Alexander Greingoth EraAll historical records pertaining to Ministry of Magic RPG under Minister for Magic, Alexander Greingoth [IC January 2076 - December 2081; OOC January 2012 - June 2013]
Looking sharp as ever in his suit, Charles Taylor strode into the room oozing self confidence. Yes, he knew who he was, and pretty soon, everyone else would too. His brown eyes swept the room and focused on the balcony area. He rolled his eyes at the whole set up and just looked around, judging people within seconds of seeing them. They'd get a second chance when he spoke to them, of course, but if they didn't impress within the first thirty seconds, it wasn't good for them. He re-adjusted the IMC badge on his jacket that he'd worn just to be a good sport and eyed a nearby plant.
Victoria was actually excited to meet knew people around the ministry. She hasn't got to do that yet, and now was the time! With her being outspoken and a little daring, she would go up and speak to anyone. This time she spotted some man looked around all by his self.
"Hello, I'm Victoria Summit," she said, when she approached him and held out her hand with a smile.

Finding that someone else had already beat him to it he smiled gently at the woman as well. "Good morning to you as well."
When Victoria was saying hello to the man she spotted two others. Smiling at them she waved, "Hello! I'm Victoria Summit." Victoria looked towards the lady, "Whats your name?" she felt like she was in kindergarden again but if she wanted to match a face with a name she had to ask.
She looked towards the other man that said his name was Gavin Higardea. With her continuing smile she held her hand out, "Its nice to meet you Mr. Higareda."

Feeling uncomfortable, as usual, Ella stuffed her hands into her pockets and dragged herself along to the meet and greet thing. OH GOSH - this was awful. ALMOST as awful as her job title. Love Specialist.
How UN-Ella-like.
Not to worry, it was a job, and something had to pay for her upcoming wedding. Oh yeah, she was planning on pushing the boat out to pay for this shabang! She came to a stop, hovering behind a small group of people and just picked at her nails, which she had actually painted for once.
There was a few people around, but Victoria was making sure she would get around to as any as she could. When Victoria spotted a girl near the group picking at her nails, she smiled and held her hand out. "Hello, I'm Victoria."

She was excited about the fact she got this job and even though she has worked at a few minor places and has done a 1 year course in law, this was her first proper job. As she looked around, she saw she was one of the youngest (21) and started to feel quite intimidated being surrounded by more experienced workers.
With all the faces around the room she recognized just a bit she didn't recognize one of the faces her eyes has landed on today. Maybe, possibly she was new? Victoria lit a smile on her face and walked towards the girl. "Hi, I'm Victoria," she said politely.

She knew she should be more confident than she was feeling, but the combination of starting a new job which she wasn't sure of her exact duties coupled with the fact that she knew no one made her somewhat uneasy. Well, if she couldn't feel confident, she would at least appear confident.
Plastering on a smile, Mariel walked over to the small crowd of people. Most of them were engaged in conversation and she'd rather wait for a lull before jumping in. She merely hung back, taking in her surroundings when she noticed two women who appeared to be doing the same. Walking a little closer, she addressed them both. "Hello there.." she said somewhat awkwardly. "First day?" Of course she was just guessing.. this was for all employees, not just new ones, right?
Victoria was looking at the plants and trying to calm her nerve when she heard a voice. Looking at the young lady she smiled. "Hello" she said softly and then shook her head at her next question, "Yes, actually it is my first day. Is it yours?" It would be nice to meet someone else that was new, maybe even new to the area. She hated being the only one. "Actually new might be an under statement, just moved into my apartment yesterday and now starting a new job. A new start all the way around." which was very true for her in many ways.
She looked around an noticed another girl near them and Victoria smiled, "Hello" she said to the other girl. Then realized she didn't give her name. On the way up, Gavin was worried that he might have been late but after entering the room he began wishing he was. When he thought about it it might have been more ideal to simply wait until it was all drawing closer to an end then make an appearance.
As things were, that was no longer possible.
Sigh. It was probably for the best. Since moving here he hadn't had much of a chance to meet anyone and though solitude sounded quite nice it wasn't practical. Not in this new environment anyway. This meant that he would unfortunately have to make an effort...
"Hello." He said simply, to a group that had already gathered. he would leave them to do the rest.

