"It was a good run," he agreed with a nod, "but it's going to be an even better retirement. I think I might take the family on an extended vacation." He grinned. He was thinking a month or so away from everyday life. It'd be nice. Of course, he'd have to wait until Hecate was out of school for the summer...
Wes naturally took that hand and shook it, hoping he'd gotten all the barbeque sauce off his fingers from earlier... eh, Alexander would never notice. He looked distracted enough as it was.

"Oh I'd definitely be doing the same thing, were I in your shoes," he acknowledged the man's grin with one of your own. "I'm looking forward to working with your eldest daughter," he added. "There always has to be one Greingoth working in the Ministry at all times, eh?" Just joking, former Minister.

SPOILER!!: Rachie, Evil Twin, Kristin, and Eva

The department head smiled at her former colleague. "Why thank you." Compliments were nice. Especially from someone who wasn't her husband, and therefore inforced to compliment her. "The twins are fine." She murmured, with a smile. "Still little devils." Though they were growing into bigger devils now. She wouldn't change them for the world though. She loved her boys far too much for that. Though she would prefer it if they actually behaved a little bit.

Isobel beamed as she hugged her sister. She was very glad she had seen Tasha here. It had really been far too long, and she was going to be very busy once the ministry reopened properly, so probably wouldn't have chance to see her sister then. "No. Louisa has got them." Because Wesley was around her somewhere too. "I'm collecting them later." Because she hadn't brought them to work today. Probably would drop them into the day care tomorrow. They had been rather tired this morning, so she hadn't thought that it would be too good an idea to bring them.

"You saw mother?" Isobel raised an eyebrow at her sister. Isobel would not voluntarily go to see her mother. Actually she was pretty sure she had not seen her mother since before her wedding. "Why?" Because their mother was not the nicest of people, so there must have been a big reason. "Yes. It was very relaxing." Well when the boys were in bed it had been relaxing anyway.

Ahh. There was her husband. Isobel smiled, watching as her husband approached. Oh. Hello facial hair. "Nice beard dear..." She murmured, smiling up at him. Though she did notice that something seemed to be in his beard. "But you seem to have some sauce in it..." No surprise when he was eating chicken wings. But Izzy still didn't think it was a good look. Not when he was a big department head and such.

"They look good..." She murmured with a nod. But not very ladylike to eat, so maybe she would go for something else. "Was there nothing but meat left Wes?" She teased, raising an eyebrow before she smirked. "Very good dear. Glad to know security is top of your priorities." She was very glad, because she really would not want to be a zombie again. Not at all

"Isobel, it's good to see you again!" Surely she remembered him from the family dinners Armen had brought her to. It was a shame things hadn't worked out between them, she could have been a nice addition to the family.

He was only assisting, as well as possibly ending up making others a b it annoyed had they noticed him. He wasn’t about to admit that, though, because he really didn’t understand why Roxanne just didn’t give up and stop being so irritated by his existence. He wasn’t about to return her feelings, and he was with Natasha. That was the truth, and so far the department head had seemed to be the only one to disapprove. He was his own person, and right now he was claiming his place next to his girlfriend and conversing with her sister and his former colleague. “You’re welcome,” he replied, giving a half-smile to her in response to her own smile up at him before glancing toward the hall as she’d mentioned food.

Only to turn back as Isobel had responded to him as well, and the half-smile came back. “They’re boys. That should be expected, especially considering their father,” he pointed out, remembering Wes when they’d been at Hogwarts, although also the few stories Natasha had told him about her and Isobel at the same. He would have been more surprised had his children not inherited at least some of that behavior. In any case, the blonde nestled at his side hadn’t particularly seemed like she really had wanted to move toward checking out what food was available or mingling. He could just as easily let her continue talking to her sister, although it seemed the conversation was reaching an awkward point with mention of their mother. No need to get involved in that, so he merely gave Natasha a light squeeze in case moral support was needed. The conversation hadn’t gotten there yet, but he could always be careful.

At least he wasn’t testing all the food for contaminants, even if he didn’t blame anyone for being wary after the zombie scare. Of course, he hadn’t looked at the spread to even know if it had been brought in or prepared on site, but he didn’t blame Wes for choosing to be safe. He’d raised an eyebrow in amusement at the beard, though, as well as his wife’s motherly choice to remind him that he had sauce in it. It was all rather sweet, but still amusing to him considering he’d never had that himself. Just the life of chasing after Gabriel, mourning Gwendolyn, and then working here in MLE. None of that particularly involved situations such as what he was witnessing, but then, he didn’t think he and Natasha had gotten to that point yet in their own relationship. “Good to know someone’s keeping an eye on things,” he said, echoing Isobel’s comment slightly with a wry smile. “Wouldn’t want to be cleaning up another incident after all, this soon,” he added, giving the other man who had decided to join the group a brief nod. It looked like Isobel’s question of what was available yet to eat had been answered.

