Mandie smiled and held out her hand, "I'm from the Muggle-Worthy excuse committee you?" The woman had looked slightly startled by Mandie's greeting. She caught it deftly and, rather decisevely, began to chew on it, staring at Kammy all the time.

Kammy simply smiled.
"Or you could be healthy. Probably better than these things, anyways. Full of sugar and fat..." she commented with a small chuckle, a twinkle in her eye.

She grabbed a carrot, following Natasha's suit, and smile pleasantly as she consumed it..well, it was not doughnut. But maybe it would cancel out all the fattening substances int he doughnut...that's not logical at all, she thought to herself, still smiling at the other woman.

My old one used to just say 'Miss Patricia'...I appreciate it," she told her honestly, feeling at ease all of the sudden with this woman. Sure, she seemed a little snooty, and maybe a bit strict, but Kammy could definitely deal with that. As long as Constance wasn't some psycho boss, she was fine with it.

"It's nice to meet you, ma'am. And I'm new here, as well, so we're in the same boat, pretty much,"
she added with a wink. Kammy didn't know whether Constance had a preference for 'ma'am' or for just plain ole' Constance...hmmm.

Constance smiled, deciding only then that she liked Kammy Patricia. "Kammy Patricia, it is then!"

Ma'am?

Oh she could get used to that.

"Yes we are. I am ready to start sailing,"
Constance added - chuckling briefly.

Mandie? Not Madie?

"Oh. I am so sorry, dear." Constance apologized, instantly. "Nice to meet you MANDIE Elliot!"

Constance's eyebrow rose. "What is unsettling, may I ask?" she asked, at once - her attention fully devoted to the next person who had spoken.

A person who had not done a introduction.

But no matter, that would soon all be made up for when she got to work and Constance realised just how incredibly talented she was. She took a few deep, calming breaths before introducing herself.
'Natasha Montgorse-Ayre, Memory Analyst.'
Natasha wasn't going to even suggest she was known by a nickname, as she didn't hold with such nonsense, and it looked like Constance didn't either. She closely at the woman. She had long, brown hair with a slight wave to it and brown eyes, and looked like someone who would be ready to sort out any problems that her department had. Which was good because Natasha had noted some already and was planning to inform Constance of them as soon as possible.
'I am new to the department and am delighted to be working at the Ministry. I look forward to working with you.'
She smiled cooly at the woman before stepping bck to Kammy's side.

Constance smiled seeing the girl's obvious embarrassment. Obviously, she did not want to make the girl uncomfortable - so she smiled warmly and heard her introduction.

"It's really nice to meet you, Natasha Montgorse-Ayre" Constance said, smiling still.

Oh.

Constance mind almost immediately wandered off, when the next woman started to speak. She knew that named. She had heard that name. And then she remembered, she had not heard it - she had read it. Read it in the list, she was given which included the names of the employees who had not been told their specific jobs yet.

Once she was sure, this girl was one of those - Constance brought her mind back to hear what she was saying. Waiting patiently, with that smile on for her to finish.

"Hello Gabriella," Constance greeted, once her newbie employee finished talking. "I am so glad you decided to respond to my owl and visit us here at the department." she said and paused a little before continuing. "I would really like it, if you meet me in my office once we are done here."

Gabi raised a perfectly plucked eyebrow. Meet with her after the meeting? Interesting. She couldn't be set up for a promotion this early, so Gabi had no idea what the department head would want to talk to her about. Whatever it was, she knew it couldn't be anything bad, of course--she'd barely been at this job more than five minutes. Not like she could have done anything bad or offensive yet.

"Of course," she said with a smile. Since the woman was preoccupied with other employees right now, she wandered over to the bagels that the man named Gavin had brought in and picked one up. Mmmmm. Finally something edible. She smiled at the man, who was being quiet and unsocial in the corner. Gabi wasn't usually the center of attention either, as other people usually were not worth bothering with, so she had a distinct feeling this man might be one of the ones she got along with in this office.

"Thanks for bringing the bagels. I didn't want to be rude but...donuts are not really my taste," she said with a smile. Yes. No saturated fats and all that for her.

