Alexander Greingoth EraAll historical records pertaining to Ministry of Magic RPG under Minister for Magic, Alexander Greingoth [IC January 2076 - December 2081; OOC January 2012 - June 2013]
Armen Recard had been there the whole time he just had made a big show of examing the buffet tables stuffing his face with shrimp and other yummy treats and checking out the goodie bags and trying to decide whether or not to swipe one of the autioned off items for himself.
Besides that he HADN'T been talking to the new employees like he was supposed to--but Alexander had told him to do that so obviously it wasn't too important, right? If there were any new Transportation employees here they would be smart enough to find him, he was practically famous these days. Only the MLE department newbies would be overly paranoid and talking/questioning every person they lay eyes on.
Armen Recard. What a douche he was. Pfft.
Tam pursed her lips slightly, but still gave a nod in his general direction. He was all over the news a while back and probably still riding on that high horse. Whatever.

All Roscoe knew so far, about what he was doing, was that he had to hang around a space-y room and study 'planets an celestial objects'. Which sounded like what he'd been doing since forever, which was fine by him.
"Ahh, mysteries...doing what? Or can you not say?" Gabi asked, smiling coyly at him. She was half serious, half kidding--could unspeakables say what division they were in? Or were they not supposed to mention ANYTHING? Gabi would have been awful in there, she had too much of a loud mouth to commit to secret keeping like that.

Suddenly out of the corner of her eye, Gabi saw Armen lurking nearby. EEP! Finally! She'd been waiting to talk to him for DAYS!
"Armen!" she called, waving at her love interest and scuttling over to him. "I"ve been looking for you everywhere! I have the most TERRIBLE news," she said with a dramatic sigh. With that, she jumped right in to her terrible, terrible news. "It's Tucker--he's been sorted in to HUFFLEPUFF. Tell me, would it be unreasonable to pull him from school and go with homeschooling?" she asked, asking the one question she'd been bursting to ask for hours now. She had been toying with the idea and really needed a second opinion. Tucker had practically BEGGED her via owl a day after he was sorted, but she couldn't make a decision like this lightly.
After she spoke, she very casually smoothed out her hair and her purple bandeau dress--she'd been in too much of a hurry to assure that she looked top notch for her meeting with Armen. Granted she always liked to look her best around anyone, but around Armen, she just HAD to look her prettiest. His opinion was the only one that REALLY mattered, after all.

Mariel nodded happily. "Me too.. I was a bit nervous, thinking I'd be the new kid at Games and Sports, but I guess we can share that title," she said with an amused smile. The woman furrowed her brow slightly. "You either? No.. I'm not sure what I'll be doing yet.. Hopefully something with Quidditch." Because gobstones really weren't her thing. "Maybe we'll find out today?" she added hopefully.
Victoria smiled as Mariel talked about children, "Oh I hope he does." She felt nervous for her son, but knew once they were settled he might make friends easier. "Oh his name is Bartholomew, but everyone calls him Bart." She wasn't ever thrilled with the name so she made sure to add, "He was named after my ex's father."
Victoria felt better as Mariel said she didn't really know either, then a smile crossed her face. "Hmm I think either would be fun. I've worked and played both, so I think I could learn my job title quickly of both, but I agree I hope we find out today at some point." It was more nerve racking trying to figure out what they might be doing then them actually going and doing there job she felt.

Taking her hand Victoria smiled, "Well it's nice to meet you Tamara. That is a very pretty name by the way." She had always liked that name. Oh the Minster's Office, that sounded like an exciting job. "That sounds very interesting. I'm going to be working with Games and Sports, I'm very excited to find out what I will be exactly doing." She couldn't wait to find that out.

Victoria had decided to walk around a bit and wasn't paying attention when she ran right into someone. Looking around and feeling very embarrassed Victoria noticed a man sitting, "I am so sorry, I was not paying attention to where I was going." Well since she had run into the poor guy, she should introduce herself, right... "My name is Victoria by the way, first day, so a bit nervous. Maybe that's why I wasn't paying attention." Yes that was a good excuse as to why someone might run into someone else..

Skipped the Yeti's? "But that was best part! They were fascinating, really. I love watching creatures in their natural habitat." Ella was nearly beaming from ear to ear. Obviously, she had a passion for creatures of all kinds. Her smile faded, but didn't leave when Natasha spoke her vacation. "That does sound nice. I can't recall the last time I went to a spa..." Probably ten years ago when she had reason to, but now... she didn't have time or reason. "Vacation is over though," she said with a longing sigh. "Are you ready to get back to work?"

He'd headed over anyhow, listening to the discussion of Ms. Whitworth taking more time off and thinking back to his conversation with Roxanne before the holiday. Apparently that hadn't quite been resolved, but he dec ided it wasn't his business. Not right now, and possibly not at all unless it ended up another level-wide case. And the talk of yetis caught his attention anyhow, as he walked over to the women. Glancing toward the brunette (Ella). "Were the yetis doing anything out of character?," he asked, merely curious. Especially if the woman had been watching them on her own, since that could have proved dangerous. But then he nodded his head toward the women in general before glancing at Isobel's sister. "Natasha. No more inkwell incidents as of late?," he asked, a wry smile appearing briefly on his face. Then he turned toward the group again, introducing himself a bit awkwardly. "Excuse me if I'd interrupted anything. Dorian Tamerlane."
Shortly after Ella mentioned Yeti watching to Natasha, she heard a man's voice ask about them. That's when she noticed that he had joined the group. "Not at all. They were behaving like ordinary Yeti." She smiled at the man. She had thought about answering that with something witty, but Ella wasn't really good with wit and probably would have embarrassed herself. Dorian Tamerlane was his name? Ella extended her hand for the man to shake. "Pleasure to meet you, Dorian. I'm Ella Wellington, Magical Creatures Department head."