"I'm relieved, but I’ll probably think twice before I take the first bite of chicken wing anyway, the zombie disease is still too fresh in my memory." Especially since Izzy had been one of the ones infected and had to live in quarantine.

"What other tasty food do they offer besides wings and ribs?"

For some reason Tasha hadn’t spent any of the vacation time away from the ministry together with Isobel. They were very close sisters but this time around they had kept on their own ends. Tasha had spent most of her time with Dorian and Isobel had the twins and Wesley. Their schedules just hadn’t meshed. Nodding she said. "Yes, I remember now. Louisa told me about caring for the twins last week over some tea at the leaky." It had just slipped her mind.

Tasha mentally kicked herself. She shouldn’t have said anything. She knew that it could lead to opening a can worms. Tentatively she nodded "Yes, father begged me to come over. I wouldn't have gone if it had been Mother who asked. Dorian went there with me." Feeling Dorian squeeze her waist a little she decided to just spill the whole truth.

"Mother wanted to show me some photo albums from many years ago when we were children that she had found while having the house elves clean the attic. She showed it to me and Dorian and she told anecdotes to fit with the pictures."

Licking her lips Tasha continued. "Don't get angry now Izzy but mother actually said that she liked Dorian and that she didn't disapprove of our relationship." Even though their mother knew that he too worked in MLE.

The can of worms had been opened.

What other foods did they offer... "Hah, the usuals," Wes answered Tasha, also subtly digging his pocket handkerchief out at the same time. "There's potatoes of several varieties, fruit, vegetables, rolls..." He did his best to wipe the sauce out of his beard. It had been a long time since he'd had a beard and apparently he had forgotten how they caught things.

"There's other foods left, of course," Wes wafted the plate by Izzy again, just to see if she'd bite. No? Was she too CHICKEN to get her hands dirty? Heh heh, punny. "I ran into Emily over there," he informed her with a knowing smirk. "Seems she's becoming quite the social butterfly." Not exactly, but to hear him tell it... yeah. And did he mention how glad he was that she liked the beard? Because he was.

Wes' eyes narrowed though as Tasha brought up the, "Infection," he corrected her hastily, with a nod toward Dorian. He knew, see. "It wasn't related to nor caused by zombies," he added in a mutter. "It was just a... respiratory infection due to a mutilation of the Silver Fern plant." Stupid ferns. He'd had to lock up his wife due to that mess; obviously it was still a sore point with him.

Since no one else seemed to be going for the meat he'd brough over, Wes glanced down at his plate and looked for a place to set it down. Finding none, he tried to hand it off to a waiter-looking person that had just popped up with a plate of shrimp cocktails (Ellis). "Oh, you know my wife?" he asked the man lightly as he set his plate down on top of his. He gave the guy a second, more piercing look. "How do you know my wife?"

Wes pretended not to listen to the girls discussing their mother, but that didn't last long. He turned back to the group. "She liked you, eh?" he addressed Dorian with a sad sort of smile. "She must not know the real you then." Only joking mostly. He gave his old housemate a good-natured slap on the shoulder.

Well then. Isobel hadn't been expecting that. She didn't tend to converse with her ex's siblings often. She didn't really want a reminder of them. But Ellis was kind of nice. She did remember him. Kind of. "Ellis?" She prompted, needing to actually remember if it was his name. Not that she cared too much if she got it wrong. "It's good to see you too...." Kind of. She didn't really want a reminder of Armen. So she was going to be talking about him at all. "How're you?" And if he brought up Armen she would not be too impressed at all.

Ahh. Wesley didn't know who he was. She bit her lip a little. "Wes....this is Armen's brother." Kind of awkward really. Talking about her ex-boyfriend to her husband. Hopefully they could just brush over that topic. She still didn't really want to talk about her ex.

"They are..." And very like their father. She wouldn't change her boys for the world though. She loved them. They were just like mini-versions of their father, apart from they didn't turn into wolves once a month. Something she was pretty glad about really. She smiled at Dorian though. Talking about her boys made her miss them, and she decided that she would try and leave early to go see them. "They are there much like their father..." Which she knew Wesley liked. Part of Izzy wanted a little girl, so she wouldn't be outnumbered in the house. But she was pretty content with her two boys are the moment. For now anyway.

