Albert Kettleburn EraAll historical records pertaining to Ministry of Magic RPG under Minister for Magic, Albert Kettleburn [IC January 2081 - December 2086; OOC June 2013 - January 2015]
As Alexander waited with his hand outstretched, he tried to mentally place this woman. He'd gone through all the files, but there'd been so many that he couldn't quite place her from memory. It'd have been nice to address her by name, but no. He wasn't able to.
"Mister Minister?" he repeated, laughing good-naturedly. "Feel free to call me Minister Greingoth." Not Alexander, no. Not yet at least. He shook her hand then gently pulled away, letting his arm dangle by his side again. "Well, welcome to level one, Miss Scamander. I'm assuming you've found your first day to be a good one, hmm?" He sat down in a nearby chair and gestured for her to do the same. "...and one of my Advisers. Hmm." He shook his head. "You'll have to excuse me. We've just hired a good amount of new employees, and I've got a myriad of files I'm continuously processing." He made himself a mental note to read up on names and informational files as soon as he headed back to his office.
Oh, and listen to that. She'd already heard his good news. Word travels around, yes? "About to be," he answered. "We haven't set the date yet, but possibly soon." An an afterthought, he added, "Thank you, though."
"Whatever you wish, sir," she said with a nod. Although, she thought Mister Minister had a great ring to it, personally. Heh. "Thank you, Minister Greingoth. I have found it to be rather quiet here. Uneventful. Which neither of those is a bad thing, mind you. I am merely used to chaos and such," she said with a chuckle as she took a seat in the chair he gestured to.
Waving a hand dismissively she chuckled once more as she crossed her ankles and sat rather primly in her seat. "I would not expect a man as busy as yourself, with an entire Ministry to run, to remember everyone before he even met them. No offense taken," she said sweetly. See! Jonah was VERY wrong about her. She was indeed pleasant and charming. Not frigid and the other nasty words he often used to describe her.
"Ah, well congratulations on the impending date, sir. I am sure she is one lucky woman." Well she was SURE of that, but not so sure if the Minister was lucking out with the lady he was marrying. "I must say, I did read the article that the Prophet put out about the fall of the Cult of Walpurgis. Great job with the coup, Minister."

Layla was just going over some press released documents and photos with Natasha when the minister entered the work area. She raised an eyebrow and looked at Nat then stood, straightening her skirt, then she extended her hand to him and shook it firmly.
"Layla Dacosta, one of your new media liaison officers." And quite possibly one of the more beautiful females in his department, but she would leave that little bit out of it. The man wasn't blind he could see that for himself.

Natasha was skimming through the photo's with a critical eye as Layla went over the press release documents. The photo's needed to be retaken. Whomever had taken them a made a lousy job. She was just going tell Layla that when she caught her partners subtle hint. They were not alone!
Seeing the Minister of Magic enter the cubicle area she hastily stood up, straightened her skirt and gave her a appearance a general look over in her cubicle mirror. She wasn't very vain but you had to look good when you met the Boss with the big B.
Following Layla forward Natasha extended her hand to the minister and flashed him a warm smile. "Natasha Warrington, media liaison." she introduced herself.

Iridesca smiled up as the Ministry of Magic walked in. She smiled as he said hello to the new faces. She was so excited to see him again...she was super excited to be working with him so closely. He had to be better than the last joke that was in office. She had to admit that she was a little star struck...yes she shouldn't be...she knew working on level one would mean she would see him more often, but still he was the leader of the magic world she had grown up in....too amazing..she couldn't help but staring at him in a starstruck manner....she had met him before but it was in that dreadful joke of a Department Head's meeting...ugh...she shook her head just a little bit left and right with that horrid thought...
She glanced around the office looking for her cubicle/work area. She was excited to get to work on the next event....but she wasn't sure where to start. Man they really needed a map that led you to the right place in the room because it was huge....
She glanced back at the Minister...would it be okay for her to walk over and say hello like they were old friends or would that be rude or awkward. She took a breath and walked closer to him. When she finally reached him, she smiled and held out her right hand, "Minister, I'm Iridesca MacMillan. It's great to see you again. I look forward to our next event and helping out with making it the most memorable ever." yes she let out that breath slowly and hoped she hadn't overstepped her boundaries...and that he might remember her from their last meeting and that maybe he remembered it being a good first impression...