Yeah. Perhaps Ministry of Magic letters of employment should include pictures of the respective Department Heads....
Ella sighed with relief that the girl wasn't upset for being run into. Ella was about to comment on her first remark, but then she said something about... zombies. Ella paused and glanced over at Kensi who was still not doing well. Turning back to the young lady with the beans, she let out a somewhat nervous laugh. "Zombies... I, erm... Are there zombies here?" Ella wasn't clueless, but maybe the term zombie was a little harsh for Kensi to be labeled as. Although, she did bite that woman's arm... Were there others experiencing the same symptoms? There were too many people to tell.
Shaking her head and hoping to clear it, Ella held out her hand. "Sorry, I'm Ella Wellington, the department head of Magical Creatures." Her brain was just too scattered currently to think straight. Zombies, really?

Gavin couldn't deny that he was a bit disappointed when she told him that there was hardly any problem within the Ministry; not that he was hoping for a heap of it seeing as he was in no way a thrill seeker. "I see..." He said, drifting into his own thoughts for a minute. Another relatively quiet job. He could live with it.
"How does the whole lunch thing work around here?" Just curious. It was important to know whether he'd have to waste his time leaving the building just so he could eat.

"That, I am not so sure," Ivee answered. "It didn't state at the job description, but maybe we could make some different breeds of plants." That would make her whole job way more interesting if they experimented on some plants and such. Cooooooool.
"I've got more than skills when it comes to Potions." He told her. Gavin wasn't want to brag--scratch that, he was a major bragger, but only when it came to things that he was particularly interested in and good at. "Unlike my Herbology Professor, my Potions Professor thought I was a joy to have." Who wouldn't consider him a joy? Yeah, he thought so.
So it was like that. "Well." He said simply. "If you do end up making new plants be sure to send me the details so I don't fall hopelessly behind like what usually happens." The woman seemed like it would have been the greatest thing in the world to go around making yet another species of plant with the potential to have him for lunch but he wouldn't complain. Whatever made her happy.

Isobel tried to go through her memory, thinking where she had seen the name. It took her a few moments but she got it. This man was one of her new employees. Perfect.
"Hello." She smiled at the man. "I'm Isobel Ferugson." Surely her name would trigger his memory. Hopefully the man would know who his boss was. Or her name at least. "I'm department head for the Department of Mysteries." Which if her memory was correct was where this man had been placed.
Well would you look at that. He'd run right into the boss lady herself.
"Yes, of course you are. I'm looking forward to working with you." He would even break the policy he'd made up not too long ago by extending his hand for a shake. Here's to hoping she wasn't one of those that preferred shaking until there was nothing left.
"Is arriving late a habit of yours?" He did notice her late entrance; how else would he have seen her and decided to enhance her day by pulling her into a conversation with him?

Roscoe smirked. He playfully leaned in near her, and whispered softly in her ear, "I'm not sure I can tell you, but I'll be working as a Astronomer..". He had to laugh a little at that. Let's face it, that didn't sound all too 'mysterious' yet. So for now Roscoe would be sticking to 'I work in the Department of Mysteries *cue wink and grin*. It made it seem cooler right?
Roscoe now stepped back and raised his eyebrows questioningly, "So what Accidents and Catastrophes do you deal with them?". Roscoe remembered she had introduced herself as working for that Dept. right?

He nodded "I am rubbish at that too! I mean I walked into this room today and I felt like.. where do I start with all these people. So like you I stood off to the side and waited for a few people to come to me. " he smiled at how they had started off very similar "Then I got the hang of it and decided to talk to others who felt a little lost. " hence why he had come to her in the first place. He smiled "Thats good that you have, wouldnt want to be stuck doing something that you dont love." yeah it was just not a good thing to be in a situation like that. "Ah ok thats good that they have pikced up" cause it was nice not to have to just sit there doing nothing for a department that you enjoyed working for. "Ah ok, thats a cool department. Does it keep you on your toes?" he asked wondering what kinda of job she did in Accidents. He smiled and nodded "Yeah so I see.. I guess that means you are great too since you said the people here.. and you are one of them so that means that you are great" he smiled as he noticed that she had said everyone there and that included her right? he smiled "Thanks.. I wasnt doing too good at first.. but I got the hang of it after a while" and he was glad that he wasnt as nervous as when he first got here, he was actually meeting a few good people here like Ashley here. "I work in MLE, always have done. At first it was Muggle Law Enforcement and now its Magical.. so always MLE" he chuckled realising that both were MLEs whether the 'M' stood for Muggle or Magical.
Ash smiled, shrugging her shoulders. "Yeah, maybe." His comment on reading people sparked her curiosity but she decided to save the interrogation. Perhaps her questions would be answered as they continued talking. "Seems like you had a good plan, then." Nod. "I guess approaching people in a work setting is always a little more daunting. Don't want to make the wrong impression or anything." And she smirked, raising a brow. The blonde couldn't imagine being stuck doing a job she hated, which was part of the reason she'd moved so far away from her family. "Yeah, I've always enjoyed working with potions so I pretty much lucked out by getting this job." But she was being silly, having not explained what it was she did in the department yet. "I'm a Potion Identification & Recovery Specialist, by the way." Which was quite exciting if you were into that sort of things. "It's the kind of job where you have to be prepared for anything, which is quite awesome." Cause every day was a new adventure and one never knew what they were going to find. The blonde shrugged when Tyler suggested she was great, a smile playing on her lips. "You can be the judge of that." After they'd chatted and whatnot. Oh! And did he say Muggle law enforcement? This really peeked her interest. "You mean to say your family are muggles?" Grin. That was quite cool, seeing as Ashley's Dad was a muggle. "And how are you finding the job change? Exciting?" Do tell, Tyler.
Tam pursed her lips slightly, but still gave a nod in his general direction. He was all over the news a while back and probably still riding on that high horse. Whatever.
As Armen took in his surroundings he noticed a woman look at him, nod and then look the other direction.
Was that some sort of greeting in her head? A very rude one if so.
The Transportation Department Head would have normally just ignored her (who was he kidding, he would usually point it out but that's beside the point) but he sort of recognized her--but from where? She wasn't one of his employees...and then it hit him. She was hired during his brief stint on the Minister's floor; that dreadful gopher spot Alexander had blackmailed him into.
Armen decided he would go have a word with the woman since she obviously recognized him. Taking a martini off of a nearby hovering tray the man walked right up to her and took a sip before speaking. "I thought I recongized you, Tamara, right? Of course Im right I'm not one to forget things. And I guess you aren't either--obviously a reader of the Daily Prophet." He was hinting at her recognizing him from the papers.

