As much as he really really wanted to be part of the investigation being conducted around the ministry concerning the weird behavior, Simon had to admit Wes was right. He was already too involved. Too mixed up in the situation, especially with the nice healing scar he had on his thumb from Kyle's bite. And so he had to be kept away somewhat and that was the reason he had been put on another task.

An important one. And though it was a guard position, it was far more up his job description then his previous task at the orientation.

And so Simon was seated outside the holding cells, keeping an eye on the red-headed woman accused of the troubles at Hogwarts. At least he could assist in that investigation and be of some use. She had after all effected friends of his still back at Hogwarts. Not that he was going to let that cloud his judgement like the thing with Kyle. Nope...the YATI was going to be good and just do his job.

A silvery African Wild Dog came bounding through the walls only to stop gracefully and yet very abruptly in front of Bennett.

Emily's voice, low, but clear enough to be heard, spoke softly.
"Heading out. Rotation is in effect, when a relief is provided you'll get your next orders."
The message was also intended for Chosen.

The patronus was unexpected. Legend had just barely taken one step into the viewing room when Emily's dog came running in before him. As the message was given the blond simply raised a brow. Who was Emily to say what the plan was? That was Jax's job. Emily was in charge of the YATI's and he was no longer a YATI.

So it didn't apply to him.

But.....

"Jax says we are suppose to check one of empty cells before we rotate. The one closest to her, to make sure it is also secure." Legend said properly walking into the room and giving Simon a wave. "Do you want to do that alone or do you need help?" You know, help from an OFFICIAL Auror.

Simon was watching his charge with attention though not too worried about things. His gaze was grasped however as first Emily's patronus appeared and then Legend was visible in flashes behind the silvery creature. The YATI didn't answer the wave, busy listening to the patronus' message at first before turning his attention to his former classmate now fellow YAT--no auror.

Jax said...he was back?

Maybe he was and maybe he wasn't but Simon knew he had been seeing less and less of the man and thought he might have been sent on an assignment of his own. Not that it was his business and would likely be revealed when needed. So he weighed the two orders together for just a second and finding them complimentary, responded to his companion's words.

"I'm perfectly fine doing it," he said calmly. As in yes Legend, I know you graduated the program before me but that doesn't make you necessarily more skilled or perfect. Not that he would say that aloud unless the other man pushed him way to far. "Give you a chance to watch the woman." Simon almost added...if its not beneath you, but he wasn't going to sink to Legend's jabs. He straightened up from where he had been leaning slightly against the wall and headed in the direction of next door...the cell in question.

"I have a name, you know," Amarantha was sooooooooooo bored. This place was dull, and no one would talk to her, and the walls were ugly, and she hated here. Super genius girl, older and prettier and smarter than these stupid puppies, and they had her caged up like a creature.

It was so insulting.

"You should call a lady by her name. It's only polite."

And the woman was speaking as Simon returned from his check of the other room. Apparently she was annoyed with his choice of calling her a woman."Yes, I do know that," the YATI said calmly not showing too much emotion. The job called for him to be disconnected from the case as much as possible. So even though he had friends and mentors who had fallen under the time thief's actions, he needed to stand back from it as best he could.

"Though perhaps I prefer to not use it...unless of course you can give the full name of any one of your victims." Yeah, he doubted she gave much thinking or feeling for those she had effected with whatever she had effected them.

"Er...." Legend looked at the woman in the cell and blinked. "I forgot it." He lacking his best Auror face, but still seriously. Her name was something weird right? It was hard to remember that was all he knew. What was also strange to him was that Simon already returned!

"Honestly?" Legend rose a brow. "Come on, follow me, you probably didn't even check right." Clearly without him as a YATI by his side Simon couldn't do anything. Or he needed Josh. Perhaps there just needed to be two of them at one time. Legend quickly stepped into the side cell, the weird woman wasn't going anywhere. He gazed around, and pulled out his wand to cast a few spells, before rolling his eyes and ushing Simon in.

"See. You missed something."

