Yeah. No. Emily did not approve. There was a fine line between having an ego and flirting, to being a complete suck up. “Thanks for the tip... I’ll be sure to keep a holding cell free for just that reason.” She wasn’t going to put up with crap like that. Call it harassment or insubordination, it didn’t matter, she didn’t want to hear those soppy words repeated to her. “Before asking questions?” Emily echoed, “…what? Was he interrogating you?” Real smooth.

Emily had followed in step with Victoria, she could even SMELL the coffee now, and it was GOOD. Flavours? They had the fancy pants stuff too? Unbelievable!
“So that makes you an expert, which would you recommend?” she asked as they neared the cart.

Cut throat that just sounded harsh. Victoria looked at Emily in shock a bit at her wording. She knew right there she would never have survived as law enforcement. They would have eaten her up and spit her out quickly. "Well you must be a pretty strong woman to deal with that stuff. I could never do it. I don't do well when things get heated, I usually was the quiet one when I was younger." The shy one should never be in that position.

As she lead the way to the coffee Victoria laughed at Emily's comment, "A cell might do for him." She chuckled more only joking of course, but her chuckling stopped for her to really think about her answer now. "Well I wouldn't say interrogating me. He just wanted to know about the ministry, but not the average new comer information. Like after his complements and stuff he jokingly asked if I knew any dirt on anyone here." She eyed Emily to see what her response would be. "I just shrugged it off as his sense of humor, but it was odd."

As for the coffee Vic thought for a few moments once she was standing in front, "Hazel nut maybe, but I do mine usually just plain with some sugar." She stopped to let Emily see what was available.

Oh.

Priceless!

Emily was amused, ever so greatly amused. Pretty strong? Emily chuckled, "I wouldn't be in my current position if I wansn't." Truth. She not only had to be strong enough for the dangers of her work, but she had to be strong in every way in which she conducted herself at work. She was a leader now, not just of the YATI sort, so, there were expectations and shoes to fill. Strong shoes to fill. However, she didn't agree with where Victoria was leading the conversation. "On the contrary, it's the quiet ones that are sometimes the strongest. You don't need to be big and loud to be strong." Emily was hardly that. She could act it, but she preferred to observe in silence and strike unexpectedly.

Oh good, she took it as a joke. Or not? She'd stopped laughing. Emily listened, an eyebrow arched curiously. Asking for dirt on people was not normal newbie behaviour. "Definitely odd... I'm glad you told me." Now she could keep an eye and ear out in the office. Just... because.

And now for the good stuff.

Emily oggled the coffee selection, her gaze scanning over their labels. Honestly, she probably couldn't make up her mind, or more to the point she'd make up her mind to have every single one. Was that possible? Combine it all into one EPIC coffee? ... No. Well yes, but no. "Hazelnut sounds good, double shot of course, one sugar," she declared, grabbing herself one of the cuppy things.

Victoria looked at the woman in aww.. She really was fascinated by the strength this one had to have. "Well all I know is I'm better behind a desk working with quidditch teams and mascots. I could never do any of that physical work." It just sounded to hard, but it would be so much training. As much as Vic liked being fit and in motion, but to need to rough someone up if need me, no thanks she would stick to the bludgers. "That's so interesting." She chuckled a bit, "Well I don't think this quiet one could handle any of that." nope she knew her limits and an eleven year old beating her up accidentally was rough enough.

"I feel bad like I'm ratting him out, but it just struck me as odd. I guess I don't concern myself over the gossip around the Ministry and don't understand why anyone really would want to." Who cared who was dating who, or who was doing what. Just do your own job and mind your own business. That's how she felt anyway.

Victoria watched as Emily couldn't decide, b]"Well I love coffee breaks so come interrupt my work anytime if you want to try out some new ones." [/b] She knew Emily could do it on her own, but why not have a coffee buddy while at it, right. Grabbing her own cup, Victoria decided to go with the Hazelnut as well. Pulling out the sugar she pushed it towards Emily so she could get hers. "Do they have a coffee cart at your level as well?" She hadn't been to many of the others levels so she truly wasn't sure.

"Each to their own," Emily agreed. People were different, unique, their own strengths and weaknesses. One thing she knew for sure, was that she'd go absolutely bonkers if she was restricted to a desk with paper work and rubbish administration stuff like that... no, Emily liked to get out and about, get her hands dirty and flex her muscles. So they were opposites in that sense it seemed.
"You'd be surprised what you're capable of... especially being a mother." No. Emily was not a mother, but she knew that mothers would do anything for their children, thus making them capable of doing all sorts, making them wildcards.

Emily shrugged. "Don't feel bad... it may be nothing, or it may be something... but at any rate, it's better to have said something to someone than said nothing at all." It was one of those things people didn't understand. Azazel may just be a strange person, and if that was the case, no harm done... but if there was something wrong with what he was doing, then it was a good thing it'd been mentioned.

"We could make a habit of it," Emily agreed... cause she loved coffee breaks too, and it was a good way to get to know people. Merlin knew she was short on friends. Emily took the sugar Victoria pushed toward her, adding it to her cup. "Nope... I usually rely on my YATI to keep me supplied throughout the day." Which was both a good thing and a bad thing.

Victoria listened as she got her coffee and faintly thought about a little snack before heading back to her desk. Emily was right people didn't have to like the same things and how boring it would be if they did, but her next comment made Vic stop and think for a moment. "You are very right. I could see myself doing more towards someone if my son was involved. I really hadn't thought of it before, but there isn't anything I wouldn't do for him. Especially if it would me protecting him." Hence why she was letting him move back with his father and not go to Hogwarts this term after she had heard the rumors of what went on by a few of her coworkers that had children. "Do you have any children Emily?" She had been talking to her for a little while now and really didn't know that much about her.

Hmm maybe a muffin would go well with the coffee.. "Well for his sake I hope he's just an odd cookie that thinks charming women and joking about being nosy is part of his horrible pick up lines. " Not that she ever really thought anyone was picking her up. Until Charely started talking to her she really thought most guys looked right past.

A smile crossed Victoria's face. It would be nice to gain another friend at the ministry. "I'm usually easy to find up here so anytime you want a coffee break come on up." Plus any reason for a quick break and be near the coffee cart in case a certain Gobstone Admin would need coffee at the same sounded perfect to Victoria.

Of course she was right. Emily had a habit of being right, purely because she didn't like being wrong, and so she was smart enough to not be wrong. Yep. She had it all figured out. The look on Victoria's face was one she had seen before, that look of realisation. Of course, everyone was capable of anything, all it required was a purpose, meaning, or emotions. Caring, was one of the most powerful motivators, of anything.

It was a good thing she hadn't taken a sip of her coffee yet, owing to the fact that she was just stirring it, otherwise it would have gone everywhere. Everywhere. "Oh god no," she exclaimed, it was potentially the worst thing she could do in this life. Have children. She wasn't in the right frame of mind for that, and her work wasn't particularly family friendly. "No... I'm not mother material."Though, she knew enough people with children, that was good enough, wasn't it? On top of that, the list was growing, or so it seemed.

Emily pulled a face of distaste. Pick up lines, were never executed well, and if what Victoria said was a poor attempt at it, then Azazel successfully made himself out to be a creep. Worthy of a gold star. Granted, she shouldn't judge the man, she hadn't met him herself, but she wasn't in a hurry to do so.

"I'll be around, for sure." It wasn't so bad on this floor. Good coffee, snacks, bearable people... perhaps even a good view? Emily glanced around, more out of habit than anything else.
