It wasn't a habit because she didn't need a habit like this but Constance did check her reflection on the glass window before entering the conference room. Constance didn't needed this habit because she knew she looked fine. Better than most even.
Upon entering, Constance smiled brightly. Ready to put on a show and what not. These people were certainly not getting out of their dullness with her not flashing them a smile of encouragement.
"Well. Hello there." she spoke up, yet again in anticipation to stop the little bit of chattering they had going on. "I believe some of you are still missing," Constance commented - remembering that she had been told she had quite a number of employees under her, certainly more employees than the ones standing and sitting in front of her. "No matter. No matter. We will get started anyhow. I don't want you guys to wait more, something which you all have been doing a lot lately."
Constance paused, to see if she had everyone's attention. And it seemed she did so she continued: "I am Constance Nightingale and as you all know by now, I am your new Department Head. I am thrilled and really looking forward to work you guys. I plan on getting us more active, efficient ..." she paused, making an effort to find the face of the employee who had greeted her first. "and definitely less dull." Constance couldn't help but grin at the girl before moving on. "Right now, I would like you all to introduce yourself. I know there are many of you who are new. So introduce yourself to me and everyone around you. The old ones should introduce themselves because, well, the new ones need to know you. " Noticing only then that .. the room was filled with women. Taken aback, her eyes turned to the only guy in the room. "Well aren't you lucky," she commented, placing her hands on her hips.
It was a shame. Constance would have liked to boss around more men under her. Hopefully her missing employees involve more men and not just this one. Him and .. "Gavin," she thought aloud - only remembering then that she had send him to do a job. "Gavin, yes. Hopefully he will be joining us soon and bringing in food, that I notice some of you are not touching." She said, flashing them another smile. "Well then, come on. Introduce yourself."
Dianna stood up.
"I'm Dianna Hudson, probably the youngest in this Department." Dianna gave a smile to the others and sat down.

Gabriela smiled politely at the woman she had been talking and turned her attention to the department head, effectively ending their conversation. This woman seemed to be pleasant enough, and she hadn't kept them waiting TOO long. That was a good sign in Gabi's book.
She ran a manicured hand over her hair as it was her turn to introduce herself. "Hello, my name is Gabriela Schaeffer," she said, pausing and deciding against telling them they could call her Gabi. They had to earn that level of closeness with her. "I'm also new to the department and I'll be working in the Experimental Charms Committee," she told them all. Apparently one of the only ones here so far, unless the others hadn't introduced themselves.
She turned her attention to the man who had just entered and began to eye up the fruits and veggies he'd brought in. Now THAT was Gabi's idea of finger food.

In her mind she debated if a cookie or a muggle donut would be better. Well she hadn't had one of those muggle donuts in such a long time. She was about to go for one of the donuts but the sight of Nils eating one right next to her made her laugh.
"Hello Nils, I don't mean to interuppt your eating, but wouldn't you think taking smaller bites would help the donut go down a bit easier?" She teased. Luckily there was some soda, it seemed, so he could probably take a drink of that to ease it down. "Anyways, it seems like our new department head surely knows what she's doing." She said, watching as more and more people piled into the conference room.
Nils wasn't quite sure how to take in the New Head of the Department.Constance-as she had introduced herself-seemed so sweet an sugary he could've sworn that sooner or later her nice personality would soon disappear once real work started.
"H-H..Hi I'm Nils Butler..I've been here for a few months an I've worked a few times with Gavin." He nervously introduced himself. There had been no need to mention Gavin but it was the first thing that came out of his mouth.
Nils dropped half of his nearly eaten doughnut off his hands but caught it before it could touch the floor. The voice had completely surprised him an had given him a split heart attack. He turned around as saw Natalia smiling up at him, "You gave me a heart attack! Please if you're gonna say hi to me,do it from the front-I don't like the element of surprise." He teased her, even if he could STILL feel his heart thumping fast from fright."I'm very good without soda.I mean-I already have a heart attack-don't I?I don't want a stroke with all this food.
I guess-I don't know-she could be putting up an act right now." He spoke to Natalia quietly
Zora entered the conference room. It was her first time though. She walked a bit slower than usual so as to explore or to look around this new place. It was brilliant, which reminded her that she was working now but not studying. As for her, meeting the new department head was excited. She wanted to know more about her boss indeed.
When she decided to take a seat somewhere randomly, she saw Kammy at the refreshments. She waved at her."Hey, Kammy! What kind of treats are there?"she answered cheerfully. She was always being excited when she knew that there were treats to eat.
Kammy shot the girl a smile and motioned towards the table, pointing specifically at the doughnuts. "Try one of those...they're pretty darn good!" she whispered, seeing as someone very important looking had just walked in.