Tasha lasts words kind of made the others less minded in Isobel's head. Her mother approved of Dorian? That was kind of hard for Isobel. Her mother didn't like Wesley. Not that it made any difference, because she loved Wesley and wouldn't be changing her mind any time soon. But knowing her mother liked her husband would kind of be nice. "She liked Dorian?" That kind of made it sound like she didn't. Which was not true. She frowned, glancing between Dorian and Wesley.

She really didn't get it. What was the difference between them? Apart from the fact that Isobel was pretty sure Dorian didn't have a furry little problem. But her family, not even Tasha knew about Wes being a werewolf so that really couldn't be the problem. She frowned, rolling her eyes. "Well mother had to finally like MLE..." Though she clearly was not very happy at all.

"Emily Social?" She asked, looking up at her husband was the raised an eyebrow. She really could not believe that. "I need to see that to believe it." Because Emily wasn't really known for being social. Though she would like to see this side of Emily. She would never meet a guy if she wasn't social. Though Isobel doubted that Emily was too interested in finding a relationship at the moment. She was like married to her job, something Isobel had experience with.

"Don't be mean..." Izzy scolded, resting her hand on Wes' arm. It wasn't like she was going to run off with this man, especially considering that it was her ex's brother. Though him putting his place onto Ellis' plate was quite amusing. Was Recard's brother a waiter? That was a nice job. She didn't know that they were employing waiters now.

"Clearly..." She grumbled, clearly not too happy with the whole her mother approving of Dorian and not Wesley. She knew it was petty, but she had thought that her mother would at least like Wesley a little. He was a department head after all. "She knows Dorian works for MLE right?" Because that could cause problems.

There was amusement there, indeed. "Now this, this is why I swear you are somehow my long lost little brother. We think too much alike, I think it's a bad thing for the world to have two of us." Rosaline babbled on, completely entertained by the thought. There would have been three, possibly.. but Rosa didn't allow her thoughts to travel. "Let's do that. Skip the boring orientation, I mean. And is it at all possible you're adopted?"

How had she been? That question was so.. vague. Mischief twinkled in her eyes, a smile playing on her lips. "Good, bad, busy, always moving.. you know? It's always something." Rosaline mused, taking her free hand to swipe at the same loose curl that had escaped her ear. "It was so boring without you when you left.. - the dragons miss you, by the way, -.. and we needed a new adventure, so Remmy and I discussed it, and decided to pack up our family and head back here. We both grew up here as kids, you know. Oh, and Melody. She's at Durmstrang, wanted to finish out her schooling there." Had she forgotten anything? "How have you been?"
He bowed his head, admitting his mistake. "Mrs McClane. my bad. It keeps slipping my mind - I think lots of people here would prefer you a Miss and not a Mrs."

It was all in good fun. This was their usual banter. It was just this harmless flirting that he did. He did not mean anything by it. He respected both Rosa and Mr McClane to do anything that would cause trouble for them.

He laughed hearing her. It was really fun how she went along with his crazy talk. "Don't let my mum hear you say anything regarding adoption, she will throw a fit." he told her, waving hello to anyway he knew. "She loves me too much to accept that."

Hearing alll about her kids, Cole smiled. "Hopefully you would invite me to your new home, Maa'm. I have missed them all so much."

After the initial polite nod, Dorian had essentially disregarded the young man with the shrimp, aside from the unacknowledged amusement at Wes’ acting as if he had been a waiter. Waiters didn’t generally avail themselves of the food, to his knowledge, but then he’d never actually had the pleasure of acting as one. He’d gone essentially straight from Hogwarts to chasing after his best friend across countries only to fail in what he’d been trying to accomplish. That was the past, though, and now he had Natasha. He’d just have to make sure nothing happened to her, and that was easiest done by making sure Gabriel stayed locked up in Italy. The man couldn’t come after him again there, and he had enough contacts to make sure of that. Although there were certain others of more recent annoyance who seemed to even indirectly come back like a bad knut, and an eyebrow raised at Isobel’s introduction of the newcomer to Wes. This could get interesting. He’d just prefer that Armen not actually decide to make an appearance.

His expression had turned pleasant again, or as pleasant as his expressions usually could get, as Isobel had spoken of the twins, however. That was another amusement. Wes having mini-mes, but then he had to admit that he wouldn’t have expected any different from his boss and former housemate. “Anything is possible. You might be stuck with three troublemakers for now, but things change,” he pointed out, a wry smile crossing his face. Wes wasn’t half as bad as he had been in the past, even if he still suspected his boss of seeking amusement by making him deal with certain former prosecutors and current department heads. Except, in a way, he almost would have preferred Roxanne’s glares instead of what had just been revealed, or even the topic of the fern infection. He wasn’t abandoning Natasha to the interrogation, though.