Simon raised an eyebrow as his companion reacted to his return apparently too soon for the former YATI's liking. He followed Legend even though he knew another search was fruitless and would turn up nothing. "There is nothing there." Seriously...was the other young man going to try to make a fool of him even now by pretending there was something he missed? Even going so far as ushering him into the room like rubbing a bad puppy in its own mistake.

How immature.

And he was the lower level one.

" There wasn't anything when I searched just now...nor when I searched before you even arrived. Even used the exact same spells you just did. I had meerly gone to look again to satisfy your need to boss people around." Cue arms across the chest trying not to let Legend get to him. Something his fellow former Gryffindor had gotten oftly good at since their graduation.

Ah. Gotcha.

Legend just nodded and looked around, before walking over to the cell door as if he were about to leave. "Well Simon...you're right. There is nothing in here...." He had done all the spells, and everything correctly. Not that Legend had expected him not to, because of course Simon knew everything that he was suppose to do, he wasn't dumb or anything. Just trusting. "...except for you." With THAT being said he locked the door attempting sealing Simon inside.

"Constant vigilance." The blonde quoted.

After leaving the conference room and his very quick meeting with Wesley, he had moved back to his desk to put his suit jacket over the back of his chair and to make sure everyone had left the office - no-one should be sitting around doing nothing when there was so much work to be done.

Having checked that, he'd moved through to the holding cells to check on Chosen and Bennett and to make sure that they hadn't started yet another argument - especially in front of the redhead... no - that wouldn't be professional at all. He sighed slightly, standing outside the door to compose himself fully before he pushed it open with enough force to make the door bang loudly off the wall - hopefully it would stun the witch... but likely not.

He moved through the door, however and instantly narrowed his eyes. "Legend..." He said in a very low, soft voice, his face unimpressed. "Open it. Now." He raised a single eyebrow and crossed his arms. He wasn't impressed - this was no time to play tricks on each other. He needed his Auror's alert and hard working - but bumbling idiotic fools. Honestly! Where was Sabel and Emily when he needed them.

He didn't open the cell though - oh no. Legend would do that... and once he had completed the full checks on the cells himself he would take them just outside and get the whole story - where the wench in the cell wouldn't hear them.

Honestly! As if he didn't have enough work and stress to deal with already.

That was easy. Getting Legend to back down and not cause a ruckus which is what usually happened. Simon worked on composing himself before going back out to do their duty and watch the redheaded prisonor. That was until he realized his mistake in the matter.

That Legend had backed down TOO easily.

The YATI spun around just as the auror spoke once more only to find the door closing and locking between them. "CHOSEN!" he yelled as he hurried to the door in a vain attempt to stop it from happening. Yep...last name for this one because he was not playing nice. They both knew the cells only opened up from the outside and even with his clearance as MLE he wouldn't be able to open it. Simon bit back a few curses and debated his actions.

He had come to the conclusion that sending a patronus was his best bet when he found out he didn't have to. Jax had made an appearance and was ordering his former classmate to open the door. Thank goodness someone had decided to check on them.

"This is cute," Amarantha leaned against her cell door and peered at the men she could see, although there was now one trapped in a room down the hall. Precious. Now she had company. "Your guppies are fighting with each other, Mister Auror. Perhaps you need to throw them back into the pond and try for something a bit more... mature." Look, a fishing metaphor. She'd read it in one of her books.

"I'm hungry, I'm cold, and my muscles are starting to atrophy from lack of use. If you don't take proper care of me, you could face International charges."

It was genius.

Brilliant even. Especially judging by Simon's yell. Ah.

But then the hairs on the back of his neck began to stand up and there was just an energy that entered the room that Legend knew something was going to happen. His grip fell to his wand, but it loosened once he saw who it was. Oh, just Jax! Legend looked over at the man a grin just about break on his face but then he noticed his expression.

"I-" He paused. And then looked down at the floor before nodding slowly. Legend was JUST about to open the cell but then he stopped turning his face back to Jax. "No." The blonde said crossing his arms. "Simon was the one who got himself stuck in there, so he might as well get himself out." And yes it was Simon's fault. Not getting locked in- no Legend had done that, but Simon had believed him.