Introductions? Hmm. Interesting. Kammy was very glad to know that this woman found this important. They did indeed need to get to know each other.
Kammy also thought that this woman seemed to be able to get work done efficiently...something Kammy liked.
Kammy then stepped forward, a huge smile smile planted on her face. "Hello, everyone, the name's Kammy Patricia. And no, Kammy is NOT nickname, it's my real name," she explained with a small chuckle. "I will be working with pensieves," she added, again wondering what she would exactly be doing.

It was her turn. She stood up, giving a smile to everyone in the conference including the department head. "Hi everyone. My name is Tiffany Zora Pevensie, you could call me Zora or Tiffy if you like to. I will be working at the misinformation office as a junior reminisciator. Actually I am new here so in case I do something wrong, please tell me. It's brilliant to meet you all,"Zora replied cheerfully with a grin.

As the rest of the department introduced themselves to each other, Gavin poured himself a cup of tea and settled into a chair listening. Some of them he knew from working with them, others he had met when they introuced themselves to him when he had offered help on their first day. The reminiscator did raise a slight eyebrow mid-sip as Nils mentioned his name as part of his introduction.
Now that's interesting, he mused to himself before figuring he might as well add his own introduction into the mix. "Hello... I'm Gavin McNally, feeling like the old hat of the level. I've been in the department for over 5 1/2 years, four of which was in Experimental Charms including time as division head and the rest as senior reminiscator in the Office of Misinformation," he said getting it all out before realizing he should probably tell of his latest task. "I'm also the department liaison of Level three," he finished before going silent for the next person to go or for Constance to move on.
Kammy entered the meeting, looking her absolute best, and spotted Natasha glaring at the refreshments. As far as she could tell, the food wasn't doing anything particularly unpleasant to Natasha, so she was rather confused as to why she was looking so angry! Hmm.
"Hey, Natasha!" she greeted warmly. She ran her hand through her long, blonde hair and beamed. She grabbed a doughnut, took a small bite, and her eyes widened. "yum! try one!"
best.food. EVER!
Natasha had just decided to do something about the appalling attitude some people held towards muggle food items when Kammy entered the room and greeted her.
'Hello again,' Natasha replied, lifting the corners of her mouth in her very best smile. 'Have you seen the muck some people are eati-'
But Natasha faltered and watched in horror as Kammy picked up a piece of chocolate-coated bread with a hole in its centre (Natasha couldn't help seeing this as yet another example of muggle laziness) and nibbled at it.
Natasha was speechless but when Kammy then proceeded to attempt to convince her to try one this soon changed. 'Iwouldnevereatsuchfilth!'
Natasha backed away slowly. She was baffled as to why Kammy would even want to try such a thing...
After listening to others introduce themselves and finishing her donut, Rachel stepped forward smiling. "Um, hi!" she started, giving a little wave. "I'm Rachel Smith, and I'm new here. Part of the Invisibility Task Force as the..." Oh no, she'd forgotten her job. She quickly glanced down at her hand where she'd written her job title down. "the junior temporary structure concealment agent!" That was a mouth-full. "And I look forward to working with all of you!" She grabbed another donut and smiled at everyone.
Yeah. First impressions, not her thing.
Neria came into the conferance room and looked at all the people. There were some familiar faces there, amongst them Gavin who had greeted her when she first got to the ministry. She straightened her skirt, brushed off her shoulders and went straight for the empty seat at the other side of the room with a confident smile on her face. She tried to make eye contact with everyone and recognize the faces. The job was more than just working; it was getting to know your colleagues as well.
As everyone introduced themselves, Neria waited patiently for her turn. She seized the opportunity, and stood up and gave everyone the confident smile she always wore. "Hello everyone, I am Neria Canterbury. There is no need to call me Ms. Canterbury, Neria will do," she smiled to herself, thinking about her private joke with Landon. "I am new to the Ministry and I will be working alongside Landon and Rachel in the The Office of the Invisibility Task Force as a Wizarding Event Concealment." She liked speaking in large crowds. Somehow it gave her more confidence. "If you have any questions, feel free to ask me." She sat down again and looked around to see if anyone was up for a chat.