He’d just stay silent, even as Isobel had seemed to get even more unhappy the longer the conversation had gone on. He didn’t understand why their mother approved of him while obviously not so much Wes. That wasn’t his to determine. It had been interesting hearing more little anecdotes from their childhood, aside from the ones Natasha had told him herself ages ago, as well as seeing the photographs. He’d given Natasha another supportive squeeze, anyway, for support before turning to glance at Wes as he’d heard the almost teasing comment. “I can be charming if I like,” he responded dryly in a low voice, half-joking back. It was either that or another example of women being drawn to him for inexplicable reasons. He wasn’t even sure he wanted to understand that. As long as certain women next to him liked him, he didn’t mind if every other chose not to.

By all means, Rosaline was amused. "I'm afraid one of these days you're going to confuse some men into thinking I am, and then I'll have to let them down." She was joking, of course. The only one she'd actually considered, and worried that he actually did think what Cole was saying, was the head dragon keeper at the Australian reserve, Dylan.. and he had met her eldest daughter a time or two. It wasn't as if she didn't talk about her husband, her kids, her family all the time as it was.

The mere thought gave Rosaline a chill down her back, which she chose to ignore as best as she could.

"Aw, but .. we can share you, how abut that?" Rosaline was going to pout, Cole. She was. "I love you tooo, Coley Woley booo bear. I really think your mum and I can compromise on this," A playful grin followed her words, growing brighter within seconds. Rosa was easily entertained, see? And in truth, she adored this man. She did. There was no harm in how she acted with him, he was much younger in her eyes.. a little brother, really. Remmy never minded, probably for that same reason.

Rosa paused, stopping them both where they were as she cast a sideways look at him. A very serious look. "Of course, you know you're always welcome wherever my family is. The kids will be so excited to see you, and you must see our new house. Picked it out all by myself, with Oliver's help!" Grandfather Oliver, that is. "Oh, and Serenity and Harmony helped too."

More a less the two girls were there to see the house, considering they were five and two years old.. but still!

Maria was always clumsy on her first days of work or first days for anything. But all in all, she was here to have a good time and get to know her fellow mates.
Brad let out a breath. Thank god she wasn't hurt. It wouldn't have been a problem for him to fix her, him being a healer and all, but it would still suck.

"Oh believe me I'm fine. I'm just worried about you pretty lady." Smooth Brad. Real smooth.

He's not hurt! Yay!

"Oh thank Merlin." She sighed in relief, placing her hand on her chest.

Pretty lady. Maria looked down and smiled, feeling her cheeks warm up. Thank Merlin for blush make up. He wasn't so bad himself, if she may add.

"I'm fine, thank you." Maria smiled and was very relieved with not injuring this man "Again I deeply apologize for nearly drilling a hole in your foot with my shoe." She looked down at the high heels she was wearing.

This wouldn't happen if it wasn't for the major nervous jitters she was feeling. After all she was new here.

Bradley couldn't help but laugh. He had his accidents over the years and this was nowhere near as bad as most of the things he'd been through. He couldn't tell if she was blushing at his comment or if it was just the make-up, but he was hoping he made her blush. Brad loved making people blush.

Brad laughed again. "Yeah. Those things look like a deadly weapon." He never understood why women wore heels. They just looked like they hurt your feet. "I'm Brad by the way." He offered his hand for her to shake.

Maria giggled at his positive response of laughter.

"They're armed and fabulous." She teased and laughed at her own joke. Classic Maria Scott. "They don't hurt at all, unless I'm sprinting. But I don't think running in heels is a good idea." Maria was such a dork sometimes. "Brad. I'm Maria." Maria smiled and gladly shook his hand.

This was nice. Meeting new people was nice.

Laughing was nice. Especially when Bradley was able to make a lady laugh. He joined in on the laughter.

"Whatever you say. They look pretty painful to me." He would never ever understand women's need for high heeled shoes. Brad chuckled.

"Nice to meet you Maria. So you new around here too or have you been here for a while?"

This guy sure had a nice sense of humor.

Maria nodded and giggled, she would see why men thought these kinds of shoes were painful. They seemed to have women walking on their toes, pretty much. But Maria was used to it, she's had years of experience.

"I just moved here, actually. I'm barely learning my way around this place." She replied. It was tough being miles away from her family and friends and learning a new culture all in one. "How about you?" Maria asked Bradley.

Bradley was glad the conversation was leaving shoes without touching his converse. They looked a little out of place in what everyone else was wearing. Oops.

"Same here. Even though I'm pretty used to travelling all over the place. I took a couple years off before learning to be a Healer to travel the world. It really is an amazing experience." Brad was so glad that he had done that. Otherwise life would have just been plain boring.
