Still standing in front of his desk, Mariel fixed her gaze on Anthony as he began to explain. It still didn't make a whole lot of sense to her just yet, but she was getting the increasing notion that Cresswell was forced into the matter. Something that did not entirely sit too well with her. Why did St. Mungo's feel the need to strongarm their way into the Ministry? But this was not a question she voiced just yet, instead allowing the Department Head the courtesy of finishing speaking.
But as he continued, she could not remain silent. "A danger to the public? They can't possibly be serious." The incredulous outrage was apparent on her face. "That certainly hasn't been observed in my department.." By her anyway. And she was currently the happiest she had ever been. "Who are they to invade this Ministry and decide that for themselves?" She wasn't sure Anthony had that answer and it was more of a rhetorical one anyway. But last she had checked, St. Mungo's had no governing power of the Ministry of Magic. In fact, she had thought it was the other way around, if at all.
Certainly it was true that their locations last year were less than ideal, but they made the best of it and it was absurd to think that there were underlying emotional issues more than a year later because of it. His next words caused her to raise an eyebrow. "Threatened.. with the Prophet?" she repeated slowly. Did he know of her personal ties to the publication? "That's an interesting choice of words.." She didn't have anything to hide and didn't see it as much of a threat though. Certainly not one to warrant someone else coming in and taking over. The public already knew that her own department had operated in an abandoned airplane hangar.. as well as the Muggle locations of the other departments. That had already been in the press. This entire thing remained ridiculous in her eyes. And bottom line was that someone else deemed this acceptable on behalf of the entire Ministry without so much as asking her opinion or cooperation, just expected it.

Which meant if his fist connected with anyone then he had the approval of Law Enforcement. Perhaps not the approval, but rather the blind eye to the deed. He would take either.
Following as the doors open, he left the lift with one last comment. "Brought it on himself." So it was the man's own fault that he was going to get bombarded in his office.

It was nice when one felt understood, and that was something she didn't need to concern herself with in Aron's company. He was right, there were few people she would have friendly banter to exchange with, and even fewer that she would give the light of day... all this went without needing to be said.
The banter in the lift was just that, banter, a way of blowing off a little steam before dealing with the facts, and she was hoping she would be getting facts, she had little patience for excuses. Considering evaluations were soon to be starting, apparently, there was no time to sit and wait for whatever business Cresswell had to complete, which was likely relevant to them regardless... so after two knocks, Emily pushed the office door open, and let them in.
"Anthony... Mariel," she greeted with a nod to each, though her gaze lingered on the Specialties Department Head. "Please explain," she stated simply in her naturally calm voice, the letter in her hand. She wanted details, and she particularly wanted to know why. Any attempt to delay a response would not be taken lightly.

"I'd like to think Mr. Donovan, Mr. Carmichael, and Mrs. Delgado monitor things well enough." Anthony didn't believe for a second the St. Mungo's people were here for legitimate reasons. Nope. No rose!colored shades here, thank you very much.
He was just about to comment on the 'threatening' of Gavin Isaacs when another knock sounded and the two people he'd been waiting for stepped into his office. Emily Browne...and Aron. Anthony was so frustrated at the situation that he couldn't even appreciate Aron's face. A crime, it was. "I was wondering when you'd be here." Really. He had.
.......At least there were no wands drawn...and/or pointed at his face. That was exceedingly appreciated. Pulling a glass from his desk drawer and a questionable bottle, he began pouring. "I'm not happy about any of this, just so we're clear." Merlin, no one needed to think this was HIS doing. Replacing the cork, he lifted the glass to take a sip. A long one.
Not a single care was given on this day.
"Would anyone else like a drink?" Yes? No?
Anthony paused and sipped again. "It was either...they use our Healers...or more of them were coming." Snatching a piece of slightly crumpled parchment from his desk, he lifted it for either of them to take. "I received this yesterday." They could read for themselves.

Aron gave a curt nod of the head to Mariel and Anthony and then jabbed his thumb at Emily. Yeah. That. Explain this rubbish. He just shook his head at the offer of a drink. He hadn't stormed down here to have a tea party. Anything he personally wanted to drink was the sort that he ought not to while still on the clock, so no. He was going to pass on the beverage.
So he didn't respond to the offer, and instead just snatched up the parchment with the same stern expression on his chiseled features he had been wearing pretty much all morning. "Mighty good of them to give you so much time to respond," he shorted as he passed it to the next person. "Not even 24 hours notice? What do they bloomin' think we have? The plague?"