Constance Nightingale. Hmm, what a unique name. At least she seemed nice and didn't want their department to be so boring.
Natalia watched as one by one everybody started to announce their positions here and finally it was her turn. "Hello everyone, I'm Natalia Tarasova and I've been here for about two years now. I work in the Office of Misinformation as a Junior Reminisciator; working alongside Gavin and Tiffany." She gave a smile and watched as the next person went. Phew, that went by fast.

"I've trained myself to have quick skills." He smiled smoothly at her.Though,he didn't have any type of skills, just the quick reaction of not wanting his food to drop,he didn't consider that a skill.Honestly, when a man was eating his food, never surprise them.Their food is their best friend,a happy time, their moment, they couldn't lose that."I don't know either, but she seems too happy..Don't know-might just be a trick on my mind." Mandie store around the room as everyone introduced themselves. She was trying to take in all the information, people's names, jobs; all that stuff. Mandie recognised a few from her time wandering Diagon Alley and gave brief smiles in their direction.
Once it was her turn she stood up, "Hello! I'm Mandie Elliott from the Muggle-Worthy excuse committee. I'm new here and I can honestly say most of you I've never seen before," Mandie gave a small laugh, "So it should be fun getting to know you all, you too Constance, you seem pretty cool. It'll be a pleasure to work with you!" She finished and gave a big smile to the new department head, showing off straight, whitened teeth and blood red lipstick.
She took another sip from her lemonade and watched the next person introduce themselves. Mandie nervously brushed her manicured hands through her dark wavy hair, she couldn't shake the feeling of people judging her.
Just as Jade was about to shake Rachel's hand and introduce herself, their Head walked into the room. She smiled and shook Rachel's hand and spoke quietly, "Nice to meet you, I'm Jade, a fellow newbie." She had introduced herself just in time since Constance had begun to speak to them.
They did the introductions in turns, both old and new employees introduced themselves. When it got to Jade's turn, she said, "Hi, everyone. I'm Jade Gemstone and I'm new to the Department. I'm in the Office of Misinformation, one of the new Memory Restoration Assistants. It's really nice to meet you all and I'm really looking forward to working with you all."
She finished her little introduction with a smile.
"Hello Jade" the department greeted the first employee who stood up to do her introduction, with enthusiasm. Her eyes turned to see who would follow Jade.

Coming back to Level 3 and the conference room, the reminiscator had two trays, each floating to make it easier to manuver through doors, especially the last remaining one allowing him access into said conference room. On one tray was three hot carafes filled with hot water, regular and decaf coffees and well as cups and everything you might need for the perfect cup. On the other was an assortment of rolls and bagels, fruits and veggie pieces. Gavin had tried his best to get a variety of items even the chosest person could want and slipped into the room as descretly as he could while introductions were being made, finally depositing both on the center of the conference table for all to reach.
Just when someone else had to introduce themselves - the conference room's door swung open and in came Gavin. "Gavin, you made it!" Constance chimed gleefully, noticing the tray that followed him on the air.
"And what good variety," she remarked, moving closer to the table to see what he had chosen to bring with himself. She was tempted to take something, to taste - but resisted, knowing that if she did something like that, her attention would waver away from all her employees.
Constance Nightingale is fond of good music, you see.

Oh.
Constance mind almost immediately wandered off, when the next woman started to speak. She knew that named. She had heard that name. And then she remembered, she had not heard it - she had read it. Read it in the list, she was given which included the names of the employees who had not been told their specific jobs yet.
Once she was sure, this girl was one of those - Constance brought her mind back to hear what she was saying. Waiting patiently, with that smile on for her to finish.
"Hello Gabriella," Constance greeted, once her newbie employee finished talking. "I am so glad you decided to respond to my owl and visit us here at the department." she said and paused a little before continuing. "I would really like it, if you meet me in my office once we are done here."

