Aubrie walked from her corner to the table and sat down when the Head came in. So they were supposed to introduce themselves. Aubrie sat there sipping her coffee as everyone was making their introductions. When it got to her turn she said simply. "Hello I'm Aubrie Hampson, I was born in Chicago, Illinois in the United States. I have also lived in Peru, Egypt, and New York, but I now live right here in London. I work as IUMO's Deputy Chief Inspector for Statute Breach Investigation." Yep that was Aubrie plain and simple, even though she really needed to talk to Wes about a change in her division, maybe Hit Witch or Auror was the way to go for her.

KP1 06-05-2012 08:13 AM

James sat in his chair frozen. It had to introduce himself to everyone in the room. Not long after it finally came to his turn.He grinned.

''Hello everyone,My name is James Donelly.''He smiled.''I was born in Westminster in the UK.''He explained.'' And I'm A security Officer.''

BanaBatGirl 06-07-2012 05:54 PM

ALL RIGHT. Let's get this moving!!!

Hmm, Wes hadn't realized --- or perhaps he had, and he'd just forgotten --- how many DMLE people were from America. It seemed like almost every other person was American. Interesting. He made little tics and notes on the few pages in his first file folder as they all spoke, and then grunted and looked up when the last person was finished speaking.

"Well then. Welcome to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement to all you new folks, and thanks for showing up to all you old timers." He smiled at the 'oldies' in the room. "I'm Wes Ferguson in case you somehow missed that; originally from Sydney, Australia but grew up in Aberdeen, Scotland. I was a Hit Wizard for a number of years and then I became Chief Investigator of the MLES. And now I'm your Department Head." So deal with it. Heh. Introductions were done now. Moving on.

"If you have any questions about what you're supposed to do or who you report to, go to your division head first." He pointed to Cade, Ben, and Dorian. "Head Auror Jaxton Tanner is on assignment right now, but he'll be back shortly, and the same goes for Head of Security Gabriel Vartann." Or something like that. "There is no MLES Head at the moment but if you really need something answered, I'd go to Alysson Zookara, Hit Witch." Because she'd been there for a while and knew a lot of stuff, yep. "Additionally, if you have been here for a time and think you're deserving of a raise or promotion, fill out the form I posted on the noticeboard and get it to me by the end of next week."

All right. Wes nodded and glanced down at his notes in his first file. So far he'd accomplished everything on his list. Now for the real reason of the meeting.

"It's come to my attention, and the attention of your division heads," he looked specifically at the IUMO Chief, "that some of you are new and need some training, and some of you have gotten lazy during this peacetime and haven't kept up with your upskilling." Wes looked around at them all seriously. "At the conclusion of this meeting, we're going to begin a mandatory department-wide training....competition, of sorts, to prepare you all to work within any division of the DMLE and to see how well you work with others and pick up necessary skills while on the job." He smirked for some reason, probably because he was sounding like such a BOSS right now, and continued. "The five division heads and I will be leading the brief training sessions. After each head gives his or her spiel, you'll have a brief time to practice the skill and then we will apply what has been taught in an encompassing group exercise."

Wes looked around at them all expectantly and then stood up, taking his files with him. "Any questions before we move to the training area?"

He was sure his employees would all pass if they just paid attention. But Wes was also hoping they'd all had breakfast and coffee this morning too. They'd need it.

kayquilz 06-07-2012 10:42 PM

Kensi listened to the rest of the introductions...a lot were from the states, like her. Hmm, how interesting. She LOVED the British accents, though, so she was just a bit disappointed she wouldn't get to hear as many..they were so..enticing.

Training? A smirk crossed Kensi's face...this should be fun. Kensi didn't even know how well she stood here in the English MLE. Maybe she was waaay behind. And that would be terrible! Hopefully not, though...hopefully what she learned back home would help now. The redhead began to twist her hair absentmindedly, wondering about what kind of training this head guy had in store...she was excited, but that look on his face...she was a bit nervous as well.

Cassirin 06-07-2012 11:55 PM

Cade started in her seat when Wes gave her a look. She'd never ever said she thought her employees were lazy. Merlin. It was almost enough for her to give the man a piece of her mind.

But not in front of the employees. He probably thought he was doing her a favor by indicating she had the authority and foresight to come up with a program like this. Yes. He was doing her a favor.

Cade gathered her papers and stood as well. Training time.

