She wondered if there were going to be players from Holyhead Harpies - her FAVORITE team. It looked like there were none at the moment, but she hid her disappoinment and smiled at all her "teachers" as she walked by.
And then it became kind of scary. With none of her best friends nearby, the Fifth Year was surprisingly quiet. Still, she had to abide by her plan and get to know people here. Leah put on her usual grin and waved at the person closest to her (WILLA), who asked a question that she was curious about too. "Hi," she said, "are you excited?" Hmmm? The girl must be, to want to play when they have been here for less than ten minutes.
Oh, look, a person talking to her. Willa tried her best to smile politely (something her mum had been trying to teach her; she didn't smile much). "Yeah, I wanna start playing." DUH. She was itching to get up in the air and HIT some stuff, but she was being patient for now. Obviously the other girl was excited too, or else she probably wouldn't be at the camp.
"How long have you been playing?" Willa asked the other girl. She was curious to see how much experience these other people had because she had... very little. She could fly, yes, and she was very good at hitting things with sticks, but she had very minimal practice doing the two of them together. And chasing a ball around around the pitch just sounded boring.

YES, WARM UPS! EEEEEE.
Willa quite possibly could have been the first one up in the air. As soon as the lady up there said "laps", Willa mounted her broom and kicked off from the ground. YES, she was READY.

Quidditch Camp.
The very idea was beyond exciting to hear & Josette couldn't wait partake in such a fun camp! She hadn't played Quidditch since she was on the house team her first year, which was four years ago! It was by chance she had heard about this camp & she was very thankful to have the opportunity to do so.
She arrived with her broom & her beater's bat at hand. She wasn't late was she? Oh Drats, she hoped not. The fifteen year old approached the group & had just heard one of the older players suggesting they do some warm ups involving laps. She gave a quick wave to the group & an apologetic smile, "H-Hello everyone.."
Was it times for those laps now? She was ready if it was time!

Listen, West's schedule was a tight one these days. Sure Quidditch Season was over but he had a lot of studio time and gigs and... well, it was hard work having so much on his plate, but he loved it.
He wasn't late though, just exactly on time. West Odessa approached the group, took his sunglasses off, and nodded acknowledgement at the other professional players, as well as several other familiar faces actually. Toby got a grin. Now what did he need Quidditch Camp for, huh?
"West Odessa, I'm one of the starting chasers for the Wigtown Wanderers... league cup winners for this season." Also, wrockstar, but hey, they knew. They knew who he was and what he did.
His broom was slung over his shoulder casually as he glanced around. Laps? Good plan, Esme.
Could he steal a Derry hug before mounting his own broom?

He looked over at Esme when he heard her say 'hello' back to him. "How are you?" He asked her. Beck looked around with his hazel eyes at all the teenagers to see if there were any strolling in late but then the Frenchman looked over at Esme as she spoke to the whole group. That was great idea. Beck grabbed his own broom. He mounted his broom was about to kick off when another player (West) had made his way in and started talking. Beck rolled his eyes as the next quidditch player showed up. He wasn't an eye roller and he doesn't get annoyed that often but this guy has one big ego. There was no denying that at all. Yeah, sure maybe this West is an alright person but who knows. Maybe it was just the way Beck heard it.