Armen had been hoping to catch sight of the lovely brunette now standing infront of him tonight and had wished it would have been sooner so that they could have giggled and made fun of the newbies together but she was here now. "Gabi, darling. So glad you finally showed up." He teased but she quickly went off into a hurried torrent of words, all concerning her son Tucker.
At first Armen thought something was terribly wrong...and he soon found out there WAS. "A Hufflepuff? Surely that hat's gone daft." Armen said with a furrowed brow. That old rag had been there for so long it was bound to begin forgetting that all the duffers were stuck in that house, Tucker was no duffer. A Ravenclaw like him at least, but definately a Slytherin like his mother.
Gabi was obviously upset, and she should be, but Armen didn't want her to think it was hopeless. Grabbing another martini for her from a nearby tray he handed her the drink and calm placed an arm around her shoulders. "Gabi, don't worry about it. Home school or even Beuxbatons are perfectly acceptable and, in this case, preferable alternatives. I assure you the cost won't be much more and I can always float you extra galleons if needed." He winked at her before planting a kiss on her cheek. Just because their first official date had been pushed back because of their busy work schedules didn't mean they weren't dating. "But tonight we enjoy ourselves and try to pick out which new employees will make it past the first month."

As Armen looked around the room for one of his collegues, perhaps Althea, he was suddenly smashed into by some woman who was eother not paying attention or was dumb enough to think he was a door--spilling some of his martini ON HER in the process. "Huhhhhhh." He sighed audiablly.
He looked at her boredly as she quickly explained how she was new and all that jazz and how she introduced herself. After waiting another minute and switching his glass to the other hand and shaking the liquid off of the his now wet hand, he spoke to her. "Victoria, if you plan on keeping your position here at the Ministry beyond tonight's festivities I suggest you begin watching where it is you are walking."
"On a different note you will be pleased to know that I am Armen Recard, Department Head of Magical Transportation, yes." Because she was surely wondering that in her head since she had recognized him from all the publicity he had had as of late.
Mariel smiled in relief. Thankfully the woman was friendly and didn't just bite her head off for running into her. "Hi Elizabeth.. I'm Mariel," she answered in return. "Oh, African Ambassador.. that sounds really interesting." Mariel loved to travel to other countries, but had never been to Africa. She'd have to change that. "I'm in Games and Sports."
Elizabeth smiled, "Pleasure meeting you." She laughed, "I wouldnt know yet though... I used to be the Magical Countries Ambassador which was really fun." She looked at the lady, "Games and Sports? How delighful!" She grinned.

He hadn't really listened to the marital conversation because he'd been staring out the zombie, but when he heard 'ambassador', Charles looked over at the couple slightly blankly. What? Were they talking about him? O__O He was about to open his mouth, but zombie lady distracted him by shoving her money pouch in his direction. Surprised, Charles shook his head and pushed it back toward her. "It's fine, I can replace my shoes." Couldn't do it YET though. UGH. Melty shoes for the rest of the day. "Just... focus on getting better, Ma'am." And not throwing up on him again.
Kensi glanced at the bitten woman, her eyes furrowed in misery..."No.I'm NOT all right..." she said softly, eyeing the woman's arm...was she hurt? She hoped not. she really did.
She also hoped her illness couldn't be contracted...through a bite...
Jerkhead threw her money back at her, and she merely shrugged. "Whatever. Your shoes look a lot better now, anyways..." she said in an attempt to cheer herself up...nothing like some healthy sarcasm...it worked! She made herself Smiiiirk! Hehe!
But then her stomach began to growl and churn and UGH so she immediately looked sick again..she was sure her was face was so pale it was green now...she had looked awful this morning in the mirror....

