Hi all! Yvonne Baltazar made her way to the conference room after having her wand weighed and all that new staff stuff. She entered the room, her green/gray eyes briefly scanning the people and food table. She had eaten a bagel with cream cheese this morning, but some fruit wouldn't hurt. Before she moved though, she said, "Good morning, everyone." Yes, greet everyone with a confident smile. Then she walked over to the table, took a plate and placed some strawberries one them. |

"Good morning," he greeted politely back, taking a sip of his tea afterwards. |
Aron, and everyone else ^_^ (Feel free to bug Dorian if you feel like it. xD) Text Cut: the newly engaged (not at this point I'm assuming though) At least things were less, well, awkward than they'd been a while ago. Dorian still had to hide a smirk at the look on Aron's face as he'd realized he'd been spoken to, and he still gave the other man the chance to get caffeine in his system before really getting into things. Even given the earlier snarky comments in the office, which could have gone against him if Dorian had really cared to make note of them, he still respected his colleague. It had just been a speed bump, and things were back to normal. As normal as they could be during yet another influx of newbies. He'd nodded as the shop talk had been finally responded to, however, leaning against the table the coffee was on as he sipped from his cup. "You may be right, but I'd be interested to see the rest of the test results anyhow," he replied calmly. Not necessarily literally, but then there was obviously a reason it had been brought to their attention. He wasn't about to sign off that the cauldron was safe and have it turn around and turn someone else orange later on. The fact the others in the department had started to filter in didn't seem to bother him as much as it had Aron, however. He'd gotten used to being a senior member, both age-wise and in regards to time working for the department, so he'd merely nodded at Simon, Ms. Carter, Miss Browne, Aubrie, Ms. Caxton, and the others as they'd entered and wandered past his position toward the food and then the conference table. Making note of the new faces, and then just keeping an eye on the YATIs before the entrance of Ben. Of course the detective had felt the need to make an entrance. It had been too long in their side of the office without the antics of the MMAO head, and Dorian had kind of liked the lack of overt flirting. Besides Aron, but for some reason it had always seemed more innocent with his coworker and the women than the other man. Although, thinking back, he had also missed some of the randomness. After all the cult business, things had settled to the point the biggest surprise had been Evander stepping down, and that was rather discouraging. They needed new blood, and then they needed the project. Which he imagined would get brought up once Wes had made his appearance, but for now, he just went back to acknowledging everyone with a brief nod. At least Alysson had taken the initiative and tried to start conversations. Idle chitchat wasn't really his thing, and neither was sitting there waiting. Hence his remaining in his position standing, leaning against the edge of the table as he enjoyed what was left of his espresso. He'd sit once everyone arrived. |
Anyone? Julia entered the room, only to find about a dozen people already in there. Shesh. Always a late entry. Well. Not too late perhaps she was. The people in there were sort of chatting, |

Her eyes flicked back to the man's face when he returned her greeting, offering him another grin. Shaking Benjy's offered hand, Alysson tried to guess which division he would be in. Somehow he didn't look like an Auror, she could be wrong though. "Nice to meet you, Benjy." It wasn't that important for him to know her last name, was it? If he really wanted to know he could probably figure it out easily. They WERE working in the same department and all after all. And maybe even in the same division? "I'm one of the Hit Witches around here." She nodded slowly, her eyes wandering around to room for a moment, looking for somebody else from her division she could point out to Benjy. No such luck though. "What about you?" Maybe he wouldn't even be in the same office as her. |

