Elizabeth smiled as Charles said that he would do the idea. She glanced at Gavin as Charles asked the question. Her eyes showed a little admiration of her friend/ boss. "I hope I can learn as many as you." She laughed and smiled. "You two are truely impressive indeed." Even though she knew two less than Gavin and one less than Charles, she was amazed at it. She was enjoying the conversation and getting a little more comfortable talking to Charles again.

He narrowed his eyes once more, but before he could speak, Elizabeth had uttered words of admiration. He liked that. Very much.
"You're extremely close to catching up, so don't worry." He replied kindly, but now turned back to Gavin. "Excuse me, Gavin, but you just said you couldn't speak or demonstrate any Troll, yet you contradicted yourself by just telling me you do speak a little." Yes, Charles was feeling internally victorious.
Nodding as Charles spoke again, Gavin would make a note of it, and do a group of those interested in learning sometime early spring maybe. Once the orientation was done he was hoping to meet with the ambassadors as a group and make sure everything was done that he'd asked for before jumping into language classes.
"Absolutely. Charles is right here Elizabeth, the amount of languages you speak is impressive, and it was hard placing you in the right spot. I didn't want to waste any of your abilities." he said with a kind smile.
Turning back to Charles as he called him on the troll thing. "Well I speak one word in troll. But I wouldn't say it's one I should say in the presense of a lady. So no I don't technically speak it yet. Sorry."

"You are a gentleman, Gavin." Elizabeth smiled at him.

Of course he was right! He was Charles Taylor! Gavin would learn in time. He wanted to roll his eyes so badly as she smiled at Gavin, but refrained. It was HIM who'd reassured her, Weedy Boy had just jumped on the bandwagon.
Okay, so if he was right, Gavin spoke one word in Troll and it wasn't a pleasant one. Why would he need that? Charles could do nothing but smirk at the man. JUUUDGED. "Now, why would you need to know a word like that? Hmm?" Put him on the spot. Bahaha. Wait, he was a gentleman? No he wasn't. He was Weedy Boy! Now Charles, Charles was a gentleman.

Laughing he shook his head but looked up as Charles spoke again. "Well I only learned it by accident, it wasn't planned. "I'm in the Game and sports Department.. I guess I'm not sure my actual position yet, I'm brand new." She said a bit shyly. She wish they would have said what she was doing so she would know.
Then someone caught her attention, a guy. Well he seem to know everyone or at least at the attitude that he knew everyone. Victoria smiled nicely at him, "Hello" was he that confident or did he really know many people here she wondered.
Sensing belatedly that her nerves had made her come across more serious than she actualy wasn, Melissa grinned and shook Victoria's hand. "Hello Victoria. Boy am I nervous here."she whispered to her.
"I've been with the Ministry since I transferred back here, but I hardly know anyone here, and that's so embarrassing." Then she heard that Victoria wasn't sure what her actual position was.
"Oh I'm sure by the time you start on your first day, you'll know what you'll be doing. But I'm sure you'll be find. I knew what I would be doing when I was appointed to my unit, but I had to still learn how do to it." Melissa blushed

"You Are?? I'm so sorry that I haven't met you before." Melissa said when she heard that Tyler was in fact in the same office as her. "To be honest I don't even know most of my co-workers, which I am really embarrassed about. " she whispered to him.
Melissa looked around and was glad that the Ministry had decided to organize this meet and greet. She hoped to meet at least more people than she had the last few years.

"I really hope so. I like working with artefacts. They all have a story of their own. But there's a lot I want to do too. I want to be an investigator one day. But I know that I will have to bide my time and learn the ropes from the bottom up, like everyone did." She told him.

But he did love meeting people from other countries from the same departments too!
Shaking the man's hand excitedly, Melissa said, "Hello Gavin or should I call you Mr. Higareda? I never know whether calling someone by their first name is too informal or disrespectful." Melissa blushed. But she quickly changed the subject.
"I worked an an undercover buyer. My ability to speak other languages other than English helped me a lot. It was a very challenging job but I loved it. I miss working undercover." Melissa told him.
She sighed knowing that working as a Muggle Artefacts Restoration Assistant would never be exciting as doing what she did with the IMC but for now, she knew that she would have do her assignment the best she could and hope that maybe one day, she'll get to work undercover again.
Melissa could see that more people had arrived and made her way to say hello to another group of people when she accidentally bumped into someone.

