Aron was, surprisingly, not in his usual laid back attire today having settled for a more business like approach. Still, the man never could go with the whole suit and tie look and had opted to keep the collar and first button or so on his pale pink shirt open. He probably should have shaved as well, but it had been another busy morning only there hadn't been any plants involved this time and he had spent most of the morning in the lab attempting to identify what sort of crazy was in a bowl of tomato soup that had turned the eater bright orange. Strutting into the conference room, his eyes went STRAIGHT for the food and his body soon followed. Now...was there any glorious coffee to go with this? |
:P And a big hai to Pixie (and Aron) again. A new day, and a department-wide meeting to attend. It honestly was just like the last time MLE had gotten new hires, except Dorian wasn't exactly sneaking in at the end this time just to be pointed out as a division head. He'd been in the office early again, though, both due to oversee issues and work on yet more paperwork regarding plans that he imagined might be coming to fruition sooner rather than later. If Wes' notice was to be believed, at least. He had to give points to Aron for at least trying to dress business-like for the occasion, too, and he'd given the other man a nod as he'd stepped into the conference room. Actually, it was more points for not having ended up with orange splatters on said suit, considering he himself was dressed rather casually as usual. He didn't think he'd worn a suit since the gala welcoming Minister Greingoth to his position. I think the coffee's over there, Aron," he offered, tilting his head toward a few pots on one end of the table as the other man just looked like he needed to find it. He'd found the food easy enough, at least. Dorian was fine with his espresso that he'd been nursing ever since he'd arrived at the office, although he glanced over the drinks provided to see if Ms. Devereaux had taken his suggestion. He was assuming she was the one to thank for the buffet, at least. "Any updates on the soup situation?," he added, turning his attention to the food for the moment. So far it seemed like just the two of them, so they might as well start off with shop talk. Unless Aron wanted to offer any other topics, or any others arrived. |
Ah that time of year, the settling in of new employees in the department, or so the notice had said. Well at least this time around that classification didn't include him of which he was thankful for. Newbie was a designation tough to get past esepcially when working to earn a colleague's trust. Knowing then of the meeting in the conference room, Simon had dropped off his extra belongings at his desk and headed there as soon as he had gotten in with still plenty of time to go. Dressed as he usual was, in a semi-casual yet put together way, he was prepared. The YATI stepped inside the room and noticed two men already there, the duo usually seen in passing as they worked mainly in the other office. As per usual it seemed he was the earlier of his group, well the trainees of course, with Legend and Josh not in sight. “Good morning,” he greeted them with a polite nod as he walked in further. The younger man claiming a seat at the conference table before debating grabbing anything from the spread laid out for them. |
Wondering what, besides welcoming the new employees, this meeting could be about, Roxanne made her way into the conference room. She immediately smelled the food spread out on the table an was reminded that she'd been running so late that morning that she hadn't had time for breakfast. So, she could be excused if she'd walked a little faster to the refreshments than was normally acceptable. Just as she reached for the biggest pastry available, her stomach rumbled. Loudly. "Sorry about that. No time for breakfast this morning," she said by way of explanation. She picked up the pastry she had been reaching for and placed it on a napkin, followed by a few slices of apple. She grabbed a cup and filled it with coffee (two sugars, of course), carried the food filled napkin and coffee over to the table, sat down and began eating. Hoping no one thought she was being rude. |
New job new job new job... Exciting! Kryspin walked into the conference room with a big smile on his face. He was actually really glad he'd got this... considering how little he had cared when he'd applied. He was expecting to be rejected - and his family expected it too - so he felt a tiiiiny bit smug. Hehe. Anyway, time to meet his new colleagues, yes? Krys didn't head for the food immediately - he'd eaten his breakfast less than an hour ago - instead, he took a place at the side of the room and looked around. Everyone seemed pretty friendly... but should he go and introduce himself to somebody? He couldn't tell who was new and who wasn't... Hmm. |