She took a bite from one of the pastries that she had grabbed it was delicious!! She was happy she had skipped breakfast on acident, the pastry just had hit the spot! She looked around at the others in the room, she knew a couple others... |
Head Cabbage reporting for duty :P Wes came back into the room with two thick manila folders in one hand and his own steaming cup of decent black coffee in the other. He moved straight to the head of the table and paused, wondering why the hell so many people were standing when there were literally dozens of empty, perfectly comfortable desk chairs right in front of their faces. Perhaps they needed training in the functions of office furniture in addition to everything else. "Morning, all, let's get started. Take a seat." He sat down with a nod and cracked open the first manila folder, the one containing his new employee profiles. "I'd like our new employees to go ahead and introduce themselves, and then the older employees can follow suit." He didn't really care what order they went so long as everyone had their say. "Just go ahead and say your name, where you're from, and which division you work in. That sort of thing." Wes tilted his chair back slightly and took a sip of his coffee, looking to a newbie to start. |
Krys slipped into a chair as the boss walked in - even he knew not to mess with the head honcho, especially on your first day. Heh. He had to mentally remind himself not to cross his legs like a five year old - he had to be professional... at least or until people got used to him. Besides, he was part of the Law Enforcement department... Heh. Who'd've thunk it. Well... if nobody else was going to start... He grinned around the room. "Mornin'. I'm Krys Quinn, from Swords, Ireland. And I'm a Junior Trace Surveyor." he said. And so it begins... the first impression. Hmm, he wondered what people would think... he ran a hand through his bright red hair, not nervous exactly, but kinda hoping someone would take the attention off him. He was really confident around one or two people, but put him in front of a crowd and he wasn't the smoothest of talkers. |
Ah, coffee. That's what she had forgotten. Too late now. Heather leaned back into her chair even more and made herself comfortable. Then the Department Head finally joined the party. "Morning," she said smiling. Only polite to respond right? She sat up a little not wanting to seem lazy she sighed as people started to go around the room introducing themselves. Flipping her blonde hair over her shoulder she gave the room a dazzling smile, "I am Heather Malfoy. I am from England. I am the Administrative Assistant for the Wizengamot." She leaned back into her chair again and just stared around the room waiting for the rest. |

Soon enough, a young new kid started making his way toward Ben, yanking the Detective from his concentration. Ben tried to observe everything he could. Bright Red Hair, Green eyes, about 6 ft, early 20's.... Itching for his wand- Cross it off as nervousness.... Looking to suck up to me. Irish. Probably went to Hogwarts/Slytherin. Benjamin stood when the new guy approached hi, Nice impression, Rice Krispie. Irish accent. I was right. "Morning, I'm Detective Benjamin Amsten; Director of the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Offices," said the New Yorker. Ben offered a welcoming smile. He liked him, but Krispie wasn't in his offices. Shame. Ben wanted to offer a handshake, but the boss-man entered the room. Ben gave a look to Kryspin before sitting down once more. Quote:

He deserved it. He had manners. Quote:
The Auror took her plate and sat next to Krys. He was the only one she knew and that would have to do. After carefully listening to what they were supposed to do, and after Krys was done she stood up. Yes, because she needed to be presentable and sitting down would make her seem like a slouch. Yvonne Baltazar was no slouch. "Good morning, everyone," she said, confidently. "I'm Yvonne Baltazar, from Boston, Massachusetts, and I've currently joined the Aurors division." When she was done with her introduction she gracefully sat back down. |
Text Cut: Alysson & Sky Hmmm... Was she hungry?... She kept looking at the pastries... Benjy couldn't help but wonder, until she had continued on. Well... would you look at that. She was a hit witch, and he was a hit wizard Text Cut: head boss man Benjy grabbed what remained of his pastry and his coffee and took a seat two down from the man he had met in the atrium. He listened as boss man started...by telling them to introduce themselves. The redhead waited his turn before getting up out of his chair and speaking. "Hello everyone. I am Benjamin Doherty, from here in London. I'm joining the Hit Wizards." Yep... that was him. He quickly took his seat again and got comfortable. Who knew how long the meeting could take?... He figured that the people who he worked with would learn not to call him Benjamin but rather Benjy... but it was more formal to say Benjamin for now. |