Wally looked up from his desk as he heard the voice of the Minister. He pushed himself up from his chair and walked over to greet him. He waited his turn, his giant smile still plastered on his face. When it was his turn, Wally reached out his hand for the Minister to shake. "Hello Minister Greingoth. I'm Walter Avery. One of your newest Ministry Advisors. It's a pleasure to be working here." This man had no idea how excited Wally actually was. No. Idea.

Alexander has never met the new Minister up front. He has seen him in the Ministry Ball though with uhmmm... Jonathan's Potions professor... Hecate Lafay, right? The recent news is that the two are engaged and will be marrying soon possibly. That's nice. Marriage is a very sacred thing indeed.
Alexander stood up as the Minister went inside their work stations. He stood up to greet him formally and for the first time too. Smiling to him he gestured his hand for a hand shake "Good day Minister Greingoth. Congratulations" he said, for being the new minister that is. Lord Borr was such a big royal pain to be dealing with anyway. Good thing he's no longer in power.
Oh... "Alexander Kim, one of the advisors" he added. He's hoping to work well with the new minister.
"So very sorry! I am Tamara Scamander." She thought she had introduced herself... but clearly she was wrong.
"Well it is my personal experience that if one wants decent anything from a break room they had better provide it for themselves," Tam Scam said with a wink. Digging into her bag she pulled out a small picture frame that housed the ONLY family shot of the Scams from recent enough years. SIGHS. Why were her children so evil now? Aside from Dale that is.
"Have you got any children Ruth?" Tam asked suddenly as she placed the framed photo on her desk.
"Its nice nice to meet you Mrs. Scamander." Or is it Ms?
"Yes. I think that was the safest thing to do." she said. Then Ruth saw the woman pulled out a picture frame from her bag. She was once did that too, putting a photo frame on her work desk but now not anymore. Who's picture she want to put anyway? Her twin? Not likely.
The red hair was caught off guard when she asked her about kids. "No. I'm still single." she said with a small smile. Single and happy. Well, at least that she always said in her mind. "What about you? Do you have any kids?" Ruth asked.

The Minister had asked the Undersecretaries to join him in welcoming and greeting the new employees. Looking around she didn't see Ms. Daniels yet, Medea was sure she'd be along soon.
Medea wasn't the friendliest person, but she always did was her boss asked of her. She nodded to a few people she recognized from when she herself worked in this room and then turned and offered her hand to a small group of new faces. "Hello, Medea Ward."

Mister Minister? Sir? Now these were terms Alexander wouldn definitely have to get used to. Sure, they were what every Slytherin's ambitious dreams were made of, but that didn't make them anymore familiar to Alexander. His entire life had changed in a matter of days, but he'd get used to it. He had to. He wanted to.
Minister Greingoth sounded perfect in reference to him.
"Uneventful?" he questioned, trying to think back on a moment with things in his office hadn't been eventful. He laughed, although, not in an impolite way. "Oh, you just wait, Mrs. Scamander. You just wait," he said. Changing his tune a bit, he added, "A lot of the recent action hasn't been here in the office. It's been in the Atrium--first with a battle and then with a ball." They'd really been here and there lately.
His face brightened into a small smile as she congratulated him on the upcoming marriage. "Well, thank you, Mrs. Scamander," he said. Then he leaned over and whispered. "I lucked out with this one. Not so much with the last one, I'm afraid."

We've been needing one of those. Two, actually." He smiled at her. "Well, welcome to level one and to the Ministry of Magic."

Alexander grinned politely as he caught sight of the next woman abandoning her work and hastily standing up. "Hard at work," he commented, "I like that." He met her extended hand and gave it a shake. He met her eye to eye as she introduced herself. Alexander was usually good with putting names with faces, so the next time he saw her, he'd remember it for sure. "Ahh, so they did hire two of you," he commented, looking over at the Dacosta woman. "Well, make me look good," he jokingly said, looking from one to the other. Alexander had to admit that he was pleasantly surprised at the greeting he'd walked in to. People were standing up left and right, and this next man was no exception. It was odd how a new title could do that a person--have people standing up for them and the such. As proud as he was to be the new Minister of Magic, Alexander was still grateful for the way in which the employees were currently acting. It was respect, and as long as they showed it to him, he'd show it to them.
"Mr. Avery," he greeted, shaking the man's hand. "It's good to have you on board." He gave the man a sharp nod. "I look forward to working with you."

He gave the man a small grin then added, "Thank you for the congratulations, Mr. Kim. I look forward to working with you."