Tyler entered the meet and greet that had been set up for new and returning employees, he looked around at everyone that had turned up. He knew that Adrian would be glad that he had finally joined the Ministry after years of trying to get him to join, just to get away from that muggle world that he had gotten himself sucked into. After Dylan had joined Hogwarts Tyler realised that he might as well join Law Enforcement again after years of staying at home to raise Dylan, sure Tracy spent time with Dylan too and took him out everywhere but it was not the same as when they were married and they went out as a proper family. He just didn't understand why she couldn't stay a few more years, he was sure that given a few more years that she would fit into the wizarding world. But nope she upped and left leaving a 4 year old Dylan in his care, while she went and married into her own kind.. the muggle kind. He couldn't believe that she had married a father of two! probably cause she didnt have to try and fit in anywhere at all.
He smiled at a few people as he went and stood near a wall in his own thoughts, he was back where he belonged.. in Law Enforcement.. upholding the family profession. His brother Adrian was an Auror, his father Timothy had been a Hit Wizard and his grandfather Alexander had been an Auror. Adrian just couldn't believe that Tyler had listened to Tracy and joined muggle Law Enforcement, he only did it so that Tracy wouldn't have to hide too much not long into their marriage. But how was Tyler supposed to know that once he got into it, he wouldn't be able to get out of it. Well now he had gotten out and was free to do what he wanted.. and what he wanted was to join the Ministry, he wanted to be an Auror just like his brother.. that was his goal. Also to meet some new people, he hadn't been able to socialise much what with a son to care for. But he was now at school and Tyler was free to work and meet new people.
Jack walked into the meet and greet, it had been a while since he'd been back and while the break was nice, he was sick of sitting on his hands, things at home had gotten...complicated to say the least, so putting his mind on work would be nice.
He started to look around the room for a familiar face...someone for his department....Millie even, just someone.

Elizabeth glanced up in time to see her husband come in. She looked at Gavin and Charles, not really being able to excuse herself nor did she really want to. Things had been a little difficult at home and she was happy that work was starting so she could stay busy and not focus on what happened. She couldnt help but glance at her husband a second time.
Roscoe finally dragged his feet to orientation. He'd been up a little late this morning, and hardly finished his coffee before he had to leave. Not his fault he hadn't HAD to get up for the past five years. He felt like he hadn't worked in FOREVER. Roscoe yawned discreetly and staraightened his suit, which was crisp and black.
Today was orientation, which Roscoe would admit he was not 100% sure of the purpose.. What exactly were they supposed to do? Meet and greet? Okay. He wouldn't mind meeting a few people, especially if any of them had jobs in Mysteries or Astronomy. He hadn't hung around people in too long.
Blech, another one of these things... Rowan kept the thought to himself as he walked into the room, Please at least someone tell me Mils'll show up... Not likely with his luck... So may as well try to make a friend that wasn't his wife right? After all, being part of security he'd need to feel like he should protect someone that, unlike Millie, couldn't protect themselves.

Beijing Pain wandered around the room, stopping briefly to chat and say hi to. She had no group to talk with, and she still had not run into anyone from her new department yet. Being part of the minister's office, saying hello to everyone she met would not be such a bad idea. She could get aquainted with everyone. She continued in her circle around the room.

SIGH. Gabriela felt that there was nothing she had done since she got to the Ministry except meet and greets and meetings and MORE meetings...when was she going to do something fun? Exciting? Take some risks? This was terribly boring. She envied her son right now, he must be having so much fun at Hogwarts...except for the whole Hufflepuff thing.
She stood near the corner and her blue eyes scanned the crowd. No Armen just yet, but she knew he would make an appearance at some point. He WAS department head, after all. She needed something to do to pass the time, so she surveyed the crowd some more. Hmm. There was a gentleman nearby who was dressed rather nicely in a black suit. Good fashion taste was usually a sign of good taste in things like literature, music, and social acquaintances. Couldn't hurt to get to know more classy people.
"Hey, I'm Gabriela. Accidents and Catastrophes," she said, turning to the man with a smile and holding out a perfectly manicured hand.

"I'm new in town myself.. I've spent the last few years in New Zealand." The woman did some quick mental calculations.. had it been six years already?
Green eyes twinkled with amusement. She was starting to feel at ease and hadn't realized that she had been talking without offering her name either. "Nice to meet you Victoria.. I'm Mariel Morgan." She glanced at a few of the others standing around, eyes lingering on a select few. Turning back to Victoria, she added, "So what department are you in?"