As Kace was waiting around, he noticed other quidditch professionals started to make their way onto the field. He heard the seeker was here and the chaser. Hmm which one to choose. He really wanted to try seeker but he also wanted to improve his chaser skills too. Ugh..! But then he noticed Cinna was here. He turned around and was surprised she was here but then again he remembered her mentioning she did like quidditch. "Hey Cinna. You ready for this camp to start?" he smirked. He knew she was happy because Bart was here. But he heard someone mention to do some laps.
He mounted his firebolt and was ready to take some laps. He wondered if he should push off. He didn't see anyone else do it. He noticed Josette was here and he made his way over to her. "Hey Josette.." he greeted her. He hoped she remembered him.
KIDDO. Cassius thought this was VERY funny because he was NOT a kid. Not at ALL. He would be SIXTEEN eventually...later this year. So HEH. "Well, yeah, I know--" he cleared his throat. "I do admire your Quidditch talents, TOO, you know--" he said with a nod. "And I play chaser on my team at school--"
And theeeeen another player--IT WAS ESME WHITTEBROOOOOK?!?! Cassius almost fell to the FLOOR--she was AN AMAZING CHASER--AND WAIT WAS THAT WEST ODESSA? ;FHRUHFGHGIEHGIEHG
He winked at Derry before taking off to start doing LAPS. Cassius hopped onto his broom and took off--LAPS. READY. GO. YES.
Freddy followed Quidditch. He DID recognize the women, but he was turning red and felt MUCH too shy to say anything--and--they had to RUN? (Because laps sounded like RUNNING to him....)
So Freddy took off, running--until he saw everyone FLYING into the air--MERLIN
MERLIN!
HOW WAS HE SUPPOSED TO KNOW LAPS MEANT IN THE AIR?!?! And to think, he had just been about to ask why RUNNING was important for QUIDDITCH. THANK MERLIN HE DIDN'T! Freddy instantly fumbled with his broom to try to catch up with everyone...three laps...
BLOODY BROOMSTICK.
And...he almost tripped. On his broom. Well.

His eyes moved when he heard his girl’s voice. “Thanks, some crazy girl got it for me. I’d feel a bit threatened, but hey I do like the broom.” He laughed and gave her a wink. It was the best birthday present a girlfriend or anyone could have gotten him. His eyes turning back when Beck made his introductions. Tornadoes he knew well. Cinna’s dad managing and all, plus Wade. He couldn’t help but wonder why Wade wasn’t out today.
He Was glad Toby was doing better. The older puffer had made it into Bart’s trusted few. He was a good captain and he stayed out of Bart’s business. That he liked in people. “Good, we have a few matches coming that we are going to need you.” The team was tight, but Toby was a monster on a broom. He looked back to Esme has she spoke to the group and he chuckled thinking about how she had to be in her glory without his step mother. She might have tried to pull that joke off, but he knew there was truth there. HELLO! Anyone that met the woman would know that.
Laps, well it wasn’t hitting things, but he’d take it. Mounting his broom he pulled his bat up under his arm. He was just about to push off when someone was screaming at them. Dude they weren’t seventy they could hear. He turned to see Odessa standing there. Yeah, another celebrity that wasn’t really a celebrity in his eyes. The whole going to school with them thing just made them a little more real, that and he lived Quidditch and pro’s daily. So he just nodded at the older guy and pushed off to get in the air. So many chasers, a seeker, and a keeper. Where the hell was the beaters? He could be the U17 teacher for the beater group, yep he could so be in that spot if needed.
Cinna just laughed. Threatened her? Pfff please. She rolled her eyes. He was kidding, right? “No, I’d never feel threatened, over someone giving you a broom.” She smirked. “I’m sure that I can top that.” Yep. She was very sure of that. She knew just how much he loved his broom. The fact that she was the one who had gotten it for him, made it ever better.
Kace! Hehe it was always nice to have him around. Even though it was weird to have him around without Emmy. She wasn’t used to seeing just him. Emmy on the other hand she seen everyday, she did live with her. So yeah she got plenty of Emmy time. “Of course I’m ready. I was born ready.” Okay maybe not but having a dad that was all about quidditch. She may as well be born ready for the quidditch life. She didn’t choose it, it chose her. But luckily she loved it.
Well, hey would you look there. It was Beck. She knew him very well. Probably better than these losers knew any of these other players here. Did they ever babysit one of their kids? Probably not. She smiled and waved at Beck. “Hey, Beck.” She simply beamed, but not going all nuts like these other people was doing. If she was doing keeper did that mean that she would be working with him. Or maybe she play chaser so she could work with Esme. That would be cool too. Maybe that would be what she was going to do. She could brush up on her chasing skills. It had been a while since she’d done that. In fact, in had been a while since she’d done any quidditch things.
Speaking of Esme, She smiled and nodded excitedly. “Yes, I’m very ready. We are starting soon, right?” She hoped so. She hoped they really was just going to stand around, while there was quidditch that could be played. Well West Odessa was here. Clearly making a point of announcing himself. Great. Laps it That just sounded better than listening to this. It also meant that they were warming up, and it was sooner to time to get to the good stuff. She didn’t hastate getting on her broom, kicking off the ground and zooming off into the air.