And then they shook hands.
Alexander really felt honored and happy at the same time. During the war against the Cult, he was wondering himself who would stand next as the new Minister when Borr goes down. Mr. Greingoth is a very fine man with him on the spot, change is about to happen and not the change that Alexander saw and felt when Borr was still in-charge. He didn't even know why that bloke won in the first place.
Alexander gave a small laugh when the Minister Greingoth complimented his name. Well, they both have the same name. "It sure is" he said, still smiling. Right now, Alexander himself was already ready and excited to work with the new minister. "I'm looking forward as well, sir" he said.
Oh? Alexander was quite surprised when he asked about his son. How did he know? "Yes, sir. my son is in Slytherin." he replied. Has Jonathan perhaps met with Mr. Greingoth? Probably no, Jonathan would definitely tell him. "Have you..." he paused "... I mean, how did you know sir?"
Vicky decided to venture out of her own office and head through the rest of the level. She hadn't had much time to do this. She thought she would take a break from her cloud of business and take a look around and meet some new people.
As she entered the work area she saw that the minister was already making rounds. She tucked her hands in the pockets of her trousers and walked in quietly. She watched as he welcomed new employees and spoke to others.

A few minutes later after the Minister made his appearance, there's a woman coming toward the working area. The woman introduced herself as Medea Ward. Isn't she the current Junior Undersecretary? And if the red hair wasn't mistaken the woman was the Internal Liaison Supervisor before her.
"Hello, its nice to meet you, Ms. Ward. I'm Ruth Flitzpatrick." she introduced herself and gave the woman's hand a good shake. "I'm the new Internal Liaison Supervisor." Ruth added

"I'm sure she is a very lucky woman." Ruth was pretty sure about that.

Turning her head slightly to smile at the other woman Tamara said, "Yes I do indeed have children. Three to be exact. Lucian, Deidra, and Dale. The lights of my life." Whether they appreciated their mother or not. Heh.

The more Tamara looked at the Minister and thought... "Oh dear... Alexander? I'll be... My memory has been sullied by years of dealing with children, life and whatnot... We were at Hogwarts together! I was Tamara Winickus then. Ravenclaw Prefect! You were in the same year as my husband, Jonah Scamander!" Small world! They did know one another once upon a time... funny how years of LIFE made one forget things. Hehe.
"...and welcome to the Ministry, Mrs. Warrington."
Meeting the Minister’s grin Natasha commented "Yes well the work won’t magically disappear unless someone helps it or so I’ve heard." It was nice that her work ethic was complimented on since people usually thought she was too organized and effective with her lists. As the minister shook her nail polished hand he caught her gaze and held on to it. Weird! Why did he do that? To remember her name with her face?
Stealing a glance in Layla’s direction Natasha beamed at Minister Greingoth a second or two later. "Yes they did." Hearing his joke her cheeks flushed up as she quipped up "We will do our very best to make you look good in the eyes of the public."
"Thank you, I’m very happy to be here. Congrats on your impending marriage by the way Minister, who is the lucky lady?" Natasha still wasn’t thoroughly caught up in the gossip bubble surrounding her new employer and boss. Mrs?? She was a Miss no more, no less. She had been divorced for several years now. Hmpf. She was too stumped to correct him.

A dark haired woman joined in the group and Natasha greeted her politely remembering that she was one of the undersecretaries. "Pleasure to meet you Ms Ward, I’m Natasha Warrington one of the new media liaisons." It was best to make a good impression since she probably would have a lot of meetings with Medea and it was better to have friend rather than an enemy.

She extended her hand to the Medea Liaison, "Wonderful Ms. Warrington." Medea was awful at small talk but she struggled to come up with something, "Are you liking the position thus far?" Yea she was pretty miserable at this.
As she was making the round she caught a glimps of Ms. Daniels. She nodded and reminded herself that they had made lunch plans for later in the day.
Moving Alexander on, because other things are planned. *shifty*

Hearing his title once again, Alexander turned sharply to the right. Ahh. MacMillan. He hadn't worked with the woman long before she retired at department head and moved on to some other line of work. It'd been long enough for him to remember her face and name, though. "Mrs. MacMillan, of course," he said, returning the shake. "I remember working with you when you were the head of Accidents and Catastrophes. I believe you and I were in the courtroom meeting together." Apparently, she'd come back to work for them as Ministry Event Coordinator, it seemed.
"Now if you'll excuse me," he said, eyeing the others, "I have to get going." He nodded once in her direction. "Have a good day, Mrs. MacMillan."