Emily, on a mission as usual, strode into the conference room. She was determined, if anything else, to make the most of the new situation... as uncomfortable as it was, and she was going to Leaning against the wall, she observed her colleagues exchange banter and discuss coffee.. ugh. Waiting in the shadows, as she usually did Emily waited to see a familiar face ... one that she liked. |
xD Not really bothering to look more formal than usual, Josh walked into the Conference Room in a hurry still wearing the same jeans and gray shirt he had been wearing since yesterday. It did not mean he was walking around smelling, of course, he had been just too lazy to pick new clothes after the shower that morning. And, Merlin knew, he had no idea there was going to be a meeting today as he did not have the habit of checking the notice board regularly. He realised it only when he saw many employees walk towards the direction where the conference room was. ''Good morning everybody!'' Quote:
He could run towards there but he restrained from doing so only to look a bit formal for the meeting. And he was at work, anyway, not home where he could practically jump at food. Well...well. Look at there! Did not the fresh fruit look so attractive? It brought a smirk to his face, he turned to Emily and gave her a slight poke in the arm. ''Hey! Would you like to share a strawberry with me?'' |
Roflmao Quote:
"I'm not good at sharing," she remarked nonchalantly. "But I won't stop you from fetching me some." It wasn't a question, nor was it a demand, and Josh was more than welcome to make up his own mind if he was up for the task. Either way, she figured he just wanted an excuse to approach the food. The boy was something of a machine, he and Chosen Boy could probably eat enough for the whole Department. |
It was going to be another new year at MLE, new employees and a new Head of Department. Another year had come and gone, and now it was time for the meet and great of new employees, and new head, again. Aubrie walked into the conference room, ready for another year of MLE, maybe she could talk to the new head and find out if it was possible for her to change roles within the department, but for now she had to focus on the present. At the moment, the present was food, getting some food and coffee while waiting for the head to come. Aubrie walked over to the table with the pastries and fruit and coffee. She snagged some strawberries and blackberries putting them on a plate, so they wouldn't get over her new dress she had gotten for the occasion. Then there was a nice cup of coffee with creamer and sugar. Aubrie took her food and walked over to a corner to stand and wait for the meeting to begin. |

''It is never too late to learn things.'' Josh said smirking at her even though she apparently did not bother to look at him. Women were always a different case so he mostly did not try to understand the reason behind their weird acts. She probably had a good enough reason for herself that he was never going to know. It was also very hard to make them happy but they usually spoke it out when they wanted to be made happy. Josh smiled and nodded at her request ooor request-like thing. ''Okay.'' he uttered before walking to there the sweet looking fresh fruit rested. Picking up a small bowl, he placed some strawberries and blackberries on it with his wand by levitating each berry. He avoided touching them, of course, just in case she would think his touch would be gross. Some women were like that. Finally, he got back to her and presented her the small bowl of berries. |

Pleasing was overrated. Though... It appeared as if Josh was one for pleasing, in this instance she wouldn't complain, nor would she judge. No, Emily just smirked. Only after Josh had returned with a bowl of berries JUST FOR HER, did she offer him a smile. "Good work Carter." She allowed him to continue holding the bowl and instead, inspected a strawberry before popping it in her mouth, fingers around the stalk before removing it effortlessly. Mmmm full of berry flavour. "Now, about this sharing thing? How does it work exactly?" Emily had her ideas, but was curious to see how the YATI would respond. |
Josh and Emily and Anyone else Reaching the end of the table where the buffet was set, Simon walked up and set about making himself a cup of tea. He still hadn't gotten into the mood of drinking coffee like many of his fellow aurors and trainees did. Stepping back, he couldn't help but be nearby as Emily and Josh interacted with each other. His eyebrow raised as he took a sip, his eyes gracing over the top of the steaming mug. The YATI couldn't help inwardly chuckling to himself as he continued to absently observe the two wondering how it would turn out. Seeing as he knew Josh well and experienced enough of Emily to be careful himself. His friend...not so much, tending to be like his usual self even around the more volatile colleagues like the young woman. It was bound to have some interesting results. |