"I remember back when I first joined the MLE. We had a conversation in the bathroom and you told me all about tells and questioning everything." His eyes flickered to the red head, it wasn't any information that would help her. "To be an Auror you have to ask questions, you have to make sure that who you are getting your orders from are legitimate. Simon didn't do that. I just told him you told him to do something and he didn't think twice. So he deserves to be in there." If the other man simply asked he wouldn't be in the cell.

And ask for the red head? Legend simply snorted. Silly woman. "Maybe he could try for you. Nothing is more mature than a billion year old lady right?"

Simon could just barely hear de Talone comment on the situation, at least the part about being amused with Legend and him fighting with each other. He didn't care much for surely the red headed criminal had a right to have any effect on his containment. He did hear Jax's order to release him as well as Legend's defiance to do so. He was going to use it as a LESSON for him. Oh certainly not. There were better things to be paying attention to then helping the de Talone case or finding out what was wrong with the infected ministry workers.

Now was not the time for a lesson. Surely all hands needed to be on deck.

"There's also supposed to be the level of trust between colleagues...especially when on assignment," he remarked in response to Legend's attempt to blame it all on him. "Else how is one supposed to feel you have their back when in a more dangerous situation then just being in the office. I figured on trusting Chosen and obeying....obeying a superior." Got how he hated that word, especially when used towards the former prefect. It irked him to have to but it was the truth. He hadn't believed that Legend would be playing tricks when they were working together in a middle of an active case.

Training...yes....but not a case that had the wizarding world buzzing.

Emily, taking long strides, because she was all about being 'on a mission' walked down the line of holding cells to where something mildly chaotic was ensuing. What the?....

She gave Jax a nod, stared at Chosen and shook her head at Bennett.

"Why are we wasting time?..." This was work, was it not? Because really, she expected better from them... even if it was mildly amusing.

"Chosen, let the YATI out." Now. "I'm sure he's learnt his lesson."

Jax sighed, and growled slightly at the immaturity (and underhanded-ness) shown by Legend. As much as he wanted to give him in to trouble, the newly fledged Auror was right - he had constantly warned him about Constant Vigilence. He and Izzy and Damien all had.

"He's right, Simon." Jaxton said slowly, while staring at Legend. "And as much as you need to be able to trust and depend on your partner; you need to constantly be aware of the fact that they could be under the influence or it could be someone else in disguise - not everyone is as noble as you might think."

"However, that doesn't mean you can take it onto yourself to teach him the lesson, Legend. That is for Wesley, Emily and I to discuss and implement." He said, frowning slightly - however he'd have a smirk to himself at a later date... when it wasn't so inconvenient.

He looked behind him quickly as he heard the door open and nodded to Emily - good to have someone sensible back. With the talk finished with the men, he once again motioned to Legend to let Simon out - he however didn't state the fact again. They had things to do, little time to do it in and he had little to no patience... and it was only the start of a very long day. YATI's look out.

While Simon was blahblahblahing Legend was busy believing he was right. As always. His eyes flickered over once he heard someone else coming toward the cells. Instantly Legend reached for his wand, but relaxed just a bit once he realized it was Emily.

She was still dangerous.

So he was still holding his wand.

"We aren't wasting time." Not MUCH of it anyways. Technically, Emily had been an Auror a year longer than he had. But Legend was no longer a YATI. That meant that Emily was no longer in charge of him, since she was only in charge of the YATI's right? Or was he wrong? Legend hesitated but not for long because Jax spoke up once more.

The young Auror beamed. THAT was what Gryffindors AND Auror's did. They stuck to their guts, and stood up for themselves, and because of that he was RIGHT.

"I'm sorry then." Legend said with a nod to Jax. He didn't need to apologize to Simon. Nope, because he was right. "I just figured it would be less expected from someone who wasn't in charge." It didn't matter anyways because Legend Chosen was right. Walking over to Simon's cell he did a few non-verbal spells, waved his wand, and the cell door clicked open.

"What are you waiting for Simon? We're waisting time." Legend grinned.

The sound of the door to the holding cells opened once more to a more subdued tone and hearing a more female voice, Simon realized it was Emily even before she came into view from the small opening. Learned his lesson...right. Never, NEVER trust Legend Chosen at anything. At least she agreed with Jax in the fact that he deserved to be OUTSIDE not inside the cell.