Was that a forced smile? Leah knew there were people who did not like to smile much, but it always hurt more when people forced themselves to be nice, like they were trying to be sarcastic. Nevertheless, the girl was trying to be polite and that was good. "Me too," she looked towards the end of the pitch where the hoops were at, "but I'm really nervous at the same time."
Ugh, she had been dreading this question. It was also the main reason why the fifteen year old was anxious - she did not play Quidditch much. What if she was worse than everybody and embarrassed herself? "Not much," Leah laughed nervously. "I learned flying in my First Year, tried out for the House team, failed... and then Quidditch was cancelled." It was better to be honest.
SPOILER!!: ESME!

Hearing her name, she glanced at the boy, realizing almost immediately that she knew him somewhat. "Oh, hey.. you're Rebecca's step-son, right?" Poor kid. What was his name.. Bart? He had been to visit the locker room a couple times. She couldn't help but to laugh as he talked about her manager though. "I think that's my favorite part about summer," she joked.
The Chaser watched as a few more showed up, then gave the other pro to arrive a smile and wave in return. Ferrier, wasn't it? She had never met the woman, but she did play professional Quidditch and she did know who she played against. Oh gosh, she was loud. Esme chuckled lightly to herself as Derry's sudden voice startled her slightly, but she could admit that was a good way to get the group's attention. That might come in handy later.
Looking again as she heard her name, she smiled brightly at the girl who looked somewhat familiar (Cinna). "Hey.. are you ready to get started?" She looked eager, and Esme was about ready to get started herself. Watching a few more kids show up, she gave the Tornados keeper a smile as he said hello. "Hey, Beck!" They had met before, and she had faced him on more than one occasion, so she was familiar with him.
Allowing a few more minutes for some more to show up, Esme thought maybe they should get started. They likely knew each other from school, so they probably had ample time to talk by now, they could at least do some basic things while they waited for anyone else. Laps. That sounded nice. Leah could fly, that was for sure. She might have forgotten some specific skills, but she still remembered the touch of a broom in her hands when she flew. She liked the warm breeze against her face when she was in the sky.
She followed the lead of Derry the professional and tied her hair up into a loose ponytail. Setting her broom up into the correct position, she was about to kick off when she noticed somebody nearby.
SPOILER!!: HADY!

Sighing quietly and clutching her broom tighter in her hand she slowly made her way over towards where the older kids/adults were. Maybe someone she kinda knew from classes would see her and explain what she was meant to be doing. That would be nice...and keep her from having to ask herself. Not that she couldn't ask, she just simply would rather not have to...
A younger girl Leah recognized from Hogwarts was here. She looked kind of nervous? But it did not seem like the anxiety Leah was feeling - anxious about her Quidditch skills - it seemed more like she did not have many friends to talk to. In a somwhat awkward posture in which her broom was still between her legs, she walked towards the girl and smiled.
"Hey," she said. "I'm Leah. Do you want to do some laps together?" Now that was friendly.

