Oh. She was holding his hand. That was bad, and had probably made things more awkward. Umm. He was just kind of standing there, which made her feel like he really didn't like it. Mmm. She couldn't really let go now could she? Because well it would look a little weird. Isobel kind of stared at their hands for a few moments. It did feel nice actually, even though it felt really awkward. Maybe she could like had some excuse, and like disappear now? Ooh. About the same time that she had joined the ministry. That was pretty interesting. "Awesome..." She smiled at the woman. It was nice to meet some new people, especially ones that had been at the ministry near the same time as her. "I started about then too...." And wasn't regretting it at all. She had met her amazing Armen whilst working at the ministry, and even though they were fighting right now, she really didn't care.
Oh. Now she was asking about her and Armen's relationship. That was kind of awkward, but like she couldn't not answer her. "Since September last year..." Which was like 6 months, and she liked that. She smiled, glancing up at Armen, even though it felt really awkward right now. | Quote:

The conversation took the obvious turn towards Isobel and his relationship--of course it would with the incredibly inappropriate hand-holding, he liked Izzy a lot but she didn't seem to be able to give him room to breath after their argument. Well...at least she was trying to make up for it. Kat wasn't helping either, he would have to have a word with her later for putting him in this situation. But he wasn't sure how she stood on the Cult, but relationship troubles were relationship troubles, definately a univeral topic if you take out the details of two rival groups: Cultists and Aurors.
He let Isobel do the explaining for now and slowly removed his hand from her's to scratch the top of his head and chuckled slightly as if the story of their meeting made him all giggly. "Yeah about six months." He wasn't in the mood to discuss these matters at the moment with Kat but he wasn't about to embarrass Isobel either, he did still like her.
Over Kat's head Armen caught site of a familiar man striding through the crowd, passing near them and continuing on towards the direct floor floos. Tut tut...Armen needed to be reminded to monitor the Level 2 one more closely, he had wanted it to be programmed into booting Bole into a home or cottage out in Surrey whenever he tried to use it.
He wondered if he had heard about his and Isobel's argument? The Department Head knew that Evander had him under the Cultists but wasn't worried. He wouldn't try anything, he just like to make threats hidden behind his 'army' of Aurors. | Oh so Isobel started work around the same time as her and she didn't waste time in finding a significant other either, it seemed. Katherine had to admit on some level she was slightly envious of not just Isobel, but those girls who seemed to always be with someone. Not that she wanted to be dependent; she fully enjoyed being the successful, independent-minded witch that she was, but sometimes she got . . . lonely.
So in some sense maybe it was because that, but at that moment, Kat was feeling her sense of loneliness again. And their own new relationship awkwardness seemed to spread to her, but instead of smoldering in it, Kat took it as a cue. "Um... Oh... I should really continue on my way to the city park so I can get back to work." Giving them both a half-hearted smile, before turning to head outside she added, "Lovely meeting you, Isobel. And I'll see you back up at the office in about an hour, Armen." Quote:

Arriving at work the morning after his conversation with Lilyan, Evander headed right through the golden gates, and didn't even stop when he saw Isobel and.... Armen.
Hand holding.
He shuddered and kept walking, making a mental note to keep an eye on her. If she was stupid enough to date the man, she was stupid enough to turn cult, and he couldn't have that in his department.
And it rankled that anyone he'd cared about could BE either of those kinds of stupid...
... and the Armen one more so than the cult one, Armen Recard was a tosspot and a certified idiot.
Van disappeared into the security office and took the direct floo to his level, so that he wouldn't end up having to share a lift with the guy...
... or fisticuffs might ensue. It was just that kind of morning. | ... turning to leave from the awkward tensions, her eyes couldn't help but fall upon that of an unfamiliar gentlemen, who seemed familiar with both Armen and Isobel. Kat wondered for a fleeting instance if he felt the same pangs of envy she did when he saw two people in a relationship. Same pangs of loneliness.
But in the instance it came, it was gone. And so was Katherine. |