Exchanging a brief glance with the woman behind Kensi’s back was all Tasha had time for before Kensi sat fire to a man’s SHOES! The man was resourceful though and put the fire out before the fire spread. A PLUS in her book.
Blinking she turned to Kensi as she thanked her. "Uh, you’re welcome dear. You should really think about taking some time off from work. Mr Ferguson will surely not object to that.” Taking a step back from Kensi she looked over at Lights. "I think I heard someone say that Mr Ferguson is in the Food area. It might be wise if you escorted Kensi to him so that she requests some time off before something else happens." Tasha suggested of consideration only for the very sick woman.
ESCORT?!?! Kensi shot Natasha A GLARRREE! She put her hands on her hips..."I do NOT need to be 'escorted.' I am not a criminal!" she cried, a bit outraged by this...Merlin...PEOPLE ARE WERE FREAKING ANNOYING NOW!

He knew most of the current MLE employees after the training several months earlier, at least by name. And he knew a few others outside of Level Two, although he wasn't about to wait to see if any of them were there. Odds were that they were. He'd managed to get convinced to attend, and he had to admit this was slightly better than what he'd done most of the holiday. Namely, reading at home with Lorelai, waiting for her to reach her burning period. Exciting stuff, but then at least nothing new had happened in Italy. He'd written for an update, which he'd gotten about a week ago. Gabriel wasn't back to his tricks of trying for a transfer, and he was still alive. Oddly enough both were facts that made him feel better, even though the latter probably should have been worrisome.
Glancing around the room, his height helping him slightly, he managed to locate at least one familiar blonde figure waving toward someone who proved to be Isobel, over with Ms. Whitworth, who looked a bit worse for wear, Lights, and another woman who he wasn't as familiar with.
And then, to annoy Kensi even MORE Dorian came over..and just started talking! The redhead scowled and rolled her eyes..."How very nice of y-" but before she could finish her sentence, her eyes rolled back and she seemed like she might faint; she fell a little but caught herself(SOMEHOW!?) and when he straightened up she was standing, slumped a little, her eyes glazed, her mouth hung open, drool dripping down steadily from her mouth. She then raised her arms out in front of her...and started walking towards Dorian...making strange noises...and she didn't seem to be able to control what she was doing.
No thoughts. Just walking forward, really...towards the man...Dorian...
Droooooool drool drool.

It was not a good feeling.
So, there he was, making his way through the crowd of new and old employees in the hope of finding a more peaceful corner. Also, this holiday made him forget how uncomfortable he sometimes felt in suits and shirts, rather than t-shirts and his favourite jeans. Nevertheless, he was back in a dark suit and a white shirt, but no tie. Maybe he could also get rid of his coat later, and then he could feel a bit more comfortable.
Soon enough, Konrad forgot all about the suit when he spotted Roxanne, his feet instantly walking by themselves towards her, a wide grin back on his face. "Hi, gorgeous," he said, leaning down to kiss her cheek. And... surprise! There was no stubble! Heheee.
And speak of the devil.....
"Hey, baby," Roxanne replied, turning her cheek to meet his lips and 'accidentally' making him come into contact with the corner of her mouth instead. What, they were engaged after all, so who cared if they were being a bit cutesy with each other? It was their right! And what was that? No stubble? She actually kind of missed it. It was so much a part of Konrad....
"Meet anyone new from your department, yet?" Because she hadn't, obviously. Not that there wasn't plenty of time to do so. This whole fiesta was supposed to last all day. If everyone stayed that long, that was.

Victoria looked down at her outfit and frowned, it was her fault for bumping into him, but did he have to spill his drink on her and now she felt like he was being rude... or was he just that full of himself. She felt like a child under his look, but why should she feel like a child. She couldn't be much younger then him. This was just a little to awkward.
Victoria then tried to compose herself and act a bit more smug then before. Did he really just threaten her job? Who did he think he was, oh wait someone important by the way he just introduced himself. Giving a smirk, "Oh well it is nice to meet you Mr. Recard. I wasn't aware that any department heads would be here." Yes, meaning I had no clue nor did not care really who you were.

"Hello there" she walked towards her "I'm Julia Smith from MLE" she stopped and extended her bony arm. "And you are?" Another MoM staff I don't know.
So much seemed to be going on around here, Victoria thought. She did enjoy the crowds after all. But it was just that she had missed it and been away for a quite a long time. So when coming back to the hustle and bustle of the ministry seemed to take a bit of a time to blend in again. And as she stood there she heard someone speaking to her. she turned to the source of the voice and smiled at the speaker.
Another Smith? That made the secretary's smile grew even more. "Nice to meet you Julia Smith!" Victoria said taking the woman's hand and shaking it. "I'm Victoria Smith." She grinned saying that. How cool is it to meet someone with the same last-name!
Another MLE? Wow they were a lot of them. Victoria remembers seeing them right and left where ever she was. That's supposed to be a good thing ,right? "I work in the Minister's office. Level-one." She told the woman. "I'm a secretary." She added.
It was always nice meeting new people. Made the secretary refresh her spirit somehow. "So how was your vacation?" She asked Julia.