Unfortunately when the head auror spoke up once more taking charge, it was clear that the butt of the joke was him and the former YATI was seen to be more in the right. Or semi in the right as Jax remarked about teaching lessons being part of the more superior men and women of the department's job. Though somehow it didn't feel so stupid when Wes or Jax did anything to the younger members...probably because they didn't delight so much in being smart-aliky and superior to everyone else.

One of these days Legend was going to be the one who tripped up...eventually.

But now was not the time to think on these things since he was getting released from his temporary surroundings. As soon as the cell was opened, Simon slipped out into the corridor fighting the urge to roll his eyes as Legend spoke impatiently. Nope, he would be the mature one of the pair. "So sorry," he appologized, "I had been doing my job." After all, he HAD be guarding the prisoner before Legend showed up and caused trouble.

Blah blah blah.

Emily glanced down at her watch. Where they going to stand around all day? Cause it was making her hungry... hungry to kick some butt and for food.
"Is there anything in particular you wanted me to do?" she asked Jax. Perhaps she could at least put her skills to good use instead of standing around and watching kids waste time.

She cast a side glance at their detainee.. this must have been the highlight of her day.

"Stop." Jaxton said to the 'boys' standing in front of him - he didn't have the time or the patience needed to listen to them having a contest over who was at fault. Legend shouldn't have locked him in, but Simon shouldn't have done it without thinking about things first. However that was it all done and sorted. He held up his hand to stop Legend from retorting at Simon - he really didn't have the patience.

God it was going to be a day for lots and lots of coffee.

He looked at Emily and gave a silent prayer to whoever was listening - that they'd graced him with the young YATI Leader. God knows he needed someone else to help look out for the idiots some times.

"Yes, if you can come with me..." He said to Emily, nodding. They needed to go and organise everything for de Talone's interrogation which would likely happen tomorrow after the others in their department had been to the scene and gottten more information about her.

"And you two," he looked at Legend and Simon- "can stay here and act like a proper Auror should and watch out for her." He motioned his head in the way of the witch who was making their time busier. Brilliant. Just brilliant.

Though head auror was something that Emily aspired to be... in a quite distant future, she did not envy Jax at this time. Dealing with YATI's and young aurors made her want to puke. Instead, she just rolled her eyes.

Yeah. Grow up.

Depsite being not much older than the two boys, Emily knew she was much more mature... she had to be.

"Sure thing," she replied, nodding. Shooting the boys one last warning stare, she turned and led the way out. No point standing around wasting more time.

Things had only gotten stranger as time moved on when it came to the meeting with Wes in reception. At least, Dorian had gone from concern that his boss was aware that he hadn't just encountered Natasha on the way into the building, to exasperation and the slightest bit of irritation at the glares from Roxanne, to an entirely different type of concern as zombie shad shown up and started munching on wands that had appeared out of nowhere. At least, if Wes was correct, and Dorian wasn't about to question the department head's memory even if he was distracted by his wife being infected, the wands hadn't been there before the few seconds before the zombies had arrived. He remembered dealing with Ms. Whitworth at the Ministry orientation gala, after all, so he'd been more keeping watch to see if either of the two men were going to suddenly come after him, along with making sure Wes didn't end up with a sister-in-law infected as well as his wife. He hardly paid attention to Roxanne thinking he was useless, considering he knew for a fact it wasn't professional opinions running that thought process. Wes and the two A&Cers had gotten things under control, and Aron had responded to the alley cat patronus in his own time. He'd slightly nodded to Aron, though, before turning his attention back to Wes, and then Natasha, as they had both spoken. "That's his job," he'd said simply, to the comment about Wes' reaction time. He didn't mind it, or the idea that certain others thought he was useless. He wasn't; he just knew to pick his battles after what he'd already experienced, and he had chosen to protect instead of contain.