Hady lifted her head and turned her attention towards someone whom had suggested they all got started by doing some laps. That was fine with her really, she knew how to fly. Sure she wasn't the best or the fastest but at least she could fly, so that was something right?
Just as she was about to move to get started on that an older girl she somewhat remembered seeing around the castle approached her. Hady couldn't recall her name or ever speaking to her but she thought she may have been in Hufflepuff. "Hey, sure I'd like that." The young snakette replied with a small grin adding a moment later. "I'm Hady."
Yup, couldn't forget to give her name now, could she?
Still mounting his broom Beck looked around. He was going to see if some of the other people needed help but clearly they didn't need /HIS/ help because there were more fascinating players that were apparently cooler than he was. Beck was starting to question why he even signed up to volunteer for the camp to begin with. At this point it really seemed like he was needed here and looking around it seemed like the same for some of the other quidditch players.
But you know what? There was going to be words, maybe. He really didn't know. He wasn't going to be mister super nice guy right now because he wasn't the only one getting ignored. For once in his life Beck Salvatore was going to speak up because what harm would it do if he did? It was worth a shot. He held his broom at his side and cleared his throat.
"May I have your attention, this is for the students that haven't started their laps yet." Hopefully that would work to get their attention. "If you need some assistance," Who liked to call it help? If he was there age and he needed help we wouldn't admit it if it was said 'Do you need help?' nope he would have figured it out on his own. "There are other quidditch players here to assist you and to answer ANY questions that you might have. They might even give away some of their secrets." Just a reminder, they were here to help not sign autographs yet. They really needed another meet and greet for that.
That was just a little reminder, he hope no one took it the wrong way, they were all here to help and there was no sense in over loading some of these other players with all these teenagers if there were players just standing around or hovering in the air. Just helping out and trying to get things moving along.

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAASP.
Willa quite possibly inhaled several bugs. Her jaw was DROPPED and her eyes BUGGED.
BECAUSE THAT WAS WEST ODESSA. THE CHASER FOR THE WIGTOWN WANDERERS. THE ONE WITH THE BEAUTIFUL HAIR. THE WROCKSTAR.
The fifteen year old only briefly remembered that she left her new almost friend behind (she was still learning how to be social, sorry), but Willa was up in the air, hovering and watching the beautiful, dark-maned young man walk down below on the grass. The way he carried himself with his cocky swagger and the broom over his shoulder. UGH. HEART EYES. She needed a fan.
After staring for a moment, Willa whizzed back down and hopped off her broom, planting her feet on the grass RIGHT on front of his.
"Hi,", she said, brown eyes WIDE, all teeth baring right at him in a cheesy smile. "I have a poster of you on my ceiling." She was great at introductions. And clearly West Odessa was SO much better than laps, guys.
Look at all the players showing up now. He only knew one of them for obvious reasons. But they were still an impressive bunch. All Dante wanted to do right now is fly. But it is not like he would do that without permission or anything. And it seemed like they could now.
So they had to do laps for something. Well seemed like simple enough intructions
So Dante go on his broom and kicked off into the air.
Well flying was fun.
Understatement of the year.

Offering a warm smile to Derry, Alexis turned her attention back on the kids as they started to fill in. More of them and more players, good! Names weren't exactly her thing, but when it came to Quidditch, Alexis did her best to know everything, all right? So as the instructors arrived their names popped right into her head. Whittebroke had the right idea. So did Salvatore. As for Odessa....well he had a pretty girlfriend so good on him.
"The faster you finish the laps, the faster we can move onto things way more interesting." A little incentive.
And look, there was Hassan, already so modest too.
Heh. Rock star! "I missed you TOO! I didn't know I'd be here either! Quidditch isn't exactly my thing but I figured i'd try it out." And maybe if it became his thing he'd become a Quidditch rock star, like West! Giving Toby, one last good squish, Kyroh let the older boy go. They had to go be serious and pay attention to the Quidditch stars that were arriving. He wasn't a big follower of any of the teams but he recognized some faces.
Glancing up as he heard his name, Kyroh waved excited at Cinna. "Hi Cinna! Yup i'm here!!" And he had a broom and stuff so that made him legit.
Or....the fact that they had to do laps now? That didn't sound too difficult seeing as how flying was pretty easy. Mourning the broom, Kyroh kicked off the ground and hovered. He was just about to take off when he heard a familiar voice.
It was almost as if, thinking about West brought West HERE. Kyroh's eyes lit up as he spotted the now Quidditch playing rock star. Raising his hand he wiggled his fingers at his is snowman dragon building buddy. HI WEST! Did you see his hair? It was ALMOST as cool as yours and Nigels!