They hated each other since the day they literally ran into each other and found out they share the same blood line.
"Oh I'm so sorry. That was really clumsy of me." Melissa apologized but then stopped talking when she realized that the woman was addressing another woman, who bore a similar resemblance to her. Sensing the hostility and not wanting to eavesdrop, she began to walk away.

"Hello!," She began saying to the man who had approached her. "I'm Giacinta, but do call me Gia." Her full name felt too long in her mouth. It was easier for others to remember a shorter name anyways, especially if it's more fun and quirky than before. It's also what her parents used to call her all the time back then. Well, except for when she got into trouble, which happened quite a lot when she was a child.
Look where she is now!
And another person!!!
Gosh, Gia was more attracting than she realized. Why else would all these people be coming over to her for?? It certainly wasn't horrid, because they would all have looks of disgust on their faces, and would immediately walk away. Thankfully, they didn't.
"Nice to meet you Bejing!" She said, smiling. The woman didn't seem to be all for handshakes, though that was quite alright with her. She wasn't exactly intent on shaking hands with others. She only did it because it was the polite thing to do. Polite people do polite things. That's just how it worked!
"Sort of...." Gia answered, in reply to Bejing's question. "I'm new to the British ministry, but not the job." She was quite proud of it, actually. Her mum and dad are senior Obliviators at the Italian Ministry, so that's one reason she ever started wanting this job. They were great people, make no mistake. She wanted to be just like them!! Why? Well, they were just such model Obliviators!
And, she needed to remember them...
"Pleasure to meet you Ivee," Gia said, grinning. She was quite excited to meet all these new people, if it wasn't obvious. She liked to surround herself with a lot of close friends, rather than only a few. That way if ONR of them abandoned her, it wouldn't affect her as much.
New employee, hmm??
"Yes, I'm new to the british ministry, but not my job," Gia nodded, quite excited to get back in the swing. It was quite boring for her, that vacation! Hopefully there wouldn't be too much more! One is fine, thank you very much. Her job was what defined her, mad her....her!! Okay, that might be a little on the cheesy side, but it is true! She wasn't really her without her job.
She could still handle a job switch fine. She'd be able to do it and not fail. Just not emotionally...
"Oh, okay" Beijing nodded as she listened "Im old to the ministry, but new to my job!" She was not old of course, only twenty four. But she had worked for the ministry for three years, and wanted to try something different for a change. "So is Gia short for something?" it sounded Like the short form of a longer name.

"Its fine, you werent the only one to forget to introduce themselves" he said pointing at himself because he had forgotten too! He shook her hand "Yes I think so too.. Hi Beijing.. its nice to meet you. " well it was nice to meet anyone that worked here in the Ministry at this moment.. since sooner or later they would be working together somehow, somewhere.
Well that was good, that he'd found work that he loves to do. Beijing was still, lost. She nodded while listening. "Ya it's not that uncommon, people do seem to forget to intruduce themselves a lot" . "So what does your position in MLE entail? Like, are you a paroll officer?". Beijing wanted to learn as much a possible about other positions in the ministry, it was part of her responsobility. So that was the reason for her interrogation.

There was some truth to this. Artifacts tended to see a lot in their time, though they didn't have any way of telling them what had been seen. "I see, well, you'll do well with that attitude." He remembered being at the bottom of the job chain, being trodden on daily. He certainly didn't miss it.

His eyes widened "Undercover buyer? You don't say!" Wow, she worked in the same area he had! "I was one for 5 years myself. It's a challenging area but a lot of fun." Nodding he understood where she was coming from about the missing working undercover "I totally understand, at times I do too."

Heh. Rude word. Charles didn't know any of those in Troll. Yet. He could understand wanting to learn Muggle languages first, but it seemed like hardly anyone spoke Troll. "Latin's useful. I'm definitely thinking on Greek, Swahili and Chinese myself." He mused, his eyes moving to the plants again. Oooh, Elizabeth spoke Latin!? "I'd love to join in on the Latin conversing." It seemed Elizabeth had a little bit of a case of starry eyes for Gavin. Poor woman.