Well now. Such few males Constance had to rule over and one of them was clearly a little ... nervous. Such poor luck .. sigh.
"Hello Nills," she greeted him back, nevertheless. "It's nice to have you here." She nodded before raising an eyebrow out of habit when he said he had worked with Gavin. "Oh you have, have you?"
They were her manners that had her pretending that she was interested.

Before the next person could do an introduction. Another male entered and Constance kept her smile intact. "So nice of you that you decided to join us,"
When he welcomed her - Constance couldn't help but smile for real this time. Yep, nobody had welcomed her properly yet. "Thank you Kevin. And please to meet you as well."

"Hello Tiffany." She smiled her polite smile before adding: "And no need to say that. I am new as well. It's not much trouble making mistakes - it's learning from them, that's what matters."

Well then. It was Gavin's turn to say stuff.
Constance kept her polite smile intact and listened.
"Hello Gavin, it's nice to meet you" she greeted him like she had greeted the many other employees. She could not just start treating people differently. Even if her mind was already in the process of making opinions about everyone that was in the room.
Yep, it was capable of that. Even by just hearing their names.
Oh now? He was the department liaison as well? That was something Constance was not aware of.

Natasha backed away slowly. She was baffled as to why Kammy would even want to try such a thing...
Noticing someone occupied with other stuff rather than by the meeting they were called to attend. Constance couldn't help but butt in.
"Hello there," she called - eying the girl, indifferently. "You still have not introduced yourself. Who are you?"

"the junior temporary structure concealment agent!" That was a mouth-full. "And I look forward to working with all of you!" She grabbed another donut and smiled at everyone.
Yeah. First impressions, not her thing.
"Hello Rachel!" Constance greeted, noticing that the girl was finishing up a donut. "And I see, we will have no problem getting alone," she chuckled lightly before turning to the next person.

"Hello Neria," Constance greeted - finally deciding that 'hello' was becoming her least favorite word. "It's nice to meet you - and I will add that I really like your last name."
Yep. If Constance liked something, she appreciated.

I work in the Office of Misinformation as a Junior Reminisciator; working alongside Gavin and Tiffany." She gave a smile and watched as the next person went. Phew, that went by fast.
"Hello Natalia. It's really nice to meet you as well," Constance greeted once again - keeping her smile intact, even still.

"Hello Madie Elliot," Constance greeted - smiling geniunely when the girl spoke more. "I can honestly say, I haven't met anyone of you all either!" she laughed, lightly before adding: "It will be a pleasure too, to get to know you all and work with you all"

And with that the introductions came to an end. Constance took no time to treat her throat with some cool water. Heading toward the table, she picked up a plastic cup and filled it with water. She made a mental note to treat her herself with some nice juice once she was done here before placing the cup down and resuming her standing position.
"Now then." she began, taking a look at everyone in the room. "Now that I know you all on first name basis and you know me - I think we have taken a first step forward as a team" Constance could make boosting speeches all day long if you want - that's what she is a champion at, since the beginning - even if they would be fake, they would be effective.
"I would like you all to be at ease and not to worry about how things will work from now on. I will take this day to settle in and from tomorrow - I will be handing out tasks or whatever that I think your divisions need working on," Constance said, in a calm tone - looking around at everyone.
Bringing back her polite smile, she continued: "You guys can dig in, enjoy the refreshments Gavin has brought in for us, mingle around - make friends and feel free to ask me anything,"