Alexander laughed his deep, almost-serious laugh. "Well, you see, Mr. Kim, my soon-to-be wife is the Slytherin Head of House, and my daughter is a fourth year Slytherin," he explained. With a shrug, he added, "Between the two of them, I've picked up on a name or two. When you gave your last name, it rang a bell, although, I haven't ever met your son." If the young Kim was anything like his father, Alexander assumed he was a worthy, young Slytherin. The Kim standing before him seemed worthy enough, at least.
Looking around the room and seeing that there were a considerable amount of people left to greet, Alexander decided it was time to move on. "It was nice meeting you, Mr. Kim," he said. "I'll be seeing you around."

"I'm sure she is a very lucky woman." Ruth was pretty sure about that.
"Well, then my apologies, Miss Flitzpatrick," he said. Maybe he ought to give the personal files another look through. He needed to take note of things like marital statuses and the like. He grinned at the young woman's enthusiasm to get started on her first assignment. "Then I'll be in touch soon," he said. "I'm afraid I have to be on my way now. You have a good day, though."

They did know one another once upon a time... funny how years of LIFE made one forget things. Hehe.
Alexander narrowed his eyes in thought. Was it just him, or was this woman looking at him a certain way? Maybe like she knew him? Hmm. No, couldn't be. He'd have noticed her from her personal records, yes? He thought so.
Then she called him by name, his first name, and his eyebrows rose in mild surprise. Apparently, they'd been at Hogwarts together, which still didn't ring a bell until the woman mentioned her husband's name. "Ah, Jonah Scamander. I do remember him, yes," he said. They hadn't hung out much, as Alexander tended to stay with the Quidditch crowd, but he did remember the man from classes. "Ravenclaw prefect? You know, I do remember you now." He'd been the Slytherin captain and had remembered most of the prefects and captains from his time. Likely because he'd had to work hard to stay out of trouble around them.
"I'm afraid I have to get going, though," he said. "We'll catch up, though?" That last part was half statement, half question.

Alexander laughed lightly at the woman's first statement, "A comical one, hmm?" he asked. "Well, that's something we can use more of around the workplace." Alexander did enjoy a good joke or two now and then. "...and I do look forward to you helping us look good," he added, though, with the way he hoped to run things, he planned for them to look good regardless.
Then she asked about his fiancee, and Alexander couldn't help the smile that spread across his face. "Her name is Hecate Lafay," he answered. "She's the Potions Mistress at Hogwarts School." He looked around the room again, noted that he'd spoken to everyone, and then turned back to the woman. "I do have to head on now, though. It was good meeting you," he added.
Then with one more glance around the room, he exited the work area and made way to his office.
"Good day to you too. Just call me Ms. Daniels, ma'am makes me feel like my mother." she replied with a good natured chuckle. Victoria tucked one hand into her left pocket and shifted her weight to her left leg as she eased into a relaxed position."Yes I remember. Good to see you again around the office Ms. Warrington. How are you today?"
Natasha joined in the laughter "Ms Daniels it is then." she replied with good natured twinkle in her eyes. To feel like your own mother was the last thing she wanted one of her bosses to feel like. "I'm very good thank you. How are you today Ms Daniels?"

Shaking Ms Ward's ha extended hand Natasha's face lit up into a beam "I love my position. It's very different from the job i held before coming to the Ministry." Selling furniture's weren't as interesting or challenging as being a liaison between the Minister's office and the public. If you weren't on your toes something small could rapidly turn into something big.

"Well, Sir sometimes you have to light up the though situations with a hearty laugh or a good story. Otherwise the will to keep on working and fighting will soon dissapear." Natasha commented seriously. It was a fact. Every workplace needed someone to now and then lift up the spirits of its co-workers otherwise people wouldn't do their was good as they could.
"I promise to do my very best to not let you down, Sir." She would pull shame both over herself and her families name if she didn't do her very best to aid the minister of magic in the best way possble to her.
Minister Greingoth changed the topic to speak about his fianceé Hecate Lafay who was the Potions Mistress at Hogwarts. "I used to attend Hogwarts but I unfortnatley never had the pleasure to meet Ms Lafay." She had probably started working there after Natasha had graduated. "It was good meeting you too Minister." Natasha called after him as he retreated and let the office no doubt to take care of more pressing matters.

