Well he was kind of depressed without her, work piled on, Cultist activities on top of that..."I'm doing ok. Busy as ever. You?"

He felt almost bad for asking how she was, obviously she was about as bad as he was feeling at the moment.

He was okay? Well. That was nice for him, but she was feeling very opposite. Isobel was having a hard time keeping their argument away from her thoughts, mainly because she was thinking about it all the time. "I'm....." She paused, her eyes betraying her. She was going to try to lie to him, but she just couldn't at all. "I've been better..." She sighed, shrugging at him. It wasn't his problem, not really. But then someone interrupted them. Isobel was kind of glad of that to be honest. It might make things less awkward.

"Not that busy," Kat interjected at overhearing his comments to the woman. "Unless you're trying to say I'm no help?" Cue innocent, playful smile.

She'd seen this woman a couple of times on Armen's level, but she didn't actually know who it was. Mmm. Perfect time to get to know each other then? Isobel forced a smile as she glanced between Armen, and this woman. "Hey...." She nodded at the other woman, noticing that she hadn't bothered to say hello. How rude. "I'm Isobel Montogue, Auror." And you are?

Armen wasn't sure what else to do at the moment, standing there in the middle of a crowd with his...girlfriend? Who the last encounter with was an argument behind the closed door of his office. Suddenly a fmailiar voice sounded behind him and he turned around quickly, excited for the distraction. "Ahhh hello Kat! It's good to see you, and wait, no of course you are a great help!" he said catching himself and nodding nervously. This whole situation with Isobel had him a little crazy at the moment.

Had she just rudely interrupted something? Judging from the awkward stuffiness that seemed to fill the air, Kat suspected as much, but didn't really care either. Inner Lioness and all.

Besides, the woman-who-Kat-didn't-like didn't seem to object to her presence. In fact, she welcomed it earnestly, it seemed by introducing herself. Auror? Interesting. "Hello," she said, nodding back. "My apologies." For you know, not introducing herself or greeting her. "Katherine Spades, Apparition Supervisor." And Armen's office wannabe-office-wife

Oh good! All the work she'd done for him wasn't in vain! That was a relief. But why did he seem so ... nervous? Perhaps Borr was right about the air being stuffy in the Ministry. "Good, good. Just checking. So was I interrupting something important?" Because if she was, she didn't care. And if she wasn't, then what a shame. Tee hee.

Isobel felt a little uncomforable. But maybe meeting more people, especially from Armen's level was good. She needed more friends. Ahh. So she did work on his level. That was good. Although....she really didn't want her here right now. She would much rather be alone with Armen, so that they could talk things over. "Oooh....sounds fun." Not really. Even though her boyfriend was the department head she would not be seen dead working in that department.

Subconsiously she stepped closer to Armen, slipping her hand into his. She probably wouldn't have done that, if she had realised it. "How long have you worked for Armen?" She asked, with a smile. It was....kind of interesting?

Armen was just sort of standing there watching the two women speak. The Department head wondered to himself if he could simply sneak away and allow one of his employees act as a buffer between him and his girlfriend who were fighting, could he do that? But before he could do so, Kat spoke to him.

"Oh of course not Kat, nothing major going on here, just coming up to a day full of work and happened to bump into Isobel down here." he said nodding slowly. Yep...that was all.

His plan for escape was thrwared even furhter when out of nowhere Izzy grabbed his hand in his and held it, just like nothing was wrong. Armen froze, he didn't know what to do. So in the fashion he had taken to so well recently, he just froze and stood there in shock. He was going to need a firewhiskey after this work day was over.

Was that sarcasm she detected in the woman's tone? Here she thought only Gryffindors could get away that kind of tone. Or had the woman been a Lion too? She looked to be around the same age as Kat, but unfamiliar all the same. Of course it was over ten years that she graduated so even if she had attended Hogwarts with the girl, she wouldn't recall.

The hand-holding hadn't escaped her line of sight either. "Um... since summer 2074?" Somewhere around there; she was still pretty new. "How long have you two been seeing each other?" she said, nodding subtly at their bonded hands. You know, just so she knew if they were really together or not.

Nothing major. Well that kind of stunk. She half wished she HAD interrupted something major ... might have blew some air into the place. "How did you two meet?" She was genuinely curious about that, in the least.

Oh. She was holding his hand. That was bad, and had probably made things more awkward. Umm. He was just kind of standing there, which made her feel like he really didn't like it. Mmm. She couldn't really let go now could she? Because well it would look a little weird. Isobel kind of stared at their hands for a few moments. It did feel nice actually, even though it felt really awkward. Maybe she could like had some excuse, and like disappear now?

Ooh. About the same time that she had joined the ministry. That was pretty interesting. "Awesome..." She smiled at the woman. It was nice to meet some new people, especially ones that had been at the ministry near the same time as her. "I started about then too...." And wasn't regretting it at all. She had met her amazing Armen whilst working at the ministry, and even though they were fighting right now, she really didn't care.

Oh. Now she was asking about her and Armen's relationship. That was kind of awkward, but like she couldn't not answer her. "Since September last year..." Which was like 6 months, and she liked that. She smiled, glancing up at Armen, even though it felt really awkward right now.

I couldn't resist. *passes through*

Arriving at work the morning after his conversation with Lilyan, Evander headed right through the golden gates, and didn't even stop when he saw Isobel and.... Armen.

Hand holding.

He shuddered and kept walking, making a mental note to keep an eye on her. If she was stupid enough to date the man, she was stupid enough to turn cult, and he couldn't have that in his department.

And it rankled that anyone he'd cared about could BE either of those kinds of stupid...