A nod and a smile...that was what he received for his returned greeting and Simon was accepting of that. He looked over at first the door and then the head of the conference table as Wes Ferguson made his appearance begining the gathering. As he was already seated, the YATI simply straightened a little in his chair and listened to the newer employees introduce themselves. One trace surveyor...a hit wizard...and a new auror. The woman he had said good morning to being the latter meaning somehow he had magically spoken to was someone he was going to be working with first hand. Interesting coincidence, just random, or did he manage to pick something up about her? Simon couldn't be sure and switched his attention back to the rest of the introductions. When the more seasoned members of the department started stating their own information, he figured they had gotten through the new members. So he waited for a free moment before speaking up himself. "Hello...I'm Simon Bennett , from England, and a second year YATI." Hopefully that would be good enough as it sounded much better then just say he was a trainee. |
I'll let you decide if this is pre or post ice cream *winks at Roro* Aron was tempted to cock an eyebrow Dorian, but somehow managed to refrain. Was the man implying that he wasn't going to provide him a report of his findings at the end of all his testing as was expected in all investigations? Chances were this report was going to have more information than Chief Inspector required because Aron was always overly thorough with his work. So, rest assured, he would have a report on his desk when it was ready. "Of course," was all Aron replied with though since the Head Cabbage had finally made his appearance. Coffee Aron leaned back in his chair again, listening to the others as they spoke and sipping on his coffee. Merlin, he should have probably brought two mugs with him since this was one already almost empty. |