Well yes, she had gotten the time wrong. Her husband, Jason, had told her over and over to double check the time, but had she listened? Obviously not. So here she was, hustling over to the group, her face tinged with red that would look like a cherry if not for her natural skin pigment.
Tiara had heard someone else introducing themselves, Hassan perhaps. She knew he was supposed to be here in the oldest age group. "And I'm afraid I'm last. Tiara Tanner, retired professional referee and former Hogwarts flying official, at your service." Thoroughly embarrassed, she swung her leg over her broom and kicked off, hard, before too many stares were directed her way.

HEHE. "Quidditch, but your music is fine." She answered anyway, even if he didn't want her to. She just wanted him to get used to her voice and her FACE so he'd never forget her. She was gonna shadow him like Peter Pan. Willa's eyes lit up in delight when West said that he would SIGN her poster. A SQUEAL got caught in her throat and she ended making a really weird nose, but she was EXCITED. She'd owl her mother right away and have her send it to the camp so he could sign it.
Yes, yes, back to doing the laps. "I was already doing the laps, Mr. Odessa," she said, mounting her broom again with a bit of sass to her tone. Just saying. Regardless, Willa kicked off the ground again and followed after the quidditch star. He had a nice rear end, too, did he know?

Bart was doing his laps not paying attention to the ground. The fangirls could get it out of their system so they could get to real playing and real training. "You ride pretty good for not being on a broom in awhile." He kept his broom steady as the flew around. Though distracted by someone who said the magic word, "I'm going to land." He flew down and he had two thoughts in his mind. Was this guy related to old man Botros and did he say beater? "You are a beater, awesome. Does that mean we are ready to start some target practice?" He was itching to start hitting bludgers and with all chasers, a seeker, and a keeper he knew he was still waiting.
Speaking of professors, "Sup Professor" The old flying professor was an interesting mix. Did mom bring her here to convince her the school needed Quidditch again? Good play mum, good play.
Alright, fantastic! "Passing sounds great too," Esme nodded towards Ferrier as the Magpies Seeker got on her broom and led the way for the campers to start on their laps. She was glad the other players seemed to agree and she looked towards the kids before she would get on her own broom to make sure they had no issues. Surely there were a few beginners among them.
Turning her head at the sound of another loud voice, she noted West Odessa's arrival. Esme hadn't formally met him as far as she could remember, but she knew chasers, being in direct competition with them. "Yeah, yeah, Odessa, we all know who the league winners are," she chuckled as she walked past him. Joking. Just giving him a hard time.. she could appreciate being proud of an accomplishment like that.
She was about to mount her broom when she saw a boy (Freddy) take off running. Oh.. he thought she meant.. goodness, how adorable was he? Smiling brightly, Esme walked over towards him as he fumbled with his broom. "Need any assistance getting started?" He could be a beginner for all she knew. Esme was fairly certain there were all levels in this group.
Glancing towards Beck, she wasn't sure what that was about.. wasn't she already getting them started with laps? And she thought they understood that they were all here to help, but maybe he wanted to work with those having trouble getting started. That would probably do just fine. "I think those girls might need some of your expertise," she smiled at Beck as she pointed out the two girls (Leah and Hady) who hadn't started on laps yet.
Grabbing a quaffle, she glanced up in the air to see many of them already up there, Bart and his girlfriend included. She couldn't remember what position he played, if she knew it, but she got more of a beater vibe from him than anything. Maybe the girl preferred chaser. Swinging her leg over her own broom, Esme looked over at two more loud voices. The beater she didn't know, though he did say new and that would explain it. Maybe she'd say hello later, but not when they had work to do. And a former referee and flying official.. that was an interesting addition to the mix. She nodded an acknowledgement towards them both before taking off.
With a quaffle tucked under her arm, Esme leaned forward on her broom, flying faster to catch up to the group. She was fairly certain most of them had lapped the pitch a few times already, some of them could work on passes too. Flying up alongside one of the campers, she tossed the quaffle to them. "Ready? Catch!"