In his last job he was so happy that it didn't even seem like work. Getting lost in research, coming up with solutions, it was all so exciting to him. "It's good you like your job so much." She was officially higher on his list--annoying lazy people who didn't like work at all found themselves at the very bottom.
"Oh?" He could see why she'd be so offended then! "I'm afraid half the people in the lab I used to work in were like that. It was horrible trying to get work done with them!" Then others questioned why he didn't like people very much. Was it really any wonder?! "Do you know anyone from the Minister's Office personally?" If she did then she could give him some insight then the relevant persons could be properly ignored. Chatty people were the worst.
”Definitely,” Gia said, grinning. She always liked it like that, thrill without the danger of getting hurt or anything like that, such as watching horror movies. You could experience the thrills, chills and slasher moments without actually being affected by them!! True, no?
”Quite so,” She replied, a sad, far-away look in her eyes. This was how the story went: her former best friend, her bff at the time, found out she was in a different department than her. They had planned on being in the same department since they had met in their fifth year at the Bianchi School of Magic through Orchestra, so they could always be together, Minister’s Office to be exact. Gia had wanted it back then, eing the ultimate party kind of girl, but it wasn’t as appealing now. She had read about Accidents and Catastrophes, deciding that was the one for her. Her former friend took that as an insult and sign of abandonment, Gia having not told her. She soon got over it, Gia later having apologized about it. All was well-until word broke out that Gia had to move. The best friend got totally angered and boiled over, thinking this was the “last straw” of their friendship. She made sure to blab lies about why she wanted to leave, the bad kind, when the Catastrophes head was around in the food court. He assumed they were still best friends, thus believing what she’d said about Gia, almost getting her fired COMPLETELY. It all got straightened out in the end though, and they were no longer friends. ”Hopefully it will be MUCH better here for you!” And her, of course. It seemed promising so far, that it might be normal., yet fun at the same time.
Did she know anyone in the minister’s office personally? No, not here at least. ”No, I’m afraid not. They don’t seem quite that bad here, from what I’ve seen.” Quite more controlled than at the Italian ministry, mind you.

Anyway... Ivee had nothing else to talk about. She just felt good that she got to meet someone as new as her in the Ministry. SHE WAS NOT ALONE!
How convenient! Gia’s main family was still in Italy, but she had a cousin that lived over in Westminister, but that was about it. ”That’s quite convenient!” She exclaimed, wishing her parents lived here. Well, kind of. It would be MUCH easier to talk to them that way and ask them about ways to be a better obliviator, most importantly. They were senior Obliviators, after all.
She might not get a billion friends out of this event, but at least she’ll have one good one!!

”Pleasure to meet you as well,” Gia said, grinning. Undercover Buyer, eh? How interesting! That probably would be a good job for her, if she wasn’t an obliviator, especially if it involved shoe shopping. It was a longshot of an idea, but it still should be included, right?? ”How cool! I’m an Obliviator for Accidents and Catastrophes.” She is, indeed! It ran in the family, believe it or not. Her parents were obliviators, and so were her grandparents and great-grandparents. She liked to think of it is a way to pay tribute to her past relatives, and to remember them. That, of course, wasn’t the ONLY reason.

Noting the large group of people already gathered together, the blonde stepped off to the side and tucked a strand of blonde hair behind her ear, debating on what to do next. Truthfully she just wanted to eat, kick off her shoes, and relax. No time for that now, though. She was here to meet...and greet. Yup. So Ashley put on her friendliest smile and tried to look approachable. She stopped fiddling with her purse too. Best not to look so nervous.
Gia needed a fresh breath of air, after being squeezed up in the room for so long. She was quite claustrophobic at times, such as right now. Fresh air was definitely what she needed to soothe her sick feelings!
Walking through the doors and out to the balcony, she instantly felt better. Thankfully it was nothing too serious! After seeing all those sick looking people around, Gia was afraid she had caught their ailment. Sick, on the first day!! Boy, what an impression that would make! Certainly not a good one, if you didn’t catch on. Leaning on the balcony to get a little more fresh air, she let out a sigh. This was quite relaxing, despite the chatter of the large group nearby. Almost tempted to ask them to quiet down a little a lot, she noticed a woman standing near her, looking quite….”approachable”. Hmm, best strike up a conversation, and possibly take her mind off of the loudmouths large group nearby. ”They’re quite annoying, aren’t they?” She asked, trying to look as she did. Maybe, it would make her seem less odd and creepy, if that’s what came to her mind…
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
It was really nice of that one guy to let him keep his mangled heep of a unicycle at the check point. There was one problem, he had no way of getting back to his apartment. He came to the meet and greet area and just moved around not really conversing with anyone. Meet and Greet wasn't really his thing.

Cade took the woman's hand with a pleased smile. It was always nice to meet someone from her own department, and she did recognize the woman's face "It's hard to get out of our own cubicles sometimes. I'm Cade Howard, the IUMO division chief."
She turned to look at the crowd around them. Yes, the woman had a point. This was a pleasant diversion from their daily trials and a nice change of pace. "Something to look forward each year, I suppose."

Dear merlin.
So there was a reason why she didn't come across as boring; she was a loon. What did polar bears have to do with anything??? Staring seemed like the only thing that was making sense in this little exchange so that's exactly what he did until he was able to find the right words. "That's umm...that's...who in the world told you that?" When she said unique, she wasn't kidding!
At least she woke his brain up.
His expression was absolutely priceless, and Cade chuckled in spite of herself. He probably didn't intend to be humorous... and yet, he was. "My 7-year-old told me. She's full of facts, although most of them are dinosaur facts. Still, polar bears are nearly as interesting, I suppose."
It was really his own fault, since he was wanting to be entertained so desperately. It put so much pressure on a girl. "At least I didn't comment on the weather."

The room seemed to be filling slowly, and Cade wondered if it would start to feel over crowded soon. So far, it was still fairly pleasant... no crush of the crowd making her wish for fresh air.
"I've always found most Ministry employees to be quite pleasant. I haven't been at this event for long, but everyone has been happy to be here and friendly enough." Except for the poor woman who'd been drooling and snapping at people earlier. That was sort of horrifying. Hopefully Victoria hadn't seen that.