... and the Armen one more so than the cult one, Armen Recard was a tosspot and a certified idiot.

Van disappeared into the security office and took the direct floo to his level, so that he wouldn't end up having to share a lift with the guy...

... or fisticuffs might ensue. It was just that kind of morning.

PadfootAndTheWolf 06-29-2011 11:48 PM

Bwahah! Anyone else to make Armen feel anymore awkward or uncomfortable?! :)

The conversation took the obvious turn towards Isobel and his relationship--of course it would with the incredibly inappropriate hand-holding, he liked Izzy a lot but she didn't seem to be able to give him room to breath after their argument. Well...at least she was trying to make up for it. Kat wasn't helping either, he would have to have a word with her later for putting him in this situation. But he wasn't sure how she stood on the Cult, but relationship troubles were relationship troubles, definately a univeral topic if you take out the details of two rival groups: Cultists and Aurors.

He let Isobel do the explaining for now and slowly removed his hand from her's to scratch the top of his head and chuckled slightly as if the story of their meeting made him all giggly. "Yeah about six months." He wasn't in the mood to discuss these matters at the moment with Kat but he wasn't about to embarrass Isobel either, he did still like her.

Over Kat's head Armen caught site of a familiar man striding through the crowd, passing near them and continuing on towards the direct floor floos. Tut tut...Armen needed to be reminded to monitor the Level 2 one more closely, he had wanted it to be programmed into booting Bole into a home or cottage out in Surrey whenever he tried to use it.

He wondered if he had heard about his and Isobel's argument? The Department Head knew that Evander had him under the Cultists but wasn't worried. He wouldn't try anything, he just like to make threats hidden behind his 'army' of Aurors.

Oh so Isobel started work around the same time as her and she didn't waste time in finding a significant other either, it seemed. Katherine had to admit on some level she was slightly envious of not just Isobel, but those girls who seemed to always be with someone. Not that she wanted to be dependent; she fully enjoyed being the successful, independent-minded witch that she was, but sometimes she got . . . lonely.

So in some sense maybe it was because that, but at that moment, Kat was feeling her sense of loneliness again. And their own new relationship awkwardness seemed to spread to her, but instead of smoldering in it, Kat took it as a cue.

"Um... Oh... I should really continue on my way to the city park so I can get back to work." Giving them both a half-hearted smile, before turning to head outside she added, "Lovely meeting you, Isobel. And I'll see you back up at the office in about an hour, Armen."

... turning to leave from the awkward tensions, her eyes couldn't help but fall upon that of an unfamiliar gentlemen, who seemed familiar with both Armen and Isobel. Kat wondered for a fleeting instance if he felt the same pangs of envy she did when he saw two people in a relationship. Same pangs of loneliness.

But in the instance it came, it was gone. And so was Katherine.

Isobel didn't know how comfortable Armen was about talking about their relationship, but when he removed his hand from hers, she figured that he must be very uncomfortable. She glanced up at him, and took a step away. Yeah. She wasn't feel too comfortable anymore either. She really kind of wished that she'd just walked past Armen now, it would've been much easier. "It's been fun...." Well minus the last few weeks. Those had not been fun.

As she glanced around the spotted Evander wandering past, and decided now would be a very good time to go. Didn't really want to be too far behind the boss. She had a feeling that he'd probably seen her with Armen too, and that wasn't going to go down too well. Hmm. "I'm gonna head up to level 2 now..." She concluded, looking up at him. Well this had been awkward. "I'll see you later Armen..." Although she had no idea when later was going to actually happen.

"It was nice meeting you too." And Isobel would definetly be keeping an eye on this woman. She seemed to want to be best friends with Armen, which Isobel felt was a little weird...being best friends with the boss. Even if there was a good reason why she wouldn't be best friends with Evander....she still would've found it weird. "Good bye Katherine...." Isobel mused with a smile. Yeah. She would make sure kept an eye on this one.

Armen had been staring off sort of tyring to not be pulled too far into the awkwardness of the situation. Before he knew it the women had seemed to stop talking and Kat was about to take her lunch out in the park. "Oh well. Enjoy your lunch Kat. And yes, I will see you in the office shortly. Bye." he waved smally as she left.

Now he and Isobel were alone again. He was tired of being this awkward but he wasn't sure he was over what had happened in their argument, this fighting was definately going to have to simmer before it ended. He nodded when she mentioned it had been fun to Kat, it really had been, and would be in the future, it was just a tiny break or bump in the ride at the moment.

Now she was leaving, "Yeah, have a good day Isobel." he smiled smally as she walked away. He was alone now...turning, the Department Head walked up to the lifts and straight to level six.

She rubbed her throat gently, then cleared it before she took two of her stickers and put one on each of the newcomers' foreheads. There, now they look pretty. She giggled. Ooh, they looked so cute, and gullible! She just had to play a prank on them. Clearing her throat a second time and adjusting her little pink bow tie she composed herself and with a very serious face began speaking. "I am sorry to inform that both of you are currently wanted by the Wizardry Law Enforcement! I hope you can accommodate to new environments easily, because your destination for the next twenty years will be Azkaban." She was pressing her lips together very tightly, trying very hard not to laugh as she waited for a response.

Persephone scowled at the woman. She didn't have time for this nonsense. Her father used to play similar "pranks" on her, but they were so transparent they ceased to be funny. And that was exactly how the American Auror felt.

"Right, she said monotonously, "I'll get that sorted in a bit. First I do need to get my wand registered or something. Where do I need to go?" She was all business, which she felt was needed in law enforcement.
