"Excuse me, where are my manners. I'm Dacs." she said, before getting back to work. She heard when the woman found the list.

As Dacs bagged two more items from the menu, the mozzarella sticks and the cheesy bread, the young woman did something Dacs didn't expect. Breathing deeply, she turned, her eyes snapping live coals."Ok,you just need to check that list off or head to level two to quarantine. That was and still is your only instruction. Are we clear?" she took another breath and remarked," I know what needs to be done, it's kind of my job. When this is done, I'm going to need this taken to the lab. I'll have to have you escorted there then to quarantine. At least until you are cleared."

She wasn't going to have anyone who doesn't know the full situation take point, not while she was there. It would only serve to confuse an already running operation.

Snatching the marker, Dacs labelled the bags and set them down in the cooler and turned to get more evidence containers. She was working as fast as she could.

Zach walked around and near the bag to get some collection bags. He then grabbed a marker and some gloves so as to not contaminate the samples.

He heard Dacs and someone talks and when he look around he saw that she was from the Ministry Department. Poor soul he thought. He thinks that that girl is just sad. She believes she is in charge, very delusional. He then walked towards the two talking.

"Do you want me to escort her to level 2?" he said as he overheard the conversation. "Here are some samples I collected." handing over two sample bags to Dacs.

"Nice to meet you" she replied.

"Pardon me, looks like I have forgotten my manners". Oh merlin. Beijing had not interprited the instructions correctly, she was brilliant at making enemies and thouraly hoped she had not made another one. "I must have misunderstood what you told me about the list." Beijing was horrified inside to have made such a mistake, but on the outside she kept her cool. She was grateful that nobody had claimed the task she'd asigned before Dacs caught her. She figured she'd better head to the quarentine soon, even thought she dreaded the thought of showing up there.

Dacs rolled her head to ease some of the tension in her neck and shoulders. When Zach spoke up she turned to him and said,"Ok, but after we're done here."she said, taking the bags from him."I only asked her to check the list because she's potentially infected and she made a valid point of contaminating evidence. I just want her somewhere safe where she can be monitored, until she is cleared."

She looked at the woman and sighed.

"It's ok. Happens to the best of us. Just keep that list tight, I don't want to miss anything. I'll have them take care of you while you are there in quarantine, ok?" she said to her in an easy, light tone.


Dacs went back to collecting samples. Within fifteen minutes she had more items bagged and labelled. Items such as the roast beef, cornish pasties, the bacon sandwich and the ham and cheese sandwich. She really wasn't wasting time. The dessert bar was next and they did have another large spread to get through.

She turned to the three that she was working with and said, "I'm going to run over to the juice bar and see what's going on ok? I'll be right back." before she headed away from the table, peeling the gloves off as she went.

Victoria had come to the main buffet area. She had heard they might need help with some things and thought it might be a good way to meet some new people. She hesitated though, wasn't this where they said the illness was starting or did she hear them wrong in that meeting. Trying to decide whether to continue or not Victoria decided to just go ahead and see if she could help in any way.

Walking into the area she looked around, having no clue who to even talk with. Seeing a lady that seemed to be in charge, Victoria walked up to her and gave the best not showing how nervous she was smile, "Hello, I'm Victoria Maroon. I was wondering if I could be of any assistance at all." Well they could always say no if they didn't want her help, but at least she asked.

Just as Dacs was about to leave the area, another young woman came over, asking where she could help. She turned as she was approached by the woman and said,"Hi Victoria, I'm Dacs, I'm in charge for this investigation. We could use some extra hands collecting samples. There are more gloves in that field bag over there, put on a pair, grab some tongs and evidence containers. There is suppose to be an extra marker in the right side pocket of the bag, label each sample each and put in the cooler there." she indicated the cooler which stood open next to the bag."Any questions, don't be afraid to ask."

She looked at the young woman and smiled before saying,"Loosen up a bit."

Victoria tried to listen very carefully to all instructions. Well that didn't seem to hard, right. " I think I can handle that. Now when I label them is the persons name somewhere to label or is something else needing on the label?" She wanted to make sure she had everything right. She did not want to be the person to screw this up.

Turning Victoria went to the bag and slipped on the gloves, then took out the tongs. Next she found the containers. She felt like a secret detective or healer with all of this. Putting her hand down in the bag she found the marker. Okay now that she had everything where should she start. She looked around taking it all in for a moment.

Dacs shook her head a bit and said,"You label what food item is in the bag. So that they can know what is contaminated from what isn't. No person's name. Once you've labelled it properly, you put it in the cooler."

She was feeling at ease that things would go fine. They just needed to get a move on. The dessert bar was left and then to get these to the lab. The other phase of the investigation needed to be underway.

Gabriel snapped on the gloves Dacs had left for him on his desk earlier that day. He'd been busy reading through the list she'd given him as well, which is why he was later than planned joining the team at the food court.

