nice motion.
As the conversation continued Dart continued eating up he's food, it was only when he was done that he actually looked up to the everyone that was there. He was half listening to Gavin and half focusing on the people around him. He was looking to see which ones looked worthy of any bit of he's amazing espect, besides Gavin of course he already some.
It was then he saw a lady that looked rather beautiful lady (Sophie) and to him beauty meant he had to respect. He winked at her because that's what he thought respect was and then smirked at her showing he's bright white teeth. He then looked back at the purple diary.
Still it was not opened. He began fiddling with the lock. He had tried everything possible, including magic...but nope it wouldn't open and that meant one thing. He's neice was hiding something huge in this diary.

Harland was a bit quieter, Gavin had always noticed, but not unpleasantly so. Smiling his way he nodded. He wasn't going to push for people to eat if they weren't hungry! "If you're sure." he said nodding to the man.

He watched Sophie for her reactions to his decisions. When she didn't comment, he was glad that at least outwardly she didn't disagree. Thinking back he was sure that Sophie was the only one to be promoted in the time he'd been in level 5. She'd definitely earned it, but it reminded him that the promotions should be spread out and definitely earned.

His gaze drifted back to Dart, what was with that little purple book that he was back to trying to open. It definitely had peaked Gavin's curiosity a few times now. Mentally shrugging he was definitely going to make a note to ask him about the book.
"As I mentioned we will be having new employees joining us soon. If anyone is unhappy with your position or would like something a bit more challenging, please find me after the meeting. I'd like everyone settled into your positions and new positions well before the new employees arrive." Letting those words sink in he looked at each one around the table again.
"I want to leave the meeting with one last thing. It will be our level's turn to host the Ministry Christmas party." Yep, big announcement! "I'll be sending a memo out in the next few days for us to do some planning. So please watch for the memo. If anyone has any ideas for the party and planning please drop me a memo as well."
Having walked through the cubicle areas, Gavin headed for the conference room the last few platters of food in his hands that he immediately set down on the tables on the side of the room. The big table in the center had been moved and all the chairs just scattered around the room, so it would be less meetinglike and more casual. It was sad to say that he was finally leaving after so many years in London and at the ministry. But it was time to move on. He and Piper had finally decided to leave and do travelling like they'd talked of for awhile now.
He'd taken and finally sold his home and was now ready to go and find where life would take them.
But first? He needed to say good bye to all those who he'd met and worked with for the last 7 years on level 5.

Harland glided into the room, brushing a bit of dust off his coat. It wasn't often he was covered in dust, but working in the backroom the past few hours had done its job on him. As he looked up, he was reminded of the last time he'd spent an extended amount of time in here - that was when Gina left and Gavin took over. Now another leader was, yet again, leaving them.
Harland's eyes landed on Gavin himself a moment later and he managed a small sort of grim smile. "Gavin," he started with a nod as he closed the distance between them in a few strides and stuck out his hand. It was odd being the first one here, and Harland was rarely this sentimental, but he'd begun to like Gavin the moment he took over and had grown very fond of him since he had. Or as fond as you can be of a boss. He liked to think of them as friends, though. "So you're really going, eh?" he asked, some of his usual charm coming back to hide his slight sadness.

"Harland." he said stepping towards the man as well, taking his hand. "I'm afraid so. It's been quite a ride here in England, but I dare say I'm itching to get back out there in the field and do some travelling again." He'd been saying that for years, but he was finally doing it. At least this time he wouldn't be alone. Though it had been heartbreaking to have to say good bye for now to Kat's youngest siblings. He'd miss them a lot!
"It's going to be weird not being around here any more." he said with a wry look stepping back again. "It's been 10 years."

Level five wasn't an are Ella walked around often. Ella wasn't sure how long she would be staying at this little farewell thing, but that depended on how.. awkward things got? She didn't know Gavin well at all, but she still thought, as a fellow department head, that it would be nice to say goodbye to the man. He had been nice, as far as she could tell.
Finding her way around the level, Ella peeked inside the conference room and saw Gavin and another man in there already. "Hello..." Hopefully she wasn't interrupting anything.
Ella walked up to the head of Level 5. "I know we never talked much, but I just thought I'd say goodbye and... wish you luck on your new adventure." Those were good parting words, right?