JennMarie 06-08-2012 12:49 AM

Training!? Again!? millie couldnt take this, it was crazy, she had already been trained but didnt dare say anything, instead she just stoof from her seat as the other's did ready to be ushered back into training

lazykitty 06-08-2012 02:33 AM

While it was true that she'd been neglecting her upskilling, Roxanne would hardly call herself lazy. Just preoccupied. Anyway, it seemed that little problem was going to be fixed now. Now as in, well right now. Good as time as any, right? She couldn't think of any thing to ask, so she waited for one of her coworkers to come up with something. Hopefully none of the newbies would waste their time by asking why they needed to train. Would lead to explaining and she was ready to get started.

Luna_Midnight 06-08-2012 03:11 AM

Sky listened to each of the others introductions, there sure were a lot of Americans. Smiling at the thought of trying, it was fun last time she trained, well except that the dummy she carried go really heavy. Some of them had been lazy, hmm wonder who those were, acting inocent. Picking up her belongings she stood up waiting to be ushered to the big training!

KP1 06-08-2012 06:35 AM

Derrick listened to what the Guy said carefully. He didn't want to miss anything he said.He took a sip of his coffee and listened. After about a minute he wished he hadn't.They were doing TRAINING.

Hera 06-08-2012 06:46 AM

Gotten lazy? PFFFTTT as if SHE would ever get lazy. No she lived and breathed MLE. If she wasn't working, she was training, and honing her skills in every single area imaginable. She wanted to be the best, but most of all... she didn't want to die, and in her line of work... well let's just say her odds of living would be better in a bakery.

Emily shook her head, no questions.

But she was hungry, and not hungry for berries or pastry... no she was hungry to prove herself. Training and contests... bring it on.

dansgurl 06-08-2012 03:34 PM

He said what? Julia's eyes moved from the dept. head to the IUMO chief. So what now, ours became the laziest division? Pfft. The boss stood up and announced a TRAINING. Wait, training? Oh merlin. Those stuff was fun at most of times but seriously not that effective. People are recruited here after thorough groundwork about them. After all, it's "The MLE" Let's see what happens this time. Julia was ready.

HOPEendures 06-08-2012 05:13 PM

Heather had pulled out her wand halfway through introductions and had started twirling it between her fingers. It slipped and landed on the table emitting small sparks that seemed to echo her shock when one word was spoken. Training? She was an assistant not a Hit Witch. She did paper work not battles with evil. However, no compliants would pass her lips. She'd do the training exercises just to show she wasn't lazy.

Holmesian Feline 06-08-2012 07:50 PM

Well the term new certainly didn't apply to him anymore and Simon may anything but certainly not lazy, having been doing his best to keep up with everything he needed to learn. And what do you know...his time at University had actually helped in one situation so he was all good. But regardless they would all be training today...oh what fun. He listened carefully to what was to happen in the practice sessions before their group trainings, knowing it could all play right into whatever was expected of them.

With no questions, the YATI simply shook his head in confirmation and showing he understood so far. Looks like it had been a good thing he managed to actually get a decent amount of sleep the night before. There was no telling what exactly they would be up against in what awaited them.

Frankie 06-09-2012 06:04 AM

Robin had taken her turn introducing herself and had sat down to listen to the rest of what was to be said.
She was definatly new, and definatly needed training! She tapped her fingernails on her coffee cup, she was willing to stick herself into anything she needed to, Robin was determined to do something well! And do this job properly!
She sat looking around seeing if anyone else has a question to ask the head..

Jaxton was impatient. Seriously. He'd tried to hurry back for the start of the meeting - but he'd missed it. He heard them talking on the other side of the door and he pondered the pro's and con's of interupting Wes... or simply waiting until they came out.

After a slow five minutes of pacing in front of the door (and the voices still continuing the introductions); he huffed, crossed his arms and rolled his eyes. Trust Wes to do something for the "good" of the department when he really needed to talk to him.

Sod it. Wesley had told him to report directly to him when he got back... so that was what he'd do.

Without so much as a "sorry I'm late," the slightly scruffy Head Auror opened the door to the conference room, and simply stood inside it as it closed with a soft clang. He nodded slightly once to Wesley when the man turned to give him a glare for daring to be late. He shrugged slightly, crossed his arms once more and stood tall and proud.

Poor newbies weren't getting a very nice first impression of their Division Head. Oh well, all the better for controlling them later... If the last year's YATI intake were anything to go by... they would be hard to control and eager to everything they weren't actually trained for.

He stood and listened to the end of Wesley's description of the training day and he simply nodded as he was mentioned - ah well. He was back now. Guess he wasn't away any more - although knowing how the department worked, he could be away again in a few minutes of Wes needed something else done. Ah well.