Pureblood maniac? Her father? Now, Dianna could see where she got her insanity. Dianna sipped from her cup and nodded. "It's okay. Not really bad." Dianna remembered everything during her preschool times. The small slide she played with her Muggle childhood friend Kate Johnson. She remembered the little guy who used to have a crush on her. What was his name? Oh, Niko Walter. Dianna didn't fancy him, nor did anyone of the, since he was a bad kid. But Dianna remembered the time she accidentally used magic without her knowing it.

During a classmate's party, Niko had pulled a prank on Kate because she and he got into a fight. Dianna was so furious at him that she used magic absentmindedly. Niko fell into a pool during a game and he actually didn't know how to swim. Yeah, Dianna didn't regret that one. It was funny.

She couldn't be sure of course since the department was a little chaotic at the moment but they must do this every year in order to welcome the new employees to the department.

Gavin's gaze passed around the room as he sat, still staying involved even if he wasn't sure of joining in. He caught the wave of the woman from earlier...Jade if he remembered correctly and politely gave a little wave and smile back. The remiscator didn't really know what to say seeing as they pretty much covered most before the meeting.

"Very true," Gabi said with a head nod. Sweets were a temptation for her--something she had to regularly monitor if she wanted to keep her good figure. She'd reward herself every once in a while, but she had to be a good role model for Tucker. She didn't want him turning into one of those kids who sat around all day playing muggle video games instead of being outside and being active.

Not that she'd ever allow those ridiculous muggle contraptions in her house, of course.

"What division are you in?" she asked him. She had noticed that he made no introduction when they went around the room, and even if he had that didn't mean she had listened to it. She already forgot most the names of the people in here, and where they worked.

Mandie smiled and glanced at the table full of food, "I'm just going to fill up my drink," She said and wandered off to the food table, filling up her glass with the bubbly muggle drink called "lemonade" she decided she liked it almost as much a Butterbeer.

She'd had it on occasion as part of her course at Wizarding University. Mandie remembered one small work gathering she had had at University that included the mother of a Hogwarts student she knew. Mandie wandered back over to Dianna again and sipped her drink, looking around the room at the many people chatting and eating.

At least they were like-minded in that sense. Gavin tilted his head slightly as she asked what division he was since he had said it before in introductions. The man then silently berating himself for thinking everyone would remember everyone else after one mention.

"Obli--Office of Misinformation," he answered having started to say Oblivator division when he stopped and corrected himself. Gavin really had to work on that, the switch seeming to be harder then when he had actually switched divisions, but then he guessed that might be because he was so used to refering it one way even when he didn't work within and Frida was head.

"And you're from Experimental Charms...am I right?" Gavin asked, think back to what he heard but unsure he matched face with job.

"Have you seen the coffee? I need some...desperately," she asked Natasha. It was all part of being an adult, drinking coffee. Kammy had always seen the adults do it...so naturally, as soon as she started her real job, she had taken to drinking the really strong stuff. She liked it almost black. Nice and bitter.

EMPLOYEE ORIENTATION - IC DATE 1 JAN 2078, 9AM

Althea hadn't liked putting the orientation off, but with Isobel's wedding it had been necessary and besides it was nice being able to ease the new employees into things and allow them to get their bearings before throwing them in the deep end.

Thea had some nibbles laid out, and a few jugs of water and juice and the like, but the nibbles were covered, though the smells suggested something sweet and also perhaps varied sandwiches.

She sat near the front and waited with a quill and paper in front of her, as well as a stack of files. It was about ten minutes to nine.

TakemetotheBurrow 06-20-2012 12:37 PM

Ashley Green checked her watch for what was probably the hundredth time as she hurried towards the conference room. She was quite eager to attend the employee orientation, especially since her initial encounter with the new department head had been quite brief. The blonde was curious about the woman and in all honesty quite excited for whatever changes the woman had in store for them.

Opening the door to the room, Ashley slipped in and noted that she was one of the first people to arrive. Much better than being late, she supposed. Offering the department head a smile, she headed towards the seat on the woman's left, and sat down before smoothing out her dress. "Hello, I'm Ashley Green. I'm pleased to officially meet you, Ms. Schirmer" Ash said sincerely, before extending her hand to the department head.