That sounded like an exciting place to be. "I was living in Australia, but after my divorce, my son and I moved here. For a fresh start." She hoped that wasn't to much information.
Mariel, that was a pretty name Victoria thought to her self, "Very nice to meet you." It was nice to meet someone quickly, "Oh I'm in the Game and sports department, and you?" Even if they weren't in the same department it would be nice to have a friend around here. She watching as Mariel's eyes went to others and Victoria felt herself look around as well.

Ian Amoroso, Victoria heard of him and how he was working in the Minister's office. Well since this was a meet and greet to all, she might as well get to know each and everyone that is in the same department as her. So far, Ian was the first.

It was now his turn to nod along as he listened to this woman "Ah right I see, so you already know where everything in the Ministry is.. so you could be tour guide for all us new employees" he chuckled as he joked along, usually he did that when he was kind of nervous and kind of nervous he was it was his first day at the Ministry and they were meeting people. "Ah well I am sure you will find out soon enough" cause now that they had arrived it wouldnt take long until the orientation was over and they could start working in their new jobs.

Dear. Merlin.
Why was it that no matter where he went there never ceased to be at least one clown. He shook his head at the man's shameless entrance. In his former field of work he didn't run into many people like him but when he did it was quite the spectacle.
"Is he always like that?" It was a general question that anyone could answer, so long as it got answered.

She merely hung back, taking in her surroundings when she noticed two women who appeared to be doing the same. Walking a little closer, she addressed them both. "Hello there.." she said somewhat awkwardly. "First day?" Of course she was just guessing.. this was for all employees, not just new ones, right?

She was excited about the fact she got this job and even though she has worked at a few minor places and has done a 1 year course in law, this was her first proper job. As she looked around, she saw she was one of the youngest (21) and started to feel quite intimidated being surrounded by more experienced workers.
SPOILER!!: Tyler

Melissa smiled when she saw more people enter the room. She quickly stepped forward eager to meet them because she definitely didn't recognize any of them.
"Hello, my name is Melissa Potter. It really is nice to meet all of you." She stuck her hand to shake each of their hands.
"I'm with the Department of Law Enforcement, Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office. I get to restore the artefacts back to what they should be. I hope you don't mind me asking what you all do."

Dear.
Beijing took Gavin's hand and gave it a shake. "I've never met him before, but by looking at his entrance; he seems like the kind of guy who would be like that all the time."
she said, cupping her hand over her mouth as if telling a secret.

"Ah well I am sure you will find out soon enough" cause now that they had arrived it wouldnt take long until the orientation was over and they could start working in their new jobs.
"Oh, haha, sort of" she replied. She was unclear whether he was being sarcastic or serious, because Beijing was not framilliar with most of the ministry. "That's right, I could lead a whole orientation group" she joined in. She needed to ask someone about her position so she wouldn't be compleatly clueless on her first day of work. "Ya I'm bound to find out sooner or later"she replied. "It was nice to chat with you". She gave a gental smile and wave.
Elizabeth glanced at the senior undersecretary and rolled her eyes. She smiled at Gavin and nodded, "Yeah, it would be great..." She glanced at her husband who came in a few moments ago then back to Gavin. She gestured to the senuir undersecretary, "Is he always self-centered, like that?"
He nearly snickered when she rolled her eyes but smiled instead. Yep the guy was a little nuts. Oh to be young again, right? "Eh, he's not bad really." he said shrugging. Then again, Gavin hadn't really had much of a chance to really talk to the guy. He'd taken position as senior undersecretary just before Gavin had been appointed as department head.

"Don Fret Good People!" Ian Amoroso said to the room, "The party can start now... The Senior Undersecretary's here!" He said smugly.
"'Ello, 'ello, 'ello..." She said looking at the ladies, "I am Ian Amoroso..." He said wagging his eyebrows... "Sorry ladies, you can look but you can't touch..." He was a married man after all.
Great Merlin's beard... Not this guy again... Of all the stupid parties Rowan had to go to Ian always seemed like he was there. Rowan wouldn't have minded it so much if he didn't have such a huge head.

Rowan sighed about to give up when he saw a familiar face, "Elizabeth!" He quickly went over to his father's sister in law, "How've you been?" He asked her kindly seeing how he hadn't seen her in a while.

Elizabeth smiled, "Okay, I trust your judgement then." She nodded and glanced at the guy then back to Gavin, "So department head... is it as stressful as it sounds?" She was actually happy for him.
