Meeting is over :) "No pictures of Lord Borr unless he orders it," replied Rex. "As for aquariums, I will have to gain approval from the powers that be." He looked at the clock. "So it's agreed that you can spruce up your cubicles with personal items. Since there's nothing else on the agenda, this meeting is over and everyone needs to get back to work. If you need me, I'll be in my office." And he was the first to leave the conference room. |

After poking his head in all of the department offices and game room, Rex was the first to arrive for the emergency meeting. Hopefully, the entire department would be willing to work together despite their different job descriptions. He looked at the wrinkled flyer in his hands and thought about the intelligence report he'd received. They needed people to be there. And they needed to be there right now. |

After having heard about a meeting, Aedan made his way towards the Conference Room. The young man sneezed as he opened the door and nodded to everyone who was already inside the room. He found his seat and sat on it when he sneezed again, hand covering his nose and mouth. He had the feeling he was coming down with a cold but...he figured that this meeting was important. And he wasn't the type of person to go home whenever he had a cold. |
Three people. Three responsible people. Well, it's better than nothing. "I'm not going to wait for the others," Rex began and there was no trace of humor in his face. None. "A situation has arisen that involves the entire department regardless of which division you're assigned to." Pause. "A few days ago, an intelligence report arrived on my desk detailing a few patents that were approved by this department shortly before I or any of us came to work for the British Ministry." Another dramatic pause. "At first glance, these patents seem harmless but we pulled the files and found out otherwise. There are traces of dark magic hidden in these seven patents - patents commonly used for cheap trinkets such as glow-in-the-dark wand holsters, flashing gobstones, and miniature snitches. Trinkets that are usually given out at carnivals." Rex now stood up and leaned on the table. He knew what they were thinking. "There is such a carnival currently occurring in Diagon Alley. And we need people there." There. Now to see how they will react. |
Blake ran towards the door of the conference room and took a few seconds outside to catch his breath. He had a little tea mishap by the carts. Heh. Oops. By the time he got everything back in it's place he remembered about the emergency meeting that he was planning on going to right before the incident. Double oops. He could here Rex speaking from where he was standing right outside the door and thought that it'd be better to listen before walking in. Walking in while he was talking would be rude, he was probably going to be considered irresponsible for showing up late, but being irresponsible and rude would be worse. Wait carnival!? Dark magic!? This can not be good. Blake walked into the room and smiled sheepishly. "Sorry for being so late. I erm--" Here he pulled the collar of his shirt nervously. "Had some trouble by the refreshment cart... But erm.. Don't worry. It's all fixed now." He quickly took a seat without another word trying to think more about what Rex had said and forget about being late. "Well if your looking for volunteers, I'll certainly go to investigate and help get rid of the dark magic-trinkets." He wasn't really quite sure if Vindictus was looking for volunteers or if it is a simple, everyone needs to go type thing. But Blake was late and the least he could do is put himself forward for the task. Even if the words "Dark Magic" made him a bit nervous and feel uneasy. |
Aedan looked up when Blake walked in the conference room and then turned his attention back to his boss. He frowned more and more at each word that was said. So dark objects were at the carnival? Aedan gasped loudly as he remembered that his little brother was at that carnival. Alone and he knew him. He knew that Daichi would buy any thing as long as it is cute or what not. "I'll volunteer to help too" Aedan said after Blake had spoken up and he sneezed again. He really wanted to help. And doing a field job wouldn't be bad either. But it was still Dark Magic which made him slightly uncomfortable. |

There was currently, a carnival occurring in Diagon Alley and they needed people there. It could be that bad if she volunteered to go, would it? Quote:

Can't believe I missed this. D: Adam had sidled in to the room just after Mr. Vindictus had begun talking, nodding apologetically at his boss and the people already seated around the wall. Noting that the man was already deep in talk, he leant on the back of a chair instead of pulling it out and sitting down. There was a CARNIVAL? In Diagon Alley? And they needed THEM there? Had he missed much? Probably. The man ran a hand through his hair, straightening up from his leaning and nodding a little. The hand fell from his hair to near his shoulder, in a raise, volunteering sort of poise. "I'll be happy go," he nodded once more, looking around at the other people who'd also volunteered. This would be interesting, right? It seemed to him, anyway. |
Blake's previous nervous smile had faded. Luckily Rex didn't take much notice to his late entrance. Next time he'd just skip on tea before meetings. He watched carefully as a few others spoke up and volunteered themselves for the task. "Just wondering is it only our department trying to fix this or are other departments planning to help as well?" He just wanted to know. If he was planning on saving a carnival from dark magic he wanted to know who he'd be working beside. WAIT. Don't little kids go to this carnival!? Poor, poor little kids. Hopefully this meeting will end soon because the longer they wait the more little kids will be in danger! Poor, poor little kids. Hogwarts was off school at the moment which means there'll be even more than normal and OH REX! They have to go now! |
A few more employees joined them and volunteered. "Thank you for volunteering," Rex nodded at the newcomers. "I want you to go to the carnival and see what trinkets you can pick up - you know, the cheap kind they always have at these things. But you need to act as if you're there on pleasure and not - I repeat, not - on business. We're on our own for now." "Don't try to interrogate anyone - blend in. If anyone asks why you're not at the office, tell them that you've got the day off." Rex looked at each of them. "Before you leave, please stop by my office so that I can give you money for expenses." He motioned for them to follow him and he left the conference room. |
Blake watched Rex curiously as he explained there task. Well he wasn't really expecting this sort of excitement for working in the ministry but guess who has been proven wrong! He listened carefully and smiled hearing that they had to pretend they were there for pleasure. Little did anyone know, but Blake is quite the actor. And besides who doesn't like carnivals!? He stood up from his chair and looked around to see if the rest had done so as well. He'd just follow Rex and they'd wait for the others there if they wouldn't come along. |