Sitting down at the conference room table once he'd read the notice board, Charles adjusted his shirt a little and waited for everyone else to turn up. Did they even read the notice board? He supposed that most of them did, they just didn't like to be early. His hand was settled on his paper and his self-inking quill was next to his hand. He was ready, now where was everyone else?

Had she mentioned that she really didn't like ministry breaks? Yeah she got to spend a lot of time with her family but there was just something about waking up everyday for work and using up that drive and energy she ran on.
Though her eleven month old did have her burn some. It was already so hard keeping up with her.
Layla clicked her way into the conference room spotting only one person so far. She nodded politely and then took her seat.
"Good morning."

Entering the conference room, Gidyun noticed Charles already there and having taken a seat as was a woman. He'd started the coffee but hadn't brought anything else. He kind of wondered if maybe he should have brought something like scones or something but it was too late to think about that.
"Good morning." he said with a bright smile as he refilled his coffee mug and sat down in one of the chairs.

Quinn walked into the conference room.
"Hi everyone, I'm Quinn," she said happily, introducing herself. She was more than a little anxious, and she nervously straightened out her white blouse.
Because it was one of the few colors that worked with her hair.

"Morning." Charles responded almost automatically, standing as a woman came into the room. Once she was sat down, he followed suit and sat back down. He'd looked down at the table for a moment, wondering if the introductions should wait until their new department head was here. He looked up when a man came into the room and his eyes immediately narrowed. Who in Merlin's name had hired this guy?! Didn't they know he was rude and his wife was one heck of a piece of work?! Clearing his throat, he responded with a low "Morning," and went back to staring at the door. Maybe Gidyun would leave and not come back? He stood again when another woman entered the room declaring that her name was Quinn. Giving her a polite nod, he straightened his shirt and instead of waiting for her to sit, he sat down again and pointedly ignored Gidyun.

He'd caught the look on Charles' face and kept a fairly straight face unable to hide the little smirk. He wondered if Charles knew that he was the new department head or not. Judging by the response from the man, he couldn't really tell. "Good morning Quinn" he said kindly giving the woman a kind smile, as she entered the room. Glancing towards the clock on the wall, he looked around at the three. He wasn't sure if the others might be joining them or not so figured they could at least start with introductions.
"Forgive me if I begin this meeting without everyone here. But why don't we start by introducing ourselves a bit, and hopefully a few more will join us. My name is Gidyun Yenorin, and I'm the new IMC department head. I was the department head for Accidents & Catastrophes for 3 years in the Italian ministry before becoming an ambassador for the Magical countries for the last year before accepting a position here at the British Ministry."

Well this was certainly a whole lot different from working on level one but Layla wasn't about to point that out. She shifted a little bit in her seat and offered a smile to the woman who had entered and a nod to the man. She was used to working alongside the minister of magic and the senior under secretary so a level of professionalism WAS expected.
Starting with three people...okay...so this man was a stickler for time...she could understand that. The woman cleared her throat.
"I am Layla Dacosta-McLaughlin. I am the current ambassador to the magical countries here on level five as well as immigration officer and was the previous liaison officer to the minister of magic and current managing editor of the daily prophet. Before that I worked in magical transportation as a researcher."
She tapped her note pad thoughtfully, not sure she needed to say more."I must say I am excited to be apart of this department and look forward to promoting a healthy international wizarding community."

Elizabeth silently came in and took an empty seat, she nodded to each. Eliza didnt want to interrupt the woman speaking. Elizabeth glanced around the room, noting the people there and gave a light smile to Charles before looking at the woman who was talking about promoting a health international wizarding community or some sort of stuff like that. Elizabeth twisted her rings and was a bit bored to be honest. She made a mental note about wanting to catch up with Charles and then tried to focus on what Layla was talking about.