He nodded once more "Yes I agree with you, I can see why its never a dull moment for your division." although there were never dull moments in quite a few of the MLE divisions depending on what sort of work you liked.
He nodded "Yes I think I will enjoy it too. Yes I do love investigating things, but I dont mind a bit of research either" he smiled as he remembered how much he had loved investigating things back in the muggle police department, getting tips and leads and investigating them. She then asked him a question "Well.. not for this division exactly.. I worked in muggle Law Enforcement for about 4 years. So I have done quite a bit of investigating any information we get, as well as done some undercover work. So..in that sense I do have some experience." well thats how he saw it he had some experience for this department even if may not be in MLE.
"We don't really track them while they're at Hogwarts, and we don't put the Trace on them until they're Hogwarts-aged, so we really only have an issue with homeschooled witches and wizards, Hogsmeade weekends, and over the summer. It gives us a nice break in between," Cade agreed with him, although she found sometimes that those long stretches got dull and made them lax in their attention to detail.
"Muggle law enforcement, you say? That sounds quite interesting. In what capacity did you work?" Not that she was an expert, but it was nice to bring some of those mundane practices into work. Perhaps he could offer a seminar.
Victoria watched the girl, was she surprised or annoyed that Victoria came up to her, she wasn't sure, but she seemed nice either way.
A pretty name? Was she kidding? Was Tam being PUNKED right now? She looked around swiftly to be sure. What the...
"Thank you kindly, Victoria," she said as she took her hand back and surreptitiously wiped it on the back of her skirt. The lady's hand was slightly sweaty after all. Yuck.
OH. Games and Sports. Tam Scam was pretty fond of Rex Vindictus so that brought a more genuine smile to her lips. "The Head of your department is quite charming. He is a great leader as it were." That was all she had to say really.
Heh.

Oh for the love of all things Merlinian did he REALLY have to come speak? Was he that desperate for conversation? Sheesh? Tam considered faking a sudden illness to avoid the troll of a man, but sighed dejectedly and plastered on a smile instead.
As the man spoke not only did her skin crawl, but her eyebrow crept slowly up. What the... "I am clearly tasked with being up to date with the employees of the Minister. Seeing as you are one who briefly worked for the man himself, I do indeed recall who you are." She may have sounded terse, but really it was nothing new. She only thought of the DP thing because he was CLEARLY living off of that notoriety... and sadly so, might she add. "You have returned to the Transportation Department, yes? Funny how the mishap with the Hogwarts Express occurred, no?" Was she suggesting Recard had anything to do with it? Not outright. Heh.
"Perhaps you didn't know that my husband was a member of the International Task Force? Trained with Casey Tate as it were." Meaning I make it my business to look into Ministry usurpers. Douche.
And how rude he didn't bring Tam a drink. So she kindly plucked his from his hand and swigged the remaining martini down before handing the glass back. "Refreshing."
Mariel smiled pleasantly as the man turned towards her. Aww, and he seemed a bit nervous.. The woman couldn't blame him as she had felt the same way upon walking in.. but for some reason the fact that others were nervous as well put her a little more at ease. Perhaps talking to the man would do the same for him. "Yes.. something like that," she gave him a nod and friendly smile. "Learning together.. but separate." That was a kind of funny thought. "It's nice to meet you as well, Tyler."
She was about to open her mouth to answer his question, then the hint of a mischievous grin played on the corners of her lips at his next words. A guessing game might be fun.. "Why don't you go on and guess then?" she said as she smoothed down the pleats of her skirt and pushed back a few of her raven locks behind her shoulders. "Where do I look like I belong? ..and then I'll guess yours."
He smiled as she talked to him nicely, seemed a little nervous but not as much as he was. He smiled as she agreed with him "Yeah.. thats how I see it" well that was obvious he had just said so!! gosh!! he shouldn't repeat himself, but being nervous did that do you. OK deep breath.. and calm down she aint gonna bite your head off, and this isnt the first time you have met someone new! He smiled when she said it was nice meeting him as well "I am glad it is beyond.. me being.. all babbling and things" yeah cause it was not easy talking to someone who couldn't talk normally.. but hopefully now that he was calming down he would be a better person to talk to.
He waited for her answer his question when she picked up on the words that he had said in his nervousness and decided that she wanted to go along with it, oh boy!! he just HAD to say that didnt he?! Well it looks like they would be playing guessing games afterall! Mmm where did she look like she belonged? "Umm..." Mmm Transportation? Nope.. she didnt look the type.. if they even had one.. Environmentalist? looked like it.. kinda. Minister's office? yeah that looked like hers as well.. ok time to put those out there and see what she says "Ok.. well there are two.. either Environment.. or.. Minister's office.. am I right? Cause you do look like you would do well in the Minister's office." ok if he was right.. he was going to say that it was just a good guess cause he was never good at these games.