Mariel didn't know whether who she presumed to be Anthony's healers monitored anything or not, but she knew her own level well enough to know that none of her employees were a danger to anything. How preposterous. In fact, they had just completed a rather large event specifically for the public, stressful in itself.. if there was any danger, it certainly would have presented itself then. Something wasn't adding up with this and she was far from pleased.
Turning sharply at the sound of a knock at the door, green eyes fell on the figures of two more Department Heads. Certainly not too surprising to see them here as well. "Emily.. Aron.." she returned the greeting, then turned back to Cresswell in front of her as she awaited further explanation. Right, right.. he wasn't happy about it. She had gathered that, though she supposed he felt the need to make that point to the other two, trying to avoid blame perhaps. But pointing fingers wasn't currently her concern.
An eyebrow was raised as she took note of the bottle. "Certainly not during business hours," she replied to the offer. She didn't know for certain what the liquid was but she could guess. Ministry Healers, Mungo's Healers, more, less.. she didn't care either way and she was quickly losing her patience over what was starting to feel like stall tactics. She just wanted an explanation and not some weak one that implied they had issues so the Senior Undersecretary immediately granted permission for them to invade. He had never struck her as so submissive just for the sake of complaisance, though maybe he really was the one she should be speaking to.
The brunette waved the parchment away as Aron moved it in her direction. She did not care to read any more about this nonsense. "No," she scoffed at the man's question. "Simply underlying anger issues that cause us all to be a grave danger to society." So her tone was facetious, that was about as serious as she took the allegations. Though she could feel herself becoming a danger to anyone who decided for her that she'd be required to undergo something as ridiculous as a compulsory Health Evaluation to rule out anything unsavory for the general public. "I, for one, don't need a health evaluation." No, she was in perfect health. "I suppose I can leave it up to my employees if they'd like one though." See, she wasn't an unreasonable woman. Especially if they'd like a free check-up. But she did find it unreasonable to make something like this mandatory, especially with what they were implying.

She hadn't been asking if he was pleased with it or not, and frankly, his feelings on the matter were moot. What she really wanted to know, was what they were looking for, and what processes they would be taking to find it. They weren't just here out of the goodness of their hearts, if that had been the case, they'd have set up a stall in the Atrium and offered them to passers-by, not simply forcing it upon the whole institution.
"No, thank you," Emily declined Cresswell's offer. Now was hardly the time. Mariel's comment struck her as odd, in light of having missed most of that conversation. Anger issues, danger to society, it was ridiculous. And what Aron was saying was no different, the plague, really?
"Seems pretty urgent. What is it they're looking for, specifically? You must have some idea since your staff are assisting with these measures," she said the word distastefully. By all accounts it may be the plague they're after, but in reality it wasn't feesable.
"And what's involved in the process? Our employees have the right to full disclosure where the invasion of their privacy is concerned." That much he had to know, if not, then it meant he was leading his team in blindly which would be both foolish and plain stupid.
Brad walked into the department head's office, still holding Anthony. The man didn't weigh much but holding him in the elevator and carrying him here was definitely a lot more than the man was used to. But he was the one who had decided against magic for fear of dropping him on the way here. At least this was safer.
Brad gently placed the passed out man on the sofa. Then he turned back to his coworkers. "We need to do something about these healers." And that's what he was going to leave it at. He knew no one messed with their boss man.

"What do you suggest we do to those crazypants?" He's up to give them a taste of their own medicine. Pun intended.

Brad nodded. That was really the only thing that could be done at this point. And he was Head Healer and in charge since the department head was unconscious. "Right. I'll need Jamie with me because he was there for the whole thing." He would've probably punched someone if he would have been there through the whole thing. Or someone else might be unconscious as well.
Yes Jamie please wake Anthony up. Even though Bradley doubted Jamie knew anything about what was in that syringe either. "Do you need any help Jamie?" Because the man was here to help.
Bradley smirked. He was a master of chaos...and a master of looking like it wasn't him. "Sabotaging their equipment for one thing. They need to stop giving people shots of merlin knows what."
Lots and lots of things we're happening all at once. talks of Sabotage and research and finding out what was in those syringes! Athena shook her head and put her hands up as all the thoughts zoomed through her mind. "Whoa, whoa whoa slow down boys!." they we're all jumping ahead of themselves and while her lips still tingled from Jamie's kiss she pushed the memory out of her mind and stood firm in her spot. "First thing we need to do is contact all other department heads and make sure their employees don't go through with this. and if they have we have to deal with it." goodness boys always wanting revenge and destroying things. "and while we do that someone needs to get one of those syringes.. full of whatever they have in them. That's how we find out how to either wake Anthony or reverse whatever's going to happen to him." a simple Finite wouldn't work in this situation and while she appreciated Brad's efforts clearly his head wasn't on straight at the moment and Athena, well you can say she's use to working under intense pressure like this. This was a cake walk.