"Of course I'll accompany you. There's no reason you need to deal with this on your own, and I imagine Wes and the others will be occupied for a while," he added, reaching a hand out to help her up and escort her down the hall to the holding area and into the long viewing room that ran along one end. "We should be safer in here, but we can still observe what happens." He imagined Wes knew to activate the mirror, but just to make sure he flicked his wand once as he headed down to the end that the quarantine room was located on. Perhaps they should conjure up a chair or two, as well, depending on how long they stayed. There had been that agreement to watch the twins, after all, so he imagined it wouldn't be too long. He was willing to escort her home too, if necessary. More than teh interest that had gotten him to agree on the date, he was honestly concerned about her after the information about Isobel. It was a mix of professional and personal concern, along with the sense of not wanting to fail his friend in his time of need. And protecting Natasha was the least he could do, while a cure was being found.

Simon heard the stop, figuring it was more to insure Legend obey and not cause more trouble since he himself had already stopped whatever trouble he was being accused of. It was always a great day when you got in hot water because of someone else's actions...NOT. Whatever...he would just do his job from now on and try to ignore things that made him out to be the bad guy.

And hope he didn't get flack for doing that. It almost seemed like he could never win on either side.

He inwardly groaned as Jax told them...meaning him and LEGEND to continue to stay and watch DeTalone. It wasn't the task he was unhappy about, but the partner. Why couldn't Emily stay, or he continue alone? The YATI had been working fine and doing everything right until Legend showed up to supposedly help him. Simon bit back a sigh and resumed his former post, staying quiet and neutral even as Emily glared at the two of them before leaving with the head auror.

Just do your job, Bennett, he reminded himself as he worked as guard.

However when Dorian entered the viewing area with an unfamiliar woman, Simon perked up a little. Even if it was to show that he was still on guard and completely alert of the situation and environment surrounding him, which he was. He stayed quiet, giving the division head the first speak but it became clear it was for the other case that the duo had come into the area as they stayed to themsleves...the quarantined people not too far away. Which of course reminded him of Kyle and caused an unconscious quiet sigh to escape him.

Tasha felt a little silly even if it was understandable that she was worried for her sister’s well-being and had been a little frazzled by the incident with the wand eating zombies accompanied by Roxanne’s glares. She was an independent woman that could fend for herself and knew how to use her wand to protect both herself and those around her. With Dorian naturally stepping in front of her to protect her like how he was trained. It had she admitted in the privacy of her head been nice to let Dorian do that. If Wesley hadn’t acted as swiftly as he had then Tasha would have pulled her weight to aid the other people with the two drooling ministry workers. Shuddering at the memory of the wands being eaten up by actual people Tasha said quietly. "I hope the wands that the um ‘drooling’ people ate up didn’t belong to anyone."

She held onto Dorian’s hand as they walked down the corridor and into the viewing room with a big glass wall. Not pulling her hand out of his she murmured quietly. "Staying safe is good." As a thought came to her she breathed out a little wide-eyed as she pulled her hand free to walk closer to the mirror. "Izzy could start eating wood too since she is infected too. But Wesley said she wasn't bad off. So she shouldn’t do that---"Or could she? Tasha didn't want to see her sister eat wood it would be an upsetting sight she was sure.

Focusing her mind on the twins she asked Dorian. "Any idea what we will see when the mirror is activated?" Tasha gazed around the room spotting a man (Simon) on the other side of the room. He looked like he was on guard. Tasha shot him a small smile before she turned back to Dorian and the black mirror. Was this an unsafe room?

Roxanne walked out of the quarantine room casting a Scourgify on herself, the zombie she had been in charge of had drooled on her. Gross. That had been the entire reason for her to avoid the whole zombie situation in the first place. But now she was right in the thick of it. And having to deal with getting her own co-prosecutor down here so that she could put him in quarantine. Not her idea of a good time. And who was going to help her if he got out of hand? She wasn't near enough trusting any of the newbies for her to ask for their help, Aron was otherwise occupied and she didn't want Wes to think she couldn't handle it. It was a conundrum, that was for sure.

She was wrapped up in trying to figure this out that she hadn't even noticed Dorian in the hallway until she had quite literally ran into him. She jumped back quickly into the wall, hitting her head hard while she was at it. "Excuse me," she muttered, rubbing the side of her head and not looking up. Just speaking had been enough to make her head hurt worse and to make her dizzy, so she figured it was probably not a good idea.