I see where you're aspirations are sister, very low indeed." she quipped back,"I guess that's all you can afford. What didn't daddy leave you any money?"
She when to take a low blow and when to kick back."You should care about what I think of you since I am the only Dacosta that lives up to my father's name instead of feigning it's honour like you." Taking a dangerously close step toward her, she locked a cold, dark glare at her sister and said,"You came here after the name Dacosta was established and respected through me. You are barely my understudy. So, talk about embarrassment when you define yourself."
Easing back, Dacs did all she could to not reach for her wand.
Oh gosh she was most certainly delusional. Layla just looked at the woman standing in front of her, head tilted slightly.
Huh?
All she could afford? What hole had Dacs been living in? She was certainly out of touch with the wizarding world. Way out of touch, her retort didn't even deserve an answer, so it didn't get one. It was simply just not worth her time."All brawn and no brain Antoni. It's a shame. Father didn't need to leave me any money, even though what he did leave went to his legitimate wife, my mother." She fixed her with a scorned look. "My brother, Nathan is a top broker and my youngest sister is in university...we're doing pretty damn well thank you very much, I'd say my father would be proud of his family...very proud."
Layla didn't move when Dacs stepped in closer but she did hold her breath. If she was dressed like that she epected her to stink.
Hmph.
"When I got here I never heard of you, walking around with a stink face doesn't make you established. you need to cut your over inflated ego puppy."

As a child? Who taught their kids Latin? It was hard enough teaching the little snotbags English. Pft. "Definitely. I find I learn faster when I converse, rather than reading through language books." It was much easier to hear the pronunciation. "So what languages do you both actually speak?" Just curious.

Elizabeth glanced away from Gavin and Charles for a second and smiled. "Pleasure meeting you, Victoria. I'm Elizabeth Lupin." She was happy to meet anyone, not that she was techinally new persay but still yeah no... coming back after a year, people moved and such, "First day or are you a returner?" She laughed.
"It's nice to meet you as well Elizabeth," she said with a smile. "I'm returning here. What about you, are you new or returning?" she never saw Elizabeth around here, she thinks. Maybe she was new?

She asked, trying to break the ice in conversation.
Maybe working with these people was going to make her less of a wallflower.
"Oh how nice. You enjoy the Environment Department," she asked. Victoria always wanted to go threw working in the Environment Department. He friend worked there last year, but she never fully understood what it was like still.
Victoria nodded her head while saying, "Yes, I am. Seeing everyone again is lovely and meeting new people is nice. Are you enjoying it as well?"

Nodding as she said she'd been there for a year already and smiled sheepishly "I'm just finally coming out to meet people so I feel like I don't know anyone even after 10 years."
"That sounds like a lot of fun," she said with a big smile. Nearly every job at the ministry sounded fun for her, thats probably why when she applied she wasn't picky at all with what she would get. "Really? I do see what you mean. Just after a year I feel like a hardly know anyone as well." It was probably because so many people came and left.

He asked politely, glancing down at his scavenger hunt list and wondering if she was any of the below mentioned things.
She seemed to be meeting a lot of people from the International Cooperation. What a lovely place that sounds like to be in after all she has heard. "I work in the Minister's office," she told him.

So this was another one for the Minister's Office. Just how many people worked there? "It's nice to meet you Victoria. The name's Gavin, Gavin Isaacs, I'll be working in the Department of Mysteries." And of course he added a smile.
"It's nice to meet you Mr. Isaacs," It seemed she was saying the same thing to everyone and she repeating herself, but she wasn't. This was the first person Victoria meet that works in the Department of Mysteries. "How long have you been working in the Department of Mysteries or are you new?" she wondered.
"It's nice to meet you as well Elizabeth," she said with a smile. "I'm returning here. What about you, are you new or returning?" she never saw Elizabeth around here, she thinks. Maybe she was new?
"Both kinda." She laughed and smiled, "I mean I worked here for 2 years in the same department as now but last year I took off since I just got married and I had a child... so it is a little complicated." Elizabeth brushed her dark curls off her shoulder. "How do you like it here?"

Elizabeth nodded, "I agree with you. Conversing is probably the best way to learn it." She laughed, "I can speak all the ones I know but I usually speak English though sometimes I converse with Jack and my family in French. What about you?"
Dacs looked down at her watch and said,"Enough time is wasted here. I'll be speaking to you soon or maybe next time I should just beat the snot out of you since that's what you keep saying. If I didn't have any brains, then how is it that I am able to investigate and track our father's killer?" as she dropped her hands in her pockets,"As if you care anyway."
With that she looked up at another voice nearby her, that seemed to be addressing her.
Turning back sharply, she snapped,"It's Dacs to you. Antoni is reserved for people who I respect."

"Hey, sorry about that. It's my job to keep the riff-raff in line. Are you new?" she asked the woman.