"Right, where do you need me?" he asked, marching over to the woman. She was charge of this part, he would bow to her demands.

Victoria listened and smiled, "Yes I can do that. I will get started right away." She gave Dacs a smile and then turned back to the food. Using the tongs Victoria picked up the first food and placed into the bag. Using the marker Victoria started to label the bag. This was actually kind of gross when she thought about it. Touching other people's food that they had eaten even though she was touching them with tongs was still gross.

Victoria did this for a few more bags and then she started placing the bags into the coolers. Looking up she saw another man join them, smiling she gave a small hi and then turned back to the work she was doing. More food into bags and then marking them correctly. She made sure to double check to get everything correctly.

Dacs turned and smiled at Gabe."Hey, another head screwed on right. Good to see you. I was just about to check on the juice bar crew. You mind holding it down here. I got something else I might have to look into pretty soon." she said to him in a very easy tone.

"Good." was all she said before she turned away. She looked around to see that no one was dawdling and not doing anything. Dacs was about the job, and was not about to waste any time as time was of the essence. Looking across, Dacs saw that Esme and another employee were packing up and leaving the juice bar.

She doubled back and snatched the gloves that were hanging from her back pocket and hurried toward the buffet and started moving at warp speed. In about 30 minutes she had bagged and tagged the garden- Knome salad, the Cesar salad, mixed vegetables,tripe, the pork chop and applesauce and the dragon breath stew. Placing them in the cooler, she turned to Gabriel and said,"Can you finish up here and send Zach and Beijing up to the lab to be tested. Then join me over by the dessert bar. I'm just gonna be there a while and then move to the next phase of the investigation. After this you can head to level two and see what's going on with rounding up the infected." she said as she peeled off the gloves again.


OOC: Ok, I added this to kind of speed things up so we can get to the dessert bar.

Zach heard his name and looked into the direction where the voice came from. It was Dacs, giving orders to a Gabriel. He went over and cleared his throat for a sec and said. "OK, I will now head with Beijing to Level 2 for her to be tested." he said looking around trying to figure out if Beijing is still around...

Victoria was working on the food samples she had been collecting. Making sure each had their labels and each were placed in the cooler just as she was told to do. This was different then making a quidditch schedule, but she was glad to be helping out. As she finished up she looked around to make sure she had gotten all the samples in the area.

Trying to see exactly who was left in the room, she noticed Dacs who had given her the orders to begin with. She was speaking with others about what to do next. Wow there was so much going on with this investigation. Victoria listened to try and figure out some of it, with no detective work experience she figured she was missing some terms they were discussing. Victoria walked over to the small group. "I finished the samples I was working on, what would you like for me to do next?"

..... seriously. They had to pay? Per item? What kind of buffet was this? Or was it pay that amount and get as much of anything you want on that list? Rusty squinted at it but the menu didn't shed any more light on that, and neither did the actual food itself.

He stared in consternation, his stomach grumbling.

This was way too pricey to manage every day, especially given how much he had a tendency to eat.

Lenny's first thought when she walked towards the buffet, was that the queue was going to be way too long. That was completely incorrect, she realised, as there were very few people here. Her second thought came after she'd realised why. You had to pay .. for each thing. How ridiculous. Unfortunately, she didn't have time to pop home and grab a bite to eat, so this would have to do. Plus, the food would no doubt be nicer.

Problem. One guy seemed to be taking his time.

Normally, she would be too shy to say anything, but this was FOOD they were talking about. A serious matter. So, yeah, shyness went out of the window. "Hey, um, yeah, excuse me? I think I'm going to eat my arm if I don't get some food soon, so could you, yeah, hurry up?" Or move over a little, so she could reach what she wanted. Either was fine with her.

Rusty had worked out, since he'd been back in England, that the most interesting encounters seemingly happened around food. At least today there was no food collisions, so hey, that was a step up. The Obliviator turned to look at the woman at his elbow. Almost more girl than woman really. She looked young. Honestly if he weren't in the Ministry at that moment he probably would've mistaken her for a sixth or seventh year kid.

Arm eating though? "Would you remove it first?" He didn't address the rest. She could go around him if she really wanted to, not like there was some huge queue or anything.

Perhaps she knew the answer to his questions though.

"Would you happen to know if those prices are a flat rate for all the food listed below it?" Because it sure didn't say per item. Also, it DID say it was a Buffet. And Buffet implied all you can eat. So.

Clearly a legit question.

"Mmmmm" she hummed as inhaled the glorious smell of the buffet. Zoe was hungry...no, starving. After a morning of taking care of little tykes, she felt as if she could eat every last thing on the menu. All of the selections looks wonderful. Especially the Garden-gnome salad and the Dragon's breath casserole. Looking down the line, she decided to get the salad and casserole along with some mixed vegetables and a side of cheese bread. She could always take the left overs home.