"Nice to meet you Hady," said Leah. She would have continued their conversation, but the Quidditch Players seemed determined to get them flying as if it was their life goal. She noticed Esme and Beck who probably thought they needed help. "We are okay!" she waved. "Let's go before they freak out," whispered Leah to Hady before she kicked off into the air.
Then she did her laps silently.
Soon, Esme the professional took off and was in the air with them. The girl did not pay much attention to her, but when she threw a Quaffle at them, Leah changed her direction and leaned forward on her broom, trying to catch it before anybody could. She knew it would not work though, as she was at the opposite side of the pitch when the Quaffle was tossed. Faster, faster!

"Nice to meet you Hady," said Leah. She would have continued their conversation, but the Quidditch Players seemed determined to get them flying as if it was their life goal. "You too," Hady replied softly. She didn't mind that they couldn't really continue talking right then as they needed to get into the air and moving. Maybe they'd have some time to talk more later on or something. "Yeah we probably should, I'll be right behind you."
Watching Leah take off into the air on her broom Hady wasted no time with kicking off and heading into the air herself. Leaning forward just slightly was enough to get her moving at a fair enough pace which abled her to keep up with Leah or at least not to much behind the older girl.
Woohoo she was up in the air and had already did a few laps, she didn't want to waste anymore time on the ground. This girl had been off a broom for too long. It was great. She was a Bayless there for she was a natural at flying. Grinning when her boyfriend flew up beside her. Hey, there! Hehe "Never doubted it for a second."
Really she didn't. She was about to ask to race a lap with him before he said he was going to land. No surprise there since a beater showed up. Botros, Huh? He was was easy on the eyes. Maybe she'd join him and Bart for beater training. Look it was professor Tanner! "Hey Professor Tanner, nice too see you on a broom again." Beaming.
Or not.
The quaffle just kind of landed in her lap. Chaser it was then, just like dad. He'd be so proud. "Hello, precious!" In a very gollum like voice. She grabbed it tucking it under her arm and zoomed off with it. Which way should she go? How about toward the other end of where she was? It was farther away. More of a challenge. She liked challenges.

The breeze in her face, Tiara quickly forgot about the whole tardiness thing. This was where she belonged, not stuck inside the castle all day. "Hello yourself, Mister Maroon!" What position had he played again? The memories were starting to slip away as the flying-free terms began to pile up. Stupid threat, stupid sinkhole.

Ah, a natural this one. What acceleration she had! Perhaps Seeker instincts? Tiara made a mental note to watch which group the girl decided to be part of.

It seemed that the students were fond of acknowledging her return to the air. Did they think she had just tossed her broom in a closet when the pitch caved in, that she hadn't been on it ever since? Hardly! She opted for a simple, "Hello!" in return.
And look, the Quaffle was finally out. "Get it!" was all she could think to say when the Bayless girl tore off across the pitch. Instinct had just kicked in. Watch out.

The quaffle was in the air faster than she expected, but Willa immediately tore her eyes off the cute boy on the ground and turned her attention to the ball. It landed in some girl's hands down the pitch and Willa wanted it. What she wanted MORE was a BAT and some stuff to hit at, but the quaffle would do.
"Over here!" Willa called to the girl as she buzzed by, her arm open for her to catch the ball if it was thrown to her. Which it should be, 'cause she wanted it. She was already excited and could feel her adrenaline pumping. Quidditch camp was THE best thing that could have happened this summer.