He smiled and nodded "Yeah I guess I did cause it worked.. I am not as nervous as I was before about meeting people." yup meeting people was good again, like meeting Ashley here was really nice! She seemed like a really nice woman to talk to, as were some of the others too! He nodded "Yeah I agree I guess it is, oh yes!! that is one of the fear factors in all this. Also the reason trying not to make a bad impression, wouldnt want to when you have to work together in the workplace. " yup cause that would just make things a little too awkward, making a wrong impression and then having to work with that person. He nodded along as he listened to her she then explained what it was she did within her department "Ahh ok, so thats why you love your job. You working with potions which you love as you just said. So thats good!" ok and that was very obvious why was he saying that? he had no idea! He nodded "Yeah you never know when you might get a potion that has the potential to blow things up" like a muggle explosive in a bottle "So I guess you DO need to be prepared for just about anything really. Cause I mean there are all sorts of potions out there, ones that are known and others that may not be known to us. So you wouldnt know what the unknown potions so I guess you really do need to be careful with potions." so maybe her job could be a little more dangerous than his, when he thought that there weren't jobs more dangerous than being in MLE, but apparently there could be.
He smiled "I can be? Well.. within the short time that we have talked.. I would say that you are very pleasant and very nice to talk to... so.. for now I say you are great. But I guess once we really get to know each other.. that could change" he chuckled as he joked with her, she was quite easy to talk to which he was enjoying very much. He shook his head "No.. we are pure-bloods.. but my.. ex-wife.. she was a muggle. It was her idea that I get into Muggle Law Enforcement. My family always wanted me in Magical, but... she didnt want to have to deal with keeping so many secrets about me from her family .. not long into our marriage. So I joined Muggle Law Enforcement for her, to make it easier on her to explain to her family what I did." Well there he had revealed some personal information.. but he needed to so that Ashley would understand why he did what he did, cause he loved her so much he agreed with it, but now it was all over. "Now that my son is off at Hogwarts I decided it was time to get working again" now revealing why he had joined the Ministry. How was he finding the job change "It will be different to what I am used to, I mean you dont get many misused muggle items in the muggle world when it comes to law enforcement. So it will be different but fun, going out there to check on a muggle artefact so see if it filled with dark magic or not." and he was going to have so much fun finally working in MAGICAL Law Enforcement after his brother Adrian had tried for years to get him into MAGICAL Law Enforcement without success.

Tyler nodded "Yes thats true you dont, or you all wouldnt have been too pleased with my son" he chuckled a little as he remembered the amount of times Dylan did some sort of magic without meaning to "Yes you dontm meaning my son now has a trace on him." He nodded a little more "Yes those would be the busy periods of time for you and your division" he nodded once again and couldn't help but agree knowing what that sort of felt like "Yes it does.. its always good to get a good break in between hectic times within the MLE." he smiled knowing that sometimes just tiny short break could make all the difference.
He nodded "Yeah? well at first I started off as a patrol officer, doing the usual patrolling of the streets making sure that no-one got into any trouble. Just to let us get a hang of being a law enforcer, after that it was many thing.. going around in muggle travelling contraptions to act on any information we had.. after years of doing that I did some undercover work. That was the good part, going undercover and taking a whole gang of muggles to imprisonment. I liked going undercover and fooling them before doing that 'surprise!' moment where you show them who you really are" so that was basically years of employment in a short few sentences, didnt want to bore her with the details.. UNLESS she wanted to hear about it then he could tell her.

Izzy hadn't really talked to Dorian that much when she had worked up on level 2. "Hello Dorian."

When her sister came over Tasha immediately engulfed her in a big. "Hi Izzy." They saw each other too little these days. Maybe they could remedy that soon with a sister’s only weekend somewhere? Wesley could manage the kids on his own for a few days, couldn’t he? "What? Oh, yes I am! I’m glad the ministry decided to hold this bonding extravaganza." Or feast depending how you viewed it.
"Who did you persuade to babysit the twins?" Tasha wondered curiously. Had their mother pitched in?

She then raised her arms out in front of her...and started walking towards Dorian...making strange noises...and she didn't seem to be able to control what she was doing.
No thoughts. Just walking forward, really...towards the man...Dorian...
Droooooool drool drool.
In fact, it seemed as if Natasha's waves had caught Isobel's attention, and Dorian had continued his conversation as the former Auror had made her way over to greet her sister. There wasn't any reason to interrupt, and it gave him time to just watch the room. Habit, even though it wasn't exactly his job. Ms. Whitworth really didn't look very good, but as expected, she was holding to her MLE strength and refusing help. Even as the tension seemed to be building while people just continued talking around the redhead. He was half-tempted to offer to speak to Wes for her, but before he could say anything, the others' attention was back on himself. "Isobel," he'd responded, as the Mysteries head had turned from her sister. "Things been going well outside of Ministry work?" He could have looked for Wes, and asked his friend and boss the same question, but it wasn't exactly a question one man asked of the other. Not when they worked on Level Two, and he'd turned toward the lone male of the group he had approached as he'd introduced himself with a nod. ""Pleasure to meet you, Mr. Taylor," he replied, glancing down at the melted shoes on his feet idly as he considered how formal an introduction was necessary. Things were definitely interesting over here, and he had a feeling he knew who had caused that little detail. Plus, so far they hadn't exchanged departments anyhow.
Until the Yeti watcher had introduced herself as well, and he turned his attention to the brunette. Leaving the response to Natasha's teasing reply to wait for the moment. "Well, with that information, I wouldn't expect a yeti to have taken you much by surprise if it had done anything odd, Ms. Wellington," he replied with a faint smile, taking the outstretched hand and shaking it gently. One would expect the head of Magical Creatures to know how to deal with creatures, after all. At least, she looked to be more than just a figurehead, and if she'd ventured off to Nepal on her own, it was likely that was a correct theory. And then he'd turned back to Natasha, expression taking on an amused yet outwardly concerned appearance at her words. At least she'd understood the joke. "So instead of the inkwell conspiracy staying contained, it's spread to include the stationery as well," he replied wryly. "Perhaps someone should look into that." Or not. Seeing as there were plenty of other cases to look into, even if de Talone had been apprehended.
Namely, the odd appearance of his colleague, as Ms. Whitworth had gone on the move again after her tirade at the others' concern. On the move after apparently taking offense at his holding back from joining the concern, as he had in fact heard the aborted sarcasm, even as he'd disregarded it for the time being. He held his ground at the shuffle towards him, though. Not even taking his wand out, although he sidestepped slightly as she had kept moving forward. "Perhaps we should take a trip over to see Wes," he said in a low voice, leaning forward so only she could hear. Not an escort, exactly. She obviously wasn't open to that wording, and he wasn't about to suggest asking for time off. Just a little trip over to the department head so they could consider their options. He didn't think the others would mind, although he was prepared to stun if necessary to avoid injury. Both to them and herself.