When Gidyun spoke up, Charles threw him a look of contempt, but when he said he was the department head, his jaw set. This guy was his boss? He narrowed his eyes at him and looked away again. This was going to be Gavin all over again, wasn't it?
His eyes turned to Layla when she spoke and he straightened up a little. He nodded to her when he realised that she was going to be working alongside him and was a professional woman who had a notepad. That cheered him up some. His eyes turned to Elizabeth when she came in and he gave her a little nod. He hadn't seen her for a while and wanted to know she was okay. He finally spoke up once Layla was done.
"I'm Charles Taylor. I am the other ambassador, specialising in the America's and I am the current liaison to the minister of magic's offices." Also, the one who already knew Gidyun. He just assumed from his previous experience that the man wouldn't do any of the Department's work but take all the credit, just as Gavin had done.

Ehhh Never. Not the 'Le King' he was always on time. Other people were just early. heh. Now where was it he had to be today? aaah. yes. Conference room.
Walking straight past his usual desk, the French made his way to the conference room where a department meeting was told to be held. With what he thought was swag, Dartanian tugged on blazer jacket and entered the meeting. SMIRK. He looked 'emezing' didn't he? Eh. Wink. Wink. To all the ladies...not that they had a chance considering he was proudly married, but winking wouldn't hurt.
Continuing with his 'swag' walk, the 'Le King' took his seat and went on with his smirking...not saying a word just yet. He was creating a dramatic pause, cause you know awesome people needed that.
"I em Dartenien...but cell me ze Lee Keeng." he spoke at last, French accent as strong as ever.
Listening as Layla spoke he made a few notes on his pad. "Wonderful, thank you Layla." He'd helped hire Layla and Quinn so he knew a little about them. Nodding he gave her a smile and looked up as Eliza entered. "Welcome Eliza." he said giving her a smile.
As Charles started speaking, Gid kept his face completely neutral and noted a few more things. He hadn't missed the look Charles had given him. Well, this time around meeting him Gid had the upper hand. Unfortunately he also had some changes he was planning on making as well. Nodding he gave him a small smile as he finished.
Looking up as Dart appeared, "Morning Dartanian." Heh, Le King? No, that seemed a bit...just no. He'd either use Mr. Leroy or Dartanian, or another nickname if wished. Not Le King. "We're just introducing ourselves here, Eliza and Dartanian. I'm Gidyun Yenorin, your new department head."

"Harland Flynn," came the voice from the tall figure leaning up against the doorway. Harland himself walked in with a small smile at the room and a brief nod at his new boss before he slid into one of the rolling chairs. His smile hadn't changed a bit since he started working there, although it was a bit more plastered than it once was.
He continued, "Economic and Social Council member, started out as a British Wizarding Immigration Officer, only child, enjoys long walks on the beach..." He grinned and shook his head. "Actually, I hate the beach. Sensitive skin," he added with a shrug and a small smile.

Looking up as another person entered the conference room, he gave him a smile "Welcome Harland." Making a few notes as well, as he explained what his position was. He nodded to the group. Splendid, it looked like everyone except...Adam was there. "With taking on the position as department head I wanted to make some changes to how some of the positions are currently in place as well combining some positions and eliminating others."
Focusing his attention on Charles, whom it might impact the most. "Charles I have appointed you the ambassador for all the countries, not just the Americas. You aren't alone in this, however." Turning his attention to Layla "Layla you are also an ambassador. Each of you specialize in a specific country, but I'd like the two of you to take care of the other individual areas as well: Asia, Europe, Africa and Australia."
There was one change he'd decided was needed. With only 7 employees, it was difficult to have 6 ambassadors. Just was not possible! Now for their reactions!
OOC: If you haven't introduced yourself or even Adam appears, feel free to catch up! When your turn comes with a possible change, feel free to act however your charrie takes it. Obviously here, for instance Charles/Layla might not be thrilled having extra work. Or Elizabeth might not be happy no longer being an ambassador.
So have fun with it, whether it be speaking up or just glaring or even staring at Gidyun! feel free to even take this to the work areas!!!