"I'm Caedwyn Howard. Cade is fine, though. From London currently, although I grew up in Wales. I'm the IUMO Chief, and I'm very pleased to welcome the new employees to the best department." Merlin, she sounded like an employment poster. She deserved a raise. |
Watching (and eating) as everyone else filtered in, Roxanne answered everyone as they greeted her or the room at large. Soon, the meeting started. She quickly and discretely swallowed her remaining bit of pastry and wiped any crumbs off her face while the Head man was speaking. Good, they were going to go around and introduce themselves. Newbies first. She nodded as everyone stood and said their name, where they were from and their position in the department, taking note of the new faces. Pretty soon it was her turn. "Hello, I'm Roxanne Carter. I am originally from Albany, New York, though I live here in London now, obviously. I currently work in the Wizgamot as a Ministry Legislator," she said, a friendly smile on her face. Sitting back down, she crossed her legs and waited for the next person to go. |
As soon as the New Boss Man appeared, Emily abandoned the YATI's and grabbed a seat at the table, eyeing off the manila folders New Boss Man was carrying. She listened as some of the new staff members introduced themselves, and a few of the more established staff members too... she perked up a bit as one of the newbies... Yvonne? ... introduced herself as an Auror. Emily's mind ticked and tocked, examining the girl under her And then... "Hi, the names Emily Browne, Auror .... currently in London, but I'm from nowhere in particular." There was no way she was going to give them a list of all the places she had once called home. Hogwarts being the longest and most consistent home to her. |
Er-had he done something wrong? Apparently, since Emily's small boney hand came out of no where and decided to attack his pretty tasty croissant. What was the matter with him? "Well...you just hit my pastry." He said dully. Who CARED about personal space? It wasn't like he was that close anyways. Josh could easily take a step in one direction and Emily in the other and then presto, more space for all of them. Legend couldn't explain this though, because Josh suddenly seemed to become a shark, taking a bite in his pastry. Did he want to share as well? The look that the other man flashed him however, that did not really entail sharing. "Browne's not a lady." Legend said with a snort. "She's Emily." It was at that time that the new head honcho decided to step in. Finding a empty seat close to his YATI's Legend sat down, placing his plate and bowl in front of him. He listened intently as people began to speak up. This WAS actually a good way of getting to know people. Sort of. Good job Wes, Legend approved. The Yvonne woman seemed to be alright. They needed another female in the office since Iz had left, maybe then Emily would be able to learn how to be a lady or something. Then there was a read headed Hit Wizard, got it. Also some Wizgamot people, they were always good to know. Looking around as the room went a bit quite, Legend shrugged and stood up and gave a small wave. "Legend Chosen." He pointed to himself. "I grew up in Northern Italy, but at the moment like many of you i'm living in London, and I'm a third year YATI." That sounded about right. He said down and began to munch on some fruit. |
Perhaps shop talk isn't the way to go with Aron ;) Once again, it seemed that Aron had misconstrued his comment. He hadn't made it overtly noticeable to Dorian, not like he had with the snarky comments the last time, but he was good enough at reading what people were hiding to know that there had been a snarky comment or two in waiting. His CMECer had merely chosen not to say it. Probably a good idea, seeing as Wes had finally arrived, coffee and file folders in hand, and Dorian had merely nodded at the short reply as he'd headed for the seat opposite Ben at the table. He figured the division heads for the most part should stay obvious, after all, and he sent a brief nod toward Caedwyn as well. Before finishing off his espresso as things got underway. He'd likely need to get some more later, but he'd survive until the meeting finished. Seeing as he hadn't noticed any espresso while he'd been perusing the coffee station. Introductions. Dorian leaned back in his chair slightly as that was the first order of business, listening as people started responding around the room. So far it hadn't seemed like there were any new CMECers, but then he'd decided to speak not long after Aron, Caedwyn and a few others. He wasn't about to stand up, though he lifted his empty coffee cup slightly. "Dorian Tamerlane. Originally from Edinburgh, Scotland," he began, letting the tiniest burr slip through the London accent he'd adopted after so many years away. "But I currently live in London, and am Chief Inspector, CMEC. The Office of Counterfeit Magic and Equipment Control, as Aron so helpfully explained," he concluded, slight grin on his face. Hopefully they weren't going to have to go into further histories, because that could make things go even longer. |
Kensi leisurely strolled into the MLE. First day of work...was she excited? YES. Was the she nervous? MAYBE. The strawberry-blonde grinned at anyone who caught her eye, gave a few nods. Her stomach did little flips as she began to realize she knew no one. Not a single person. She could change that, though. "Hi, everybody. Name's Kensington Whitworth, but please, if you're fond of your eyebrows, call me Kensi." she smirked a bit, and continued, "I'm from Montana, but I spent a good chunk of my life in New York. I am now a patrol officer," she finished, clearing her throat. She could have talked for longer-Kensi liked the sound of her raspy, smooth voice. But that didn't mean anyone else did... |
Skander slipped into the room behind the new bossman, hoping that it wouldn't give a bad impression. One may be able to make an argument that he was running late to this little Department Party after all. And tardiness certainly didn't inspire good impressions. At least he was here before all the introductions began though. Slipping into a spare chair Skander listened with interest to what people were saying about where they were from and what they did at work. Most of these people he didn't know, some of them were familiar looking though. Therefore he was quite grateful for having an eidetic memory. It would make remembering these people much easier if he ever ran into them. "Skander Beckett," Skander spoke up as the woman who'd just introduced herself as Kensi finished speaking. "I'm originally from Sydney, Australia, but I've been living over here for a few years. I work for the Wizengamot as a Prosecutor. I'm also one of the MLE's Liaisons," Skander finished, making himself comfortable as he did so. |
Ah. There came the Head, making an entry huh? Julia watched as the man made his way in and greeted all of them. She gave back a polite nod and watched him. He looked pretty cool-headed, or shows himself to be. Whatever. The newer employees and a few older ones introduced themselves. Then came her turn. "I'm Julia Smith" she said, slightly raising her voice so as to it was audible. "Currently London-based. I'm at the IUMO-" break, "- junior breach investigator" she completed. Now what was the point? He probably had all their names and records with him already. |
Text Cut: Benjy and Sky NO WAY! Okay, she would have put him in the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts division probably if she'd been supposed to guess Nodding slowly when Wesley arrived, she quickly made her way over to the buffet to get a cup of tea and one of those pastries - yes, she was just going to try it now and eat the rest later - before taking a seat at the table next to Benjy. They were supposed to make the new people feel welcome after all. When it was her turn, Alysson sort of waved at the room, a grin playing around her lips. "Hi. I'm Alysson Zookara. I'm from Chelsea in Massachusetts-" Cue grin at Yvonne since she'd said she was from Boston. "-but I'm living in an apartment in London now. And I'm a Hit Witch." Yes, that was all she had to say right now. If they wanted to know anything else, they would have to ask her in person. |
Looked like Millie was up she cleared her throat and stood up "God Morning, I'm Millie Caxton, i was born in Louisiana USA, But lived in Oxford england most of my life, Im the MMAO Legislation Compliance Officer and i have been with the department for 3 years now." gahhh that was horrible, she's an officer not a teacher for a reason, speaking in front of crowds was not her thing at all. |
