Another new feature to the Department is a special Weather Modification Room for those interested in weather. This room, at first, looks like a general, empty room with a window stretching on the far side of the wall opposite the door. The ceiling is resembled to look like a sky, which changes depending on the various weather charms cast on it by the caster.

On the left hand side of the room, a large map of Great Britain is hung up on the wall. By speaking into the map and saying the name of a town, county or general area, you can change the weather of the room to resemble that area. You can also select a general area by tapping it with your wand and the weather in the room will change accordingly. Do be careful though; a simple drizzle can turn into a heavy downpour as quickly as a simple tap in the right area.

Because of this, a large wardrobe can be found just on the left of the door. Instead of normal robes and muggle wear, the wardrobe houses raincoats, snowsuits, snow boots, wellington boots and various hats. All of these clothing items have been charmed to fit the person who wears them. Ms Quinn will let anyone borrow any item they need to but he only asks that you place it back in its correct place once you’re done. Due to the extreme weather conditions that this room is known to face, the Department Head’s also placed a warning sign right outside the room to notify people that the current weather in the room is too extreme to enter unless you’re a professional.

While this room is generally used for practice on weather charms, this room may also be used by anyone in the department to practice their spellwork if they wish.