Ivee smiled at Gia. She made a new friend, and that was good right? "And it's also a pleasure to meet you, Gia," Ivee had said. Ivee felt a bit better now that she had at least one friend. She's starting off the good path.
*Scotland, eh? How cool! Gia had always been fascinated by Scotland, with the Loch Ness monster and all that. She quite liked reading up in mythology and all that! It was very entertaining stuff, mind you. "How cool!! I transferred here from Italy," She replied, smiling at the thought. It was a really neat place! She had grown up there, and lived there most of her life!! She loved it, but she felt she needed a a break from it all, and explore the world more, expand her horizons.
Good plan? I think yes!!

Oh, she was so clumsy!!*
Gia was quite the clutz, make no mistake. She had the tendency to trip easily, drop things, you get the picture. It typically only happened when she wasn't careful, most likely too busy focusing on other things, such as right now.*
Please, excuse her!!
"I'm terribly sorry for that! You see, I'm just really nervous right now, being new and all," She rambled on to the man, who she had so obviously ran into. Gosh, hopefully she didn't do any severe damage!! That would be just dreadful! Think of ALL the apologies she'd have to come with it!! And then there'd have to be a "sorry" present which would be worthwhile, which she probably didn't have the extra galleons for. Not yet, at least.
Well, Gia should at least be courteous and introduce herself! "I'm Gia Barbieri," She said, extending her hand to shake. Hopefully she wouldn't make a fool of herself, which is the least likely thing she would want to do. She was nervous as it is!
Tyler chuckled "Well you wouldn't have since its my first day here, I have just joined the Ministry after years of pushing by my brother." he smiled "No need to be embarrassed.. sometimes some people" like his brother "Work more than they meet people. " he shook his head a little "But you have met me now, so I am sure we will be working together quite a bit.. being in the same department and all. " he then looked around as she did "So... you know anyone here.. that you could give me heads up about?" he asked wondering if she could tell him who was who at least, if she wanted to tell him anything else that would be good too it was entirely upto her.

He nodded in agreement it was not, so at least he wasnt the only one that had forgotten to introduce himself, but he must remember to introduce himself everytime he had met someone new. He smiled as she asked about his position, he shook his head "No.. no.. I am in Misuse of Muggle Artefacts, I am the control officer. So I go out there and have a look for anything muggle item that may have been misused. So maybe a teacup that thinks it is supposed to scare muggles as part of its job or something. " yeah he was going to love his job, being out there and collecting those artefacts "But I would like to become an Auror.. sometime in the future" he revealed as he remembered how his brother had said how awesome it was to be an Auror

Alex walked to the employee meet and greet, hoping to meet some new people. It was exciting to have this new job, it sounded like tons of fun. He had been looking forward to meeting new friends ever since he found out he got the job.
His bloodshot eyes looked around at all the people. He sighed and continued to walk around and suddenly, he ran into the wall. What the...? When did that wall get there? He blinked, staring at it for a minute. Erm...this was...weird. Why'd he keep running into walls, lately? He was never EVER EVER clumsy. He sighed and leaned against the wall, glancing around at everyone, hoping for someone to talk to.

Though with the way these people were acting you could never tell. Everyone was just absorbed in their own conversations. How did they expect him to get acquainted if they went on like that? He wasn't going to go barging into conversations; that wasn't his thing. "And what about you? New or returning?"
And why the Minister's Office. It just seemed so overcrowded. Too many people did NOT make the workplace a happy one. No, it just meant more people to be chatty and loud.

Caedwyn crossed the short distance to the meet and greet area, her eyes constantly roving the crowd for familiar faces. There were definitely a few MLEers in the mix, and she nodded to them. New employees? How would she even know how to spot them?
In general, Cade was in favor of mixers, but if the point of this exercise was for her to meet the new MLE employees... she'd much prefer plying them with baked goods and coffee in their own office. But that was her.

Elizabeth saw a guy run into a wall and looked confused. He had bloodshot eyes which was weird... She went over to him and cleared her thought, "Uh, are you okay? What is going on here?" She raised an eyebrow, "Why are your eyes bloodshot?" She looked at him and frowned.

Elizabeth was walking around when she accidently bumped into someone. She took a step back, "I am so sorry... I didnt mean to bump into you. Are you okay?" She grimaced and blushed in embarassment.
"Both kinda." She laughed and smiled, "I mean I worked here for 2 years in the same department as now but last year I took off since I just got married and I had a child... so it is a little complicated." Elizabeth brushed her dark curls off her shoulder. "How do you like it here?"
"Well congrats!" Victoria said with a bright happy smile. "I like it here a lot! Everyone is so nice...I didn't really expect that," she told Elizabeth. Victoria felt rude saying she didn't expect everyone to be nice, but she already said it and what she said was true.