Nordic Witch 06-20-2012 03:14 PM

Natasha Warrington smoothed out her skirt as she stood up from her desk. Taking a big planner from a desk drawer, an ink bottle and a quill the blond headed off towards the conference room to attend the mandatory employee orientation. With Isobel's wedding recently and all the planning and fixing off things last minute for it, Natasha had completley forgotten about the orientation meeting. Luckily though Althea had sent out a reminder memo so she had managed to clear her schedule without too much trouble.

Pushing open the door to the conference room some moments later, she took in the room as she entered. Seeing Althea sitting near the front with an employee unknown to Natasha she headed towards them. Claiming a vacant seat at the table opposite Althea she greeted her first with a beam "Good day, Althea!"

Gazing over at the woman beside the boss lady Tasha smiled. "Good day, I don't believe we've met? I'm Natasha Warrington."

Enigma 06-21-2012 02:40 AM

Angela hurried towards the conference room. Already a meeting in her first couple of days in the department? But it was just employee orientation, so no worries, yea?

Looking at her watch,. it was five minutes to nine. At least she wasn't late. That was a good start. And she was looking good. Yep, neat hair, neat suit, right files... yep, everything seemed to be in order.

Softly knocking on he conference room door once, she went in. There were already a couple of employees already in, so she gave both a quick smile and turned towards her department head, "Hello, I'm Angela Dawson." She introduced herself. "Pleased to meet you." she said with a slight smile.

Hey Ju 06-21-2012 03:00 AM

Derek and Althea already met during his job interview, righty right? =B

Sigh.

Derek did not like this kind of thing. Meetings always meant people. Sometimes even too many people. He deeply hoped this wasn't going to be the case this time.

He slowly walked towards the conference room. He wasn't late, so there was no need to hurry. Derek frowned at the already closed door. He would have to open it, everyone that was in would stare at him as he took a seat.

Great. Just great.

As quietly as possible, he opened the dang door and slipped into the room without making any noise and looking down at the floor.

Reaching for his seat, he nodded at no one in particular. "G'day." He mumbled as he sat down and stared at the table in front of him.

tiffyteddy 06-21-2012 08:37 AM

Charlotte actually loved meeting people, including her co-workers and the head of course. But then she just hated the feeling and the atmosphere throughout a meeting, always serious and stuffy.

She quickly rushed into the conference room and hopefully they were not talking about those very serious issue again. Since it was the employee orientation so she guessed that it would be okay.

She opened the door and stepped inside the room. She gave everyone a smile and greeted the department head. "Good day,"she said politely."Charlotte Wellington." She the took a seat and waited for the head to start off this meeting.

TakemetotheBurrow 06-21-2012 01:33 PM

Ashley was relieved that other people had started coming into the conference room. Not that she was afraid of being alone with the department head, it just was nice to not be alone in the spotlight, at least for the moment. She watched as blonde woman approached the table albeit quite cheerfully, and sat down across from the boss lady. So they knew eachother then, judging by the way she greeted the woman. And oh, now she was looking at Ash. Putting on her best smile, the blonde nodded. "You're right, I don't believe we have. I'm Ashley Green." And she extended her hand to her coworker. "It's nice to meet you, Natasha."

As more people filed in, Ashley noted that she didn't see too many familiar faces. Not that that was too surprising, the blonde was still relatively new to the department herself and hadn't seen much action since she started her position. Perhaps it was a good thing she had decided to attend this orientation after all.

Derek. Heh. Ashley offered him a genuine smile when he entered the room, noting right off the bat that he seemed a bit uncomfortable. She wished the poor guy would relax a bit. His uneasiness was even starting to make her uncomfortable. She made a mental note to invite him to get some food with her sometime or something. Maybe try and figure him out a bit. That was good friendly employee protocol anyway, yeah?

Wonderstruck 06-21-2012 02:20 PM

Violet walked into the room, giving a courteous nod to the people in the room already. Violet hadn't really met many people in her department, including the new department head yet, so needless to say she was a little bit nervous. But, Violet knew how to carry herself and was keeping herself calm.