anyone who wants to meet a new employee...just vm me Badge... Check. Shirt tucked in...Check. Tie tied and straight... Check. Suit jacket... Check. Hair tamed... Check. Yep. Benjy was now ready for his first day... well, at least he hoped so. After checking to see that he looked professional, he entered the conference room. There seemed to be a decent size group already gathered in the room, though it still seemed very quiet. At first glance, the room looked nice, the people friendly but somewhat separate, and there was food...and coffee. After a quick breath to calm himself down, the redhead made his way into the room with a grin on his face. As he passed someone, he would give them a slight nod and a toothy grin. Once he reached to table with food and coffee, he made himself a cup of coffee, decaf with a shot of milk, and grabbed a pastry. He moved slightly away from the table and stood near one of the walls, waiting to meet his coworkers or for the meeting to start up. |
little nods at all of you really :3 Quote:
Sip sip sip sip. Soup? Oh, right. THAT. "I still need to run a few more tests as nothing has been too conclusive yet." I looked as though someone simply hadn't properly washed out the cauldron of its previous potion before some moron had decided to use it to make tomato soup. "I suspect the orange will just fade with time though." Unless the next series of tests were conclusive and therefore gave him a hint at what the antidote could be. Several more people had entered now and some of them made Aron feel...old. Something that he didn't particularly like, but there was little he could do about that fact. Aron politely lifted his mug to them as they entered and couldn't help but raise his eyebrow at the one young woman who had lingered in the shadows for a while. Odd bunch of saplings here. Yep. Not to mention that most people didn't seem to be talking all that much. Wasn't that defeating the point of this whole get together thing? Aron simply shrugged at this and strut over to the table where he sat down and moved as though he were about to put his feet up on it...when he thought better. His own desk, sure, this rather nice looking table, probably not the best idea. Smug look on his face, Aron looked over to see Roxanne had found something to appease her on stomach and he gave her a quick two finger salute before returning his attention to his own cup. Where was the new Head Cabbage? |
i'll respond in the mornigng Good night! Millie walked into the meeting feeling late as ever, but there were only a few other in the conference room. Planning this wedding was stressing her out and she was beginning to just not want to get married at all and give up, but work was work. "Good Morning." she said to everyone else in the room. She already had coffee in her hand, she saw the food laid out and thought how nice of a gesture that was, she went over and grabbed a few pastries and nibbled on them as she stood by the table, behind the chair she would sit in. |
Legend Chosen was not late. Though he had a knack for being late, this time the twenty year old had made sure that he had arrived fashionable almost late. He had even set his alarm clock and everything. Walking into the conference room, Legend's eyes immediately fell upon the food. Pastries! And fruit! Shame there wasn't anything really good like pizza but he would make do. He always did. Grabbing a small bowl he scooped a couple of strawberries, blueberries and blackberries into into it before turning his attention to the danishes. Legend grabbed a couple and loaded a small plate, and even got one between his teeth before carrying both plates over and squeezing himself into the tight gap between Josh and Emily. He was just in time to hear a question about sharing. How did it work? Well, he had learned that about sixteen years ago. "Eeett woofsdts like thsidss." Legend took a bite of the croissant that had been between his teeth and offered it to Emily. Or more like....tried to stuff it in her face. See! Sharing! |

Eyebrow raised, she returned the LOOK. They would be spared from her wand this time round. Quote:
"Personal space Chosen!" she said back handing the pastry thing he was shoving in her face. "Whatsthematterwithyou?!" Whatever Carter had in mind would probably have been more pleasant than this pastry asult! |
Simon, Legend, Emily *too lazy to quote* Still presenting the little bowl of berries to the young woman, Josh was wonderng when she was going to take it and in the progress of waiting, he looked away and around the conference room a bit in order not to seem impatient or rude. That was when he saw Simon looking towards him and Emily. Grinning a bit he gave the other YATI a thumb up with his free hand before looking back at Emily when he realised that she was picking up a berry from the bowl. Then...she was not going to take the bowl? Okaay...she was a lady after all so Josh had no problem with holding the bowl for her. The young man gave a sincere smile to her question and he was about to answer it when... ...Legend Chosen happened. Josh stared at the back of the head of the blond guy for a moment before taking a step forward and poke-pushing the other guy to the side, his air of doing it saying 'Whoa dude, the lady is mine. I got her first.' Then he took the croissant that Legend was almost poking at Emily's face from his hand and took a huge bite from it. ''The lady is right, Chosen.'' he said after swallowing the bite, the usage of last names making him smirk. Really? Why did not they just call each other by first names like they normally would? ''Personal space is good. She is disturbed.'' |