Thank Merlin. Ivee didn't have to zap him off with a random spell in her mind.
In an instant, Ivee was impressed with this man... only because he excelled in Potions. But was at the same time disappointed that we wasn't aware about these plants or anything related to Herbology, one of her strongest classes.
"Sure," Ivee nodded. This man seriously needed to know his Herbology. "You can rely on me with that." You can trust Ivee. Especially when it's something as important as saving the world. Well, yes. She WILL tell this man if they made new plants. He NEEDS those information, for the name of Merlin. No one seemed to be as ignorant on Herbology as he was.

She might not get a billion friends out of this event, but at least she’ll have one good one!!
Ivee nodded and smiled at Gia. Coooooooool. It wasn't so easy to make friends in such a new place, but Gia was relaxed and Ivee learned to like her in a way. Ivee hopes, though, that her friendship with the woman wouldn't be badly broken as her friendships back in Scotland. She got betrayed and broken. She didn't trust anyone else but herself. That's one reason why the Olivia Ratcliffe you see right now was quite a loner but was very independent.
Speaking of the Ministry, Ivee didn't know where Gia was. "What department are you assigned to?"

He barely even arrived, and only moments later, Konrad spotted his fellow secretary, who also happened to be a good friend of his. He grinned at her and waved a little in response, and he was actually surprised she hadn't said anything... yet. Yep, he knew the Victoria Inquisition was coming, and there was no way out. Unless he managed to disappear in that crowd, of course, but being such a tall guy... well, he found it impossible to blend in.
And then there was Julia. They hadn't known each other for a long time, but he remembered them getting along pretty well. He waved at her, too, a large smile still on his face. He was going to stay a little with Roxanne, and perhaps later they could talk, hmmm?

It was so much a part of Konrad....
"Meet anyone new from your department, yet?" Because she hadn't, obviously. Not that there wasn't plenty of time to do so. This whole fiesta was supposed to last all day. If everyone stayed that long, that was.
Baby?
Konrad's eyebrows went up as he heard that. So up they went that they nearly got lost in his hairline. He was about to protest, but she surprised him when she turned her head and his lips didn't land on her cheek. "Sneaky," he grinned. Heh, who was he to complain?
As for her question... "Nope," he said, playfully popping the P. "I wonder if I'll get assigned to be a guide for someone new, though." There'd be a high chance that the guide - meaning Konrad - would get lost. He was willing to help, because he knew how terrifying it felt for a while to work at the Ministry, and as a secretary, of all things. He'll always be in need of a compass, however. "How about you? Fancy giving some tours?" Maybe he should have signed up to go on tours, and not give them. Wouldn't that be fun?

Kyle hadn't actually seen Victoria there as of yet - until well, until she just appeared there looking delicious mind you she tipped her head up and smiled a lop-sided and sheepish smile. "Never better thankth dear" she smiled. Right lisping. She wasn't used to that strange sharp feeling of her teeth. Hearing something feint - like the sound of breathing and a slight scraping sound Kyle turned her head slowly to the right. It lolled slightly but she caught sight of the person making the noise.

Feeling uncomfortable, as usual, Ella stuffed her hands into her pockets and dragged herself along to the meet and greet thing. OH GOSH - this was awful. ALMOST as awful as her job title. Love Specialist.
How UN-Ella-like.
Not to worry, it was a job, and something had to pay for her upcoming wedding. Oh yeah, she was planning on pushing the boat out to pay for this shabang! She came to a stop, hovering behind a small group of people and just picked at her nails, which she had actually painted for once.
The brunette girl looked like she felt as awkward as she normally did. New fresh meat! She smiled over to her and waved, trying to say "come over join us" but instead all that came out was a prolonged agonizingly evil sounded groan. "CHloooomghe brains blarrrgh ugh " Yeah that didn't sound menacing at all. And said with bloodshot eyes, and a soft lopsided smile she didn't look slightly crazy at all did she?

Meet and Greet wasn't his thing either, but Wes did need to go sign up for a tour. Not because he needed a tour he had been working in the Ministry for the combined total of uh at least decade already but because Alexander wanted old-timers like himself to give the tours.
So there he was, making his way across this crowded.... entrance-hall-type-thing to sign up, when he suddenly found himself more or less stepping on a smaller man. Ergh, oops. Wes backed up and bit his lip to keep from laughing at the awkwardness of it all. Were his feet really that big?
"Sorry mate," he clapped the guy with glasses on the shoulder, "didn't see ya there." He nodded and looked for a different route past him--- one that wouldn't involve stepping on anyone.