Moving down the line, she noticed there was the dessert bar to her left. Yes, she must leave room for dessert. Leaving room on her tray, Zoe grabbed a few napkins and headed towards the desserts before paying.

Victoria sat eating her chicken wrap, it was a nice day. She watched people coming in and out. Sitting alone she had some thoughts going through her head. Gavin was sweet and she wished he was sitting with her, maybe she would go visit him after she was done. He would like that wouldn't he? Of course he would. There was not reason he wouldn't. Then her mind went to Charely and she sighed. She really liked him, the dates were going so well, but there was Gavin.

She continued to watch people around her and a smile grew on her face. Moving her tray to the side, Vic slipped off her shoes and stepped on her chair. Stepping up onto her table she knelt down and put her hands on her hips like wings.

"BUCUCK......BUCUCK... BUCUCK..... BUCUUUUUUUCK"


Oh if Bart could see his mother now... She chuckled, got off the table slipped her shoes back on, sat down, and continued to eat her wrap.

Bradley was in desperate need of food. Mainly because it was more than halfway through the day and he hadn't eaten since breakfast. His stomach was really starting to fight against him. But he'd just been so busy getting everything set and taking care of kids. Once his healer duties were taken care of, he asked someone to cover him while he took a well needed break.

...and of course the food court was packed. With a slight sigh Brad got in line. Didn't these people know he was about to die of hunger? Well not really, but still. He wanted his food now.

It was days like this that wished she’d gone out to eat, or better yet, sent someone to get her food for her. Unfortunately for her, these bright ideas escaped her until she found herself queueing up for the main buffet. Ugh.

She tapped her heal impatiently, not even caring if it bothered the person in front of her.
“Excuse me, do you think you could pass me... something, anything,” that was within his reach. Emily disliked standing around. It was a waste of time, literally.

Bradley heard the insist sound of heels tapping. That sound was not a pleasant sound. Even if they made the ladies look prettier, heels were still not the nicest sounding of shoes.

He turned around to see a very impatient looking woman behind him. Apparently she was as hungry as he was, but he was being an adult about it. Haley would be proud.

"Uh sure." Brad turned around and grabbed a bacon sandwich, handing it back to her. "In a rush are we?" He asked raising his eyebrows.

She saw the man look at her. She saw. But then at least he obliged her with her request, that was something. "Thanks," she added quickly as she took the sandwich from him. She didn't care what was in it, though she did like bacon.. a lot.. so this was all sorts of win.

"Mmmmm," she mummbled with a mouthful before swallowing, "I usually am." It was part and parcel with the job, especially given the circumstances in which she took the position. There was so much to be done, and not enough time in which to do it. Lame.
"Emily Browne... MLE Department Head," she introduced herself, offering the man her hand for a shake. Granted, her hand was a bit slick with the juices from the bacon... but she didn't care, it was just food!stuff, it wouldn't kill him. Besides, she wanted to shake the mans hand, he'd just done her a favour with the food. She could eat now, and grab something else to go, once the line dwindled. Bonus.

...and he turned around to grab a bacon sandwich for himself. It just looked yummy. The woman was lucky it made it to her hands. Brad looked back at her as she seemed to be eating in line. Definitely in a rush.

"Not really the best way to live if you ask me." Coming from the man that had not eaten all day because he was busy at work. Oops. Ah. But her position kind of made sense with her being busy all the time. Brad smiled and shook her hand. At least his was full of equal baconness...if that was even a word. "Bradley Donovan. Nursery Healer." Man did his title suck compared to hers. But he liked his job so no complaints.

Taking another bite, Emily shook her head at the guy. "It's not... as bad as it sounds," she said between bites. At least she was never bored, never left to her own devices. There was no chance of her losing her marbles in that sense. "I can see how it's not for everyone though..."

Bradley... she was impressed with his handshake. No squirming, no awkward wiping hands on pants, just a solid shake. As for the nursery healer bit, Emily's eyes widened with respect, "little ones... kudos to you," she didn't have the patience for kids. Recent run-ins though, were proving her otherwise. That wasn't to say she was starting to like children. Tolerating them and liking them were two different things. "That must keep you busy though," she added, noting that he too was eating in line now. See, it was efficient. Smart. Nothing wrong with it at all.

Brad took a bite of his own sandwich. What? She'd had a good idea. And he was hungry and needed to keep up his manish figure. Yep. "Never said it was bad...just can get slightly unhealthy." Oops. Maybe he should've swallowed before speaking. Oh well.

He swallowed and gave her a smile. "I'm guessing you and kids don't mix." Brad had actually gotten that reaction quite a lot. He didn't mind though. He loved his job. Bradley nodded with enthusiasm. "Yep. This is the first thing I've had to eat since breakfast." Busy, busy Bradley.