SPOILER!!: Trio Then Legend entered the mix of the other three and Simon did his best not to shake his head at the younger man. Sometimes he honestly wondered how either had survived the atmostphere of their office so far. But his attention was drawn back to Emily as she obviously noticed him looking their way, getting THE LOOK but staying calm. It wasn't like he was afraid of her, just more cautious around things and he had perhaps slipped this time. "Sorry Em...Guess I'm still used to keeping an eye out for Josh getting into trouble," he remarked nonchallantly, sliping around the other three to get a muffin and then returning beside them. "Carry on of course." The elder YATI taking his leave and returning where he had set down his notebook and sitting down with what he had taken. Perhaps it was best if he stayed away from his fellows in case they bugged the aurors too much. |
Hey, Alice. ;D Anyone want to RP with the Detective? GRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND EEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNNTRAAAAAAAAAAAANCE Benjamin Amsten was excited about this day. Addressing the poozers. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! The New Yorker had a grand plan for the activities. Entering the conference room he took a look around at the returning fellows and the new folks. They all looked ready to go! The Detective was dressed in his suit and tie like always and was wearing his Fedora. He took a seat near the head of the table... But left the HEAD seat for the Boss-man. |
We do we do we do Quote:
Krys took a sip from his coffee and looked around, everyone seemed to know each other in here... was anyone else new at all? And then a guy walked in and sat down... He was definitely not new. And he had a pretty cool hat... hehe. Well... it seemed it was time to suck it up and start meeting his colleagues... or, considering how snazzy and important this guy looked, his bosses? Maybe? Well, this guy didn't seem to be too buys... just waiting. Krys walked up to him, "Morning, I'm Kryspin Quinn. I'm new, just felt like I should introduce myself." Hmm, was that good? |

Running a hand through her hair, Alysson entered the Conference Room, her eyes immediately darting around in search for new faces. Oh and Lights. Only she wasn't here yet it seemed. Hmm, well, gave her a chance to get to know some of the new people then. Aaaaaaaaand there was the first person who looked unfamiliar. "HII!" She grinned at the man standing closest to her and walked up to him. "You're one of the new employees, aren't you? I'm Alysson." Her eyes briefly dropped to the pastry in his hand. Hmm. She was going to get one of those in just a second. And some tea. And then she was going to send Izzy a picture of those delicious looking pastries, so she would regret having left the department! |
Sapphira went in the conference room after her shift in the wand-weighing counter. She hoped that she wasn't late, although there are already a lot of people there. Apparently, most people have had their talking partners, so she took some cookies and a cup of cofee with her to the place where she would most probably stand until the meeting's over. |
She was here and she was feeling FABULOUS. Heather walked into the conference room with her best smile on. She was more than willing to meet the new people as long as they were willing to keep their drama down. Well, if they joined herside of the office anyway. There was already enough drama there now. Sne took a seat and smiled even bigger, let's get the ball rolling. |
yay! Quote:
Benjy's mind was way off his typical subject. Maybe it was the fact that he was new and had only met one person in the room at the time... or maybe it was the fact that it was still morning and he had a nice cup of coffee in his hand. Probably the second one... Either way, he was enjoying his first few minutes of work. With his pastry halfway done, the redhead started to look around the room at all the new faces. There were so many new people that he would end up meeting...and possibly working with. He noticed a grin and quickly returned it before putting down his coffee on the table next to him. "Good Morning." Yep... morning...and certainly good. "I am indeed. Pleasure to meet you Alysson. I am Benjamin Doherty, but you can call me Benjy." He said putting his hand out to shake. Basic introductions were easy. It was after that that always changed. "So what part of MLE are you in?" |