Alexander is quite impressed with his son this time. It's a possibility that Professor Lafay could have mentioned him to the Minister right? Jonathan loved Potions and he likes Lafay a lot and their History of Magic teacher. Was it... uhmmm... Who was he again... Scabior right? Yes, Jonathan was fond of talking about them during dinner. "Oh, Sierra Greingoth is in the fourth year." he repeated. Of course he did know some basics about their new minister. After all he is the Minister's Advisor. Although, he thought Sierra was in the fifth year though. He must have read it wrong. Oh well. However, Sierra does have a brother right? His name escapes him though. "That's really nice"
Alexander then gave a small bow to the minister. Force of habits perhaps. It was after all in his culture to do so to someone of higher role. "Pleasure to have met you as well Minister" he said as he saw the Minister excused himself and roamed around to greet more people.
Natasha joined in the laughter "Ms Daniels it is then." she replied with good natured twinkle in her eyes. To feel like your own mother was the last thing she wanted one of her bosses to feel like. "I'm very good thank you. How are you today Ms Daniels?"
Vicky nodded and said,"Thank you. I'm fine today. Alot of work as usual but I decided to take a break and come and meet everyone. It's really nice to walk around the office sometimes. Get to know your environment, find where the coffee and good snacks are.", before she smiled a bit at her last mention.
"I just hope not too many weird things happen here like what I would expect on the Mysteries level." she commented looking around."I'm sure everything is pretty normal here." she continued turning back to Natasha.

Of course it was nice to meet MRS. Scamander. Heh. Nodding politely Tamara went back to placing the photo in JUST the right place.
Turning her head slightly to smile at the other woman Tamara said, "Yes I do indeed have children. Three to be exact. Lucian, Deidra, and Dale. The lights of my life." Whether they appreciated their mother or not. Heh.
"Three. Wow! They must be quite handful." Ruth herself couldn't handle one of her little cousins while the woman already have three children? That was just WOW!
"Pretty names. How old are they? If I may ask." she asked the other woman

"Its very nice to meet you too, Ma'am." she said with a smile. And Ruth is looking forward to work with the woman. "I love it here." Its definitely different from her previous work place but she like it, she feel more homey here. "The grandeur is really amazing." She added. "How you been, Ms. Daniels?" she asked the Senior Undersecretary.

Tam merely smiled slightly at the woman wearing a cloak... who wore cloaks anymore? Whatever. Landing her eyes back on the Minister she covered her mouth with her hand. "Oh my apologies for using your first name. How inappropriate. But yes, yes. We shall have to catch up soon, sir," she said as she waved for him to go ahead. Hehe. Not that he would wait on her go ahead or anything.
Smiling at Ruth she shook her head. "Not so much handfuls anymore. Dale is the only one who lives with me anymore. She is my youngest. Deidra is at boarding school and Lucian... who knows where he is. They are all old enough to have stopped giving me such headaches, but still love to get a rise out of me." See giving the ages of her kids would make her look OLD and Tamara was not about to do that. Nuh Uh.
Ok so after having settled into a desk that was along a far wall, a bit off the beaten track of the work area and cubicles where not too many people would bother him, Armen Recard found his way to where the desks started. He was carrying a small notepad and a quill with him as he trudged his way up and around his fellow employees waiting to take their orders of beverages.
"Hello there can I get anything for you while you work?" he asked stiffly, adding a small smile here and there to those who seemed innocent enough into not being scorched by his annoyance that was mainly targeted to the Minister himself.
Iridesca glanced up from her spot and her paperwork for an instance to see if anyone else was awake in the work area...it was soooo quiet that she wasn't really sure...she had just had that small panicked feeling that she was the only one in the area working...
Glancing around and seeing a few heads and finally hearing a few conversations, she looked back at her paperwork and her to do list...Yes, the catered meal for the Russian party headed their way...
She stood up and headed hastily out of the area on a mission...a mission to find out what in the heck the Russian Minister and his party might want to eat...next stop the Department of International Cooperation, an old stomping ground of hers...and then the Food Court to talk to...well...someone......yes she was a little bit nervous but she felt like this was the best route to follow.

She was finally back at work properly. Her daughter was four months old and though she loved every minute of those four months spent at home she was thrilled to be back at work. It felt good being productive and busy with things that didn't include changing dirty diapers.
Mhm.
Layla poured over the paper that was in front of her while she sipped on her coffee. Well at least no major scandals affecting the ministry had been reported on. This was good.
And was it her or was it just awfully quiet around here?