Gavin was glad to see his choices had been favorable, for both employees and boss as Constance noticed his return and voiced her approval. He simply nodded, not wanting to disturb things too much and settled in listening to everyone's introductions. The reminscator smiled at some, making mental notes at others most especially the newer members he hadn't really had a chance to work with yet. He turned his attention back to Constance as she spoke up once more for the gathered group as a whole, an eyebrow raising slightly as ther instructions.
Mingle and get to know each other? Thats what the purpose of the meeting in the conference room was for? Hadn't we been doing that all along with people having been coming in droves for a while before the woman's arrival and seeing as Constance the department head was the only newest employee to the level. There was no giving out tasks or asking for opinions on what was already had been given out...no questions and answers though the woman had offered to ask any questions that any one had.
Oh well, Gavin mused sitting back in his chair and enjoying his tea. As the one employee who had met each of the others first hand when he welcomed them into the office their first day, the man wasn't sure about getting up and 'mingling.' He was friendly and good with working together as a team but he was quiet at times and the reminicator decided to be there if others wanted to talk to him but not being so forward.
"Hello Kammy," Constance greeted the next lady. Oh. Her name was Kammy? Not a nick name? "Well then, hopefully you wouldn't mind that I'll be calling you Kammy Patricia"
And with that the introductions came to an end. Constance took no time to treat her throat with some cool water. Heading toward the table, she picked up a plastic cup and filled it with water. She made a mental note to treat her herself with some nice juice once she was done here before placing the cup down and resuming her standing position.

Kammy smiled in return. "Certainly, I don't mind at all. In fact, being called by my first name by my boss is a big step up. My old one used to just say 'Miss Patricia'...I appreciate it," she told her honestly, feeling at ease all of the sudden with this woman. Sure, she seemed a little snooty, and maybe a bit strict, but Kammy could definitely deal with that. As long as Constance wasn't some psycho boss, she was fine with it.
"It's nice to meet you, ma'am. And I'm new here, as well, so we're in the same boat, pretty much," she added with a wink. Kammy didn't know whether Constance had a preference for 'ma'am' or for just plain ole' Constance...hmmm.

What? Did Natasha have a problem with these yummy treats? Constance had told them to mingle, so Kammy turned back to Natasha with a frown.
"Oh, come on. it isn't that bad. If you like sweet things, then you'll like it," she said with a small chuckle. She picked up a doughnut and held out at the other woman, egging her to try it out. Muahaha. Kammy could tell she didn't this food...

Mandie frowned slightly as Constance greeted her. Madie - What?
She seemed so nice that it was only in a small voice that Mandie said, "Mandie Elliott, Elliott with two t's"
She gave a slight embarrassed smile back at her and turned to go socialise with her co-workers over at the food table which was now filled with more healthy options.

Now it's time to mingle and she loved to mingle but Jade didn't know with whom to start with. She spotted the man, Gavin, whom she had spoken to earlier sitting by himself. She gave a little wave at him in acknowledgment wondering if he was really just jaded by the whole thing.
She couldn't be sure of course since the department was a little chaotic at the moment but they must do this every year in order to welcome the new employees to the department.

Natasha flushed as she realised that she had been caught not paying attention by the Department Head - not a great first impression. But no matter, that would soon all be made up for when she got to work and Constance realised just how incredibly talented she was. She took a few deep, calming breaths before introducing herself.
'Natasha Montgorse-Ayre, Memory Analyst.'
Natasha wasn't going to even suggest she was known by a nickname, as she didn't hold with such nonsense, and it looked like Constance didn't either. She closely at the woman. She had long, brown hair with a slight wave to it and brown eyes, and looked like someone who would be ready to sort out any problems that her department had. Which was good because Natasha had noted some already and was planning to inform Constance of them as soon as possible.
'I am new to the department and am delighted to be working at the Ministry. I look forward to working with you.'
She smiled cooly at the woman before stepping bck to Kammy's side.

Natasha had never tried food like this before and this certainly wasn't going to be her first time. Instead, she casually flicked her wand and a scrawny carrot stick came soaring over the tables towards her. She caught it deftly and, rather decisevely, began to chew on it, staring at Kammy all the time.

"Umm, what do you want us to call you?" Dianna said. "Department Head Constance? or Department Head Nightingale? or...?"

Whoa! There were refreshments, much to Dianna's delight. It had been a long day after all. Dianna took a plastic cup and filled it with the orange juice and sipped from her cup. Ah! Refreshing.
Tomorrow? New tasks and and assignments. This is what Dianna had been waiting for, actually. She wanted to start working and helping other people. And she was also the P.A.R.T. Urgent Response Officer, much to her delight too. She'll be in charge of Potion-related catastrophes and stuff. Yeah.

Katrina was sipping more juice from her cup when someone called her. Oof! Another woman.
"Ah, yes," Dianna said. Merlin, this woman was very hyper. "I'm Dianna. Nice to meet you, Mandie,"