Deezerz 06-11-2012 05:41 AM

Yvonne had the urge to narrow her eyes at the word lazy. That certainly did NOT apply to her. She ran her hands down her dress as if brushing off lint. Of course, she was as clean as ever, but her fingers ached to grab her wand and prove herself. She was patient though.

Her green/gray eyes momentarily shifted to the person who entered. Hmm. He didn't seem in a good mood. Whatever, it wasn't her business. She nodded at Mr. Ferguson in understanding. She was born ready.

BanaBatGirl 06-11-2012 03:30 PM

All right, no questions. "Let's get to it then, shall we?" Wes nodded toward Jaxton at the door. "Our Head Auror is going to be leading the way," apparently. "Follow him to the training arena."

Stormdancer 06-11-2012 05:44 PM

Jaxton simply rolled his eyes slightly as Wes told everyone to follow him to the training area. He wasn't a guide. Ah well... he guessed he sort of, actually kind of, was now that he was a Head Auror again. Sigh. Oh well.

He pushed himself off of the wall that he was propping up and opened up the door next to him with a slight flick of his wand. "Follow me, then." He said in his thick Florida accent - before he turned to leave the room. Destination? Training room. It was time to see what his Auror's truly were like.

Holmesian Feline 06-11-2012 06:06 PM

Simon glanced over as the door opened spotting Jax as he entered. So he was back in the office again, having been gone somewhere for a short period of time. And apparently he was going to pay for being late as Wes told them all to follow him which certainly didn't seem to please the head auror. Oh well...he didn't need to be told twice, the YATI pushing his chair back and getting to his feet before moving to follow his boss out of the room and towards the training area.

Fira 06-12-2012 05:13 PM

What?

They needed to move.

That was a pity because Josh was feeling rather well with all the food and fruit here. Those tasty goods were all going well while listening to the people around. Moreover, he had not yet found a way to prove Legend that Emily was a lady. He had not even started to think of that and now he needed to move for training.

Okaay.

Throwing a last strawberry into his mouth. Josh stood up and followed Simon, who was following the Head Auror, outside the conference room.

BanaBatGirl 10-30-2012 02:02 AM

Wes was set up quite nicely in the conference room; he'd pulled the files on the few infected employees whose names he already had, and he had a copy of Amarantha de Talone's big thick file on the desk as well. His suit jacked was already off and his blue shirtsleeves were rolled up to the elbows as he flipped through papers and made notes on a yellow legal pad.

The MLE head checked his watch and frowned. Meh. About time for another coffee break.

Dacs had some questions about how she wanted to move forward. But she had to run them by the big guy first, just to make sure she could do them or re-work her strategy. Entering the conference room, she saw Wes. He had files open in front of him and he looked busy.

"See your office isn't big enough for all of this work anymore." she remarked, her tone empty of mockery. As she took a few steps forward."Hope I'm not bothering you but I have a few questions about the zombie situation."

Wes looked up from the files, hearing Dacs' approach and recognizing her by her walk before she actually spoke. He smirked at her and gestured to the paperwork. "Or maybe I just got tired of shouting, 'COME IN,' at my door all the time." True, he had a lot of work already, but mostly he needed to be as available as possible when they had so many cases going on at once.

"You're not a bother at all. That's what I'm here for." Wes beckoned the division head closer. "Go for it."

She smiled a bit and replied,"Or that."

Taking a few more steps forward, she just spoke up right away."I want to know if we could have the food court shut down for a couple days, one or two at the most. You know I don't take long to work. We just need to be in and out and get some samples from the food and check out everything in there and clear so we can find out what's spreading this epidemic. Also, if we come across or get any reports of any symptoms that may be harmful to anyone from this, I want to quarantine all those who are known and are suspect of being infected."

Laying out her strategies, she waited for any kind of response as she watched him closely. She knew that right now, the 'zombies' were not exactly a danger to anyone but themselves and anything they may drool or hurl on.

and enter... Jax? :D

Hmm, shut down the cafeteria? "That's a big request, even if it's just for a few days..." Wes was frowning already, just imagining the hassle he'd have to go through. He'd probably have to talk to like, three different people in three different departments just to get permission to shut the place down.

But it was a good idea, and a request he couldn't turn down just like that. "I'll ask around about shutting it down, just for you, Dacs," Wes raised an eyebrow at her, "because I know you wouldn't ask for such a Ministry-wide action unless you thought this thing was serious. Right?"

Merlin, he'd have to go to Alexander with this one! SHEESH!

"I'm all right with the quarantining though," he nodded his approval. "Just wait until I hear about the cafeteria before you start doing that. We don't want to scare any of the... infected ones off..." if she knew what he meant.
